Hi Agnes,
Thank you for your answer.
Actually, my website was created by an agency and the WPML plugging is active. The problem is I m not able to upgrade the last version of this plugging since the WPML account belongs to the agency. Do I need to buy by myself a new licence? Then, link the plugging to the site, right? I m wondering if I need to erase the former version of the WPML plugging if I buy a new licence? Do my work will be adversely affected by the replacing of the plugging?
I hope you understand my questions
Hello Sara,
if your site already uses WPML plugins (and the main WPML plugin is active) and you want to upgrade them to the latest versions, your site needs to be registered. Please log into your WordPress site, go to Plugins > Add new > Commercial tab to see if your site is registered. If it is, you can update your plugins even now from within that panel. If your site is not registered, you need to register it with a key that you generate on your WPML account. If you don’t have access to any WPML account with an active subscription you can buy a new one (visit our purchase page: https://wpml.org/purchase/), it doesn’t matter that your site is already using WPML plugins. As soon as you register your site and enter the new key, you can update the existing plugins. If everything goes fine, your existing content won’t be affected. But each site is different and sometimes it happens that updating plugins causes errors (it’s rare but possible) and that’s why we always recommend to make a full backup of your site or be in touch with your hosting provider to restore the previous version of your site in case of errors. You can also contact our support forum anytime: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/
Hello Dany,
the only way to test WPML plugins is to buy the WPML subscription keeping our refund policy in mind. It allows you to test WPML for 30 days and you can ask questions on our support forum during that trial. We don’t provide any free verison. If you have any other pre-sales questions feel free to ask me.
I would like to translate a WordPress website which is built with the “Advanced Custom Field” (ACF) plugin. I would like to ask which of your plans allows to translate text within custom fields. Is this possbile with the “Multilingual Blog” plan?
Hello Tobias. WPML works very well with ACF and custom fields but you need to buy the CMS package to use WPML with the plugin (the Blog package won’t suffice).
Hello Marin,
the only way to buy the WPML Multilingual Agency is to use this page: https://wpml.org/purchase/
You can also buy the Multilingual CMS for now and upgrade to the WPML Multilingual Agency later (for the different in the purchase price).
Hi.
I just saw my licence expired on June this year and you were not able to charge it from the saved card. Now, when I try to renew it I cannot see the promised price for the renewal…it sends me to the purchase page (https://wpml.org/purchase/) to buy a new licence at the full price. Any help with this?
Thank you,
Raul
Hello Raul,
nothing we can do now, I’m sorry but if you want to update WPML you need to follow the new pricing. We sent emails to our existing clients about the price increase before increasing the pricing (we also wrote a few posts about it) and we are also sending email notifications before your subscription year ends and also when we cannot renew the subscription.
Hello,
I checked the user with the email you posted this comment with and I can see that your Multilingual CMS expired on April 30, 2018. If you have another WPML account, with a different email, please kindly post your comment again using the other email and I will check the status in our system. But if your current email is valid, you need to log into your WPML account and then buy WPML again from this page: https://wpml.org/purchase/ using the new pricing.
Can you give an answer, is it legal usage of your plugin? And may I ask your opinion on the provision of such a service? It’s cheaper than buying a license from your website.
Hello,
we are the only legal owner and provider of WPML plugins. But anyone who buys WPML is allowed to install it on his/her customers’ sites. If this person is our client they can do it for you. If you want to use WPML with your own email and you want to be able to open tickets on our support forum, it’s better to buy your own WPML account.
Hello Nil,
We tested until RT-theme 18 https://wpml.org/developer/stmcan/
You can try it and see how it works. If needed you can ask for help in our forum and we can contact the author.
If it doesn’t work after all, we will issue you a refund. You have up to 30 days https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds/
I have a site with 800+ posts (1M words). If I want to translate this automatically to 20 languages, but this is very expensive to do via WPML. I see that 200K credits cost $180 = 100K words = $1800 per site x 20 = $36K for my project. Not possible! Do you have a larger bulk one-time credit offer for new customers? Thanks!
Hello Anton,
thank you for your interest in WPML. New clients get some credits for free depending on the subscription type you buy. For example, if you buy the Multilingual CMS package you will get 90000 free credits, then, you can subscribe to credits according to this pricing table: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/
This is what we have for now. We are considering changing the prices for users who buy big amounts of credits (the more you buy, the less you pay per credit) but these are future plans
.
We have a website for which only a subset of the content has been translated. We do not want to display the option to translate the page on pages that do not yet have translations available. I was searching the documentation to find out if this is possible with WPML and found this support thread suggesting that, as of late 2020, it was not.
Hello,
if a given post/page wasn’t translated WPML won’t show the language switcher for the original post/page. That’s the default option. I’m not sure how you plan to translate your site. WPML offers three options:
1. You translate manually
2. You translate automatically everything
3. You decide what content to translate and what don’t. Here you can translate manually and use machine translations
Machine translation can be manually edited in all cases. Please let me know which option you are interested in.
Hello
I bought your wpml and string translation module and am really unhappy.
I’ve been trying to translate my pages and my plugins for several days now and I have 2 problems that I can’t solve.
1- there is a 404 error for all translations
2- I did not manage to translate the menus
when I change the language my theme is not kept.
Can you help me please because I don’t know what to do anymore.
I can give you admin access to the website and ftp if you want. http://riad.enprod.org/
Hello,
sorry to hear you have issues. Our supporters are there to help you. Please open a ticket on our support forum: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/ and describe your problem and someone from our Technical Team will help you
Hi
is it possible to use wpml to change my site language for menus widgets and … instead of contents?
I have an online community based on buddy boss(BuddyPress) I just want when users to change the language to another one then load the theme and widgets and plugins in the mentioned language ? but showing the contents in the original language
I added language to my site it’s showing in the menu i change the language but nothing is happened
Hi!
Which menu? If the main menu, it is related to the translated content? So, unless you create a custom menu with translated labels pointing to the content in the secondary languages, I think we don’t have options for that.
Also, check our add-on for BuddyPress https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/buddypress-multilingual/
We would like to purchase a WPML product, but the only payment method that I see in my screen is PayPall. Is there another payment method available? We do not have a PayPal account and do not want to create one.
Hello Georgii,
I am afraid we stopped selling lifetime subscrioptions more than 3 years ago.
You are welcome to try our Agency subscription and join our Affiliate program https://wpml.org/account/affiliate/
Hi guys, my website was created by a freelancer and he used WPML plugin, he has an agency version. I want to buy 900 000 translation credits, how I can do that since the credits are shown pricing up to 500 000?
Are there any discounts on more than 500k credits?
Looking forward your reply.
Hi. We have experimented with multiple plugin for wordpress site translation.
there has been many problem when we should translate some of our site elementor objects. Is there any why that we can test if your plugin works??
We are really interessted an trail periode of 10 days or less. If it’s works we will have no problem to pay for your plugin.
Best regards Nikolaj

We are launching our new site very soon (an hour from now)….. My question is: ‘Does your plug-in allow for the site viewers to change the language on the page or….?
I need to transfer this site to Czech. Maybe these are dumb questions….. 1) Does the classic translation editor translate a language that can later be edited/corrected? 2) what happens if I just want to make a couple pages in Czech live and then slowly work on other pages?
Hello Ross,
Thank you for your interest in WPML.
By saying ” need to transfer this site to Czech. ” do you mean that you need to make your site bilingual, in English and in Czech (A) or you just want your site to be in one language – Czech (B). WPML is used for A. What do you mean by classic translation editor? Do you refer to our WPML editor? If so, can I ask why do you consider using this classic editor? We recommend using the Advanced Translation Editor instead (called ATE). Only ATE can use machine translations and these translations can be edited. In the classic editor you need to provide your translations manually. Yes, you can translate only a few pages first and then slowly work on other pages.

Hi WPML,
I would to test the Multilingual CMS and therefore my question: is there a free trial period?
Because of testing so many different plugins to find the perfect combination, it’s hard to pay for every plugin even if there is a refund option 😬
Many thanks in advance,

Hi,
What license is your code under?
I was hoping to purchase the WordPress plugin and then edit and change some of the code myself to better fit the requirements of my client.
Do you allow for this?
Thanks
Bill
Yes, custom changes in code are allowed because WPML uses the GPL type of license.
Hello!
Is it possible to use alternative methods of payment?
We are big company and we can’t use PayPal.
Can we pay through invoice?
You can pay by credit card too. On your checkout please click on “Use a different payment processor” link (at the very bottom of the page).
