Hi there. The 90k credits you receive with your current subscription will remain in your account if you don't use them. I recommend using those before switching to pay-as-you-go because they are part of your account's benefits. I prefer to use something I have available already instead of paying for extra credits in a separate subscription type. After you use the 90k credits, you can activate the pay-as-you-go subscription type if you need more credits. That is just my recommendation. You can, of course, leave those credits under your WPML.org account and switch to pay-as-you-go if that's what you would prefer. Also, I want to make sure that there's not a misunderstanding here: the pay-as-you-go subscription type (used for the automatic translation functionality) is different than the WPML subscription required for being able to use WPML on your site and get support. I hope that you will find this information helpful. Please let me know if anything is not clear yet regarding this topic. Mihai Apetrei |

We plan to use the 90K credits but we estimate that we need significantly more credits to complete the translations and the pay as you go account is more economical than prepaid credit purchases. I don't know if I fully understand the distinction between the pay-as-you-go subscription type (used for the automatic translation functionality) and the WPML subscription required for being able to use WPML on the site. Can you please help me understand the differences? Right now the account is on the Multilingual CMS plan. Do we need to maintain the Multilingual CMS plan in order to move to a pay-as-you-go subscription? Thanks |

Hello there, I’m happy to provide more clarity on this. The Multilingual CMS subscription gives you access to the features listed in the middle column of the table here: https://wpml.org/purchase/. With an active subscription, you will be able to receive updates for WPML, use all WPML add-ons that enable you to translate themes and plugins, and access WPML support. Some of the subscription types mentioned on that page also include free automatic translation credits. These credits are already in your account and are included with the subscription at no extra cost. I recommend that you use these credits first before considering activating the pay-as-you-go option. While purchasing prepaid credits is more expensive, the 90,000 credits provided with your subscription incur no additional charges. You can find out how to sign up for the pay-as-you-go option here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/how-to-sign-up-for-pay-as-you-go/. For more information on WPML automatic translation credit pricing, please visit: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/. Could you let me know if this clarifies things for you? |
