If however after the first year, you decide to renew instead of upgrading to Lifetime, then after the second year you will still have the option to upgrade to the Lifetime but again, by paying $116 (not 195-79-39=77$) .
Hi, I wanted to buy the renewal to my WPML version that I bouth on January 2014, but it says I must buy the full version again. Why can’t I renew?
Thanks
We’ve built a site using our “WPML Multilingual Blog ” license and our client would like to host this site on their servers. How do we transfer the license over to our customer, or does the customer have to have their own license?
Hi,
there is no need to transfer your WPML subscription to your customer. All you need to do is to register his site in your WPML account and you can use for your customers (even more than one)
Hello, I´m updating the mums.fi website and they have an outdated version of wmpl on their site. To renew the licence it cost only 40 bucks so I can i renew it?
Hi,
to renew a WPML you need to have an active WPML account, if you have it, please log into it and you will find links together with pricing to renew it. You will also find the pricing for renewing here: https://wpml.org/purchase/
see last row. Please note that these are the prices for an active WPML subscription. If your subscription already expired you will still have a possibility to upgrade to Lifetime at a reduced price. The best way to see the options available for you is to log into your WPML account.
Hello,
The previous website was made by some else and he doesent seem to know anything about this. Is it possible to somehow fond a license key from the wmpl that is installed on the website and backtrack from there to see what email account is registered so that I could find the account information? How fast does the account expire ? does the account expire at the same time as the subscription?
Hi
I have a similar problem with a client website which we’ve taken over support for. It uses an out-of-date version of WPML and I’d like to upgrade it but I don’t know the account details.
Also, for testing purposes I have a staging version of the site, which I was trying to upgrade first to make sure everything works properly before upgrading the live server.
When I try to update it through WordPress it complains that WMPL is not licensed for the stage server URL. What can I do about this?
Hi Simon,
in order to have access to recent WPML plugins an active subscription is required. If you buy WPML for yourself you can still use it for all your customers’ sites. You just need to register each of your customer sites in your WPML account.
Hi,

hi guys,
we are thinking about your plugin. please iso you plugin fully compatible with OnePress theme? And how the switching between languages works on the websites? something like flags, different subdmains?
which means it wasn’t tested by our team but still might work with WPML.
You can test it yourself keeping our policy in mind: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
Yes, you can add your language switcher as flags (you just need to enable an option in WPML settings). You can use subfolders or subdomains for your languages. When you will install WPML there will be a sort of wizard that will guide you through all the steps. You can pick relevant options fitting your needs. It’s super easy.
Hi,
no, you won’t be able to access the string translation plugin using the $29 subscription. You need either the “Multilingual CMS” or the “Lifetime”.
My company website require multilingual translation that include simplified, traditional and english language to translate the post in WordPress automatically. Can you have any demo site to try your service? It’s because I observe your office in Hong Kong and our center is also in HK, so you have any direct contact to your local staff?
Dear Jan,
WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically. You insert the translations yourself or you can use one of the professional services integrated with WPML: https://wpml.org/documentation/content-translation/
We all working from homes, from different parts from the world. You cannot contact us directly, I’m sorry.

WPML doesn’t include integration with machine translation. You could theoretically copy/paste from Google translation into WordPress via WPML, but that’s not the intended use. WPML is intended for people who want to translate their own sites or get help from human translators.

I’m not aware of a tool that lets you popular the content in WordPress, when using WPML, from machine translation. This question pops up once every few months. On the surface, it looks like a nice thing to add, but Google tells people to avoid using machine translation as their content. This is why we haven’t added this feature to WPML.
Yes, why wouldn’t it be indexed by Google? When clients need to pass any private information to ask, we enable private responses, which are not visible to anyone else except our supporters. Isn’t it nice to be able to find solutions to your similar problems by searching?
I have also been looking at some support questions:

I have access to hosting with PHP v5.4.19, and MySQL v5.5.43 at GoDaddy.
Obviously their offering and yours will increase in demands in the future, and you can’t give an absolute guarantee about this. The wordpress.org recommend v5.6 for security reasons, not because of its ability to run WordPress. I have also noted the memory limits recommended and I’ve found where to amend that.
MY QUESTION
Can you give me some comfort that I could install WPML and it work with my current hosting, provided that other requirements are met for plugins and themes?
The minimum requirements for WPML is PHP 5.2, not 5.6. It would be great if we could bump that up to 5.6, but still some percentage of the WordPress sites are stuck on PHP 5.2. We are not going to move from this anytime soon.
I’m working with the Divi Builder and have been looking for a multilingual translation plugin and would like to ask one question which I think is quite important:
After having finished the content of a page and starting to translate it into another language, what does happen in the background?
Is the page for the second language to be duplicated together with its complete layout?
Or is WPML a real CMS leaving the layout of a page in a single point and providing features to translate the content independently from the layout?
If the layout is duplicated for each langauge, then it would be a lot of work to change a page’s layout AFTER having translated it into multiple other languages.
How does WPML handle this issue?
Please let me know as I’m about to buy WPML if it satisfying my question, thank you.
Today you need to duplicate the Divi page builder designs to each language, because WPML cannot read the designs in Divi and get the texts to translate from them. We are working on integration between WPML and Divi (and other page builders), so that it will work like you describe. We intend to allow you to create the designs in Divi just once and then only translate texts in WPML.
This is something that will take us a while to build, because it’s pretty complex and also requires some tweaks in Divi. I don’t want to promise a schedule before we know the full extent of the project. We’re working on it.
In the meantime, I have seen the XLIFF feature in the WPML CMS version, so I was really hopeful that it could cover my needs, but you are saying that feature is in work.
But what is the XLLIFF feature for?
It should really provide a way to just translate the text and re-import it into the page, doesn’t it?
The pages that you create with Divi are full of shortcodes that hold the layout that you design. If you look at the page source (not the output on the front-end), you will see a shortcode for every element on the page and shortcodes for the structure.
When you export these pages using XLIFF, you will get an XLIFF file that has all these shortcodes. A translator could translate just the texts and leave all the shortcodes unchanged, but this is a very error-inviting process. One change to a shortcode or even to an attribute and the page is broken. It would make better sense to rebuild these layouts in Divi with the translated texts. Of course, we realize that this process is a lot of work. This is why we’re creating the integration with Divi, which will let WPML read the texts and apply translations to the layout.
Once a website is completely translated with several versions, can WPML detect and show any pages with text changes to one of the version pages so translators will know translation update tasks are needed on the corresponding language pages? Does it highlight the words or phrases that were changed or added?
It lets you do what you’re describing and more:
* Choose what content different translators need to translate
* See the progress of translation
* See what content requires translation update (or creating new translations)
* See what changed in the original text when updating translations
All of this is done from the WordPress admin, from a special “Translation Management” area.
How much load will this plugin add to my website? I have more than 1000 posts and would like to know in terms of performance how much delay should I expect when activating your plugin.
Hi Rachel,
when you translate your posts and pages with WPML you create a new post/page for each post/page you want to show in another language. So if you want to have all your 1000 posts translated you need to multiply the current number of your posts by the number of languages you will have. In your database you will have even more records since WPML needs to keep the extra information which post is a translation for which.
Say I have my site in English, French, and Spanish. Will my woocommerce orders show up in french if someone orders off of the french version of the site?
Hi, by “woocommerce orders” you mean your products followed by the whole purchasing process appearing in French? If so, yes, that is possible to achieve with WPML plugins and the WooCommerce Multilingual extension but some work is needed to be done on your side: you need to translate your products first and other related strings. More info here: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/
I think you misunderstand. I mean after a product has been purchased and I go into my wordpress/woocommerce back-end to process the order. If the customer uses the french version of the site to purchase the items, will there order information all show up in french (like the name of the product?). I can foresee this creating complications when processing orders.
Hi again, I’m still not sure if this is what you were asking about but WPML allows you to change the admin language. So if you change it to French you will see your orders displayed in French.
I own a small travel blog in Portuguese and I’d like to purchase WPML to translate it to English. My idea was to use Google Translate as a starting point and then correct what is wrong or weird.
However, I became worried about Google consider my content as duplicated after reading this article “https://wpml.org/faq/does-wpml-support-machine-translation/” , specially in this part:
“If you use machine translation as a starting point and edit the translation heavily, it would be fine. However, using machine translation, as is, doesn’t agree with Google’s guidelines for website translation.”
I did some tests and usually I keep 90-95% of the automatic translation. Would Google penalize me for that? Is there some way or some configuration I should use to avoid this situation?
Is WPML recommended for this kind of translation or should it be used only for completely human translations?
Hi Renato,
WPML allows you to insert your translations (or you can send your posts/pages to one of the professional translation services integrated with WPML). So it is up to you what you will insert. WPML is just an interface.
Very simple question that I just need confirmation. I purchased WPML thinking it would translate the site. Is it true that this isn’t the case and that I need a translator?
hello
i found ur plugin amazing but i have some questions
1- my language is kurdish(sorani) i found that u have it but i need a demo of it to see if its totally my language or a website that have it any thing just to see it before purchasing
2- can i translate by custom too?
3- is there any discounts ?
4- what will be translated with Multilingual Blog for my website http://www.k4shop.com
thanks for answering
Hello,
WPML doesn’t translate automatically. You need to insert your translations or your can use one of the professional translation services that are integrated with WPML but paid extra.
We don’t offer any discounts.
Your site is based on the WooComerce plugin, right? So you would need the “Multilingual CMS” subscription in order to translate your products as well.
I bought your full version plugin a while ago but didn’t renew in time; I’d like to buy the life time option now; do I just purchase it as if it’s a brand new purchase? or is there a special deal for past customers..? or..how do I best upgrade? the plugins are still active and working on my website but I’m having a conflict between the Virtue theme from Kadence Themes and the wpml-translation-management plugin.
Hi Leile, yes, there is a special deal for our customers who missed the renawal date. Please log into your WPML account and you should see the link to upgrade to the Lifetime version at a reduced price.
What exactly would you advise if I will not use it anymore?
I would like to regain at least some of the money.
This plugin doesn’t meet my requirements since it is duplicating the products of Woocommerce, and users from the front-end of multivendor site see doubled products.
That happens when I don’t want to translate a product yet but I want it to be displayed on other language versions.
That’s a terrible thing for me.
.. but if I’m the owner of something (e.g. software license) I have the right to sell it forward, isn’t it?

Once a website is completely translated with several versions, can WPML detect and show any pages with text changes to one of the version pages so translators will know translation update tasks are needed on the corresponding language pages? Does it highlight the words or phrases that were changed or added?
This is what WPML’s Translation Management module does:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-the-translation-editor/
It lets you do what you’re describing and more:
* Choose what content different translators need to translate
* See the progress of translation
* See what content requires translation update (or creating new translations)
* See what changed in the original text when updating translations
All of this is done from the WordPress admin, from a special “Translation Management” area.
Does this help?

More info here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/
In this article you will find some example sites using WooCommerce Multilingual:
https://wpml.org/2016/02/what-our-users-say-about-the-woocommerce-multilingual-plugin/
I think you misunderstand. I mean after a product has been purchased and I go into my wordpress/woocommerce back-end to process the order. If the customer uses the french version of the site to purchase the items, will there order information all show up in french (like the name of the product?). I can foresee this creating complications when processing orders.
You mean on the front-end or in the WordPress admin?
wodpress admin
WPML allows you to change the admin language. So if you change it to French you will see your orders displayed in French.
Hi again, I’m still not sure if this is what you were asking about but WPML allows you to change the admin language. So if you change it to French you will see your orders displayed in French.
Hi,
I own a small travel blog in Portuguese and I’d like to purchase WPML to translate it to English.
Hi Sarah,
WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically. Please read this post to find out why:
https://wpml.org/faq/does-wpml-support-machine-translation/
If you need your contents to be translated by humans you can use one of the professional translation services integrated with WPML:
https://wpml.org/documentation/content-translation/
I bought the WPML and reset my pass for the account.
It will not allow me in at all?
Please help.
Thank you
Let me forward your issue to our admins. We will contact you with details.

i found ur plugin amazing but i have some questions
Looking forward to your response!
Leila
Hi Leile, yes, there is a special deal for our customers who missed the renawal date. Please log into your WPML account and you should see the link to upgrade to the Lifetime version at a reduced price.
I want to sell my whole license (which is lifetime) further because I don’t want to use WPML anymore.
Are there any obstacles, can I do it?
Hi Adam, only our company can sell WPML. Nobody else can do this.
Thanks for the info.
Please advise
