  1. Hi,

We need to develop a website structure where we will have multiple countries. Each country will then have multiple languages, e.g., Mexico Website (with Spanish, Portuguese & English languages), Brazil Website (Portuguese, Spanish & English languages), Colombia Website (with Spanish, Portuguese & English languages), etc.

    Can your plugin help us?

    Best,

    Jorge

    • Hello,

in WPML you can add diffrent languages, also the so called language variations, region dependant. So for example if you have different Spanish versions, you need to add these languages to WPML by using different codes, for example es-mx Spanish (Mexico) – we have tutorials showing how to configure it.
But in this case the structure of your languages will be “flat” while what you are describing looks like a hierarchical model:

      Mexico Website
      -Spanish,
      -Portuguese
      -English

      Brazil Website
      – Portuguese
      – Spanish
      – English

      Colombia Website
      – Spanish
      – Portuguese
      – English

If you are going to have different content for these three counties (Mexico Website, Brazil Website, Colombia Website) then please consider installing separate WP sites and then for each use WPML for the languages that you put in brackets. Instead of three separate WP installs you can also consider installing one WP in the multisite mode and then use WPML for each subsite.

  2. Hi there!
I want to buy your plugin but I want an invoice for this product. I see that you have the login icon but If one user doesn’t be already your client where he can find the log on?

    • You need to go to the checkout (meaning buy WPML) and then once your payment is completed, an account will be created for you and you will receive your user and password.

  3. Hello

I wanted to buy the $29 option for my online store, and just wanted to ask whether it supports multi-currency? And in general how does it work? Do I put in product info once in English and it will then automatically translate them into those languages that I need? How do I pick the correct currency settings?

    Thanks
    M

  4. Hello, I understand that there are some languages that are not pre-configured. If my company bought this plugin we would also need Haitian Creole and Cape Verdean Creole. There are articles about how to install the language, but I don’t have the language to install myself.

Where could I purchase/get the languages I need in order to add them to the plugin? Is this a service that is offered?

  5. Hi,

We are interested in translating our site. We make frequent updates to the English version – for example updating content, changing an image, etc. If we are using the wpml plug-in, would we need to update these items on every single version of the site? I.e. would there be one English site and one Spanish site to maintain? If we changed an image on the English version, would that automatically update on the translated versions?

    Thank you for your help.

  6. Good afternoon,
We are the Rio de Janeiro International Airport and we are interested in the Multilingual Blog plug in.
is it possible to pay an order by wire transfer?
We would like to place an order, receive a Proforma and pre pay by transfer.
    Thank you very much.
    Best regards,
    Gabriela

    • Hello Gabriela,
I am afraid we do not offer direct wire transfers. You are welcome to buy through PayPal from your bank account. Please let me know if this would work for you. I can prepare the proforma invoice.

      Waiting for your confirmation.

  7. Hi there,

I want to make our page multilaigual. I use WordPress and theme NUR from Brotherstheme.

I’m going to buy WPML, but before can you explain me which version is best suitable for me.
Do I need to buy CMS version, or is the Blog good enugh.
I didn’t find, what are custom fields, widgets, sticky links…
Are they vital or already on my page? Or is it better to buy the more expensive one in case I use something in the future.

    With regards,

    Matevž

    • The Blog version will suffice if you need to translate only pages, posts, menu, categories, tags. But if your theme includes some special options or generates some special section inside your pages that needs to be translated then you might need other plugins which are available only in the CMS version. You can start with the Blog version and if it turns out that you need additional WPML plugins you can upgrade later for the difference in price.

  8. Hi,

I want to add auto redirection on my multilaigual site. so that if site opens in australia then site will be redirect to site_url/au . I am using wpml plugin also using browser redirect functionality but it is not working for me.

If I buy WPML Redirect Based on IP Country plugin. Will it work without notification?

I mean site url will redirect to language preference according to ip of country ?

    With regards,

    • WPML only has browser redirect functionality based on the language of the browser, so this wont work for you.
We haven’t tried the “WPML Redirect Based on IP Country plugin” but its built specifically for WPML and it should work.
You might want to ask the author of that plugin.

  9. If I purchase the “Multilingual CMS for life upgrade from CMS”, is this for an unlimited number of WP sites ?

    • Hello Jean-Luc,
Yes this will be for unlimited sites. We are removing the offer for lifetime subscriptions in a few days. I suggest you buy it at your earliest convenience.

      Kind regards,

  10. Hello, I am working on wordpress Dokan multi vendors site. I want to add multi language features for my website and I wanna buy that plugin. Please let me Is this plugin is compatible with dokan. Is this plugin is giving an option to add different languages in dokan vendors dashboard? Thanks

  11. Dear Sir/Madam,
im interested for life time package,
but i wonder if the license will be just for single website? or if i have multiple website under one hosting plan, it can be applied?

    REGARDS,

  12. Hello,
French was my launch language, but I’d like to launch the English version to target new markets. I translated my theme in French using Loco translate. What should I do now ? Is WPML the right plugin for me for the English version ? Would I need to retranslate to English the theme ? Should I get WPM and get rid of Loco translate.
As you see I have a lot of questions and I need advices 😛
    Thank you,
    Lydie

    • Hello Lyndie,

you can use WPML to run your site in two languages. The fact that you translated your theme already using Loco translate doesn’t affect anything. When you add English to your site (using WPML) you should see the strings that you already translated in English in English part of your site, and French string in French version. WPML will help you create pages, posts and other elements of your site in other languages. Translating strings coming from your theme is only a part of this process and can be done both in WPML and the Loco translate plugin.

  13. Highly interested in your plugin but I am not sure yet to buy lifetime licence.
If I purchase the yearly licence at first, will you discount its price for a switch to a lifetime licence afterwards ? If yes, how much time would you let me for trial ?

    thanks

  14. Hi, I have a page with a Phone Directory:
    http://olon.ec/olon/olon-businesses-phone-list/

But when I click a record, it sends me to:
    http://olon.ec/olon/olon-businesses-phone-list/?lang=en/Olon_Phone_List_category/olon-chiropractors/

    Which obviously doesn’t resolve…

Is this something that would be fixed by the “String” addon?
Can I somehow disable WPML on this single page?

Thanks for letting me know, so I know if I need to buy the addons… Thanks!

    • Hello,
it depends on how your directory entries are implemented. If custom post types have been used, then you should be able to translate them with WPML. Please also let me know if the directory was added by your theme or by a plugin and what the name of both.

      • It’s Business Directory Plugin
        I don’t even need to translate it…

I just need to make sure the ?lang=en/ disappears from the middle on the string:

        ?lang=en/Olon_Phone_List_category/olon-chiropractors/

  15. Hello!
I have a nonprofit organisation in Croatia named “AM CENTER for audiovisual culture and multimedia”. We just started creating our website and we wold like to have multilingual WPML translations.
Is the plugin free for nonprofit organisation and how does the procedure goes? What documentation do we have to provide and who do we contact in WPML?

    Thank you,
    Iva

  16. helo! when i translate website from one language to another using WPML plugin then can i modify some content, text after translation??

    • Yes, you can and actually you need to provide you content since WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically.

      • ok thanks..so let me know that is Multilingual Blog ($29) can full fill my requirements if i want to translate my wordpress site in multiple languages and translate text and widgets etc???
        thanks

        • Using the Multilingual Blog version you will translate posts, pages, categories, tags but when it comes to translating widgets it depends on the widget. More about it here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/translate-widgets/
Bottom line is that in some cases you might need the WPML String Translation add-on which is available in the Multilingual CMS version.

        • You can start with the Blog version and upgrade to the CMS version later for the difference in purchase price.

  17. helo! when i translate website from one language to another using WPML plugin then can i modify some content, text after translation?? reply fast plz,i am interesting to buy this plugin
    thanks

  18. Hello, will i translate website from one language to another using WPML Plugins then came i modified any text or content after translation. If its not correct

    • Bonjour David!

  19. I am updating dual language Welsh/English a site that is using WPML v2.3.4

q1. Where can I see the changelog from version 2.3 through to the current (3.7?) – there is a link in the support forum but it seems I have to already be a customer in order to see the changelog.

q2. the list of compatible themes doesn’t seem to list any of the WordPress team themes (eg Twenty fifteen, tewenty sixteen etc) – id this because they don’t work with WPML?

q3 Does WPML work with php v7.1 The current site doesn’t, but that is probably because of other extensions and the old theme being incompatible with php7. I’m not seeing obvious errors or warnings from WPML when I switch it to php7.

q4 Is there an upgrade price available from 2.3.4 to the current version. I have no idea what kind of account was originally paid for for this site – the person whose name it is in is still involved (it was registered in his name by a developer now long gone) but can’t remember any details. No updates to wpml (or any other plugins!) have been done for several years.

    Many thanks
    RogerCreagh

    • Hello Roger,
q1. Yes, you need to be log into your WPML account to see the changes logs.
q2. These themes even if not listed in our compatibility table should work with WPML since they are very simple themes but I will double check with our Compatibility Team and will let you know.
      q3. Here are the requirements:
      https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/
q4. If in your WordPress you can see more than one WPML plugin, it means that your site uses the CMS plan. If you can see only one WPML plugin, it probably uses the Blog subriptions. If you consider buying WPML, please note that we are going to change our subsription model soon. More about these plans here: https://wpml.org/2018/04/lifetime-plan-going-away-favor-annual-renewals/

    • My colleagues fom the Compatibility Team confirm that we are compatible with WordPress default themes.

  20. Hi, we are looking to move a site from Shopify over to WooCommerce because Shopify only has one currency at checkout and switches to that currency for the checkout process. With WPML multi currency does the user see their own currency through the entire checkout process or does it visibly switch to the store’s default currency during the checkout process? Also in their order confirmation would it be the currency the user picked or would it default back to the store’s default currency? Thanks, Michael.

  21. Am I limited in where I can place the drop down language switcher. Does it have to be on the sidebar or at content bottom 1 or content bottom 2?

The client will provide me the text for the translations. Can I then insert them into the pages?

  22. I am interested in your lifetime option but have some questions:

    1. Can the language switcher be placed anywhere other than the sidebar, or content bottom 1 or content bottom2?

    2. Most importantly, what about the text in the header (navigation links, etc) and the text within the footer. How is that that translated. The video demonstrates how to translate pages, but what about the common areas like footers and headers?

  23. Hello,
I have a WPML license for a website, but I’m working on another site for a client that needs WPML, do I need a license for each website or is there an agency offer?
    Is WPMK DSGVO approached?
    Thank you
    Michaela

    • Hello Michaela,
You are welcome to register the new url in your existing account, there is no need to buy a new subscription.
Can you let me know what you mean with WPMK DSGVO? I did a quick search but did not find anything useful.

      Thanks,
