Vincenzo from your customer service just solved a problem with a subscription I bought in error but did not need for myself (user: janL-17; support thread: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/i-think-i-have-lifetime-subscription/). I already received the refund, but since my order was cancelled and I no longer have an active WPML subscription, I can not reply to the support thread any longer. Could you forward this information to him?
I am grateful for the fast and efficient customer service by Vincenzo to clear up this case, and for the immediate refund for the unused subscription. This case can be closed.
In that support thread, I see that you have another account under the name of Sam. Please login with that account and you can create the support threads that you need. Please note that accounts are personal. If you received a website from another developer, you cannot use his account. Developers can install WPML on multiple websites, but the account itself is personal.
that exactly is my problem! As I described, I can no longer log into the support thread since my own subscription was cancelled. For the current lifetime subscription by Sam, the website developer, I do not have the password, since – as you say – that account is personal. I wanted to close the support thread and give thanks to Vincenzo, who resolved the problem. My problem is solved to my satisfaction, for courtesy I still wanted to give feedback to confirm this to the WPML team and not just disappear without a word. But unfortunately, that seems to be impossible, that is why I asked to forward that information to Vincenzo from customer support. Best regards, Jan
I am planning to start a multi-language shop for different translated t-shirt products.
My Woocommerce product Category:
Category English
–Sub-Cat Theme A
–Sub-Cat Theme B
Category French
–Sub-Cat Theme C
–Sub-Cat Theme D
Category German
–Sub-Cat Theme E
–Sub-Cat Theme F
1. Is it possible to achieve below requirement? If yes, please give me some guide before my purchase.
I want to create different homepage and different menu (with different menu items) for each languages.
For example: http://www.abc.com will give English homepage with different English menu items compared others languages http://www.abc.com/fr/ will give French homepage with different French menu items compared others languages http://www.abc.com/de/ will give German homepage with different German menu items compared others languages
2. Noted that I won’t translate the products to different language, I will create another product with different category in case of translated items.
For example, for browsing a English product, when user change the site language to French, is it possible to keep showing that English product (with English image, English description defined in the product page) with only French menu, footer, checkout and other non-product text?
3. Is the product compatible with template Flatsome?
4. Could the currency change automatically based on user’s IP countries?
5. I am going to try this plugin soon, may I know any impact if I deactivate/uninstall the plugin later? Just want to ensure the current environment can be kept when fallback.
Hi Anson,
1. Yes, create different templates for each language
2. yes, you can a duplicate product to other languages
3. we didn’t test it but the theme’s authors say it is http://themeforest.net/item/flatsome-responsive-woocommerce-theme/5484319
4. not yet, but we have it in our plans
5. yes, it’s safe to uninstall/deactivate the plugin
For Q2, if I don’t want to duplicate product to other language(as want to keep SKU and other stat info), is it possible or another other suggestion? Thanks.

Yes, this is possible. When you create a product in another language you have two options:
1. copy content from the primary language
2. overwrite
the second options will synchronize this translation with the original language. When you edit the original, this translation will update immediately. It’s meant when you want the content in this language to always be the same as the content in the original language

Hi, i purchased the cms version a year ago. After asking which in needed, you guys told me I needed the cms… but I never used those features at all… It seems I only needed the blog one for my very simple website for my hotel.
Now i want to renew, but I was wondering if you could maybe give me the blog version… maybe even a year for free since I never used the advanced features in cms at all…?
Please let me know what you think, I not feel I spend $79 instead of 30, for no reason at all…
Or can you get me a discount on the lifetime one for blog???
Hello, I’m sorry but we don’t provide an option to downgrade from the CMS to Blog subscription. If your current subscription didn’t expire you can renew it for $15.
There is NO OPTION to pay $15. only the $39 per year one.
I have 1 day left…….
You guys told me yourself that I needed the CMS: I DON”T NEED IT. I explained everything and you advices me INCORRECTLY: Just like you are doing now, there is NO OPTION TO PAY $15….
Please help me get the (lifetime) BLOG version………!! At least from now on, if you don’t want to admit your mistake in your advice for which version I should use and compensate me somewhat retroactively, at LEAST let me continue as BLOG from now on…………….
Hello, i have a question, is this plugin include translate files, I mean could I translate all my pages for different language by this plugin, or maybe this is only a tool and I have to translate my texts by myself and translated sentences send to this plugin?
Hi Krzysztof,
WPML doesn’t translate your content automatically. You need to translate your pages/posts etc yourself or you can send them to one of professional translation services that are integrated with WPML.
We acquired this plug -in
The buyer can not be found
We do not have username (email)
contact is not working here
How can we pay to update the plugin?
Thanks.
Hello,
you mean that the WPML subscription was bought by somebody else? If so, there isn’t much I can do for you. The person who bought the WPML is the subscription owner. If you want to update the plugin, you need an active subscription. If you don’t have one, the only option is to buy it.
I am trying to purchase your plugin by the “2Checkout” isn’t processing. I enter my payment information (paypal) and it looks like it is processing but I get bounced back to the “2Checkout” Payment Method page.
and provide more details about your order (you full name, the email you tried to buy WPML with, etc). We will check in our system the status of your order.
Hi.
Watching the demo video, I’ve the following question :
My WordPress Theme was made by a US developer (hence all menus in English and some “en_US.mo” and “en_US.po” files).
BUT, I write all my Pages (and site content) in French.
So my guess is that I should declare to the software at the beginning that my WordPress Web Site uses French (target being to translate pages in English).
Wouldn’t it be an issue when it comes to translate also the “Menus” ? (because no FR.mo or FR.po file is created ? )
Not sure to be clear, but to sum up I create content in French from an English Theme
and need to translate content in English and Theme itself in French
Hi Raphael,
I’m not sure: do you want to have your site in two languages or only in one (French). If in two languages:
– you can select both French to be your first (primary) language or English (noth options possible)
– you will be able to translate all your WordPress elements, including menus and strings coming from .po files.
If your site is going to be one language only, you don’t need WPML at all. All you need is to translate the strings coming from your theme. You can do this with special editors such as poedit or with a plugin (you will need to google something relevant).
I want to have my website in both languages
French and English
By default I build the pages in French
I need to translate them afterwards in English
My WordPress Theme though was made in English (templates and widgets using English )
=> there I need to translate from English to French for French pages
Hello,
Is there a way to test WPML on a site without purchase? I don’t want to buy plugin without confirming compatibility with my theme – it does kind of odd things on polylang.
Hello,
we don’t have a free demo version but you can buy and test WPML for 30 days. During that time you can contact our support help with questions. If it turns out that you are not satisfy, use this form and we will refund your order: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
Hi,
We are planning to renew our Multilingual CMS Plugin service, before we place the order we need to clarify the following questions,
1.do we need to buy this Plugin service again every time when we change the website theme or the hosting company?
2. Does this Multilingual CMS Plugin package also include the Translation Plugin service and Synchronization function in Menu under Appearance?
3. Our website shut down for a week last week because the Translation Plugin occurred huge queries, why did the Translation Plugin occur queries? Will it happen again after we purchase the Multilingual CMS Plug for life?
Hi, nice to hear you plan to renew your subscription.
1. No, need. You can use one subscription for all your sites, including different domains and sites for different customers.
2. Yes, it does.
3. It shouldn’t have happened. If this problem persists, please create a thread in our support forum. We will investigate this issue.
do you have a site i can look at that has your plugin installed or a demo page which i can test to see in action?
the website i want to install it on offers services and products to a few country’s language used would need to be english maltese italian arabic spanish does your plugin cover translations all of these?
if a person visit from italy would it automatically show in Italian or would they have to click anything
WPML supports English, Maltese, Italian, Arabic and Spanish but doesn’t translate your content automatically. You insert the translations yourself or you can send your posts/page to one of the translation services that are integrated with WPML: https://wpml.org/documentation/content-translation/

Hi,
my college Mercedes told me that you said:
“All I really want is the lifetime blog version”
The thing is that we don’t have Lifetime subscriptions for the Blog version. If you don’t want to be charged every year, you can upgrade to the “Multilingual CMS Lifetime” subscription and pay the difference only, which is $116.
To do so, please log into your WPML and you will find a link there.
Does this solve your problem?
I want to develop a wp theme and sell it on envato we are still working on it and I want also to WPML add with Extended license to it.
We want to integrate right into my theme my question is if I can purchase the plugin before putting my theme on envato or I must get my theme accepted first ?
Hi Laura,
you can make your theme WPML compatible and get our “WPML Compatible” certificate so it will help you to increase your theme sales but your users will have to buy the WPML anyway. As the theme author you can get WPML for free. Please contact our Compatibility Team for more details: https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/
I have just taken over this site (http://collagenliftparis.eu/) and pointed it to my hosting but now getting the following error:
Your WPML settings seem to be corrupted. To avoid corrupting your existing data, we have hidden WPML from this site.
If this is the first time you install WPML on this site, you may have faced a database or script connection drop, that caused settings to be not completely store. In this case, you can click on the Reset Settings button: this will reset WPML settings and any language translation information, allowing you to restart the wizard.
If you have just upgraded WPML or after starting over you keep getting this message, please contact the support forum as soon as possible, in order to provide you with a fix to this issue.
Thank you for the reply. I do not have an account and the plugin was purchased and used before I took over the account. To register a ticket I will need an account which quite honestly seems like I will be paying for something that was already purchased.
If the site using WPML was registered (see details here https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/) you should be able to update the WPM plugin form your WordPress dashboard. Please try that. If it wasn’t, there is no other way to have this problem resolved without an active account. Most probably you will need the recent WPML version anyway.
Please note that if you buy a WPML subscription, you will be able to use WPML for all your customers.
I noticed that my question disappeared after the moderation stage. So lets try and reverse it to fir the forum.
Is there a way to take a existing WPML installation that was transferred to both new web developer and host and get the existing site key back to re-activate the plugin? Or should I purchase a new subscription?
Hi again,
your previous question was waiting for moderation. I have just replied. Please ask the previous owner to register the WPML to receive automatic updates. But only the subscription’s owner can access the WPML support forum for help. If you need our supporters’ help, please purchase a new subscription. That’s the only way.
Hi,
How much is the professional translation you offer?
I have a client who has a website where he sells baseball bats.
He want a English site. To make him an estimated translation costs, I need to have the cost of your professional translation service (for example, price per hour)
We’re developing a storefront for a client using woocommerce and want to know how difficult it could be to make the theme we have compatible with WPML before committing to it. I am aware from reading the threads above that you don’t have a trial version, but how does the refund policy work, in case it turns out that the product isn’t viable for our specific needs? Please let us know. Thank you.
It is safe to choose a theme coming from that list.
You can test WPML for 30 days. If it turns out that it doesn’t satisfy your needs, please use this contact form and we will return your money: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
I want to purchase WPML plugin to turn my website multilingual. I have 2 questions:
1. I used to use Polylang, it is nice, but in some cases it don’t work perfectly. Will I be possible to not loss the data created with Polylang?
2. I am not sure which package to buy. Can I purchase the smallest one and then if needed update it to the multilingual CMS, but paying a difference?
Hi there,
Can I use the plugin on more the one website?
Many thanks,
Yes, you can. You need to buy only one WPML subscription and you can use it for all the sites you build (for you or/and for your customers).
Dear WPML team,

Hi, i purchased the cms version a year ago. After asking which in needed, you guys told me I needed the cms… but I never used those features at all… It seems I only needed the blog one for my very simple website for my hotel.
Now i want to renew, but I was wondering if you could maybe give me the blog version… maybe even a year for free since I never used the advanced features in cms at all…?
Please let me know what you think, I not feel I spend $79 instead of 30, for no reason at all…
Or can you get me a discount on the lifetime one for blog???
Thanks!

Hello, I’m sorry but we don’t provide an option to downgrade from the CMS to Blog subscription. If your current subscription didn’t expire you can renew it for $15.

That is NOT TRUE.
THanks for your consideration
Hello,
let me contact our admins again to check what can we do about your case. I will keep you posted.
Hi Gijskk,
sorry for my late reply.
We can fix this for you this way:
1. You will ask for a refund
2. We will refund your order.
3. You will buy the Blog version
Is this ok?
If so, please use this form:
https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/
to contact us. I will notify the people answering the form that they can expect such a request from you.
Hi again,
it turns out that the refunds are technically possible only for 30 days after purchasing WPML.
We are still debating what we can do in your case. I will keep you posted.
Hi,
my college Mercedes told me that you said:
“All I really want is the lifetime blog version”
The thing is that we don’t have Lifetime subscriptions for the Blog version. If you don’t want to be charged every year, you can upgrade to the “Multilingual CMS Lifetime” subscription and pay the difference only, which is $116.
To do so, please log into your WPML and you will find a link there.
Does this solve your problem?
Hello,
I want to develop a wp theme and sell it on envato we are still working on it and I want also to WPML add with Extended license to it.
Please contact our Compatibility Team for more details:
https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/
Hi there,
Can I use the plugin on two different servers with Multilingüe CMS Lifetime version?
Many thanks,
Yes, you can. You buy one WPML subscription and you can use it for all the sites you build with it.
I work on a new site WooCommerce.
I want one WooCommerce, with a single administration.
And I have two domain names, a .com for my site in English, and .fr for my site in French. These domain names are two different shared hosting.
wpml can he manage both languages with two domain names on two different shared hosting?
This works if the domain names are httpS (ssl certificate)?
Thank you for your help, cordially.
Hi, yes, WPML can handle this but additional setup is also required on your side:
https://wpml.org/faq/server-setting-for-languages-in-different-domains/
you can use https.
Please help urgently
Please register a ticket in our support forum:
https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/
Our technical experts will investigate this issue for you.
Thank you for the reply. I do not have an account and the plugin was purchased and used before I took over the account. To register a ticket I will need an account which quite honestly seems like I will be paying for something that was already purchased.
Kindly advise if there is an alternative way to have the issue resolved or another way to get in contact with your technical experts.
I look forward to your reply.
I look forward to your reply.
Hi again,
your previous question was waiting for moderation.
Thanks.
Hi Myriam,
each of the services we cooperate has its own pricing. Please select one or two from that list:
https://wpml.org/documentation/content-translation/
and contact them for more details.
For example, the ICanLocalize service has a live chat:
http://www.icanlocalize.com/site/
so you should get the reply very quickly.
Thank you.
Hi Sasha,
here’s the list of all themes tested for WPML compatibly by our Compatibility Team:
https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/
It is safe to choose a theme coming from that list.
You can test WPML for 30 days. If it turns out that it doesn’t satisfy your needs, please use this contact form and we will return your money:

Hi,
I want to purchase WPML plugin to turn my website multilingual.
Thank you for your interest in WPML.
1. I’m afraid not. Please see the answers from our supporters:
https://wpml.org/es/forums/topic/polylang-to-wpml/
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/import-sitecontent-from-polylang/
2. Yes, you can start with the smallest one and then upgrade by paying the difference only.
Ok thank you! I guess I’ll start with the smallets.
I’ve actually have not content just the pages created, would I be able to assign them to the correct language?
