Background of the issue:
I added some new sections to my website and need to buy sufficient credits for automatic translation, but only for one language (Italian). The other two languages are already translated. I am using WPML for this process. (to do that, I also need to calculate the word amount in pages of those new untranslated sections - how?)
Symptoms:
The 'Simulate your translation price' calculator doesn't show the same price as 'Buy Prepaid Packages' on the WPML pricing page.
Questions:
Do I need to temporarily switch to the advanced translation editor for automatic translation and can I switch back to the classic editor afterward?
We recommend you use our Pay-as-you-go option for automatic translation credits. It is more economical than the prepaid packages. You can only use the Advanced Translation Editor for automatic translation. And you can't switch to the Classic Translation Editor after you have automatically translated with the Advanced Translation Editor. You risk losing your translations.

What do you mean?
When I automatically translated original content of the website to italian previously, I normally switched to classic editor (which is active now), and auto translated italian content is still fine
As I understood it works like this - plese confirm:
✔️ When you use the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE) with Google Translate, WPML stores translations in its database.
✔️ If you switch back to the Classic Translation Editor, those translations will still exist and be used on the frontend.
✔️ However, you won't be able to edit those translations in the Classic Editor anymore because ATE and Classic Editor store translations differently.
❌ Once you switch back to the Classic Editor, you cannot edit existing ATE translations in it.
❌ If you later switch back to the Advanced Editor, you might lose manual edits made in the Classic Editor (WPML may warn you before switching).
✔️ Your translations will stay visible on the frontend, regardless of the editor used
I'm not sure what you are asking. Some of the sentences you wrote contradict each other.

I answered that you can only get automatic translation using the Advanced Translation Editor. And, if you switch too often between the Translation Editors, you take the risk of losing translations. However, if a specific method works for you, keep doing it.
