[Escalated to 2nd Tier] Problem with Custom Gutenberg Blocks building with ACF
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Our wait time is higher than usual, please make sure you are meeting the minimum requirement - https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements before you report issues, and if you can take a look at current Known Issues - https://wpml.org/known-issues/. Thank you.
Background of the issue:
I am building pages using custom Gutenberg blocks based on ACF fields. According to instructions, I created wpml-config.xml and made a schema for one block.
Symptoms:
When I try to send the page translator, it still shows me one word to translate.
Questions:
Why does the page translator only show one word to translate after setting up wpml-config.xml?
I'm consulting our second-tier supporters about this case and will update you once I receive their reply.
Meanwhile, it would be good if you could install your custom blocks on a sandbox site I created to see if the problem also occurs on a fresh WordPress + WPML installation. You can access it through this link:

With this link, you'll be directly logged in.
I already configured WPML to have English as the default language and Dutch as the second language. Important! Do not import your site to the test site. We must replicate the problem on a fresh, clean WordPress installation.
Thanks,
Itamar.
We don't have FTP access to those sandbox sites. However, I installed the WPFile Manager plugin; you can upload files using this plugin. Please see the attached screenshot.
Our second-tier supporter suggested checking the _wpml_word_count meta_key in the postmeta table. But I'll be able to check it once you proceed with replicating the problem on the sandbox site.
I created a new Sandbox for you, please consider that trying to upload a copy of the site will indeed trigger a fatal error, so if it was what you were trying to to, it's expected.
I'm back and will continue to help you with this issue.
On the sandbox site, I configured WPML to have English as the default language and Dutch as the secondary language. I also installed ACF Pro on this site.
