Hello,
I own an advertising agency. We recently began to make websites for our clients, and most of all with WordPress, that is really an mazing tool right now !
I’m actually doing a website for a client that requires the use of Multilanguages. I would like to confirm with you that I can buy the full CMS version in the name of my agency and that I will be able to use it on every client’s website that I will need after ? (conidering the fact that the subscription should be renewed every year).
Thank you for your answer that will help me to take my decision.
I would like to know if WPML is compatible the following plugins:
– Min and Max Quantity for WooCommerce
– WooCommerce Advanced Product Quantities
A friend of mine said he had problems because he need those plugins but it is not working with WPML. He has a WooCommerce website and upload the products in English but the plugins are interferring with WPML. The plugins are not working for other languages on the website.
Please advice because I am also working on a multilingual webshop and those plugins must work with WMPL.
if your plugin don’t appear on that list it means that it wasn’t tested by our Compatibility Team and you might have issues. I cannot see the plugins you are interested on our list so you can consider them not compatible.
All I want to do is offer tools in two currencies US and BSP. When a person is at a product page does it now show the 2 prices or do I create separate product pages in WooCommerce?
When they put the product in the cart does it show the 2 currencies or the single one?
Can I integrate with a Stripe account and accept both currencies?
Hello Brad,
a visitor will see a product in one currency and then he/she can use the currency switcher to see this product in another currency. Please see this screenshot. It comes from this page where you can read more about using different currencies.
It wasn’t tested by our Compatibility Team but I can see that some of our customers are using it but having issues. Let me contact our developers to check details.
Just want to clarify one item…by purchasing and installing the plugin, we will be able to begin translating website right away…or do we then need to subscribe to a third party translation service in order to make the translations work?
Hello Frankie,
using third party translation services is optional. You can translate your contents yourself. WPML doesn’t translate automatically. If you can provide your own translations you can insert them immediately after installing and setting up WPML.
I plan on building WordPress themes and interested in offering my themes as WPML compatible. What version and how to proceed to make sure my themes are compatible for others who use or plan to use WPML? Thanks
Website will be Kalspage.com – some of it is uploaded but….
– we are switching to APPThemes – ClassiPress and using this in WordPress.
Is it compatible with WPML? We want customers to click on different regions all over the World and when they do we want that region to come up in their language not English which would be the classified ads language by default.
And… if they land on say a Spanish page, and see a Spanish version of the page, can they change the language if they need to?
Hello Rossie,
WPML is compatible with the ClassiPress theme, last tested with Version 3.4.5 (02/Aug/2016).
If a theme was been tested by our CompatibilityTeam (the ClassiPress has been), it means that you can translate all your site’s elements.
Your customers/visitors can change the language using a language switcher. It appears in any page in any language. If they find your website through Google there is a big chance they will already “land” on a page in their language. WPML also has an option (disabled by default) to detect the user language and automatically redirect them to their language version.
Hello Jane,
here’s a list of WPML default languages. Please note that you can add any language to WPML. This page explains the details. You need to know their language codes. Please note that WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically.
Hi Dor,
you can set either English or Hebrew as your primary language (both scenarios are possible). You can start building your website in one langue and add the other language(s) later.
WPML supports RTL but best would be to choose a theme that is RTL ready (so you don’t need to add custom CSS). Here’s a list of all themes compatible with WPML: https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/
Hello, thanks for your interest in WPML. Here are my answers:
1. You pay the difference: $116
2. Yes, we do.
3. refunds are quick (it takes us up to a few days to refund your order).
4. Yes, you can get started here https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/
5. Yes, domain.com/fr/ is one of the options you can choose.
6. if you have your WordPress set up to use the SEO friendly links, WPML will also use them.
If you already have the Blog subscription (and it’s active), please log into your site and you will the options available for you with prices.
If you don’t have a WPML subscription yet and you need the String Translation plugin, you need to buy the “CMS” version ($79) and you will be able to upgrade to the “Lifetime” version later for the difference in purchase price.
Hello,
I’m going to need some automatic translation as well. My website will be powered by user submitted content, lots of it. For example, I would like the ability to auto translate forum posts and also classified posts. It doesn’t look like this application has an automatic element to it.
If WPML does have some auto translate element could you please send me to the info that explains it?
If not, are there any plugins that will integrate with WPML to allow for some auto translations?
Hello Jamie,
WPML doesn’t have any auto translate elements and options. I’m don’t know which plugins that allow auto translations you could use. I’ve been always a fan of human-made translations since only such translations provide a value to search engines (and will better serve visitors as well).
Thanks for your response.
The problem is that I need both auto and human-made translations. Human made for navigation, registration, and other “important” parts of the website and auto-translation for things like forum posts where accuracy isn’t quite as important. It might not be a bad idea to start integrating that into you product as auto-translations are only going to get better in the future.
I agree with your statement about ‘human-made’ translations, however, it is really hard to translate what could be 100’s of posts every day. Is your plugin compatible with auto-translate plugins such as the Ajax Translator Revolution Plugin?
Thanks
I see your point now. Here’s the list of all plugins compatible with WPM. I cannot see the “Ajax Translator Revolution” plugin on that list (and any other auto translation plugin) but it only means that this specific plugin hasn’t been tested by our Compatibility Team and it may work. Just a quick question, from your point of view what makes more sense:

Hello, both options are possible but I would recommend #2 for the following reason: if it turns out that your theme is not fully compatible with WPML and you cannot translate importnat elements, you can change the theme.
Hi, I have bought WPML last year and built my multilanguage website successfully. But yesterday I found the translated pages can not be shown. The default English page is okay but I cant reach the content of pages in other languages. As my account has expired I can not access to the technical support to ask questions. but I suppose you should at least guarantee that the website can run normally when I didnt update anything… please let me know how should I deal with this issue right now.
Hello,
yes, if your WPML-based website worked normally and you didn’t update anything, it should continue working fine. Are you sure you didn’t upgrade your WordPress (or it didn’t update automatically)? It’s impossible to make our WPML plugin compatible with future WordPress releases.
Our supporters can investigate this issue for you but you need to have an active WPML subscription. Please log into your WPML account and check what options you have available. For “old” customers we offer a discount to upgrade to the Lifetime. You can also consider renewing your subscription for another year but without an active subscription we cannot even check what exactly happened on your site.
I have just installed WooCommerce Multilingual module on my WordPress site, but it require some of these extra modules:
WPML
WPML Media
WPML Translation Management
WPML String Translation
I think the required modules are supported by WPML.org, so I go here to ask what modules do I need to buy from WPML.org? Does the list of modules above are provided by WPML.org? Can you make sure that WooCommerce Multilingual module will be fully active if I buy and install those required modules above?
I also want to know how much do I spend for purchase the modules from WPML.org. My budget is about $25+.

Hello,
I am about to make a big change on my website, I will then use DIVI from Eleganth themes and will need two languages and completely new content/layout. I am thinking on buying the Multilingual CMS Lifetime version as I need a couple of languages.
But, I would like to “manually” translate all the content to another language. Is it only with the blogversion you can translate “manually”.
Or – do I in the multilingual CMS liftetime have a choice? That I do my own translations with my own text/content. What, except for my own text, will be possible to choose to get translated automatically?
If that does not work – do you have a suggestion on what plugin to use if I want two languages (possible 3 in the future).

Hello Kina,
WPML doesn’t translate automatically so doesn’t matter which WPML subscription you use, you need to provide your own translations. WPML works well with Divi.

Thanks a lot, Agnes – that makes sense, to be honest 🙂
So, we’ll so that first, before we do all the work – the theme should be ok, but it’s not verified from your end – so we’ll see.

Hello Nguyen,
that’s correct – the WooCommerce Multilingual plugin requires WPML plugins to work. Please check the list here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/#required-plugins
This set of plugins is included in the “Multilingual CMS subscription ($79)” or in the “Lifetime” ($195)

Your question was waiting for moderation. I have just replied.
Hello,
I will be using WPML to setup additional languages/regions for an English website. Is it best to use only language codes in a sub-directory or country codes. My client wants to target:
1) South Korea: Use mysite/ko or mysite/kr?
2) Mexico: Use mysite/es or mysite/mx?
Thanks for the advice in advance!
Hello, here’s the list of predefined languages used by WPML
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/pre-configured-languages/
Korean is included so it will use the language code defined in WPML.
You can add other language (and their codes) manually according to this manual.
https://wpml.org/documentation/support/editing-wpmls-languages-table/
This is the list of codes that can be helpful.
http://www.lingoes.net/en/translator/langcode.htm
As you can see Spanish for Mexico uses es-MX.

i have a social network website using buddypress. How well does this plugin translate those features like activity feeds?
Also id rather have wpml check the browsers of users in order to auto translate to their local language.
Hello, BuddyPress Multilingual lets the activity feed page be accessible in other language.
WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically but has an option to check the the user’s language (set in her/his browser) and automatically redirect to the relevant language version.

Hello Kina,
WPML doesn’t translate automatically so doesn’t matter which WPML subscription you use, you need to provide your own translations. WPML works well with Divi.
