Hi,
Just a couple of questions prior to purchasing WPML.
What do you mean by “Lifetime” Support / Updates?
Does it mean even if you upgrade your current version 3.4.1 (I believe) to 5.x in a few years time, I will still get support / updates? Or is there a limit to the “Lifetime” support / updates?
If I purchase the one year licence, am I right in saying thats it’s exactly the same as the “Lifetime” licence, except for end of support / updates after one year?
If I purchase the one year licence, I can always upgrade to the “Lifetime” licence anytime within the 1 year by paying the difference between the purchase price of the both. Is that correct?

Exactly.

You are perfectly right.

You can buy a new account, or save by upgrading to a Lifetime account at a reduced rate.
Upgrade to a Lifetime account ($116.00 instead of $195.00). Buy the Multilingual CMS again ($79.00).
I have a website in main language French. I would like to add an English navigation option. I think your marvellous plugin could make it possible.
I am using Superfly Menu.
My goal is to add a language switcher as a menu item (the very last menu item, same style as all of them with a bigger line space though) showing only inactive language (either French or English).
No flags.
Can it be simply achieve using WPML plugin?
I am not an coding expert, far from there.
If any, can I count on you assistance in the above issue?
Hi Artur,
this plugin wasn’t tested by our Compatibility Team so we cannot predict how it will work.
1. In general, WPML language switcher can be added to any standard WP menu but I’m not sure if the menu you have can be called “standard” (have never seen it)
2. There are also some other ways to include a language switcher, please check the following options:
[wpml_language_selector_widget] https://wpml.org/tutorials/language-switchers/ https://wpml.org/wpml-hook/wpml_add_language_selector/

I am building new site with new hosting provider, and of course I have 2 wordpress installattions. Does it means that I need to buy 2 accounts of CMS or I can install it on both sites.
I am a developer and have a client who has a website with multiple sub-domains which are manual translation sites done by a third party. Do you have any kind of demo that I can enter some of the existing text on the site and test the translation from your plugin against the existing translations to ensure they are identical?
The site in question is http://xerium.com. They are currently in an ASP.net environment, but we will be switching them over to WordPress soon and want to ensure that the translation plugin you have will work for their needs.
Hello,
I thought I had left a comment earlier but I no longer see it.
I am migrating a site that is currently an ASP.net site over to WordPress. They have multiple translated versions of their site. I would like to know if there is any kind of demo for your software. I would like to input some of the existing text content to ensure that your plugin meets my clients needs.
Hi. I am looking to purchase your plugin but I need to know for sure if it is FULLY integrated with WP Bridge and if I anticipate any problems with it. I tried to use a Pollylang with Bridge and it did not work properly. In all fairness, Bridge Support does say they don’t support Pollylang
I don’t need translator tools as I will translate myself (it is a simple site with few static pages and few blog pages in just 1 more Language), so I am thinking of start with the WPML Blog (simpler & cheaper) version to see if it works.
However, I noticed that the language toggle at the TOP BAR (exactly what I want) does NOT work (at least on Firefox) .. only the toggle on the Menu (which is not what I want)
Also, one more thing.. The Demo shows that when selecting the 2nd language (in this case French), it goes to the Homepage of the 2nd language, and it wouldnt recognise the page where the user selected it from.
This isn’t how WPML normally works. Looks like this demo site was just built incorrectly. Whoever created it created the content in English and French independent of each other and not as ‘translations’. I’ll ask our compatibility team folks to work with Bridge team and correct the demo site. The demo site has two problems that you noticed – content not entered as translations; top-bar language switcher implemented completely wrong.
Anyway, this is an issue with the demo site. It’s not a problem in WPML or in Bridge theme. We’ll probably take off the link to this demo site until both problems are fixed.
Many thanks Amir, for your response. It will be helpful indeed if the Demo is corrected.
I have already purchased the theme Bridge, so I intend to use it. On your note, I will buy WPML and test it, trusting what you say, in regards that it will work properly.
However, should it not work, I trust that I will be able to have a full refund as stated on your site. Hope this is acceptable?
I want to use the WPML translation management. I would like to know if, after the translator finishes the translation, it will go for review for an admin?
I need that every translated post/page will be submitted to review by an admin. Is this possible with this tool?
Hi,
yes, this is possible.
Before you send your posts/pages to translation you need to go to
WPML > Translation Management > Multilingual Content Setup, locate the “Translated documents options” section and choose Draft.
Our client has a wpml site and we need urgent support to fix something. Their subscription has expired. Can I renew the subscription for $39 or do I need to get a new subscription to get support?
Hi Kevin, if you would like to raise tickets on your behalf you need to purchase WPML for yourself. Existing customers can renew their subscriptions anytime, they need to log into their WPML account and they will find a link to do so.
My question is fairly simple and seems partially answered in your main FAQ, but to be absolutely clear..
I have purchased the $29 version, I’d ultimately like to purchase the $195/lifetime later this month, however, I’d like to move up to the $79 CMS version first before I do that.
I do realise on your FAQ you can indeed update to the other versions but can I do twice?
$29 (current) -> $79 (-$29 difference today $50) -> $195 (-$79 difference later this month $116)
That’s correct. First you upgrade to the CMS (and you will pay the difference), you will be able to upgrade to the Lifetime 30 days before your CMS subscription expires (again, you will pay the difference). We will send you two reminders: one 30 days before, the next one a few days before your CMS subscription expires.
I’d like to purchase the lifetime version of WPML.
The checkout page it detects me as coming from “Spain”, where a 21% VAT applies.
However I live at Tenerife, which is a special Spain region, considered outside European Union in some things, inside for others. We have no VAT at all here. We have a local tax called I.G.I.C. that is the closest thing to VAT, but it’s 7%.
What should I do to pay IGIC 7% instead of VAT 21%?
Hi Pablo, this means that you need to buy only one WPML subscription and you can use it for all the sites you build for yourself or/and your customers.
Hello,
I have recently passed the year period (I did buy the 79$ version). When I logged in the last time I had the offer on paying the difference. At the time I postponed the renewal and today I logged in again to upgrade to a lifetime licence.
I realized now that the offer was ‘within the 1 year’ instead of ‘upgrade anytime paying the difference’.
I know I am asking for an exception but due to the recently expiry date, would it be possible to allow me to upgrade to lifetime for the difference (116$)?
Thanks
Hello,
let me check with out admins the status of your subscription (when it expired and if we sent you a reminder) to see if there is anything we can do for you. I will keep you posted.
Hi again,
you had a Multilingual CMS subscription that expired on March 14, 2016.
We are already on July so a couple of months have passed since you subscription passed.
Our records say hat the notification to remind of the subscription expiration was sent around March 11, 2016 and before that the first reminder was also sent in February 15, 2016.
I would need to know about license right for the plugin. If we – as a development company – purchase the lifetime package, are we allowed to install it on client websites or would we have to purchase one plugin per website owner, as website owner must be license owner.
If one license per website owner, my next question is: Can one license owner use the plugin for multiple websites as long as they are registered to the same name?
Good morning,
if you purchase the the lifetime package you are allowed to install it on all your client websites. So one WPML subscription will suffice.
I have a client who is interested in developing a multi language version of their current WP site. They currently use Kriesi’s Enfold theme so i can see that WPML is compatible. Glancing at the features page I see they would need the Multilingual CMS option.
I would like to evaluate WPML on their behalf – is there a demo site where we can explore the front and back ends? Or, failing that, is there a demo version I can download and install on a dummy dev site for experimentation?
Hi. I have an ecommerce website. I use Flatsome Theme. Is this theme supported? I can’t find it in the list. I used Pretty Email to send purchasing confirmation. How will this work with WPML? Do you I need to set up separated sub domain in order to get the email translated correctly? How about the currency? Can I set up separated currency for each language site or do I need a currency converter plug in? Thank you.
Hi Bob,
the Flatsome Theme wasn’t tested by our Compatibility Team. From what I can see in the change log the authors have been trying to solve compatibility issues but still there are some users report on our support forum.
If you plan to build a WooCommerce-based store with that theme, you won’t need an additional currency converter.
We never tested WPML with the Pretty Email plugin so I won’t help you much with your specific questions. What I would suggest – please buy WPML subscription keeping our refunds policy in mind and test it yourself.
You will be able to ask questions in our support forum. If it turns out that WPML doesn’t fit your needs, we will give your money back. Please ember that you will have 30 days to request a refund.
I have two websites, made by the same agency last year. clubfy.com with a shop, and firefy-poi.com without a shop. I apparently have a problem with my WMPL liscence causing some trouble only on the website firefy-poi.com.
I have wpml to manage multilingual and everything is fine on clubfy.com but it seem like it’s an evaluation version on firefy-poi.com and since a couple time we got serious trouble with this website. Our home page was fine but all the othe pages were showing error 404. At the moment WPML has been disabled and it seem to work.
Do I have a Liscence or an account with WPML for those websites ?
Is it under our compagnies name or under the agency ?
Business relationship with this agency did not go well recently as they were hosting our websites so we move hosted about a month ago. The problem appeared slightly before we moved our host compagnies. I contact you prior to them because they really lack professionalism.
Hi Philippe,
if WPML subscription was purchased on behalf on the agency, WPML can be used on the websites they have built (including yours) but only they can ask questions in our support forum. Our supporters can investigate the issues you have but to make this happen you need to have a valid WPML subscription purchased with your email (in order to log in and open a new ticket). I hope it helps.
We almost finished our website in language Dutch and now a really important question pops up before we launch our website.
After the launch we want to also translate all pages to English too. We don’t want do this with a cheap plugin / worse Google translation.. We really want to write everything in English (a professional translator will), we want the whole website in English, for the American market. Also including the SEO and other images (or the same images, other alt tags / titles) etc.
How do we have to do this now?
We made the Dutch website now on the .com url
So, after we launch the Dutch version, every url we share on social media will be for example: www____.com/eten-restaurant. That’s how is is right now..
If we launch the Dutch version now and meanwhile work on the English version: then we install the plugin and make English the main language for the website and the dutch version that is on .com now, will change to .com/nl of the Netherlands I think? And the English version has to be on the .com..
But then all the url’s we have shared now or… gone?
Or do I have to install a plugin now allready and start with having it on http://www.feelbonaire.com/nl on the beginning now before we launch the website?
But the question I have about that: if English is gonna be our main language and we don’t have the translation yet: people wil enter on an empty website? No… that can’t be possible right?
Do you know what the best solution? Can we launch now this Dutch version on .com/nl with a plugin? And make Dutch first language for now?
Then add the English version later on and change the main language later to English?
We really would now what to do before we launch the Dutch version and having trouble in about 2 or 3 months when we add the English version..
Can you tell us whitch plugin you use and what you’re solution would be? We never did this before..
Hi Sandra,
when you install WPML it will ask you to set up your site primary language which is the language your current content is posted in. So if you have your content already added in Dutch, please select Dutch. This way all your existing posts and pages will be automatically assigned to Dutch and your current permalinks won’t change. So for example if you have the “Over ons” page it will be yoursite.com/over-ons.
Then you can gradually add content in English. For example the translation of your “Over ons” page in Dutch will be “About us” with the following URL yoursite.com/en/about-us (don’t worry, only temporarily).
Don’t add the language switcher to your site until you are done with most of your English translations.
Once the English version of your site is ready and you would like to set English as you site’s primary language, feel free to do so. WPML allows you to change the primary language later. When you do this, your yoursite.com/over-ons page will become yoursite.com/nl/over-ons and the “About us” page will become yoursite.com/about-us.
I hope I understood your requirements well and this is what you have planned to achieve.
Hi Sandra,
yes, I have just seen your email (looks like we love in diffrent time zones). We use emails only to solve some special cases related to orders, issues with WPML accounts and the like. For technical issues we use support forum. Please create a ticket in our support forum. You can just copy paste what you sent in your email and one of our supporters will help you. Thank you very much.
Hi Sandra, yes, I saw your questions yesterday and I replied recommending to post these questions in our support forum. Only our supporters can investigate technical issues. You say “a lot of listings from the other language (Dutch) disappeared.” – this is a technical issue and I cannot do much here, using comments. I hope you undestand.

Exactly.
You are perfectly right.
Correct.
To further Ms Bury’s question regarding upgrades:
What would be the cost then if we wanted to upgrade to lifetime, but after the first year (or even second) has expired?
thx in advance,

In your WPML you will see this message:
You can buy a new account, or save by upgrading to a Lifetime account at a reduced rate.
Upgrade to a Lifetime account ($116.00 instead of $195.00). Buy the Multilingual CMS again ($79.00).

Hi can you tell me if WPML is compatible with the woocommerce braintree plugin?
https://www.skyverge.com/blog/woocommerce-braintree-version-3-0-released/
Can you also tell me if it is compatible with the paypal express plugin that comes with WC out of the box?
thanks

Hi Sam,
here’s the list of all WooCommerce extensions tested for WPML compatibility:
https://wpml.org/documentation/woocommerce-extensions-compatibility/
None of the plugins you mentioned is present on that list. There two other PayPal related plugins though.

Hi, you need to buy only one WPML subscription and you can use the WPML plugin for all your sites.
Hi There
We through the process of getting your licence that is free for schools, but we haven’t heard anything back for a while, can this be looked at?
Many Thanks
Hi David, the queue is long. I will contact my colleagues in charge to let them know that you asked.

Hi Marc,
WPML doesn’t translate automatically.
Ahh Ok. Thank you for the information. I will look elsewhere.
you may want to reword your initial paragraph under “Why Choose WPML?”
It’s complete
With WPML you can translate pages, posts, custom types, taxonomy, menus and even the theme’s texts.

?
If so, yes it is fully compatible with WPML, tested by our Compatibility Team:
https://wpml.org/theme/bridge/
You can start with the Blog subscription and upgrade to the CMS later (you will pay the difference)
Hello Agnes
Thank you for the link tested by your Compatibility Team (https://wpml.org/theme/bridge/), appreciated.
However, I noticed that the language toggle at the TOP BAR (exactly what I want) does NOT work (at least on Firefox) .. only the toggle on the Menu (which is not what I want)
Does that mean it will only work on the Menu?
Thanks

Hi. We are exploring your plugin for our bilingual library.
Our website is a Tibetan library of works. Can we add in WPML a new custom language such as Tibetan?
Thank you.

Hello,
Tibetan is not included in the list of default languages but you add it manually. This documentation will help:

Hi Kevin, you have made a good decision. And yes, the support is faster – we have a few supporters covering different time zones.
Hi Kevin, if you would like to raise tickets on your behalf you need to purchase WPML for yourself. Existing customers can renew their subscriptions anytime, they need to log into their WPML account and they will find a link to do so.

That’s correct. First you upgrade to the CMS (and you will pay the difference), you will be able to upgrade to the Lifetime 30 days before your CMS subscription expires (again, you will pay the difference). What does the field ‘unlimited websites’ imply?
Do I have to purchase a license per website?
Can I use one license for three websites?
Hi Pablo, this means that you need to buy only one WPML subscription and you can use it for all the sites you build for yourself or/and your customers.
Does the Woocommerce integration allows to have the same sku for all languages?
Thanks!
Yes, that’s one of the features of WooCommerce Multilingual.
Hello,
I have recently passed the year period (I did buy the 79$ version).
So in that case we cannot make an exception.
Time flies by! Thank you for taking in consideration my request.
Good afternoon,
I would need to know about license right for the plugin.
Please provide some feedback concerning this.
Thank you!
Good morning,

Business relationship with this agency did not go well recently as they were hosting our websites so we move hosted about a month ago. The problem appeared slightly before we moved our host compagnies. I contact you prior to them because they really lack professionalism.
Thank’s alot for your assistance.
I have a question about your plugin:
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Sandra
Hi Sandra,
when you install WPML it will ask you to set up your site primary language which is the language your current content is posted in.

Hello Agnes,
Did you see my question above? it was at 12.42 pm
Kind regards,
Sandra
Hi Sandra, yes, I saw your questions yesterday and I replied recommending to post these questions in our support forum. Only our supporters can investigate technical issues. You say “a lot of listings from the other language (Dutch) disappeared.” – this is a technical issue and I cannot do much here, using comments. I hope you undestand.
