we have got and registered some of your WP plugins, translated mysite.lv
Then we cloned to mysite.by and mysite.ru
We are not using it for any kind of online translation – just been used for cloning.
and now we have a problem with updates of
WPML String Translation, WPML Media, WPML Multilingual CMS, WPML Translation Management plugins.
” cannot update because your site’s registration is not valid. Please register WPML again for this site first.”
what should we purchase to enable updates WPML String Translation, WPML Multilingual CMS for these RU and BY sites
1. I plan sell differents product abroad, but not every product is legal in every country. So if in country C, product C is not legal, i dont want to show it.
Do there is any option to select?
by exemple Country A: Product A, B, C ; Country B: Product A,C; Country C, product A,B?
2 . One of my version will be china mainland, can I have Facebook widget on my other version, and do not have on my chinese version, but wechat and the chinese payment gateway alipay and wepay?
Hello,
1. Yes, you can select which products can be available in which lanaguges.
2. This is a list of plugins compatible with WPML related to using WooCommerce and gateways.
We will be running different project websites (more then 3) under same domain (dps.aw). Do I need to purchase the Agency option even if it’s the same domain name?
Trying to understand when the plugin is used to create sub directories for pages and posts if this is creating multiple pages and posts in the back end? Also do you offer a free trial of your plugin? Thank you
Hello Hana,
the directories WPML creates are “virtual” (not physical) subdirectories so you won’t see them in your file systems. We don’t offer a free trial but our refund policy allows you to test WPML for 30 days without any risk.
Ques1: WPML has provision to Hindi language translation?
Ques2: After 1 year complete and I’ll not going to renew it then can plugin will in working stat in site?
Hello,
Q1. Please note that WPML doesn’t translate your content automatically by default. We provide machine translations as well but to use them, you need to enable the ATE editor and then select pages (or other content) for which you want to apply the machine translations. Please read more about ATE here. ATE uses Azure’s MT engine and yes, Hindi is supported.
Q2. Yes, you will keep your translations and your WPML plugins will continue working even if you don’t renew. Renewals are for updates and our support assistance.
Hi! I am considering building a multilingual site (using EXTRA theme by elegantthemes). I was hoping that you could be able to give me some details about your product, WPML that is. Does WPML plugin give control over permalinks names? It may be useful for SEO. Does it automatically add hreflang tags? And also, is it possible to use one license for different projects (sites)?
Hello,
1. Yes, we are compatible with the EXTRA theme by elegantthemes.
2. Yes, you could control the permalinks. If you use one of the SEO plugins compatible with WPML (e.g. Yoats), you will have even better control on your post meta. This is what we do on this site (wpml.org).
3. Yes, WPML adds hreflang automatically.
4. Yes, it is but the number of registration keys you can generate depends on the package you buy. The majority of our clients buy the Multilingual CMS package which allows you to register up to 3 sites.
Hello Daniel,
if you install the WooCommerce Multilingual plugin which is available in the Multilingual CMS package ($69), you can use WPML with WooCommerce and you will get the currency switcher.
I’m helping the site owner migrate to a new host and update the site.
They have lost contact with the original developer, and can’t find their WPML license.
The current installed plugin is version 4.2.9 with known vulnerabilities.
I tried to go through the revalidate process from the support pages, but there is no revalidate button on the commercial tab, just a ‘Register WPML’ button.
Do you have records on your side that would allow you to register the site, at least long enough to upgrade to the latest version where the known vulnerabilities are addressed?
Hello Jeff,
from our system point of view, the owner of the WPML subscription/account is the person who purchased WPML plugin with his/her email. We cannot “enable” his/her site for anyone else. What that person can do is to transfer the renewal payments to his/her clients. I’m gonna check with our developers of we provide plugins with known vulnerabilities are addressed but even if we do, still you need to have a WPML account to download the zip.
Hello Jeff,
our developer will send you the files but we need to know what WPML plugins are used on your site. Please provide me the list of the plugin names along with their version numbers. Thank you.
I have a question, it may be silly but it is crucial for me to understand before buying the plugin.
I have a website in English, made with Bakery Page Builder. I’ll have to translate this website for a sister company, in Serbian. However, the Serbian client wants to have the freedom to also change some media content, some pictures, and videos, in order to adapt it to the Serbian market. So my question is, does the plugin actually duplicate the pages and allows for structural and content changes, or only the text content of each page can be changed?
Hello,
this is not a silly question at all and many users asked me similar questions actually. Yes, using WPML you can duplicate your content from original languages and then make edits in your secondary language or you can create a completely new post/page. Both options are possible.
I would be setting up the WPML plugin’s backend features in English and designing the website in English.
Can I set the front end of the website to display to an other-than-English as the default language (visitors can choose English or another language if they to see site in their preferred language)?
Hello,
if you want to make a non-English language your default languages on the front-end, you would need to set is as your primary language on the backend as well and English as one of your secondary languages. Every backend user can choose his admin language independently of the front-end language. I hope it helps.
Hello,
we are an IT business with a few wordpress websites.
Currently we are looking for a solution to move the q translate x plugin to a more premium translation plugin for the CMS of a customer.
We think WPML will do the job but we are not sure yet.
In case we buy the product but the WPML plugin does not excpect our expecations is it easy to refund the money using the 30 day money back?
Did WPML compatible with default WordPress theme twenty seventeen and WP Bakery Page builder? Or it just supports a specific theme and page builder. Much Thanks advance.
Hi!
I am considering buying WPML but need to be sure it does what we need.
Our company has regional partners, and each region needs a version of our main site ( keytolearninginternational.com ) in their language. I was going to set up subdomains for this, for example pl.keytolearninginternational.com for Poland. But then I came across WPML. However, continuing with this example, I would want the Polish language version to open in the new subdomain, as some elements of the site would be different such as the contact details, as queries should go direct to the Polish regional partner. We will also soon have a shop via WooCommerce on the main site, but we would then want the same shop in the Polish language on the Polish subdomain, in order that orders are directed to the Polish partner. i.e. the regional shop wouldn’t just be a translation job but also need to be an independent set up in order for the payments to be directed to a different plan from the shop on our main site. In this case, would WPML work for what we need? Or if not, can you tell me how to combine it with something else to give us a solution for this? Thanks so much!
It makes sense to use WPML for your shop if you want to provide the same shop with the same functionality in other languages. You don’t need to translate each and every product but if you want your shop to behave differently for each language, I’d go with separate instances of the shops rather then translating them.
A tip: so before you decide which solution to choose, please write down (for yourself) all the extensions you might need and check this page to see if those WooCommerce extensions are compatible with WPML.
I am about to buy the economic solution and it is stated that it is used on ONE site only.
I am making a website for a clent who already has their active website on a certain domain, but I have to make a new version of their website on my domain and to transfer ot later to their domain.
So my question is- if I install your plug in on my domain- will I be able to use it normally when I transfer the website to their domain?
I have a website built with elementor and wpbakery and realtyna IDX(organic not iframe). I need to know what version of WPML you recommend me that fit my needs according to the following:
1- I need to have the website with the main url in spanish and the secondary in english and I need an auto translate function.
2-Currently I have my website in english, can I translate to Spanish and after change Spanish to be the main?
Hello,
your question is still awaiting moderation. It requires a WPML expert to reply because it’s a very technical question and beyond the scope of typical pre-sales questions – you ask about realtyna IDX and other advanced stuff – for example, your site is very tricky because you use 2 page builders at the same time. In general, WPML works both with Elementor and WP Bakery but I don’t know what happens when you will try to use both. I’ve asked one of our experienced supporters for help and he will reply to you soon (his queue is loaded with questions, please give us more time to reply).
So for sure, you will need the CMS package and yes, we provide a converter from Polylang.
Hi.
I did get his reply. Thank you. Waiting for the IDX provider (Realtyna) to clarify if/how it works with WPML because they do recommend it as compatible.
Anyways, we are in touch, thank you for following up
We always recommend you to use the latest version of WPML and if you are building your site with Elementor and WPBakery, you will need our Multilingual CMS package.
About changing your default language, even if it is possible with WPML, we don’t recommend you this procedure after you have started your translations as it may leads to loosing par of your content.
If your site has already been built in Spanish, you could install WPML using Spanish as main language and changing immediately as a secondary language before starting to translate your site.
Thank you for your response.
My site is built in English but I want the primary site to be in Spanish, that’s why I asked if I could translate it first and then switch.
Regarding Realtyna IDX plugin and the automatic translations, would WPML translate the data coming from the feed as well? It’ll be new listings everyday coming from the feed.
Your plugin Realtyna IDX plugin is not in our compatibility list, however it doesn’t necessarily imply that it is not compatible, just that our team has not tested yet: https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/
Thus, if the authors has prepared it to be multilingual, WPML should be able to translate any content coming from WordPress. However, any other content coming outside WordPress as the feeds you describe, WPML won’t be able to translate it.
Regarding the WPML, It is the WPL Pro that you’ll be integrating with WPML actually.
Since the WPL Pro is what generates the details page for your listings, then the compatibility between the WPL Pro and WPML will allow you to translate the details pages as well.
Could you please verify this information? I really need to get this done asap. Thanks in advance
Unfortunately we don’t have a WPL Pro version available. However, our Compatibility team was working with the free version and they declare it compatible. According to that, the Pro version should be also compatible in most of its functionalities. https://wpml.org/plugin/wpl/

I currently use Polylang and want to switched to WPML because I thought it’s more robust in nature. I have 2 questions before I make the Purchase.
1. I use woocommerce only for creating my site as an Affiliate Marketing Site; which plan of WPML should I choose so that I can translate entire product information such as category, tags, attributes, custom fields etc…
hi the above is the development page for a website i’m putting together. They are providing resources to people all over the world and need a website that can translate easily. alot of the stuff is free but i’m using woocommerce to set up all the free downloads.
the thing is – with corona our exchange rate has gone crazy so i’m wondering if we can get a special price please?
I’m in South Africa. Please let me know.
Thanks Lindsay
Hi regarding RTL sites, the site i am purchasing indicates that it supports RTL. My question is, does your plugin transform the site into an RTL site. What i mean by that is do i manually have to edit and add the code to make it function? For example English is by default LTR, would i have to manually define that i want the site to become RTL when i change the language to say Hebrew or does wp automatically detect RTL languages such as arabic, hebrew, etc.?
Another question that i would like to ask is, is dokan also translatable using wpml along with woocommerce? For example the Payment options are paypal, bank transfer and Cash on Delivery are those also translatable?
Yes, WPML supports RTL languages but if you don’t want to do any extra coding, please choose a theme that is already RTL ready. Most of the popular themes are. Then in WPML you simply add languages and WPML will know which ones are RTL languages.
WPML works with Woo commerce and we are compatible. But as far as Woo extensions are concerned, you need to check each one individually. This list will help.
Hello, no, you won’t be able to register a new website after your WPML subscription expires, you will be able to use WPML plugins but without registrations, which means no updates and no support help.

Hello Vladislav,
Have you installed WPML on mysite.lv? If so, the other language urls are generated automatically by WPML and you do not need to register WPML on these.
Or have you created separate WordPress instances for the RU and BY sites?
Check this article https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/#language-url-format
Let me know?

the directories WPML creates are “virtual” (not physical) subdirectories so you won’t see them in your file systems. We don’t offer a free trial but our refund policy allows you to test WPML for 30 days without any risk.
Thank you. Can the “virtual” pages still get indexed?
Yes, of course.
Am I able to test the plugin on a local environment before implementing on my production site?
You mean, once you have access to your WPML account? Yes, sure! No problem at all.
Are you able to create HREF Lang tags in the plugin? Or how might this work? Thank you!
And would I be able to structure my subdirectories http://www.website.com/de/en for example?
I’m sorry, you cannot have de/en. You can have /de and /en separately.
They will be added automatically. Please check this site’s HTML source to check it.

Did WPML compatible with default WordPress theme twenty seventeen and WP Bakery Page builder? Or it just supports a specific theme and page builder. Much Thanks advance.
Hello, yes WPML is compatible with the WordPress twenty seventeen theme and it also works with the WP Bakery Page builder.
In this case, would WPML work for what we need? Or if not, can you tell me how to combine it with something else to give us a solution for this? Thanks so much!
Hello Katie,
you can set up WPML to display your languages in subdomains instead of subfolders but some extra work is required to be done on your server, as explained in this page: https://wpml.org/tutorials/2016/04/use-wpml-different-domains-per-language/
Hello there!
Hope that you are doing good these days!
Have a question regarding your WPML plug-in.
Hello Nikola,
You can install WPML on the development site and then remove the url and register the new one, as long as the subscription is active.
Kind regards,
I have a website built with elementor and wpbakery and realtyna IDX(organic not iframe). I need to know what version of WPML you recommend me that fit my needs according to the following:
1- I need to have the website with the main url in spanish and the secondary in english and I need an auto translate function.
2-Currently I have my website in english, can I translate to Spanish and after change Spanish to be the main?
Why am I the only one not getting a response?
Hello,
your question is still awaiting moderation. Didn’t you get the reply from Andrés?
Hi.
I did get his reply. Thank you. Waiting for the IDX provider (Realtyna) to clarify if/how it works with WPML because they do recommend it as compatible.
Anyways, we are in touch, thank you for following up
Hello Yanai
Sorry for the delay getting back to you.
We always recommend you to use the latest version of WPML and if you are building your site with Elementor and WPBakery, you will need our Multilingual CMS package.
For answering your first question, you can automatically translate from any of the languages pairs available in Azure:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cognitive-services/translator/language-support
About changing your default language, even if it is possible with WPML, we don’t recommend you this procedure after you have started your translations as it may leads to loosing par of your content.
If your site has already been built in Spanish, you could install WPML using Spanish as main language and changing immediately as a secondary language before starting to translate your site.

due to that difficult situation we just released 10000 free words per month for machine translations:

But we don’t have plans to change the price of the plugin.
Hello,
I am building a client site with Oxygen Builder with four languages: English, German, Czech and Polish. Is WPML be compatible with these requirements?
Thanks
Darren
Hello,
yes, WPML is compatible with the Oxygen page builder and you can make your site multilingual and add the languages you listed.
We have known issues with the Dokan plugin. Please check here: https://wpml.org/plugin/dokan-2/ – check the bottom of the page.

Hi,
For Multilingual Agency,Can I register new website if I don’t renew my account after the account expired?
Hello, no, you won’t be able to register a new website after your WPML subscription expires, you will be able to use WPML plugins but without registrations, which means no updates and no support help.
