  1. I use WP future posts as “future events”.
I manually list those posts in my custom WP theme, and it is possible to view a detail of a future post.
I am considering moving onto WPML plugin but I have seen some complaints about this not working with WPML – when a future post has translations in several languages and its single page is shown, the WPML language switcher does not offer a change of language for this (as it normally does with normal posts).

Or has this “feature” been implemented?
    Best regards

    • We don’t have Builder and haven’t gotten anything from iThemes. Want to ask them and see if they’re interested in working on this with us? First, they should have all texts wrapped in GetText calls (they would know what it means). This is the first step for sites in languages other than English. Then, we’ll be very happy to work with them on support for multilingual sites.

  2. Hi,

    I have a couple of pre-sale questions.

The first thing I want to achieve is to have the theme translated in French with WPML. Unfortunately there is no way to be sure it will work until I buy the product…

The theme that I use is Glide from Themeforrest.

Then I would start translating my posts, I have a lot of them. Since my posts are all in french, do I need in someways to “flagged” them as french? In batch?

    Thanks in advance,

    François

    • Most themes work fine with WPML. To be on the safe side, I suggest that you refer the theme author here:
      http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/

We will work with the theme author and see that everything runs together smoothly.

When you install WPML, it will ask you for the language of existing content. Then, you can add translation to other languages. You can also use WPML’s GUI at any time to change the language of existing content.

  3. Hello,

I’m willing to buy the plugin, could You please answer some of my questions:
I’m willing to use it with ElegantThemes themes (TheProfessional or Chamilion theme), maybe You no if it will work ok, or some issues have been already found/resolved?

When using a WPML plugin, would I need to create the *.mo or *.po files on my own or there will be a simpler way inside a plugin to translate the buttons and other names in my theme?

I would like to use some Category, Post and Taxonomy Terms Order plugin to move the post position in a drag and drop mode so would it work with WPML? or should I be aware of some things? or maybe You know some exact plugins which will definitely work?

Thank You in advance! Hope to hear from You as soon as possible!

    • You can use the .mo files that come with the theme, or edit theme translations directly in WPML’s String Translation module.

We’re using a plugin called CMS Page Tree to order pages and custom post types. It works fine with WPML. I’m not sure about other plugins, but if they use the WordPress API, it should work fine together.

      • Thank You for the reply Amir.

Any thought about using with ElegantThemes?

I’ve read the is a beta of CMS Tree Page View not only for pages but for post also… But I can not find a link to install one… Maybe You can help with this one?

    • You can apply and Eyal will review it. WPML’s cost includes one year of upgrades and support. To keep getting support and upgrades, we ask for 50% of the original cost in subsequent years.

  4. Hello, do you know which premium hotel templates works with your plugin? From reliable sources like Themeforest etc.

    • I’m not 100% sure. We work with theme authors, but I don’t remember any theme that’s specific for hotels. If you run into a theme that you like, you can refer the theme author to us and we’ll be happy to review it together.

  5. Hello,

I’m interested in your product, and I’m using Moviepress from premiumpress.com. Can WPML and Moviepress work together well?

    Cheers
    Ron

  6. Google’s own site says for each post to use hreflang codes in the header to tell it where the equivalent post is in an alternate language. Does your plugin automate this and automatically add the correct url to the translated versions of each post along with the proper hreflang designation?

    • Right. We’re using hreflang in WPML’s language switcher right now. We’re also adding it to the header in the upcoming release.

  7. Hello,
Is there anyway to gauge how long it will take to hear back about a non-profit request?
    תודה רבה
    Guy

    • We’re going through them as fast as we possibly get. The queue is not very long, but we have limited time every day to go through these requests and sort them. Quite a few are just spammy requests, taking up review time.

  8. I just bought WPML 79$ version and did not receive an email with my login. Please could you email me it so that i can download the plug in.

  9. Hi,

i’m willing to bij the WPML package but the purchage page doesn’t react well.
When complete the form and push the button the the form refreshes and de tha data is gone. Can you help me out?

    Kind regards,
    Sander Cornelissen

    • We’ve made some Javascript changes which might be related to this. If you visited our site before, you might have older JS cached. Can you do a full refresh (CTRL-F5) and try again? Also, if this doesn’t work, please use a different browser.

JS cache usually refreshes automatically, but sometimes browsers don’t immediately download the newer versions. Let me know if problems continue. On our side, things appear normal and purchases are coming in as usual.

  10. Hi there – we are considering your plugin as a multilingual solution. Some of our sites (like the US and Danish sites) might want their own unique content (pages) and menu (to navigate to those pages) and so on.

Can you do this sort of thing with this plugin?

    regards

    Dean

    • WPML lets you translate every piece of your site. You can have ‘translated’ content, or completely different content in different languages. ‘Translated’ means that some page is considered translation of another. Independent means that you just create different content per language.

  11. I am a WordPress theme developer, developing custom themes for my clients. My question is, do I need to purchase WPML for every site I built or I can use Multilingual CMS, once I purchased this?

    Thanks.
    Asif

  12. I am making a blog network and would like it to be available to anyone who wants in any language. I also want to make a recipe book that allows translations of recipes to multiple languages. Will be using BuddyPress or Symposium.

Should I be getting the CMS or multilingual blog version?

    • You should get the CMS version, so that you can translate all the site’s elements. We have a glue plugin that enables multilingual BuddyPress sites. It requires update to the recent version of BuddyPress. We’ll have that update in about three weeks from now.

  13. Hi!

A short question before hitting the “buy” button.

We have a launch plan for our webshop where it will first be launched in Lithuania, then a few months later in Latvia/Estonia, and in Russia around new years.

I haven’t been able to figure out from the documentation if it is possible to translate the shop into Lithuanian to begin with, and then ONLY display it in Lithuanian (without any option for the customer to choose another language). And then, when we open up for business in other countries to add the choice of switching language to Estonian and Latvian, and finally Russian.

It would seem like a very comfortable way of not having to first use other translation plugins (or attack the .po and .mo files directly).

    • You should be able to do that just fine. Go to WPML->Languages and look for the language switcher options. Choose to show only languages that have translation. Then, since you don’t yet translate the shop pages to other languages, visitors will not have the option for switching languages. Is this what you intend?

      • Yes, as long as English doesn’t show up as an option (would like it to behave like you have found any other Lithuanian page, where there are no language choices what so ever).

        • It shouldn’t. WPML’s language switcher behaves as you tell it to. If you don’t translate that page and tell WPML to show only translated pages, it will not show up.

See an example on our site:
          * Fully translated page – http://wpml.org
          * Page that appears only in English – http://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/

You can see that the language switcher (in our site, on the footer), includes only translated languages. That’s how we configured it for wpml.org.

  14. Hi, I’m trying to build a bilingual website in Arabic and English, which basically means I need to flip the whole CSS everytime a user switches from English to Arabic and vice versa (English script is left to right whereas Arabic is right to left). Does WPML come with support for this? Is it easy to flip pages around or do I have to hardcode that kind of stuff?

    Thanks

  15. Hi,

I’m ready to push the Buy button today, but I’d like to confirm that WPML is compatible with the Thesis theme (version 1.85). Although there are a couple of posts on your site about successfully using Thesis with WPML, it’s not listed on your compatible themes page.

    Thanks,

    Andrea

    • I know several web developers who regularly build sites with Thesis and WPML. All seems to be running fine and we’re not getting any support requests that are related with Thesis. If you need any help, our support people will be glad to assist. We haven’t listed Thesis because Chris (Thesis author) is not actively working with us to ensure compatibility. It’s working, but since we don’t have any formal contact with Thesis authors, we didn’t list it there.

  16. I try to purchase, but i was forwarded to a page that says:
“You cannot purchase this product. choose the right product”.

I am not sure what has gone wrong, my username is VincentL

    • Looks like you already have a valid purchase from February this year. You don’t need to pay for WPML account, so our system is not letting you. If you need help logging in, you can reset your password in the ACCOUNT login page.
