Hi Jake, all of our subscriptions (Blog, CMS, Lifetime) allow you to use WPML on the sites of your clients. In other words, you need to buy only one subscription and you can use WPML for all websites you build.
Could plugin work if I import all records (tours) into custom table “Tours” (see screenshot https://s.mail.ru/Af4v/EyM6xfCpY )? Should I turn on all langs for all records manually after import? If yes, is it Pro version of plugin?

Hi
I mind import 1000+ tours by All import plugin (https://s.mail.ru/LF5w/JyyPLkNxp). There are new posts, not have been already in site. When I import it directly into custom table ‘Tours’ how to translate it automatically (by integrated service or by computer) and put into other pages separated beetwin languages. Simply. There are some sites where I get tours. This tours on rus language on those sites. When I parsing all tours I need it translate into 5 languages and save into my site on all languages separatelly (for SEO).
How to work it out?
Hello,
WPML doesn’t translate automatically. If you want to use one of the translation services, you can send them your Tour posts using a bulk edit option but send several posts as once (up to 100 posts in a single action) to a translation service but please note that these are paid services. Please check the prices here https://wpml.org/documentation/content-translation/compare-translation-services/
Thanks Agnes.
You replied early ‘ Please note that WPML doesn\’t translate your content automatically.’. What does it mean? If I import 1000+ tours once, how manage do it computer translated (not service) on 5 languages? Is it will be automatically OR I have to bulk it manually each record (tour)?
Yes, if you want to translate the tours yourself in WordPress, you need to enter each translation manually. If you want to send to translation services you can use a bulk edit to add up to 100 items to your translation basket at a time. If you want to upload your posts from a CVS file, you will need to provide translation as well. WPML doesn’t translate your contents, it provides an interface to enter the translations.
Hello Vítor,
Yes, $39 and yes, you need to renew to have access to our support forum and new releases. If you don’t renew, the version of WPML you installed will continue working. You can also upgrade to the Lifetime subscription later for the difference in purchase price.
Hello,
in that case you don’t need to create this extra folder (lang). If your goal is to keep the main website as-is, you just install WPML and set your current (main) website language as your primary language. All pages and posts you have had so far won’t change (both on the front-end and the back-end) only because WPML is active. If you translate your pages now, they will appear under the language folders (es or pg etc) but your original posts and pages (and the entire website in your primary language) will look the same as it they would like if no WPML is installed.
The only difference will be that now you will see a language switched somewhere. But you decide yourself where to display the language switcher (in the footer, in the mane, in the sidebar).
We are performing a multi-site WordPress install (17 languages), for a industrial directory. Is WPML an suitable solution. Do you have more information regarding WPML and use in a multisite install scenario? In addition to having a multisite install for a singlle industrial vertical, we are wondering about complication between other industrial vertifcals that we would like to use the same database and wordpress install. For example, we are wondering about using WPML for multiple industrial websites (eg. bikes, tosys, medical directories ). Each directory would support multiple languages and use WPML. All directories would use a single instance of Wordrpess. Basically, I would like to set p languages for different subdomains in a multisite install. .Please advise, Jason
Hi Jason,
WPML works in the WordPress Multisite mode. If each of your sites represent a separate sector (bike, toys, etc) but they all exists under one WP and domain and now you want to have each of them in a few languages, you can use WPML to configure it. We did something similar here: http://discover-wp.com/site-templates/. Please pick a site, for example this one http://drag-and-drop-wordpress.discover-wp.com/, scroll to the bottom and you will see that this site is available in diffrent languages. Then again, choose another site, for example this one and do the same.
Please note that WPML doesn’t translate automatically.
Do you know if this is possible with your plugin? Here’s the scenario. Main site is in English and the other version is in German. Question involves different Woocommerce products in the different languages. For example:
English – Product 1, and Product 2
German – Product 1, Product 2, Product 3
Is it possible to have Product 3 only in German but no listing for Product 3 in English?
Hello Pat, yes, this is possible. WPML and the WooCommerce Multilingual plugins allow to you have products with their counterparts in the other language (doesn’t matter if the product is “missing” in your primary or secondary language).
1) Can I purchase the $79 option and if it does what I want it do upgrade to the lifetime plan within 1 month of my initial purchase?
2) To expedite things I may purchase the plugin, and then later (~ 1 month) would like to transfer ownership over to the client. Is it possible for me to transfer ownership to another person?
Hi Pat,
1. Yes, you can.
2. Well, we don’t support transferring ownership (invoice issues etc) but technically it is possible to change your email in your WPML account. Please note that you don’t need to transfer the ownership. Instead, register your customer’s site and they will be able to manage WPML upgrades directly from their WordPress back-end and you, as the subscription’s owner will be able to use WPML for your other customers.
I need to know a more about Taxonomy Translation. I have thousand of custom taxonomy terms and translating these terms manually in another 2 languages one by one will waste my too much time. I don’t have posts to translate so is there any way I can translate terms in bulk using CSV/XML import?
Any way I add only default language terms to website database and can load translated terms directly from files so that WPML translator looks into files and not in database for terms translation.
so it seems doable. Please note that you can buy WPML and test it for 30 days without any risk. In case you are not satisfied please use our refund policy.
Hi,
Now, I’m using woo-commerce with Flatsome theme. I plan to create multilingual website, but I cannot find a solution to import 1000 products with English and Thai languages by using Excel.
I found that WPML will help me to create multilingual website, but I don’t have any idea to import my product. Do you have any suggestion to solve this problem?
Also, I’d like to ask whether WPML compatibles with Flatsome themes. I could not find this theme in “A List of Multilingual-Ready Themes, Compatible with WPML”.
I’m not familiar with the subscriptions/membership account of WooCommerce so I suggest checking with WooCommerce folks which subscription you need to buy in order to have the “Import Products from any XML or CSV to WooCommerce” plugin.
For WPML, you need either the “Multilingual CMS” or the “Multilingual CMS Lifetime” subscription and all our plugins will be there.
I understand that, but after talking with my team, we don’t need multilingual website. We need only plug-in that can help us to import products included “product variations”.
I went to “http://www.wpallimport.com/order-now/” to check the price, but I don’t know what should I buy. What are your recommendations?
Hi,
I’ve understood that your plugin give the possibilitie to translate text but it is possible to manage picture, sliders,…
I want to have specific slider and picture for each version of my website. Because of text inside pictures.
So when i switch i need different picture too.
Hello,
WPML allows you to translate various elements including sliders and images but details depend on the theme and plugins you use. If a theme (or/and plugin) has been tested by our Compatibility theme it means you will be able to translate everything. Please check the following to list to see if your themes and plugins are covered: https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/ https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/
Here are the codes for German languages:
German – Austria de de-at
German – Germany de de-de
German – Liechtenstein de de-li
German – Luxembourg de de-lu
German – Switzerland de de-ch
So you main domain won’t change but the language folders will have names according to the codes above.
If a certain page doesn’t change at all (the exact same content should be used for a different region, you can “translate” that page using the WPML “duplicate” options which will use the same page version for both languages.
If you don’t plan to “translate” elements such as sliders, widgets, image for your regions, the “Blog” subscription should suffice in your case. You can get started with the Blog subscription and if it turns out that you need to upgrade to the CMS one, you can do it later from your WPML account and for the difference in purchase price.
So far I have been unable to make the front page bilingual with Polylang. When I try to switch something in the english version of the front page (with the customize tools), it also switches the french version… Also, Polylang only shows a few translatable strings.
Can WPML help me doing a fully working bilingual website with this Llorix one lite child theme?
Hello Gabriel,
I didn’t test the theme with WPML but my guessing is that you can experience the same issues when using WPML. The thing is, this theme uses some custom options which require “special treatment”. The theme wasn’t tested by our Compatibility Team. When our Compatibility Team test a theme to make it fully compatible with WPML they add a special file called wpml config which will help you to translate all “tricky” strings coming from your them custom options. If you have some coding skills you can give it a try and create such a file yourself. https://wpml.org/documentation/support/language-configuration-files/
You can also buy WPML keeping our refund policy in mind which allows you to test WPML for 30 days without any risk.
If we purchase the Most Popular plan, are security updates included in the future after the one year support, or do we need to buy the lifetime support plan?
Hello, to continue receiving updates, including security updates, you will need to upgrade from the “Most popular” to the Lifetime after the first year (you will pay the difference).
Hello
I purchased a subscription last month.
I installed the plugin and I started facing problems on my site. Then I contacted Technical support to get help.
But suddenly I don´t have access to the thread Support I was holding because it says I have no subscription?
Could you please check? My order number is: WPML-1209426
Hello David,
our system says that your oder has been refunded. So it means you don’t have an active WPML subscription and you need an active WPML subscription to access our support help.
I purchased the plugin and got a refund because I had no idea it didn’t translate. Now I have found someone to translate but they know nothing about wordpress so I will purchase it again but I need someone to install it and help me understand how it works so I can explain it to my Chinese translator. Is this possible?
Hi Tanya,
our supporters can help you a bit and point you out to relevant videos or user manuals. But if you need a custom help, you would need to ask one of our certified contractors https://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-contractors/
We have a website that we would love to have translations from English to various languages.
We also have a WooCommerence section selling products. Those products are listed in Inches or Decimals. Our out of US customers would be needing Metric sizes.
If we were to use WPML that’s set via the domain, would WPML still need to use cookies? WPML adds a cookie that forces anonymous traffic to bypass Varnish cache.
Hello, you are looking for a way to disable cookies used by WPML? Let me consult this issue with our WPML developers to provide you with the best answer.
The last iteration of WPML does not store cookies for anonymous visitors.
However, even for anonymous traffic, when doing AJAX calls, we need to know what’s the current language.
To do so, we should store the current language of the anonymous user in a cookie.
This is a functionality which can be optionally enabled (disabled by default) by the site admin and will be available in the next version of WPML.
I’d rather not to provide any ETAs not to disappoint you if our plans change suddenly but you can subscribe to our WPML Blog where we announce all new releasing including beta versions.
Hello, this is what our WPML lead developer says: WPML 3.7.0 will use the cookies for any logged user. For not logged users (that is, anonymous users), no cookies are created. However, in some cases, the site admin may need to enable the front-end cookie for anonymous users. This will be an opt-in setting and might be needed if the front-end uses AjAX calls which must handle or return content in the current language. If this doesn’t answer your question, please provide more details to explain your specific case.
I want to buy WPML. I’m a bit confuse about WPML being packages… If I’m buying the multilangual cms lifetime for 195 $US. I’ll everything right. If I do download this package I’ll several packages? Also with this package I’ll will be able to use it for every wordpress I’ll be making or is it just for this one?
Hello Hugo,
1. Yes, WPML Lifetime subscription includes several WPML plugins (WPML core and some additional ones). You will see all of them in your WPML account and you can download them.
2. Yes, you can use all of these WPML plugins for all of your sites (including the sites you build for your customers)
Hi I’m a bit confuse about WPML working in package. If I purchase the mutlilangual CMS Lifetime… do I get everything (all necessary package) I need to translate everything needed on my wordpress site?
Also Is this package for one website only or I can do several website with this “subscription” and do it forever? having free update and all?…
Your commend was waiting for moderation. I have just replied. To sum up – you buy one subscription and can use it for all your site (if you buy the Lifetime version, yes, you can use them forever)
Hi.
I was wondering if there is any version of WPML that I can use on the sites of my clients.
Thanks!

I found a similar comment in your support forum as well:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/bulk-translating-categories-and-tags/
but see no update on this feature yet.
I hardly need this feature so please tell me if I can achieve this with your plugin easily then I will purchase WPML plugin.
Thanks,
Subodh
Hello,
I’m sorry, we don’t have this feature.
What you could consider using instead:
https://wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/terms.png
or XLIFF files
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-desktop-cat-tools/configuring-xliff-file-options/
Any way I add only default language terms to website database and can load translated terms directly from files so that WPML translator looks into files and not in database for terms translation.
No, only by using XLIFF files, as suggested previously please check the screenshot.

It is possible if you use the Pro version of the WordPress XML Import. WordPress CSV Import plugin.
http://www.wpallimport.com/
http://www.wpallimport.com/woocommerce-product-import/
plus
WPML and WPML All Import plugins (these two are included in the WPML CMS and Lifime package)
I don’t quite sure. For WPallImport, which version should I buy? Woocommerce, Elite, or Standard?
I’m not*
I’m not familiar with the subscriptions/membership account of WooCommerce so I suggest checking with WooCommerce folks which subscription you need to buy in order to have the “Import Products from any XML or CSV to WooCommerce” plugin.

The list of plugins and themes compatible with is up to date. If you didn’t find your theme/plugin there it means that it wasn’t tested but our team.
Hi,
We intent using WooMultistore.
Is WPML compatible to this extension?
Thanks, Thomas
All WooCommerce extensions that integrate with WPML and tested by our Compatibility Team are listed here:https://wpml.org/documentation/woocommerce-extensions-compatibility/
The WooMultistore isn’t so we cannot say how it works with WPML. You can give it a try and test yourself keeping our refund policy in mind.

WPML allows you to translate various elements including sliders and images but details depend on the theme and plugins you use. Hi,
I would like to use WMPL to geotarget a .com domain with differente language subfolders. Your plugin seems to be a good solution for this right?
Which license do I have to choose? All 3 versions will be in german with the same content (max. minor changes)?
How does the site structure of WMML look like. Could I just have .com/de for germany .com/at for austria, etc.?
Greetings
Yes, you can configure WPML to handle diffrent German languages.
This user manual should help:
https://wpml.org/documentation/support/editing-wpmls-languages-table/
Here are the codes for German languages:
German – Austria de de-at
German – Germany de de-de
German – Liechtenstein de de-li
German – Luxembourg de de-lu

our supporters can help you a bit and point you out to relevant videos or user manuals. But if you need a custom help, you would need to ask one of our certified contractors https://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-contractors/
where can i find a list of lanquages i want to know if i can have greek
Yes, WPML supports Greek
here’s the list of languages:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/pre-configured-languages/
Please note that WPML doesn’t translate automatically.
We have a website that we would love to have translations from English to various languages.
We also have a WooCommerence section selling products. Those products are listed in Inches or Decimals. Our out of US customers would be needing Metric sizes.
1) Does this plugin work with WooCommerence?
2) Will it convert to metrics?
Thanks in advance.
Hello Paul,
1. Yes, it does. Please check the following page for details:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/
2. This is possible, but you would need to use “Attributes” to handle that. For example create an attribute called “size” and enter values you need for each language. Please check: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/#taxonomies. instead of “Large” you can use “1 lb”, “10 m” and etc.
Hi,
So if I translate my site to spanish per say and someone does a search for that term in Goggle, would my site come up under the /es/ hrflag?
Hey Carlos, yes that should happen if you provide good translations (provided by humans).
Hi there,
If we were to use WPML that’s set via the domain, would WPML still need to use cookies? WPML adds a cookie that forces anonymous traffic to bypass Varnish cache.
Also is there any update on this: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/varinish-not-caching-our-site-because-of-icl-current_language-cookie/#post-1046103
Thanks for the response. Do you have an approximate ETA for the next version?
I’d rather not to provide any ETAs not to disappoint you if our plans change suddenly but you can subscribe to our WPML Blog where we announce all new releasing including beta versions.
Would this still be an issue if we setup the WPML to use separate domains to serve the different languages?
I.e; domain.com & domain.jp
yes, this page explains the details:
https://wpml.org/2016/04/use-wpml-different-domains-per-language/
Hi there,
Sorry, but I’m just confirming but would the cookie still need to be used with the separate TLD?
Hello, this is what our WPML lead developer says: WPML 3.7.0 will use the cookies for any logged user. For not logged users (that is, anonymous users), no cookies are created. However, in some cases, the site admin may need to enable the front-end cookie for anonymous users. This will be an opt-in setting and might be needed if the front-end uses AjAX calls which must handle or return content in the current language. If this doesn’t answer your question, please provide more details to explain your specific case.

Also Is this package for one website only or I can do several website with this “subscription” and do it forever? having free update and all?…
Your commend was waiting for moderation. I have just replied. To sum up – you buy one subscription and can use it for all your site (if you buy the Lifetime version, yes, you can use them forever)
Dear,
Is it possible to start with a Multilingual CMS for one year ($79) and to upgrade after one year to a Multilingual CMS lifetime for $116 (=$195-$79)?
Kind regards,

yes, it works exactly as you described.
