    • Hello, 1 credit = 1 word if you use the Microsoft translation engine (commonly known as the bing translator). WPML supports two other engines: Google Translate (1 words requires 2 credits) and DeepL (1 word requires 3 credits). Google Tranaslate is set by default. So, if you install WPML, assign all your 90 000 credits to your site and choose the “Translate everything” mode we offer in the wizard, your site will be translated with Google Translate, which will allow you to translate 45 000 words. If you would like to switch to DeepL (which offers better quality than Google Translate – you can check it here), please choose the “Translate some” mode in WPML’s wizard and change the translation engine to DeepL before enabling the “Translate everything” mode. Here you can see the pricing in case you need more translation credits:

  1. Hi there,

According to your website, the free version of the ‘WooCommerce PDF Invoices & Packing Slips’ plugin is not compatible with WPML, only the paid version of that particular plugin is. Will my website break if I use the free version of that plugin or will I just be unable to translate invoices & packing slips into different languages? The latter I can live with to be honest.

    Thanks!

    • If a plugin is considered not compatible with WPML it means that you might not be able to translate everything that the plugin provides, as you say – for example invoices. But it will work fine.

  2. Hello,

I was looking to purchase WPML and was wondering if the CMS option listed at $ 99 is a one time payment. No yearly renewal.
This is for a non-profit organization website so you understand that they run on a tight budget.

    Thanks!

  3. Hi there,

We are looking for a new translation plugin for our website. We are currently with TranslatePress but are running into some issues with memory usage and crashing the website.

    I had some questions though:

    1. Does the website translate and use credits every single time a page loads or is it a one time translation/anytime you make an update?

    2. How much does it cost when you go over the allocated credits? Say if we paid for the Multilingual Agency plan but used 300,000 words?

Our biggest fear, being a commerce website, is that we will go way over our limit with our products and owe a ton of money every month.

    Thank you for your time!

    • Hello Joshua,
      1. Does the website translate and use credits every single time a page loads or is it a one time translation/anytime you make an update?
      >It is a one time translation/anytime you make an update

      2. How much does it cost when you go over the allocated credits? Say if we paid for the Multilingual Agency plan but used 300,000 words?
We charge per translated word/language. We are integrated with 3 translation engines and price varies depending on the selected one, too.
See our pricing and you are welcome to get a rough estimation here

  4. Thank you, Mercedes. I’ll ask my client for the organization’s details.
Anyway, is WPML a one-time payment or it has to be renewed yearly?
It will only be used for this particular website

    Appreciate your assistance.

    Best,
    Madelon

    • If you want to keep updates and access to our technical support you need to yearly renew WPML (we provide discounts for next years) but renewals are not obligatory and you can cancel your WPML subscription at any time and keep using the WPML plugins but without updates.

  5. I will definitely not buy from them, simply because they don’t work.

They are a translation website, right? Your website is initially in English, when you change it to Spanish, in theory your system should work and change it to Spanish, right?
And after changing the language it should be maintained until a future change, right?
Well NO, it does not, so I will not be your customer. You are welcome

    • Hello Mario,
I’m not sure who you mean by “them” when saying “I will definitely not buy from them, simply because they don’t work.” If you want to know if WPML can translate your website, yes, it can. You are right that wpml.org is not a good example of a site that is fully translated to other languages because what will be translated depends on how you set up your site. You can set up your site to have everything translated or you can choose which content you can translate. Both options are possible. I hope it helps. Feel free to ask me any follow-up questions if needed.

    • Hello,
when you buy the CMS package it will allow you to register 3 production websites and 9 development websites. The development website will have an internal banner appearing on your WordPress admin saying that it is a development website.

  6. Hi,

Do you recommend any WPML Consultants that can assist us with our WPML installation. We have a list of requirements that we are looking to achieve, and would be really helpful if there’s someone who can assist us in finding the best way to meet these requirements.

We are willing to pay the consultant for their work.

    Regards,
    Ben

    • Hello,
please go to this page: https://wpml.org/contractors/ and click on the “More filters” below the “Find a developer” button. You will be able to search by location (country). This way you can find someone from your country. I don’t know anyone specific who is currently available but you can send a question to more than one developer. You need to be logged into your WPML account to contact these developers.

  7. Hola,
Un cliente está traduciendo su página web con WPML.
Tenéis un plan para solo una página web, vemos que el Multilingual CMS es para 3 páginas web, pero nos interesa la licencia para una sola web, tenéis otro plan con las características del Multilingual CMS para solo una sola web?

  8. Hello, i took too long to renew my wpml account purchase and now its saying i have to buy like its a new one and pay $99.
Previously you said $99 first year and then $50 a Year. I have been with WPML for a year does my discount still count ? Please provide us more information about this issue!

    • Hello,
if you use WPML continuously, account renewals cost 75% of the original price. We send two email reminders that your subscription is going to expire so you have a chance to renew it on time. You WPML expired in March, which was three months ago so in this case, you need to buy it again. Please log in to your WPML account before adding the package to your cart to keep using the same account.

  9. Hi, if I purchase the Multilingual CMS now, can I upgrade to Multilingual Agency later? and may I know the price?

    • Hey there,
Yes, you can upgrade directly from your account. You will need to pay only the difference between your license and Multilingual Agency at that moment.
      Regards

  10. Hi!
My main language is hungarian on the website and I want to translate it to English by myself (not automated translation). I would like to have a new menu, in english, with different menupoints (since blog part wont be translated). Is this all possible with WPML? My question is about mainly, if the main language is NOT english, will it work properly in that case too?
Thank you very much for your answer!

  11. Hello,
I have a website in Russian language and I need it to be translated to 1 more language. I have around 15 000 words. How much will be to translate the entire website? What is I go over the limits of your offer. What are the tariffs?
Does your plugin translate title, meta description and all SEO tags?

    Best Regards

  13. Hi there

What do you mean in “3 development websites” and “3 production websites“

    What deference please?

    Thank you

    • Developments sites will have a banner appearing on your backend saying it’s a development site. You can register 3 production and 9 development sites with the CMS package.

  14. Hello
I already have purchased the basic version of WPML-blog for one website. Now I need to create another multilingual site. When I log into my account and want to purchase another, i get this message “You have already activated this account. Please upgrade your account instead.”
Does this mean i have to create a different account for every blog or site using WPML ?
Thanks in advance for your input.
    Greetings
    Jacques

    • Hello Jacques, no, please don’t create a separate account. The message you see means you can upgrade your existing account. If the upgrade message provides a link to click, please follow the link. If it doesn’t check if you can see the upgrade link somewhere there on your basket. If not, please go to the checkout page and (while being logged in) and add the CMS package to your account. You should be able to upgrade it to the CMS package by paying only the difference between the price of the Blog and CMS types of account.

    • Jacques, I’ve checked your case with our admin and here’s what you can do. In your wpml.org account, please take a look at the sidebar. And the follow your link upgrade options (/compare-between-wpml-versions/) This will direct you to a page with the options to upgrade and you can select the CMS from there.

  15. In fact, the picture is not completely clear, but it’s okay, if you had a live example of both types, the picture would be very clear

    • Hello,
what do you mean by both types? Live and development sites? There is no difference except the backend msg you will see if you register as the development website. In the past we would allow the CMS users to register only 3 production sites and that was it. But then people complained that they don’t want to “waste” their registration keys for development sites and that’s why we added the possibility to register additional websites but these need to be marked as “development” ones.

  16. Hi,
My need is to have a plugin that creates a “duplicate” site of the original one in another language. I have the translations of all the copys ready and I wouldn’t use any automatic translation service. I’m not able to understand what are the real differences between the Multilingual Blog plan and the Multilingual CMS plan. The site in question is an onepage of a restaurant, no e-commerce or anything else. I think the cheapest plan is enough but I would like to have confirmation from you.

    Thank’s,
    DC

    • Hello Daniele,
in your case using the Blog package might suffice. Please note that the Blog package doesn’t contain the WPML String Translation plugin which might be needed to translate some special texts coming from certain themes and plugins if there is no other way to translate those. But you can upgrade from the Blog package to the CMS package later if needed. In this video I’m showing how you translate your site with the Blog package and how you translate yuor site with the CMS package: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UHpdYNR9iZuwWTCKZgGymOF9y28f5lPD/view?usp=sharing

  17. Hello,
we recently acquired a client that has an outdated plugins and theme. It has several issues and there’s no way of contacting the previous company that made the website. We are thinking about recreating the website on fresh installation on a subdomain and later putting it on their domain. My question is about the licensing. I know WPML was previously bought for this domain and I’d like to know if there will be any conflicts if we buy your plugin for the same domain but from the account we are going to make.

    • Hello Magda,
yes, you can buy WPML with your email and use WPML with a different account. If WPML is registered with the previous client’s key, please go to PLugins > Add new > Commercial tab and unregister it. Then register it again with your key.

  18. Hi Agnes, thanks for the reply.
I wanted to ask you about your sentence “Please note that the Blog package doesn’t contain the WPML String Translation plugin which might be needed to translate some special texts coming from certain themes and plugins if there is no other way to translate those. “Can you give me some concrete examples of the special texts that the Blog package cannot translate? If it’s useful, the theme in which I intend to use, it’s Enfold by Kriesi.
