    • Hi Eddy,
your previous comment for was waiting for moderation. We don’t work on the weekend, so sorry for the delay. I have just replied.

  2. I only want multi-currency to be enabled in my website. I do not want multi-language. Which will be the best version for me to have. $29 do this or not?

    • Hello Denis,
please note that you can always get started with the Blog version and if it turns out that you need to use some additional WPML plugins, you can upgrade to the CMS version later for the difference in price and you won’t lose you work. I cannot answer if the Blog version will suffice to translate your website, the answer depends on many factors, your theme included, if you use page builders, what specific elements you need to translate etc.

  3. Hi,

I have an old wordpress (3.3.1) that we update to the latest version (4.8), the upgrade worked almost correctly : the old version was equipped with a plugin WPML version 2.4.3. Which does not seem to work correctly. So here are my questions :
    – if I download your last version (and buy it), does the upgrade would work correctly ?
    – will I loose data ?

Thanks a lot for your answers and help.

    Regards,

    Ulysse31

    • Hello Ulysse,
our most recent WPML version is compatible with the most recent WordPress core version but since each case is different and there are so many factors why something doesn’t work as it should I cannot (and no one does) know for sure. When upgrading you won’t loose you data. For we always recommend doing backups.

Our refund policy allows you to test WPML for 30 days. https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/ so please buy WPML and check. During that probation period you can also ask your questions on our support forum.

      • Hi again,

        Thanks for your quick reply,
In that case, I would like to confirm one point : the licence is really unlimited in term of number of website ? because we have a clone for testing updates on it, so, once purchased, I can easily test the plugin on the clone, and, if successful, then re-install and update the plugin on the production site the same way right ?
Just want to be sure before buying ^^’
        Thanks again,

        Best Regards,

        Ulysse31

        • That’s right. You need to buy only one WPML subscription and you can use it for unlimited websites (yours and the ones you build for your customers).

    • Yes, you just pay the difference. You can upgrade from the “Blog” to CMS only when your account/subscription is active.

  4. Hello, I’m thinking of buying the plugin.
I would like to ask some questions. If I buy an intermediate version, do I have to renew it every year?
And for plug-ins. If I buy the main plugin I have the right to all the complementary plugins

    • You have two options:
      1. renew for $39 (when your current subscription is active)
      2. upgrade to Lifetime (for $116)
With the Lifetime subscription you won’t need to pay again and again.
Please note that renewing is optional – to have access to future versions and our support help.

Yes, the CMS (and Lifetime) subscription include all WPML plugins we developed.

  5. I have a English language site. I need to make two new landing pages in Chinese, one Simplified and one Traditional.

Is this the plugin for me? Will this plugin be able to apply Chinese to only these two specific pages?

I will likely have the content already translated into Chinese. How would I get that translation into WordPress so that the characters/font render in Chinese?

    • Hello John,

Yes, using WPML you can set up a website running in two languages in Chinese, one Simplified and one Traditional and create two landing pages. Please note that WPML doesn’t your content translate automatically. If you need the translation to be done for you, you might consider installing the Translation Management plugin (included in the CMS or Lifetime package) which allows you to send your content to professional translation services. You pay extra for the service, usually depending on the number of words they need to translate but the prices are affordable. https://wpml.org/documentation/content-translation/

  6. Of what does the full list of languages consist?
I don’t see a list in your documentation, just a few examples.

    Thanks,
    ~Daniel

  7. Hi there, I’m coordinating with our non profit client to get them a non profit license, but our developer is in a bit of a hurry. Once you get contacted by our non profit client directly, does it take a long time to get approved? Thanks!

    • Hello Maria,
yes, it can take a while, a few days, sometimes a week or two, depending on how long the waiting queue is. Please apply and let me know, so I can contact the person in charge to check your status.

  8. Hi there. My question is that I purchased the wpml cms pack a few years ago (2013 I think!!) and I used it on a site I was creating with wordpress which worked great. I don´t create many sites but I am now creating another where I need to use WPML and the problem is the version I have (which I purchased so that it could be used for an unlimited number of sites) apparently it´s not compatible with the actual wordpress package.
Can you therefore let me know where I can download a new version without passing through the purchase of another package.

    Kind regards.

    Emilio Garcia Paniagua

    • Hello,

to access the most recent version of WPML you’d need to renew your account. For our former customers we have a discount. You can upgrade to the Lifetime package for $116. Please log into your WPML account and you will find that link.

        • No, unfortunately not. You can only use the plugins you installed. If you need access to the most recent versions you need to renew.

  9. I’m a developer and work with several different websites. I’d like to know how WPML updates are distributed if I buy a Multilingual CMS Lifetime licence. I’d like to avoid to have to download a zip file every time there’s an update and upload it manually to each one of the websites I manage. An optimal scenario would be to add domains to my WPLML account and generate licence keys, so that the plugin can benefit from auto updates on WP’s dashboard once the site has validated the keys with WPML servers. I’m thinking about something like the way themes from Envato’s Theme Forest are updated. Could you briefly describe how WPML updates are handled? Thanks!

  10. Hi,

What I’m tryig to achieve is having a wordpress instalation using a real estate template with housing listing and database (this part I have), this would be in both languages, so the the seach and listings would be in both languages. However, for the english side which would be the second language i would like to have its own article content, not translations from Spanish article content, it would be completely different.

    • Hello Diane,
Thank you for your interest in WPML. I’m not sure if I follow. What do you mean by “The application will not accept our valid website address”? Are you getting errors when putting the http://www.womanadvance.com in the Website field? If so, what does it say?

Which browser do you use? If there is no way to apply I will ask the person in charge to get in touch with you directly.

    • Thank you, Agnes, for your message. I just completed the application again, this time adding the “http://” to our website. The application did not bounce back this time so it may sent. Did you receive an application from Adelante Mujer, Inc?
      Diane

  11. Hi!

Can i arrange the goods’ prices manually? I do not want to sell the same value for all over the world.
    For example;
    100 usd = 86 euro
But can we sell same product to 100 USD in USA at the same time 100 EURO for Europe?

    Thank you!

  12. Hi,

I have a client that has two websites….can they use one account? Or would they need to buy two. (They are a not for profit.)

    Thanks,
    Ilana

    • Hi, they (or you) need to buy only one WPML subscription. Please note that you, as the web developer, can also buy WPML (just one subscription) and use it for all your customers’ sites.

  13. Hello. I work for Hepatitis NSW, an Australian health charity. I am trying to track down a purchase that appears on our Credit Card statement. It reads:
    [sensitive data – edited]

    Does this purchase sound familiar?
If so, I’d like some detail for our financial control forms (what was the product?)

    Regards
    Paul Harvey
    Information & Communications Manager
    Hepatitis NSW

    • Hello Paul,

I don’t think so. Three reasons:
      1. the order number is too long
      2. the total price for WPML would be $195.00 + $44.85 (VAT) = $239.85
      3. For non-profits we offer WPML for free.

But I sent your question to the person in charge of WPML orders to double check.

  14. Hello, I made a purchase a while back with an email and for a website that are both now closed. I want to download my old purchased plugin to use for a new project, but I cannot seem to log in. I cannot reset the password because I cannot access that old email address. I have the receipt from my old purchase that includes all the information you may need to reference.

    Please email me. Thank you!

    Hanel

    • Hello Hanel,

You need to have an active WPML subscription to access the Downloads section on your WPML account. If you have the old plugins somewhere on your hard drive or installed in a site, you can still use those but an active subscription is required to access the WPML plugins.

We don’t recommend using old plugins for safety reasons. If you would like to access WPML plugins, you would need to purchase again. If you would like us to update the email for your old account, please send us your order number and we will change the email.

      Please use this form:
      https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/

since we cannot exchange sensitive data via comments.

For former customers we have a discount – you can upgrade to the Lifetime for $119 (instead of buy it for $195.00). If you are interested of course.

  15. Good day,
Regarding Woocommerce and WPML Multi Currency, the following:

    1) We are using South African currency (ZAR) with South African Payment Gateway Payfast. So all good. Works perfect. IMPORTANT: ZAR is Woocommerce base currency.

    2) We want to sell internationally, for instance in USD. Paypal does not support South African Rands. Would WPML Currency Switcher be able to assist with this, i.e: changing currency before it is sent to Paypal? For instance, only displaying the Paypal gateway due to foreign country would automatically switch store prices to USD (from ZAR) – Thus, passing USD to Paypal for processing…

    3) If no2 above is possible:
    a) Do WC email confirmations get translated?
    b) Are my-account/orders (the users orders) viewed at the exact exchange rate the time payment was made
    c) When refunds are made, will it be done according to payment gateway that was used in the correct currency at the correct original price?

    Your assistance is appreciate!
    Thank you,
    Wzz

    • Good day,

There are two ways to approach your request:
      – you can enable only the USD currency for your second language, so “international” users who will use visit the site in English will buy in USD only
      – let Paypal handle it so it will automatically convert the price by its own currency rate

      To answer the other questions:
      a) yes, you can translate Email confirmation in WPML String Translation panel (the strings from WooCommerce will appear there)
      b) yes, the account page will display prices in the currency the payment was made
      c) the refunds will be handled in same currency that was used when purchasing your product

      • Hi Agnes,
Thanks for that. I sounds promising so far, although:
Having my WC shop’s base currency set to ZAR won’t allow me to configure Paypal as Paypal does not support ZAR. Does WPML hurdle this for me?
        Rgds
        Wzz

        • Looks like… this seems something what has changed in WC and the only way to configure Paypal in WC without any tricks is to set ZAR as the second currency. Let me check with our devs if there is anything we can do about it…

  16. Hi, I say that I have no experience in the wordpress world and there are still some operating logic that I’m not clear .. I’m doing an e-commerce that I should make multi language, and for this reason I should buy WPML. Currently my site is hosted by a free hosting (x10host.com) and once it’s finished, I should migrate to the actual domain where there is now another site (no wordpress). My question is: by purchasing the WPML license, then migrating to another domain, would I run into licensing issues? Or is your use license not linked to the domain?
    Thank you

    • Hello Pietro,
no, you won’t run into any licensing issues since our licensing “system” allows you to use one WPML subscription for unlimited sites. Both your sites and the sites you build for your customers.

  17. Hello,

I am interested in the following product:

    WordPress Multilingual Media Add-On
WordPress Multilingual WooCommerce Gateways Country Limiter Add-On
WordPress Multilingual Gravity Forms Multilingual Add-On

But I need to know what license you have, is it GPL / GNU?

    Thank you!

    Best regards.

  18. Hi,
we interested to buy WPML, our website also will be WooCommerce, so then we need Multilingual CMS subscriptions for $79
    and our questions is:
why need renew account? and what happen if after one year we dont renew account? then our translations stop working?

    Thanks.

    • Hi,
both your translations and WPML plugins will continue working even if you don’t renew. You need to renew to get access to future versions and our support help. Please note that you can upgrade to the Lifetime version for the diffrent in purchase price. You will see this option in your WPML account.
