This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You have multiple standalone websites, each in a different language, with about 1000 products on each site. You want to use WPML to manage hreflang linking semi-automatically but need to connect the existing pages manually without needing translations or duplications.
Solution:
If your content in the original and translated languages is on the same site, you can manually link them by following the steps described in this FAQ: https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-link-already-translated-pages/.
However, if the sites are different WordPress installations, WPML cannot be used as it only functions when the content is on the same site.

Please note that this solution might be irrelevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I have 14 fully completed standalone websites, each in a different language. I want to use WPML to semi-automatically manage the hreflang linking, but I need to connect the existing pages manually. I don't need any translations or duplication on my sites, just linking the already existing language versions together. Each language version contains approximately 1000 products.

Symptoms:
I'm unsure how to achieve manual linking of existing language versions using WPML.

Questions:
How can I manually connect existing pages in different languages using WPML without creating translations or duplications?

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us

If the content in the original and translated languages are on the same site, then you can link them by following the steps described in this FAQ: https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-link-already-translated-pages/

If the sites are different WordPress installations/sites, then you can't use WPML. WPML plugins only work if the content is on the same site.

Regards,
Carlos
