Thanks for the reply. So yes, as a developer we might do a website for an Italian company. We build it in English as we are english, but want the site to Load in Italian.
Is there documentation somewhere to explain how to do that?
Is your site going to be available in both languages? English and Italian? Is this what you mean? If that’s the case, yes, WPML will help here. But if your site is going to be available only in Italian (one language) and you are looking for a way to translate your English strings to Italian, you don’t need WPML – the Loco Translate plugin will suffice. I’ll be happy to provide you with the documentation you need but I’d like to understand better what process you would like us to explain.
WPML allows you to see the backend in the language you want and it doesn’t need to be the primary language of your site. Each admin user of your WordPress site can set up the backend language of their choice.
Hello! Our client wishes to pre-pay for a 5 years subscription to the WPML plugin. Presently on the payment system, you can only pay for a one year at a time. Is there a way to pay for 5.
Thanks kindly!
Hello,
The normal flow is to have your WPML account auto-renewed each year automatically. Officially there is no way to pay for 5 years in advance but if you switch to manual renewals (automatic renewals is the default) you can pay for the next year in advance. I will check if you can repeat this process 4 times in a row and this way have it pre-paid for 5 years in advance. I will keep you posted.
Hello again,
I have tested the workflow and it’s possible to pay for WPML for 5 years in advance in the following way:
1. You buy and pay for the first year ($99)
2. You go to your WPML account and you hover over the Modify link (three vertical dots next to the renewal date)
3. You click Cancel subscription
4. You select the first option – switching to manual renewals
5. After refreshing the screen, on the Account page: you hover over the Modify link again (three vertical dots next to the renewal date)
6. You click Renew for another year, you will pay only 75% of your initial price
7. You repeat this for as many years as you want
I notice that you use virtual sub domains so my question I have is two fold….
1. As these are virtyal sub domains (www.site,com/fr) do these get indexed by google for seo and indexting in that country and is this as good as propert sub domains?
2. How can I setup a propert sub domain per country/language so that for example http://www.site.com/fr has all the languages saved.
Hello,
1. Yes, the do get indexed by google.
2. Your example (http://www.site.com/fr) is using subdirectories for languages which the default option of WPML.
Hi,
We were developing a website using WPML and some time ago our domain name changed. Our developer license expired and possibly the site was deleted from the developer account before that.. Is it possible in this situation to revalidate the WPML subscription WordPress admin > Commercial tab as described here https://wpml.org/purchase/paying-wpml-renewal-for-my-site/ ?
Hi, yes, it is possible. You need to log into again into your existing WPML account and purchase WPML again. But I cannot see any WPML account associated with the email address you used to post this comment.
I would like to know if this $99 is one time buy, & there would be no renewal charges included within it.
I basically just want to buy it for one time 1 Production and 1 development site.
Please clear my query asap, because my client is looking to buy it on the go.
Hello,
when you buy WPML a subscription with automatic renewals is set up. But renewals are optional and you can cancel renewals at any time and still use WPML but in this case without access to new versions and our support assistance. If you decide to renew it, you will pay 75% of the initial price per each year. You can use the CMS pakcgae for 3 production websites and 9 development websites.
Thank you for the reply Andres. Is there a way of directing the UK and USA customers to the different versions of the home page, or do they have to choose for themselves when they arrive? Ideally, UK customers would see the UK home page and menu, and the USA customers would see the USA home page and menu. Ref commnet 7004235.
For redirecting your costumers, you can think about using a browser language redirection, in that case there should be a match between your visitor browser’s language and your custom language.
Otherwise, you can consider using an IP redirection plugin as IP2Location Redirection plugin.
Regards,
Andrés
I cannot log in there to make purchases, because it is the account of another firm. I was their client. Furthermore that WPML account/license expired and our site was probably deleted from that account before it expired.
Is it possible in this situation to revalidate the WPML subscription on my website by going to WordPress admin > Commercial tab as described here https://wpml.org/purchase/paying-wpml-renewal-for-my-site/ ? If yes, who can i email if it goes wrong?
Hello,
you can buy WPML for yourself and generate a new registration key for your site. You don’t need o rely on the old account. WPML accounts and WPML plugins can work independently. You just need to cross-link them using a registration key to receive updates. So please buy WPML with your own email and then on your WordPress site if you have WPML installed, please go to Plugins > Add New > Commerceial tab and register WPML by clicking on the registration link.
As we going to use your plugin on our platform so we want to know that your plugin is compatible with below standards.
1) NCA approved solution compliant with
national data governance interim regulations version 1 june 1st 2020
national data management office data management and personal data protection standards version 1.5 january 2021
cscc – 1:2019, ecc – 1:2018
2) ISO – 9001 and 27001.
$39 is the price of the Blog account, not sure which package you are interested in.
$39 is also the price for so-called “transferred” accounts but here you can use it only for one site.
A mew CMS account costs $99 for the first year, then you will get 75% discount.
Hello, I use WPML for 3 years now and in 19th of February (today is 24) my subscription was canceled because the transaction failed without any email or notification and now I have to buy the subscription again! This is insane!
Hello,
we are sending emails with reminders. We will check our email logs if all the relevant emails were sent. But what I can see your WPML subscription expired one year ago. I checked your account with the email address you used to post this comment.
We have checked our email logs and we sent all the emails to you including the one that said that your payment failed. Please check your spam folder. You can also white list our email address not to miss any of our emails in the future.
if I have 2 diferent WordPress Installations – one on a TLD example.de and another on a Subdomain sub.example.de.
Which license do I need then?
Thanks!
Andrea
Yes, you can but with the Blog package you won’t be able to translate automatically. If that’s okay for you, you can buy the Blog package. Also, the Blog package doesn’t include the String Translation plugin which can be useful to translate some texts from your plugins and theme, especially if your plugins/theme don’t provide the translatins of the text they use (in so-called po/mo files)
You can keep using your existing account. Please log in and then purchase. You lost your discounts because the break was too long and how our system works allows you to keep the previous pricing only for one month after being late.
Firstly, I bought the WPML plugin from a seller named Murat Bürün for 400 Turkish Lira. When I asked why it was so cheap, he said that he purchased the Multilingual Agency package. I trusted him and made the purchase. I was wondering if he has ever purchased the plugin from you?
Secondly, I have installed the plugin and it works fine for translating from English to six different languages, including Polish, Bulgarian, French, German, and Dutch. However, after I complete the translations and save them, everything works fine for the first 5-6 hours, but then my pages automatically switch back to English, which is the default language. Can you please help me understand why this is happening? I am getting really frustrated.
Of course, we have technical experts to help you out. Please go to our support and report a new issue. If there is someone available at this moment you will have a live chat, if not, someone will get back to you as soon as possible. You need to be logged into your WPML accunt to see “Report a new issue” link.
Well I guess you haven’t read my first message. It’s only been 5 days since the subscription canceled. Well this is unacceptable and I do not want your services anymore. You do not even have a decent support system…
Hello Martha,
I have checked your account again. I see the payment for the renewal due in February 2022 was not processed either. Your account expired on Feb 19th 2022, that is more than a year ago.
If you are looking at another account, registered with another email address different from the one you’re using to contact us here, can you please send me the details to hello@wpml.org?
Yes, you can use your credit card. On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.
Hello, I am developing a site in Spanish and English, I am making all the content in Spanish to later show it in English, what I want is that when a person who has the browser in English visits the web, the content automatically changes to English, without the need for the user to change it manually; also if there is no content translated to English then it shows the original content in Spanish. All this is possible to do with WPML? I use plugins like rev slider, yoast, and it is giving me problems with my actual plugin translator.
Hello Leo,
Yes, WPML has such a redirect feature (based on the user’s default language set in their browser) but this feature is disabled by default. Please note that most users don’t need this feature at all. As soon as your site is available in two languages, it will be indexed by Google (and other search engines) in both languages and users who are searching for something in Google will be provided the version (links) in their language. Yes, WPML is compatible with Rev slider and Yoast plugins.
Hello 🙂
since i have already created many pages on my website with a language folder
did wpml can take “control/adopt” the pages that are already created by me and get them language tag html lang=
and make it also change language “dynamically” as wpml do already.
I have created those pages
exampleeee.com/page1/
exampleeee.com/page2/
exampleeee.com/page3/
also created manually translated pages
exampleeee.com/ar/page1/
exampleeee.com/ar/page2/
exampleeee.com/ar/page3/
I want to know if I have to recreate them with wpml those ar pages or wpml can take them even if I have created them manually. 🙂
thanks in advance
Hello Yossi,
In that case, you will need to manually link your translations to your pages as WPML won’t be able to recognise this automatically.
This can be easily done following this tutorial.
I hope it helps.
There is the option in our language switcher settings to add a link to translations above or below post content if a post or page is translated. You can also use a shortcode to display the language switcher on a page or post. Later this week we are planning to release WPML 4.6, which will also include a language switcher block that you can use on pages and posts. You can read more about language switchers here: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/#custom-locations
Hello,

We sent you a few email reminders about your renewal date approaching and even one more after you missed your renewal. We encourage you to use automatic renewals (this is the default option after buying WPML) not to forget to renew your WPML account again.
My website needs to be in English and German language. I use to have a company who use to take care but now i am not in contract with them anymore. Do i have to buy new licence or can it be renewed? I urgently require that. I dont have any login details. Can someone help me please?
Hello,
If you don’t have any login details to the previous WPML account, please buy a new one. Then generate a new key and on your WordPress sites that uses WPML please go to Plugins > Add new > Commercial tab and unregister your existing site and register it agian using the new key.
Hi, I don’t know if it is the right place to ask? I don’t see any answer to my question.
I have 1150332 Credits for automatic translation in my account WPML. I have assigned to my website https://www.prositeweb.ca/. But when I’m logging in my website, I am unable to see those credits for automatic translated. The website is requesting a new purchase.
Just to clarify the issue.
I deleted my WMPL license some years ago, and I had some credit (1150332) left from my previous subscription. Now, I have bought a new subscription. And I can see the credit in my WPML account, but I am unable to use it as, I have removed the original website from which I took those credits.
Hello,
if you have an active WPML subscription please log into your WPML and see if your site is still registered. https://wpml.org/account/sites/ If it is, please locate it on the list of websites on https://wpml.org/account/ page. This is another list. If you can see your site there you should be able to remove your credits (use the Add/Remove credits button) otherwise your credits might be lost but best would be to go to our support forum and open a new thread to sort out this issue. From what I checked your site has been registered a few times back in the past and it was moved/copied a few times but I cannot see any credits assigned to any of these copies. If you see your credits at WPML account you will be able to assign them to any new sites you register.
Really strange. I have removed the website and reset the licence key. And now, I have lost the 180,000 translation credits that I had when I purpose the subscription and the remaining credits from the previous subscription. I had in total 1150332 credits in my account. And everything is gone?
I am sorry for this. In this case, please log in to your account and start a new ticket in the forum. One of our technical supporters will be able to assist you. https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/

Only 2 languages. But we need it available in English so we the devs can read it! But the default needs to be the language that we “add”.
So it “loads in Italian”, but with the English as an option. And English in which it is built.
WPML allows you to see the backend in the language you want and it doesn’t need to be the primary language of your site. Each admin user of your WordPress site can set up the backend language of their choice.

Hello,

Hello Vittoria,

Hi, I want *only parts* of my site to be translated into different languages, I dont want the whole site to offer translation.
Can i put the flag icons inside the page (ie not the header menu) so translation if offered on those pages only?
…and can some pages offer translation into german, and different ones into both french and italian?

Hi Sam – Yes, you can choose which pages get translated and into which language using the “Translate Some” translation mode: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/#translate-some
