even if you use the WooCommerce Multilingual plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-multilingual/), you need the main WPML plugin as well (without the main WPML plugin the WooCommerce Multilingual plugin won’t work). And this way you will be able to make your entire website multilingual but please note that translations won’t be handled automatically.

You need to activate WPML on the 2 sites, as WPML handles them separately, as long as they have different urls. You can register it on the production site and when the live site is ready, remove it and register the new url.

The thing is that on that article they explain how to put the blog either in a subdomain or in a separate domain. My case is that I want to have the same blog in different domains but also in subfolders so my domains will still have the ecommerce but inside each of them I will have an additional blog (all of the will point to the same blog).

Think about WPML this way: imagine you are installing it on one domain and let’s say you use languages as subfolders. Then, each version of your site has the blog page (see this wpml.org site as the example). This will work with WPML by default. And now think about changing the URL to a separate domain (so for example instead of mysite.com/es/blog you use mysite.es). In order to make this happen, you need to do the setup that is covered here: https://wpml.org/2016/04/use-wpml-different-domains-per-language/

This is how you create a blog page in WordPress:
1. Greate a regular page (e.g. news or blog). You don’t put anything inside it.
2. Go to WordPress settings -> Your homepage displays -> Posts page and choose the page.
WPML allows you to create a given page in many languages. So for each of your languages, you repeat only step #1. You can even use the same slug for other languages (blog).
What I’m saying you don’t create the subfolder for your blog, WordPress does it for you if you follow the steps above. Then, in WordPress settings -> Permalinks you choose the way your single post will be displayed. As you can see there is no blog/year/month format, just year/month (Month and name).
WPML replies on these settings. If you need a custom structure that goes beyond what WordPress offers, you would need to look for external solutions but then I cannot assure you that the solution will be compatible with WPML. Better to stick to WordPress standards.
Sorry for the confusion, I have checked my credit card and it wasn’t debited for the payment, so I paid the subscription again and then I could download the plugins.
Another confusion: the plugin for the blog uses the same name as that for the full cms. I discoverd too late that string and mangement wouldn’t be there.

If you use only one WordPress installation for all these domains, the CMS package will suffice. You can also upgrade to the Agency package later, if needed, for the difference in purchase price.

WPML doesn’t translate your posts automatically unless you use our ATE editor and its machine translations. https://wpml.org/2018/06/machine-translation-available-in-wpmls-advanced-translation-editor/ If you are not completely satisfied with the translations, you can always alter them manually.

Hello, WPML itself doesn’t offer this functionality and you could to use the Toolset Access plugin (coming from the same company) to restrict access to translation based on the user’s language. Please read these two articles:

Hi, both options are possible to configure: either subdirectories or subdomains. It’s easy and part of the WPML initial setup.
