  1. Why do you charge for account renewal? Isn’t the purchase for one-time license purchase? Your pricing plans include free updates for 1 year. Another question is what the update is for?

    • Hello,
      >Why do you charge for account renewal?
Because we are continuously improving our plugins and we provide support help.

      >Isn’t the purchase for one-time license purchase?
You can use the plugins that you’ve installed/downloaded forever but you need to have an active account (renew it) if you would like to have ongoing access to updates and our support assistance.

      >Another question is what the update is for?
If we add new features or fix some bugs you can benefit from them. Also, if you upgrade your WordPress to the most recent version, we make sure that our new versions are also compatible with the latest WordPress.

    • I’m sorry there is no trial. But our refund policy allows you to test WPML for 30 days without any risk. Moreover, you will be able to ask for our assitance in the support forum during that probation period.

  2. We are building a Magento2 website which will be multi-lingual. The client wants us to use WordPress to power a multi-lingual blog.
To make the blog interoperate with Magento 2 we will be using the fishpig plugin (which we have used before)

Will WPML be compatible with fishpig?

    • Hello Phillip,

we’ve never checked the fishpig plugin so you can consider this one not compatible. WPML can be used successfully to run a WordPress-based blog in other languages but we don’t have any experience with Magento2 websites.

  3. Hello,

We included a wrong email address and we paid for the subscription WPML Multiligual.

How can we proceed ? Can you change the mail for the one on this ticket ? We added wrongly a signal of – between UNI and Presse.

    It’s urgent.

    Thank you in advance

  4. Hello I am not able to buy WPML with the PayPal credit that I have on my account this is very annoying as I don’t have a credit card.

      • Hi Mercedes, the problem was that you HAVE to enter a valid credit card and only then you are able to switch payment methods and choose to pay with your PayPal balance. Very unfortunate for people who don’t have a credit card. Managed to buy WPML in the end so thanks for your help.

  5. I want to create a multilingual website which will automatically change to the language of the visitor’s browser. Is that possible? If yes, then do I need to purchase a website with a specific company in order to be able to buy this function from you? I am very confused about how this works – I am a total beginner and I am not sure what is the difference between a website company and you. Any help with this will be appreciated 🙂

      • Hi Mercedes,

I am still confused. I don’t even have a website yet. So, I am wondering what the next step is. Do I need to create a website with a specific company in order to be compatible with your services?
As I said in my previous message, I am a total beginner.

        • Hello Margarita,
WPML is a WordPress plugin. It means, that if you already have your WordPress-based site up and running, all you need to do it to download the WPML plugin (after the purchase) and in your WordPress site go to Plugins -> Add new and upload it. Then configure.

As Mercedes replied, yes, WPML has a feature that can redirect the user automatically to his/her language version based on the settings in their browser but please note that the recommended way to make you multilingual website perform well in terms of SEO is to provide human-made translations. Most of the traffic comes from search engines (Google) and the search engines will provide the user the page in his/her language already (no need for redirections).

  6. Hi There,

Just to confirm, so if I buy the WPML Multilingual Agency, I will have support for only one year. After that, if I still want the support, I had to pay USD 119 for more one year. Is this correct?

But also, this USD 119 is only for support, will I still be able to update the plugin to all new version?

    Thanks.

    • Hello Fernando,

so if I buy the WPML Multilingual Agency, I will have support for only one year. After that, if I still want the support, I had to pay USD 119 for more one year. Is this correct?

      That’s correct.

this USD 119 is only for support, will I still be able to update the plugin to all new version?

Both for our support assistance and for the plugin updates. By “plugin updates”, I mean access to new versions. You will see an “update” link directly in your site and with an active WPML subscription, all you need to do is to click that link and the plugin will update automatically.

      I hope it helps.

    • Hello,
we don’t have lifetime licenses anymore. You pay for one year and then, even if you cancel your subscription, you can still use the plugins that you have installed/downloaded but you will lose access to new versions and our support help.

  7. Hello, I bought a couple of years ago a “Multilingual CMS for life” update from simple CMS. It’s not for sale anymore, but I still retain the possibility to install on unlimited websites with lifetime updates and support, is that correct?

    • Hello Daniele,
I have checked in our system and confirm you have a lifetime subscription with us. This allows to register unlimited sites and gives you access to updates and support for life.

      Kind regards,

    • Hello,
the Fieldmanager plugin is not compatible with WPML. But I’m a little confused with the first part of your comment. You say: “Thanks for confirming that you are compatible with WordPress VIP.” In my last reply I asked you to check this out with the the WP VIP. Did they tell you can use WPML on their platform?

  8. Does it have to be a machine translation? Is there the option to have manual translation entered on the website even when there is this plug in

    • Hello Michelle,
how WPML works is the other way around: by default, you enter your translations manually but optionally you can use machine translations as well.

  9. I renew my account for 1 Year more and i pay with credit card. But after payment i got Bill over 1.19 US$ and not 70.21 US$. Credit card was charged accordingly only. What was this amount intended for (bug in the billing system)? How can I renew my subscription now? See also Invoice Number: 3146641

Now i ned a bill over 69.02 US$ and a Way how i pay this.

    Thanks for your Help

    Best regards Paul Pütz

    • Hello Paul,
I see you have set up the automatic renewal. The charge of 1.19$ is a one-time fee from the payment processor. You will be charged for the renewal fee on Feb 8th.
Let me know of any further question.

      Kind regards,

  10. it is possible to see different languages from ip?
for example in France to see the France version….??
also how about seo with the different languages…
    can we have different seo.
    thanks a lot

    • Hello,
we don’t have a feature that redirects according to the IP (but we have one that can detect the language set in the user browser).
In terms of SEO, WPML works well with the most popular SEO plugins.

    • Hello John,
I’m not sure I follow. What specific text do you have in mind? When you install WPML it will ask you how you’d like to organize your languages: as subdomains or subfolders. Then WPML will create the names for those according to the languages you’ve chosen. These are some standard names for languages. Please have a look at the language switcher on this very site. We use WPML too and we have our content for different languages displayed in subfolders. But maybe I misunderstood your question…

  11. Hello,

I want to create a network of websites. Each page will contain 300 categories. Will I be able to duplicate these categories for B, C, D domains, etc., after having been translated into all languages? Do I have to translate each separate domain anew?

    • Hello Jeremi,
Yes, you need to translate each separate domain anew. You don’t say much how you are going to set up the network, whether it’s gonna be a WordPress multisite or something else and how’s your structure gonna look like. If you plan to use WordPress Multisite (network) mode and you want to provide each of your subsites in a few languages, yes, WPML will help. I’m not sure if you mean WordPress categories when you say “Each page will contain 300 categories”. WPML can help you translate categories as well.

  12. Hello,

  13. Hello!

Can you explain please, if I don’t want to use translation management and wpml media plugins, can I do manual image replacements with WPML Core?

    • Yes, sure. If you’re not using our Translation Management, you don’t need much our Media Translation plugin. You can translate everything using the WordPress built-in editor, including uploading different images for content in different languages.

  14. Hi,

I want to purchase WPML. However, I get the notification that I already have an account. As to my knowledge I don’t have one and therefor would like to create a NEW account.

    Could you please help me.
    Thank you,
    Heidi

    • Perhaps you started to buy yesterday and stopped in the middle, so our system already created an account for you, without any orders. I found such an account and changed its email. Now you can buy WPML and you should not receive that message.

  15. Hello
Can I upgrade from Multilingual CMS to Multilingual Agency without paying the whole price of Multilingual Agency?

  16. Hi,
I am planning to create a multilingual site for my company. It is not an ecommerce site. It will have multiple users from various parts of my org doing the translations for various languages.
Is this supported by the blog plan?

    Regards
    -G

    • The Multilingual Blog account doesn’t contain our Translation Management module. That module allows you to set-up various translator users and choose what each can do. You can still ask different people to translate your site without this feature, but it means that all this management of who translates what has to be done manually by you. If any case, if you decide to buy the Blog account now and later you see that you need the full package, you can upgrade and only pay the difference.
