  2. Hi I have a few questions
    – Read out aloud – does the software read out the text aloud ?
https://reciteme.com/ – how does your product compare to this ?
    – List of languages – how can I find the list of languages ?

    Many thanks

    • Hi David,
No, WPML i does not read out laud text. It’s a different sort of plugin to allow you to make your website multilingual within the same WP install. Everything happens in written mode.
You can see a little video of how it works here https://wpml.org/

  3. Is the usage of wpml gdpr conformous?
What kind of data will submitted to which place while using this tool?

  4. Hi,

How much flexibility in terms of design and how the user interacts with the language selection do you allow?

    • Hello Jack,
if you use our ATE editor (Advanced Translation Editor), which is WPML’s default translation editor, you don’t have any flexibility in terms of the design because the design/layout of the translated page will be exactly the same as your original page’s design. You just translated texts. Please see an example here: https://cdn.wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/managing-glossary-1.png

But you can disable this editor (both before and after translating your page) and then, you have full control over the translated page design because the translated page will open in the WordPress editor. To disable the ATE editor you need to open your original page/post for editing and you will find an option to do so on the right-hand side of your page sidebar.

You can disable ATE for individual pages or all pages.

  6. If I take a Multilingual CMS subscription for one website. After one year, if I choose to not renew my subscription, will I loose all the translation on my website ?

  7. Hello, I am interested to buy your plugin. But I wish to know what does it mean that support & updates are included only for 1 year. Will I be able to update plugin after 1 year? Thnx

    • Hello, to receive our support help on our forum and plugin updates after the first year you need to pay for another year (75% of your original price).

    • Hello Tanja,
No, we stopped selling lifetime subscriptions a long time ago. All our packages have a yearly renewal fee.

  8. Hi,

I’m thinking of purchasing this plugin for my multilingual website thevpncoupon.com and would like to translate all pages to multilingual (currently have five languages on the site), and I’m also planning to use it on a new website I’m building.

I was wondering what 90,000 translation credits mean on your pricing page? Do I get to use 90K of translations per month, or is it a total?

  9. Dear team
kindly note I need your support and help before I add your plugin to my staging/demo environment as we are a Saudi Arabia-based company and our default theme language is Arabic and we need to translate everything to English:
I need to ask if you support import/export by excel to translate all products title, and content to English one time not manually SKU by SKU.
The same applies to web pages about us, contact us… I need to understand more if you support Arabic and the RTL text direction from right to left and vice versa. let me know to proceed thanks!
dear @andrescifuentesr thanks for your support and kind reply. My concern after I buy the WPML license, I have around 3000SKU I need to translate product content title, description categories, and everything from Arabic to English, will I be able to manage that with WPML via import/export excel? it’s very important to know before I buy or purchase anything if you can confirm that, please.

    referring to this topic: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/arabic-rtl-3/#post-15799434

    • Hello there,
Thank you for posting your question here. 🙂

Regarding your first question, yes, it is possible to import/export your products with an excel/CSV file. For that it is necessary to use a plugin as WP All Import, WooCommerce Import Add-On Pro and our bridge plugin WPML All Import as explained here.

Regarding your RTL question, yes, if your theme supports RTL, WPML will do it as well. You can find more information about it here.

Keep in mind that you can buy a WPML license and try our product for 30 days trial period.

      I hope it helps.
      Andrés

  10. Hi,
I have some questions before I buy the plugin.
We have a site that needs lots of translation. Your Multilingual CMS plan whose price is $99/year comes with 90,000 credits. I am not sure how many pages will cover by this credit. How can I buy more credits to translate all of my pages?
Can you help me to decide that?

    Thanks,
    Frank | Pixacreatives

  11. Hi,
We are using this plugin in our site tecsys.dk. We are redesigning the site in a staging environment. How can we use the plugin in our staging site?

    Thanks in advance.

    • Hello,
Yes, you can but you will need to register this site too. You can register your site as “development” and this way you won’t need to use an extra production slot for the registration key.

  12. Hello Team,

I am going to purchase WPML plugin. Before I purchase I have some questions.

1 – Have 4 custom post types and custom fields (ACF Plugin) for manage my website content. Is it possible to manage custom post data and custom field data manage for individual languages?

2 – Once I will purchase the plugin, after 1 year I need to renew this plugin or it will be onetime cost for lifetime period?

    Best Regards,
    Pankit Gajjar

    • Hello,
      1. Not sure what you mean to manage for individual languages. If you make your post type translatable, it will become translatable for all the languages you are using. The same applies to custom fields. You can make a custom field translatable or you can copy its value for the translated post but again, it will affect all your languages the same way. In other words you cannot say this: please make custom field A translatable for language X but for language Y, don’t allow to translate it. Did I answer your question?
      2. If you buy WPML, we will set up a subscription that will try to auto-renew after the first year (for the 75% of your current price). You can cancel your subscription at anytime and still use WPML plugins but without access to updates and our support help.

  13. Hello,

If I want 4 english sites, like usa english, british english, ca english, Australia english. Do these 4 english sites need 4 production? that means agency account?

    thanks

    • Hello,
you need to use only one registration key in this case (even if you decide to use separate domains for languages). If you want to keep separate English versions here are a few notes you should be aware of:
      1. You would need to add each of these language versions as a separate language. And it needs to be so-called “custom language” https://wpml.org/documentation/support/editing-wpmls-languages-table/
      2. If you are interested in using machine translations, please note that we don’t provide special (separate) versions for each of these English languages. It’s just one English and you would need to manually edit the translations.

  14. 1 – I have different custom post types like project, products and testimonials. I want to manage all custom post types in different languages.

Is it possible to manage all custom post types in WPML plugin?

2 – All custom post types content manage using ACF plugin.

Is it possible to manage all custom post types in WPML plugin?

  15. Hi, I’m considering buying this plugin for my website, but I’m not sure which plan would work best for me. I see that there are three different plans on the website and I’m not sure which one would be best for a blog that publishes 30+ posts monthly (around 150K+ words).

Can you please help me out?

    • Hello,
if you need automatic (machine) translation, you need the CMS package because the blog package doesn’t support automatic translations. But if you want to translate your articles manually, you can buy the Blog package. In this video I’m showing how each of these two packages works.

  16. Hey,

I would like to make different multilingual sites instead of just translating the content on subdomains. So is it possible to do this by using one website as the main? I’m planning on making 3 such websites including the main one with content in English.

I would also like to know about the plan which I need to purchase for this.

    • Hello,
when you use WPML, your languages are added to your site in (virtual) subfolders. For your site’s visitors, it will look like this https://pixelexecutive.com/ (please check the language switcher with flags). You manage all these languages on the same WordPress admin as you normally do. But now, for Pages and Post you will see flags to change the language and to edit the translations. Is this what you need? If you have to do this on 3 different websites, then you will need the CMS package.

  17. I’m looking to purchase WPML for my site to add 4 additional languages. I’m unsure if I need the CMS or Agency subscription. Does each language count as a “site” for the 3 site maximum under CMS, or is that counting separate WordPress installs?

    • Hi Dawn,
The CMS version will be OK. This is counting a separate WordPress install, i.e. a separate url
You can register one url and translate to as many languages as you want, and it will still count as one site.

      Best regards,

    • Yes, you can use your credit card. On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.

  18. My company needs not only multiple languages, but multiple languages within certain countries. For instance in Switzeland there is German, French and Italian. So when someone from Switzerland visits the site, they see the Swiss country flag, but have 3 choices for languages. This is also due to currency, as the Italian in Italy uses Euros, while in Switzerland they use CHF. Therefore I would assume to have 2 Italian translations, 2 DE and 2 FR. Can this be regulated with WPML?

  19. Hi There,
I am building a website that allows admins to manage course information in 3 different languages effortlessly.

Each course’s information (in all 3 languages) should be managed using ACF and the information (course details, dates, opening, etc) is easily populated/modified using WordPress Ultimate CSV, XML Importer Pro.

Which WPML Package is most suitable for me in this scenario?
I would be needing the auto-translation most of the translation is already done.

    • Hello,
to use WPML with ACF you need the CMS package.
We are compatible with https://wpml.org/plugin/wordpress-ultimate-csv-importer-pro/ too.
You mentioned auto-translation. If you use ACF, when setting up WPML and going through the WPML wizard, please don’t choose “Translate Everything” but please choose “Translate some”. It will allow you to configure ACF before your start using automatic translation. Then you can test automatic translation on a few pages and if everything works as you expect, then you can go to WPML settings and switch to “Translate everything” if you still have this need.
