I see when I try to buy the WPML for my company which is based in Croatia (EU) you add 25% VAT for my country, which is correct, but your company is not in the EU and that means you will get 25% more money, my expenses rise for 25% and my company can’t get back that 25% VAT because your company is not inside EU territories.
Why do you charge me this 25% extra then? Your invoice should be without any VAT, if the invoice is not from an EU country, in my case.
Hi Tomislav,
Due to new regulations in the EU, we are required to collect VAT for WPML, when selling to individuals without a VAT number in the EU. No matter if we are in the EU or not, we have to add VAT when selling to EU customers without a VAT number.
If you have a VAT number you won’t be changed. Please note that EU VAT Validation system we are connecting with is not working at the moment, please try again later. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Hello, right, today there are some issues with the EU VAT Validation system we are connecting with. Please try again later. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Hello,
I’m a web designer, and I build French websites using English/US Themes. Is the WPML plugin the right solution for me to translate all the default text that come with the theme? I do NOT build multi-lingual websites, only 1 version in French.
Thank you for your answer.
Mila
We are going to build a website for a Christian Church in Italy using the free wordpress template pinnacle. The website needs the multilanguage capabilities. We would like to manage/create the translations on each page/content/menus/widgets etc for each individual language.
I would like to know if with the basic package you offer I will be able to have that capability? We are short in funds, so any savings it helps.
Also if I want to have 4 different languages (English, Italian, Spanish and German) do we need to create 4 times each indivual page?
“Also if I want to have 4 different languages (English, Italian, Spanish and German) do we need to create 4 times each indivual page?”
Yes, in oder to translate it.
Please see this documentation to check how you create custom language switcher. Please note that such a change would be considered as a custom change so might be out of our support scope (in same cases our supporters do help with simple custom coding though)
Can you please confirm if each translated blog post will have a unique permalink? Or will it be the same link and will just auto-direct to the correct language based on the country the user has selected? (we are a global service so want to be able to share 1 link on our social accounts)
Also do you have any screenshots of the process for translating an existing English blog post? This wasn’t included in your info video
when you create a page a post or a page in a given language, first thing first you need to enter its title, then the slug will be created automatically based on the title you put (the same applies to creating regular WP pages/posts).
Hi Peter, you can get started with the Blog version and if it turns out that you need the CMS one you can easily upgrade for the difference in purchase price. This theme wasn’t tested by our compatibility team but page from the link you shared with me says it is WPML compatible.
Does lifetime/unlimited licence allow me as web agency to install & register WPML for all clients for whom I provide website creation and/or maintenance services?
(we do a lot of hacked website cleanups and as WPML is the most common place for hiding backdoors we’d like to upgrade them all to latest versions and install licence from our account, to avoid any future issues they may have due to expiring licence etc)
Hey Peeter, yes it does. You pay once (= buy only one WPML subscription) and you can use it for or all clients for whom you provide website creation and/or maintenance services.
I’m setting up WPML for woo commerce on or internal test server to see if it will work with our content but i’m missing the following:
“WooCommerce Multilingual is enabled but not effective. It requires WPML, WPML Translation Management, WPML String Translation and WPML Media in order to work”
how do I acquire these for testing? We’re very interested in purchasing for the live site if functional.
To test WPML you need to buy it. If you are not sure if it meets your requirements please note that our refunds policy lets you test it for 30 day without any risk. If it turns outs that your are not completely satisfied, just fill out this form: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
and we will refund your order. During that probation period you can ask question on our support forum.
i have a website that is in german. I want to translate it to 2 other languages, but i want to hide parts of the original website, as the blog and some other sites that i won´t translate and where i have no need to show to visitors in the other languages
Would i need to install the website in subdomains for each language or do i have the possibility to do this somehow with WPML?
Hello,
you can “hide” some of your contents for different languages. You simply don’t translate certain pages. Your menus don’t need to be the same for all languages. You don’t need to install your website in subdomains. Just install WPML and it will do the rest – you will be able to choose whether to display other languages in subdomains or in subfolders.
Hello,
thanks for the answer.
Just to have this clear.. On my Website (home) there appear different contents. one of those is a preview to some blog entries, as here: http://prnt.sc/e01jpy
with wpml i can choose to not show this for the other languages somehow?
You just need to create a new version of your homepage for the other languages and don’t include the elements you don’t need. I don’t know how your homepage has been built. If your theme is compatible with WPML it should be possible.
Hello, somehow my message before got deleted, so once again. Sorry for bothering, i just want to have this really clear.
When you say “You just need to create a new version of your homepage”, I would have to make one separate install where i copy the original site to, and from there i manage the 2 additional languages? The original site still will be linked with the 2 other ones?
I don`t really get this and i need do be safe about this functionality to do the purchase or not
Right. With WPML, you only run one WordPress site. WPML adds languages to this site and arranges languages neatly in the front-end. For example, in our site, you will see https://wpml.org/es/ . This is our Spanish homepage. It’s a coming from the same WordPress install running https://wpml.org
Sorry for asking too much, i just want to be sure..
So, when you say “You just need to create a new version of your homepage for the other languages”, that would mean that i once copy the whole website to create the 2 other versions in subfolders, right? and still i would have all 3 sites connected?
the theme i use is bedentist and it claims to work well with wpml
which version of wpml would i need to have this work fine?
thanks again

Hi,
I am in the process of buying the lifetime license for wordpress. As I read in the terms and conditions this give me the possibility to use the plugin in as many sites I want and for as many years I want.
The question is, I still have the site under development, so I would be sharing my license number with the developer who then will be able to use the license in my name -although I have no intentions to grant him that permission. Hence, is it possible to have a developer or temporal license until the site is full op, and the apply the real license? How do you deal with this?
Hello,
when you buy WPML you are getting access to your WPML account. It means you can access all WPML plugins to download – both current and future releases and you can also ask questions on our support forum. Only the WPML account’s owner has this privilege. If you share WPML plugins with somebody else, there is no way to protect them from using that copy on other site by them but only the person who can log into a WPML account can access WPML future releases and use our support forum. I hope it helps.
Hi I would like to add WMPL plugin to my website to translate / convert language from English to Arabic. Can you confirm is WMPL can translate English to Arabic? what are the Price for WMPL CMS ? Yes, you can use WPML to build a multilingual site in English and Arabic. Arabic is a RTL language so it would be best to choose a theme that supports RTL. You will find that information on your theme’s website. For example Avada, the famous WordPress theme, supports RTL and it is also WPML compatible, so translated pages will display correctly when you use WPML.
I am just trying to clarify if you support automatic translation for websites. I believe this is what the ‘string translation’ is but could you please confirm this for me?
We currently use gTranslate as a plugin which automatically translates a website in to multiple different languages, however we’re looking to use something more robust and allow for professional translations to be added at a later date which WPML seems perfect for.
Sorry, but WPML doesn’t translate content automatically. WPML lets you run WordPress sites in several languages. You can translate yourself or get help from translation services. However, WPML doesn’t translate the content automatically.
Importnat: if your goal is to have a multilingual site (a site in more than one language) you should buy WPML. If your goal is only to translate theme you don’t need WPML.
It was developed by one of our developers who knows both Polylang and WPML well. This plugin will help you to migrate our data created Polylang to WPML>

Hello, right, today there are some issues with the EU VAT Validation system we are connecting with. Please try again later. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yes, resolved now. Sorry about this trouble.

Hello Mila,
you can translate strings coming from themes and plugins with WPML:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/theme-localization/
but if you don’t need your website to be multilingual, there is not need to use WPML. You can use a plugin like this one.

Yes, in oder to translate it.
Agnes thank you very much for your prompt reply. We will apply as soon as I manage to download the theme. Have a lovely day!
Good morning
Your translation plugin, the layout can you have rows like you have on the bottom of your site.
You show two rows starting English to Japanese, and the second row you have five more languages.
Can you have numerous rows? I would want them at the top oft he page.
Thank you
Hi Dave,
it won’t work out of the box like this but seems doable with custom coding.

Please see this documentation to check how you create custom language switcher. Please note that such a change would be considered as a custom change so might be out of our support scope (in same cases our supporters do help with simple custom coding though)

WPML doesn’t translate automatically. The following doc covers all methods to translate your content when you use WPML:

I hope it helps.
Hi guys,
I made a website for my company and I would like to translate it in different languages with your plugin.
I made the website in the Satellite7 WordPress theme: https://themeforest.net/item/satellite7-retina-multipurpose-wordpress-theme/5622532
I just want to translate the content and nothing else by myself. I think I need the Blog version of your plugin but I’m not sure. Is that true?
Please reply by e-mail.
Thanks.

Sorry forgot to add, is the subscription fee of $39 for support or to continue using the product?
Dear WMPL team,
Is it possible to order the 195$ WMPL via bank transfer? If yes, could you send me the invoice, please?
Hi Alexander, I’m sorry but it is not. You can use either PayPal or pay via Credit Card with 2Checkout secure card processing.

Right. With WPML, you only run one WordPress site. WPML adds languages to this site and arranges languages neatly in the front-end. For example, in our site, you will see https://wpml.org/es/ . This is our Spanish homepage. It’s a coming from the same WordPress install running https://wpml.org
ok thank you. last question regarding this..
if this would be my website in english: https://www.templatemonster.com/demo/58654.html
and i install this to spanish and german. i can get rid of the blogposts shown on the bottom (recent news) for those two versions?
thanks for clearifying this to me once again
Hello,
the items at the bottom of your homepage are widgets. You should get rid of them easily for both versions. WPML works well with widgets.
Sorry for asking too much, i just want to be sure..
So, when you say “You just need to create a new version of your homepage for the other languages”, that would mean that i once copy the whole website to create the 2 other versions in subfolders, right? and still i would have all 3 sites connected?

Hello,
What it the price to upgrade from the CMS to the lifetime version during the 1st year ?
Also, can we use the plugin for different website ?
Regards,
Romain
Hello,
$116, yes, you can use WPML for different website (one subscription is enough).
I’m also getting the VAT API error:
VAT API Error: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 25001 milliseconds with 0 bytes received
Is this still happening when you try to buy? The server of the VAT office had hiccups yesterday, but it appears to be working correctly today.

hello, i may be looking to purchase your plugin, can you confirm whether each language can have the following url structure
http://www.domain.com (Main Lang)
http://www.domain.com/fr/ (Main French Page)
http://www.domain.com/es/ (Main Spain Page)
Please confirm, thanks.
Yes. This is the default language-URL configuration that you’ll get with WPML. The default language sits in the root and there are paths for other languages.
Hello,
Any possibility of getting a discount for the unlimited lifetime license?
Thank you
Sorry, but we don’t have discounts for WPML. We keep the same price for everyone, at all times. This way, you know that you’re getting the same fair deal as anyone else.
Are these plugins on your website? these are needed to run WPML on my Woocommerce site.
Minimum versions for WPML and modules:
WPML Multilingual CMS – 3.4
WPML String Translation – 2.0
WPML Translation Management – 2.2
WPML Media – 2.1
Yes, all these plugins are available either in the Multilingual CMS or the Lifetime subscription.
