I have been using your DPD UK plugin, the main thing I need is to create label, dispatch email confirmation and tracking features. DPD UK plugin works perfectly.
I manage a website based in USA, and they want to integrate something similar with their courier UPS. Does your UPS work in the same way as your DPD plugin? From my understanding, your UPS plugin is only useful for creating live shipping rates, which I am not really interested in as the website charges a flat fee. What we need is create label, dispatch email confirmation, tracking link in wp-admin backend/customers email confirmation
Hello,
We are the makers of the WPML plugin. You say “Does your UPS work in the same way as your DPD plugin? From my understanding, your UPS plugin is”. I’m lost.
What’s the situation with wpml and Divi 4. I made a divi + woocommerce website but now the website has to be translated. I made product page templates etc. with Divi’s new Theme Builder. Before there were major issues, is that solved? And if not, what’s still the problem? A friend let me play around a bit on his staging website and I couldn’t manage to get the translations, all done with the theme builder caused probs. I’m considering buying a licence for multiple websites, but only if it works.
I’m curious for your reply. Thanks
Hello Jimmy,
Yes, it should work fine. Please note that it happens that some of our customers would mess up their configuration trying to make this work before it was supported, in other words, if you test this on a fresh site it will work without issues, however, if you are trying to make this work on an old site, please contact our support and they will be able to help you.
Okay perfect, do you also have a support document with settings that should be activated/disactivated specifically for Divi. What options could cause probs, …?
Hello,
The CMS version provides the String Translation plugin which allows you to translate extra strings coming from other plugins (SEO plugin included). But you can start with the Blog version and then upgrade to the CMS for the difference in the purchase price.
Does this plugin work with custom post type api endpoints? Meaning can I call a custom endpoint and have different translations come because per a specified language?
This is not a default WPML functionality however it should be achievable using some custom code. In our forum we have reports from previous users who have successfully developed environments like that.
So with your plugin, could I just translate a post in a custom post type, and only use it in the API JSON, but not translate the rest of the site? Meaning that the translations are hidden/not displayed for a user using the website, but available on the REST API.
When you go to WPML > Languages, there is a setting that allows you to hide any language. This is something that you could try out but I’m not sure how it will behave with custom end-points and your REST API.
Yes Ian. You can use our plugins and access to our support within the 30 days of your purchase. If it is not what your project need, you’ll be able to ask for a refund directly from your WPML account.

Dear WPML,
I want to ask you if my website currently using qTranslate-X plugin and I want to change to use WPML, how can it export all content with two languages and import into WPML without missing or losing text?
I have many Posts and Pages I can not rewrite it again.
Oh, one more thing, I also use ACF pro with Advanced Custom Fields: qTranslate
It is possible to do that? and how to do that?
“Advanced Custom Fields: qTranslate” – is this a plugin name? Please WPML works with ACF and ACF Pro but we don’t support any extra qTranslate-related plugins.
Yes Advanced Custom Fields: qTranslate is the plugin name came with ACF Pro and I want to have a trial version to test if it is possible to import all content.
Thanks in advance.
Hello, so in this case, please buy WPML with our refund policy in mind: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/ It allows you to test WPML without any risk for 30 days and you can use our support forum during that “trail”.
I’m building new website using a subdomain in our website and want to make a full new one before I clone it to the main root domain, because we are using 4 languages and I want to have them all before we upgrade to our new site, my question here is if we buy a business solution acc and install it on the test subdomain do we loose the website register count in the it afterwards? because I don’t know if WPML makes subdomains for translated sites or no..
I will be glad if you help me in this matter before our purchase
Hello, no, you won’t lose your register count because we allow you to delete and generate new keys as many times as you want. Of course, the total number of generated keys will be limited by your subscription, so for example when you buy the CMS plan, you will be able to register up to 3 domains, but what I’m saying is you can delete your existing pair (domain-key) and register a new one in its place.
Both the Multilingual Blog and the Multilingual CMS packages include the same main WPML plugin, which allows you to translate posts, pages, categories, tags, menus. But in a WordPress site, there might be more content to translate. Those are strings/texts coming from 3rd party plugins and your theme. To translate those strings you will need the Multilingual CMS package and its WPML Translation Management and/or WPML String Translations plugins. YOu can start with the Blog package first and upgrade to the CMS version later for the difference in the purchase price.
We are considering going ahead with the WPML plugin, and have the following questions for our website…
1: How much is achieved through automatic (machine) translation? As an eCommerce site, there are small and large descriptions, titles, buttons and pages
2: Are media descriptions and titles also translated?
3: What about SEO and Google? Many of our incoming visitors come from image links, but would Google spiders “see” the translated content?
4: Do you have an auto IP detector included, and would the currency switch from GBP to Euro for example?
1. You can translate your WooCommerce products as well using machine translations. But first, you need to pick which products will be translated this way. We also provide the bulk option.
2. Yes, if you decide to do so.
3. Yes, because in WPML you create separate physical posts/pages/products. The translations won’t happen on the fly. They are saved in the database.
4. We have an option only to switch the site’s language according to what the user has set in her browser (I mean in terms of the languages).
Regarding your answer to #3 – can you clarify that answer?
We currently have around 200 products – are you saying that if we had 5 languages total, we would end up with around 1000 products that we would need to maintain?
That would be lots of prices and variations to maintain.
Hi! I am looking at the possibility to transfer an account renewal to a costumer. But… they use WPML on three websites with the same domain name with /2020, /2018 and /2016. If I transfer the account renewal, will they be able to use it on the 3 web sites?
Hope to hear soon, I still have a week left before renewal…
Thank you!
I already have a CMS subscription, 2 actually… It’s quite confusing. I will send an e-mail using the contact form, to find out what’s going on. Thanks for your help so far!
Eva
Hello,
yes, feel free to contact us via the form if needed but what I meant was that it would make better sense if **your customer** buys the CMS subscription if he/she needs to use WPML for 3 domains (rather then you transferring it to them). Sorry for confusing you.
Hi, I just tried to purchase your plugin but at the time of purchase I got a message saying my email address was already registered for an account with your site. I don’t recall doing this so have no idea what the password is. I sent a password reset but when I clicked on the password reset link the page I got sent to had a 403 forbidden error code on it. Now no matter what page I try to access I receive the same code. It seems like my IP has been blocked by your site or something?
I’m a photographer and I’m going to create a woocommerce website to sell my own stock photos as digital downloads.
I’m creating it in English but I’d like to automatically have other three languages clones under for example www. … .com/es for spanish, www. … .com/fr for French, www. … .com/de for German.
In particular every photo page will have title, description, keywords and tags to translate and I’d need search for every page. Store Search must be available in all 4 languages (I search apple, I got photos in pages with apple in keywords, title or description. But If I search Spanish word “manzana” , I got the same photos but in pages with “manzana” in keywords, title or description)
Is it possible to reach this using your tool in woocommerce?
Hello,
I thinking to purchase WPML for my consumer web site i will design; i viewed the pricing of WPML;; and i have a question: will i pay every year i will use WPML! or just pay on time!!
Thank you
Hello Hussein,
You need to pay for the renewal fee to keep updates and support. If you don’t renew you can keep using the files as they are installed on your site.
Hello,
I’m configuring a WooCommerce Site for my daughter that will have some languages and currencies, for test I’m using a local Bitnami install with url 127.0.0.1/wordpress/ and for live https://realshop.com. Then I’ve some questions:
1. I need to use CMS version in order to get the full multi-language support
2. I will have to register both sites in order to test and live shop translations
3. Can I use WMPL on the local test Bitnami install
4. I will need some additional plugins or extensions to have multicurrency
Hello Robert,
Thanks for your interest. If your site will use multicurreny I guess this is a commerce site and in this case you will need our WooCommerce multilingual plugin. You will need the CMS subscription.
More info here https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/
You can use WPML on the local test site and then delete it and register the live site. You can do this as many times as you want as long as the subscription is active.
I am busy setting up a multi vendor ecommerce marketplace site in wordpress and woocommerce. I need to have different subdirectories (one for each region). The subdirectories all need to be the same style, just different pics/items. It was suggested that I use WPML. Please advise which plan would work for my needs.
Hi
I would like to restrict vendors to particular pages ie. 1 vendor only goes onto the france page and the other vendor only goes onto the english page. Is it possible?
Our WooCommerce Multilingual handles only one shop structure per design. However, one thing that you could try is to give editing rights to your vendors only in your desire language. In that way, they will be able to create products only in that language.
Hello!
Can I use same page for two or more different languages?
For example to use same front page, not to create a new one for every language.
This is a corner stone for my need. If it so I might purchase a licence.
Hello Georgi,
you can use the same page for two (or more) languages only if you decide to provide exactly the same content for both, meaning show the original (and not translated) content. Otherwise, WPML creates a new page.
I am webmaster of the website of a music club from Stuttgart (Germany). We are a nonprofit organization. I read that your plugin for nonprofits provides a free license. where can i rate our club for it?
Hello,
thank you for your interest in WPML. Unfortunately, we don’t have any free licenses and discounts for nonprofits. You would need to buy WPML as all the other customers.
Here are the 2 questions that I have, please answer them.
1. Will i be able to renew the subscription manually rather than auto renewal? if so how will i be able to do that?
2. How will I be able to remove my payment details so as to avoid auto renewal?
I had previous bad experiences with hosting providers, so i would like to know how these things work with wpml. Will be looking forward for your answers.
1. Automatic Translation Service (by wpml.org) is free up to 12000 words and costs money after that. If wpml plugin translates an extra 5000 words per month for the cost of $2 each month, how does that work? Example: Lets say that my site has one post that uses the 5000 words extra each month, is that $2 each month, even though its translating the same post each month? Or is the $2 dependent on translating different words each month, another words a different new post that gets published? Or is the automatic translation service charging the $2 for any person from any country that comes to the site and chooses to see the site on their language?
Hello Paul,
now we provide 10000 words for free (please check more here). Once you apply your machine translations (which you can of course edit if needed) they are saved in your WordPress databases, which means that the post doesn’t need to be translated again unless you explicitly decide to do so. If you need more than 10,000 words per month you create an account for automatic translation and you are choosing your monthly plan as we explain here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/. We will charge you according to the number of words you have used. Please remember that you need to “send” your posts/page to translations so this is fully transparent and our system won’t choose any random posts without your realizing it. Please watch this video to understand how you apply machine translation: https://youtu.be/TmmyU6MtXY8
1. Will the WPML wordpress plugin translate the url of my website into the language that is picked from the settings? Example: I choose Korean as one of the languages, will the url be translated into Korean for the human reader? Will that URL also be in my XML sitemap or found by Google?
2. Will search engines be able to index my URL and page/post?
Hi,
1. Please take a look at the footer of this site (wpml.org). You will see other languages. Pick one and see how the URLs work. We use WPML on our site. It will help you understand it better. If you use a plugin that provides the XML sitemap and is compatible with WPML, yes, those URL will appear there. Please check this list of plugins: https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/
2. Yes, they will.
Hello There,
I am with Give-A-Mile, a non-profit charity based in Canada.
Our website is giveamile.org
We help people with flights to see their loved ones in times of crisis through donations of Airline Miles.
We use your plugin and our license has expired.
I was wondering if you have charity / non-profit pricing or some other program.
We are willing to give recognition on our website and on our social media profile.

Great, thanks Agnes – is there a mechanism for enabling this lanaguage switching only on certain posts, can you point me to anything in the documentation for example? I just need to get a rough idea as to how we would implement this with WPML.
Thanks Mercedes, that’s helpful – if we wanted the switcher to display conditionally I’m guessing we’d need to code that ourselves, is that right? Is it easy to work out (in code) whether posts have translations or not?
Hello Toby,
could you please give me an example of what you would like to translate conditionally? 99% cases don’t require any conditional translation that would involve custom coding. Help me try to understand your case.
The site already has many English language posts. A small number of these are going to be translated into at least one other language, and only those posts should show the language switcher – do you see what I mean?
So the conditional logic is just to show the switcher – if a post has more than one language version available show the switcher, otherwise don’t.
Thank you. You will handle this with WPML settings. You just need to choose “Skip language” under “How to handle languages without translation” and that’s it.
Thanks for your help Agnes – WPML sounds good, is there an option to trial it or do we need to pay for it and get a refund if we can’t do what we need with it?

Hi! I am looking at the possibility to transfer an account renewal to a costumer. But… they use WPML on three websites with the same domain name with /2020, /2018 and /2016. If I transfer the account renewal, will they be able to use it on the 3 web sites?

Hello, if you use one registration key for their domain it should work. But me double-check the developer who implemented the system to make sure.
Eva, our dev says that in this case, it makes better sense for you to buy the CMS subscription (when you need 3 domains).
Hi Agnes,
I already have a CMS subscription, 2 actually… It’s quite confusing. I will send an e-mail using the contact form, to find out what’s going on. Thanks for your help so far!

Hello,
thank you for your interest in WPML. Unfortunately, we don’t have any free licenses and discounts for nonprofits. You would need to buy WPML as all the other customers.

Hello,
You can cancel your subscription anytime. You will find an option to do so in your WPML account. You can then renew your subscription again.
Hi,
Would you need to purchase one license for a multi-site setup or would you need a license per site / subdomain?
Thx.
Hello Sebastian. For WordPress Multisite you need to use only one registration key and use it for your main site.

Please remember that you need to “send” your posts/page to translations so this is fully transparent and our system won’t choose any random posts without your realizing it. Please watch this video to understand how you apply machine translation: https://youtu.be/TmmyU6MtXY8
Hi,
Thanks

Hello Jack,
I’m sorry but we don’t have any discounts for non-profits.
Hi Agnes, Thank you for the swift reply! You made my day 🙂
Is it possible to use your plugin to offer translations of certain posts only, rather than the the whole site?
Thanks.
Hello, sure, it is possible.
Great, thanks Agnes – is there a mechanism for enabling this lanaguage switching only on certain posts, can you point me to anything in the documentation for example? I just need to get a rough idea as to how we would implement this with WPML.
Hi Toby,
Please check here https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/#language-switcher
Thanks Mercedes, that’s helpful – if we wanted the switcher to display conditionally I’m guessing we’d need to code that ourselves, is that right? Is it easy to work out (in code) whether posts have translations or not?
Thanks for your help with this.
Hello Toby,
could you please give me an example of what you would like to translate conditionally? 99% cases don’t require any conditional translation that would involve custom coding. Help me try to understand your case.
Agnes, I think I’ve probably explained it badly!
The only way to test WPML is you buy it and ask for a refund in case it doesn’t satisfy your needs. https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
You choose the posts (and the content) that need to be translated, so if you don’t want to translate a specific post, don’t do anything with it.
