Okay. I have selected NO on the LIVE site.

Regarding credits: why do we want to translate on two sites if the DEV site translations are being pushed to the LIVE site? It does no make any sense. :/

There isn't an option for WPML to directly manage translations stored in the WordPress database. However, you can use the automatic translation feature, which will leverage the shared translation memory. For more details on sending content for automatic translation, please refer to this guide:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/#sending-content-for-automatic-translation

If you need to connect multiple sites for automatic translation, you can follow the steps outlined here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-subscription-for-multiple-sites/

Additionally, if your domain resolves to multiple IP addresses please review the following guide:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/using-advanced-translation-editor-when-you-move-or-use-a-copy-of-your-site/#using-wpml-on-two-domains

It seems I was not clear on explaining what we need:

We have a DEV site: we work on the DEV site ONLY.
We have a LIVE site: we DO NOT work on the LIVE site.

We push changes from DEV to LIVE.

---> Credits are assigned to LIVE: how do we assign them to DEV?
---> I now get a message saying:

This site has moved to a new location. You or someone else moved this site to hidden link. Please keep in mind that: Translations that you do at hidden link will not appear on this site. You cannot edit translations on this site. The site at hidden link is using the same credits for automatic translation as this site. If you didn't intend to move this site to hidden link, you can indicate that this site should be at hidden link.

If we translate on LIVE and we push from DEV everything will get overwritten. :/

You share credits from live site to dev like this:
https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-subscription-for-multiple-sites/

I solved this message through "Force-enable WPML’s Advanced Translation Editor" troubleshooting option.

"If we translate on LIVE and we push from DEV everything will get overwritten. :/"

Yes, this will not work as this will overwrite your whole database. It would happen for any type of the content on the site, translations exist in database just as any other content.

That's why going through translation management (recreating translation jobs) would work.
