Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.

Can you please let me know how you translate the page from Elementor? Does that mean you switch to English with the language switcher at the topbar and manually change the link?

If you are using the WPML Translation Editor, and still manually change the link on the translation page, it will be overridden when you translate the page with WPML Translation Editor next time. If you want to translate a page manually, please use the WordPress Editor, follow the documentation https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

If it's not the case, please let me know where I can see the issue on your staging/live site and some screenshots of this.

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

Hi,

I am sorry but i can give you access only on dev website(you can take it grom previous topic, or I can provide it here)

For translation, we use an advanced translator, click from the list of pages or from the edit page

Dutch is the main language and we only work with Elementor in Dutch. Then, we go to the backend to translate to EN/DE/FR via WPML.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.

Since I haven't had a chance to check the issue on your live site so I will test this on the dev site.

I've translated all content (including URLs) completely on the page "Consumenten" (hidden link). Then made a small change on this page
by adding a dot to the page title, saving changes and updating the translation. And I do not see the translation URLs are gone. Please check this screenshot hidden link

I suggest you can try to follow steps below and see if it helps:
- Complete all translations before making any changes to the page in the original (Dutch) language.
- Save the page after making the change.
- Close all ATE browser tabs and only open it after you make the change and want to update the translation.

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.

Checking the product page on the dev site hidden link

I see the URL is changed from
hidden link
to
hidden link

So if you want to translate the URL, please search for the keyword "http" and translate it. Please check this screenshot hidden link

Refer to the documentation https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-translate-urls-shortcodes-and-html-attributes-using-the-advanced-translation-editor/

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

Hi,

Our programmer has been chatting with you, and me providing some information in the background. Please don't write this off as us doing this wrong; all you are doing, and I say this with respect, but it is as if there is nothing wrong. There IS something wrong! 🙁 Of course we use the keyword http, as always.

I just now did it on live site with this product: hidden link.

Before doing all this, this job is stuck in the tasklist (screenshot 2023-05-24_11-59-15.png).

The programmer, Viktor, had copied the website to DEV site where you are checking thinks, so they should be the same. You see here (2023-05-24_11-49-49.png), the URL where the mouse cursor is, is still in Dutch, even though it is the French translation:

In WPML product translation, I added the files, see screenshot (2023-05-24_11-50-56.png).

Then in the next screen once the new page loads, I see this (screenshot 2023-05-24_11-52-24.png). The arrows NEVER become a pencil indicating it is done.

On live site, it is also not changed (screenshot 2023-05-24_12-03-05.png).

Another example, for which I will not list all with screenshots, is this one: hidden link. The links are translated, but the tab with the http links translated files (2 pdf files), are NOT visible.

Investigate what is happening, because we have tried just about everything, including trying to cancel the job in the tasklist and trying to translate it again. Some jobs that are stuck CANNOT be canceled!?!

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.

I understand the issue with the translation URL is not displayed on the front end of your live site. I've asked for the credentials of the live site in another ticket (https://wpml.org/forums/topic/problem-with-jobs-in-advanced-translation/) because the issue is separated, we can handle one issue per ticket only, but I still do not receive the credentials.

Back to your dev site, I can translate the product "James Vezelbeschermer Eco" from Dutch to French completely and update the translation URL also. Please check this hidden link

At the first time, I see the job is stuck and there is an error log in WPML > Support > Advanced Translation Editor.

Cannot access offset of type string on string /www/jamesz_144/public/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-multilingual/compatibility/YikesCustomProductTabs/class-wcml-yikes-custom-product-tabs.php:231

Checking the file wp-config.php, I see there is a code

define( 'WPML_TRANSLATION_AUTO_UPDATE_ENABLED', false );

Then I temporarily deactivated Yikes plugin and comment out the code and the translation is completed as well.

I hope that gives you some insight to fix the issue on your live site. If it does not help, please share your site credentials in the other ticket (https://wpml.org/forums/topic/problem-with-jobs-in-advanced-translation/), I will help you to check the issue.

I also help you to split this ticket into a new one for the new issue with some tabs not displayed on the translation product page for better handling: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-split-problem-with-jobs-in-advanced-translation/

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

Hi,

Hope you are well!

Just experienced the same old story again, that URL's we entered in the past just vanish when we edit A REGULAR PIECE OF TEXT on the website. I will explain for the live site, so you can do it on DEV and check if the same happens there as well. 🙂

This FAQ item: hidden link. There was a grammatical error, we corrected it in Dutch language in the backend under "FAQ": "Dit is meestal eenvoudig schoon te maken met James Interieurreiniger! Wel dient dit meermaals HERHAALT te worden over tijd, om telkens weer enige vervuiling weg te nemen.". The word in capitals is wrongly spelled, it should be "herhaald". So, I changed the t into a d, see screenshot 2023-06-12_09-48-58.png.

Then of course, we must update the other languages. So, I first clicked on English language to edit it, but for this example, I will click on French since I already did English and only then saw again the annoying WPML bug. See screenshots 2023-06-12_09-55-03.png (when clicking editing French), 2023-06-12_10-39-39.png (checking BEFORE clicking on the edit button that the URLs are active and present on live site), 2023-06-12_10-41-05.png (where all URLs are EMPTY!!).

How is this possible?! This has nothing to do with tabs in this case and the invisibility of it.

Thanks.

Hi,

But on your dev site, the URL is pointing to your live site so the translation of the URL is not available there. Please check this screenshot hidden link

Please translate the URLs on your live site and observe this issue again for that FAQ post. If this happens again, please share your live site credentials (wp-admin and FTP), I will take a closer look.
❌ IMPORTANT: Please backup your database and website before proceeding ❌

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks
