Hi,

My questions at the moment are:
1) how can I set only new / old jobs translated automatically, all other things only manually?

Hi,

Here is the new ticket. You can go to WPML > Translation Management > Filter by post type job > Select posts and send them to automatic translation.

Refer documentation https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/#sending-content-for-automatic-translation

Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for this advice.
But what I need is automatically translation of new jobs, without doing a further step.
So how can I add automatically translation to the custom post type "job_listing", so that every new job is translated automatically?
Thanks, kind regards

Hi,

To translate every new job automatically, you can go to WPML > Settings > Translation Mode: Translate Everything Automatically and select the option translate new content only.
Also, ensure the option "Translate automatically" is enabled for the post type "job_listing" in the section Post Types Translation.

Refer documentation https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-custom-posts/

Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks, I did this now and this is what I need. Great.
But now I have the message in the backend top menu "Translate Everything Automatically 0 / 8
0%, less than 1 min remaining", this is since yesterday. Do I have to wait or shall I do something to have this working?
Thanks, kind regards

Hi,
A further question to this topic:
I set the custom type "job_listing" to "Translatable - only show translated items" and activated the automatically translation.
If I add now a new job in EN it is all ok, but if I now switch to DE, the url is only the post-ID and nothing of the post content is shown.
Here I think I have to wait on the translation, but this can take one hour, as a message showed me. In this time a user sees in DE a page with missing content, that is bad.
If I switch the translation mode to "Translatable - use translation if available or fallback to default language" the automatic switcher is not shown anymore.
So how can I have here a solution, that the not translated pages are shown with missing content until the translation is done?
Thanks, kind regards

Hi,
You separated my ticket into three parts, but now 2 of them have the same reason, so this problem here arose by with: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/how-can-i-disable-with-automatically-translation-of-the-title-and-the-description-of-a-job/#post-15691882.

But the "Translate Everything Automatically 0 / 8
0%, less than 1 min remaining" is unsolved.

Thanks, kind regards

Hi,

It could be related to the custom code that you added to your site. Please try to remove the custom code, enable a minimal environment as below and see if it helps:
- Deactivate all plugins except WPML plugins and WP Job Manager.
- Switch to a standard theme of WordPress.
❌ IMPORTANT: Please backup your database and website before proceeding ❌
You can use this plugin to create the backup: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/

Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks
