Tell us what you are trying to do? Get rid of error msg. This is concerning a problem Subash helped me with last week on a previous ticket - "This Site has moved to a new location". It was showing on uprdev.com - Subash helped me to fix it on uprdev.com, but it started showing up in uprtek.com. If I click the "indicate this site ...." on uprtek.com, the msg shows up on uprdev.com again.

It seems if we fix it on one, it shows up on another.

Is there any documentation that you are following? No

Is there a similar example that we can see? No

What is the link to your site? hidden link

Hi there,

Thanks for contacting WPML support. To clarify, are you moving your Website from uprdev.com to uprtek.com? Is uprdev.com your development site?

Also, did you select the option "I have moved the site to this new URL" when the WPML banner shows up initially?

Hi Kor, uprtek.com is the production site, uprdev.com is the development site.

We used "duplicator" to move uprtek.com to uprdev.com. And we started seeing this msg for the first time on uprdev.com. In our previous ticket, Subash helped us get rid of that msg by going into the SQL tables and deleting some entries (please see our previous ticket). I thought it fixed the problem. But then we saw the same msg on uprtek.com.

I answered the question " indicate that this site should be at hidden link." on uprtek.com - and then the msg shows up on uprdev.com. Like I said, if you fix it on one, it shows up on the other.

Thank you for your response.

I now comprehend your explanation. This behavior is expected if you've chosen the option "No, I changed the address of the site to this new one." as detailed in the documentation here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/using-advanced-translation-editor-when-you-move-or-use-a-copy-of-your-site/

In this scenario, you have the choice to utilize the Translation Management on either side, but not both. However, the translation memory and credits will be shared.

Should you desire separate translation management on both sides, you will have to duplicate the site again onto a new staging site, such as hidden link, to trigger the banner once again. Subsequently, you can opt for the "Yes, This is only a copy - the original site is still running." alternative.

I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

We don't see the msg - "Yes this is only a copy ..." We see a msg that says "This site has moved to a new location" and we press "indicate that this site should be at hidden link". (see attached wpml1.jpg)

Then we get the second page (see attached wpml2.jpg)

Thanks for your reply.

As mentioned, you will have to duplicate the site again onto a new staging site with a new URL, such as hidden link, to trigger the banner once again. Could you try using a subdomain for your new staging site? If you reuse this hidden link , it will not let you choose a new option.

Could you give it another try?

OK, I will try again.

OK Kor, I was able to see the msg you mentioned when I did it on a clean subdomain site (only WP).

But what about hidden link Do I now take a copy from the sudomain and load it to hidden link

Or can I clean out hidden link with a fresh WP and download again?

Thanks for your reply.

I can see this in our activation system and this dev site hidden link is showing as "copied". Could you try cloning the site from the subdomain to hidden link and let me know how it goes?

Hi Kor, I duplicated the subdomain samnada.uprdev.com over to uprdev.com, and I received the msg "Yes, This is only a copy - the original site is still running." - so that worked.

So now my question is - every time we duplicate from uprtek.com, we have to first download to a subdomain, and then upload to uprdev.com?

Or can we directly download to uprdev.com now?

Thanks for your reply.

No need to download to a subdomain already. You can just clone it to uprdev.com without issues now.
