  1. Hi there,
I’m considering buying WPML Multilingual Blog. I see there’s full compatibility with the Avada theme and its Fusion Builder. I’m just wondering: does this compatibility apply to WPML Multilingual Blog or do I need to go for the Multilingual CMS?
    Thank you, Azzurra

  2. Hello,

I will replace my current plugin translations plugin Multilanguage by BestWebSoft with your plugin WPML Multilingual CMS for 79 usd for 1 year.

Will I get any assistance setting up the plugin on my theme so that the language switcher looks good on my site etc? And also that it works with yoast?

Or do i need to hire a WP developer for this?

  3. Hello
I am looking at your plugin and have a couple of questions:

    1. I am a novice, so realistically how hard is this to install and get working?
    2. Do the languages change automatically if in another country. For instance, I am in California and my site would be in English. But if someone visited my site in Mexico, would my site automatically load in Mexican Spanish?
    3. Does it translate everything? And by that I mean URL and permalink structure, page/post/category/alt image tags/etc titles, and of course the content of the page or post?
    3. I see on the $79 plan there is a 2000 word limit on auto-translate. Is that 2000 words total for the site or per post? What happens when I have more than 2000 words? How accurate is your auto translate?
    4. I assume I am able to put a Flag or EN/FR/etc in the nav bar or top of page to allow users the ability to change the language?

    Please advise.

    Thanks
    Brett

    • Hello Brett,
      1. It’s easy. Once you activate WPML, the WPML’s wizard will guide the through the setup process. It becomes more complicated when you have many custom content on your site, such as custom fields, many 3rd party plugins and you want to translate every single element coming from those. But when it comes to making basic stuff multilingual (posts, pages, menu, etc) it’s easy.
      2. Yes, we have that option in WPML settings but it’s disabled by default. In practice, it’s not needed because most of your traffic will come organically from Google (search engines) and users will land on pages in their languages.
      3. WPML helps you to make all the elements you listed multilingual but it doesn’t translate it automatically. You need to provide translations. If you are interested in using machine translations, we also have an option for that but those machine translations need to be applied by you in our ATE editor, please watch this video to understand how it works: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/
      3. In that case you need to buy extra credits – please see the pricing here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/ or provide your translations.
      4. yes, that’s correct.

  4. Hi there,
I’m considering buying WPML Multilingual Blog. I see there’s full compatibility with the Avada theme and its Fusion Builder. I’m just wondering: does this compatibility apply to WPML Multilingual Blog or do I need to go for the Multilingual CMS?
    Thank you, George

    • Hello George,
I replied to your question yesterday but let me do it once again. In that case, you need the Multilingual CMS package.

  5. Hi, a i have three clients and I want use WPML on their site. One of them have other languages version on three domain so I need to use it on five domain, so is Multilingual CMS fine for me? What if I will have more clients, can I upgrade do Agency Plan?

    Regards

    • Hello,
it’s not clear if you need a multilingual site or you just want to translate your site to German. WPML is for multilingual sites. There is no need to use WPML to have a website available in one langue. The Loco Translate plugin should suffice in that case.

  6. I have been using Multisite Language Switcher, but it appears that it is no longer being updated and is not working with the current WP version.

I have a WordPress multisite setup, with the “master” site in English and the child site in Portuguese. Each site has a different domain, so I am not using domain/EN and domain/PT.

Can I convert my system to use WPML now? Can this be done without having to redo everything?

    • Hello,
we don’t have any special converters for such cases. Let me check with our developers if there is anything that could help you speed up the migration process.

      • I only have about 15 posts on each site, so I am not worried about the time to link up the posts again. I am more concerned about the overall setup: multisite, two separate domains.

        • WPML supports different domains but some extra work is required to be done on your server. The details are explained here: https://wpml.org/tutorials/2016/04/use-wpml-different-domains-per-language/

Turning WP Multisite into a single WP is not an easy step either. There are tuts out there how to do it but, if your site is not that big, maybe the best approach would be to completely remove what you have, install one-instance WordPress and with WPML (naturally your can prepare everything on your staging environment first).

Our supporters can help if needed.

In the meantime, I’ve checked with our devs how you can quickly migrate your posts and found out that using WPML All Import plugin could help.

          • I just took a look at the page you suggested. Unfortunately, I did not understand what A records I would need to set up on the DNS server. Your little table (the image with the caption “list of records”) only shows an A record for the example.com domain, not for the example.de domain. Would I just create two A records, one for each domain, both pointing to the same IP address?

In summary, I would need to:
            1) export one of the two sites from my WP Multisite installation (Portuguese)
            2) import the site into a new WP installation, and install WPML
            3) set up the DNS records and WPML configurations to use 2 domains for the two languages
            4) manually move over the English posts from the original WP multisite installation, since they were on a different subsite.

Is this what you are suggesting? I just want to make sure before I start.

            • Hello, here’s what my colleague, George, the author of the tut, says:

“My tutorial assumes that you are configuring only the second domain – to point to the same IP address, because the first one, already points there.
That is why there is only the secondary domain name shown.

To have everything working properly – both domains should point to the same IP address and depending on the setup (cpanel, shared hosting solution, self-hosted site or something else) you might use either A record (which is known as a host record) or CNAME record (which is known as an alias). Personally I have preferences towards A record as it is more faster (couple of milliseconds due to less resolving time).

The workflow from James seems to be the proper one – he needs to set the domains to point to a single WordPress instance (point the domains to the same IP) and move manually all his posts (or translate automatically with ATE?)

I am not familiar with the plugin: “Multisite Language Switcher” so I cannot say anything there.”

  7. Hi guys,
I have a question about pricing plan. i would like to take Agency plan, so i make
20 web sites a year with it..after year is passed, do i have to keep paying renewals so the translations on those 20 web sites wont disapear?
Or simply, if i stop paying after few years, will translations on late websites disapear?
    Thanx,
    Ska

    • Hi,
No, translations won’t disappear, even if you don’t renew you can still use our plugins and the content of your site translated with our plugins will be there. You just lose access to new versions and our support help.

    • Hello,
If you do not renew your account you will lose access to updates and support but you can keep using the files you have installed on your site.

      Kind regards,

  9. Hello, I want to make a website automatically translate multiple languages. Seeing our limitation is that each article can only translate 2000 English or one article has a total of 2000 languages? Excuse me, which one do I buy?

  10. Good morning,

i come across a bullshit loop that upsets me: I can’t pay by credit card because Paypal requires me to login. But we don’t want to pay with Paypal… If I try to set up a ticket because of this, I can’t because we don’t have a valid license. What nonsense… Other tool manufacturers also manage to grant a 30-day period for it. What is that??

    • Hello, if you want to play with your CreditCard please select Alternative payment processor and then provide your card number. Our refund policy allows you to test WPML for 30 days. Yes, you need to pay in advance but the good side is that during that 30-day probation period you can use our support forum and ask technical questions. I hope it helps.

  11. Hi, I am really interested in your plugin but I have few questions before purchasing the right package for me. I am using WPBakery WordPress Page Builder, which package supports that Page Builder? And if I decided to cancel my account within 1 year from date of activation/purchase, does that mean the Multi Language functionality will not work on my website?

    Thank you

  12. My Website is currently in English. But I want to add 3 additional languages to my site. If I install WPML, will It create language tabs for every language for every post and page in WP which I then manually translate with the WPML interface?

I have an e-commerce store with 500 products. I want the product descriptions for all 4 languages to be in English but all other pages and posts on my site need to be in the local language. possible?

    • Hello,

If I install WPML, will It create language tabs for every language for every post and page in WP which I then manually translate with the WPML interface?

      Yes, you can.

I have an e-commerce store with 500 products. I want the product descriptions for all 4 languages to be in English but all other pages and posts on my site need to be in the local language. possible?

      Yes, that’s possible as well.

    • Hello Stephanie,
no, you cannot. We provide machine translation via the ATE editor which requires the WPML Translation Management plugin to be active. And this plugin is not available only in the Blog package.

  13. Hi –

Congrats on a great plugin and quick responses to questions – nice customer service! I am building my site and really need to get it into Russian asap. I have a static frontpage with lots of elements to be customized. Will WPML translate or allow for translation of all the strings of these? I am a novice and would like to simply create identical page structure of frontpage in english / russian. We are new and am trying to have everything on one frontpage for now. Make sense? Is this how it works? Thanks!

    Jack

    • Hello Jack,
thank you for your interest in WPML. In general, yes but the details will depend on how your page is built. What theme is used, what editor it uses whether or not it uses a page builder and which one, whether you display any strings on your front page coming from 3rd party plugins etc.

      • Hi Agnes,

Thanks. Onepress Plus is my theme and I used the standard WP platform to edit. Seems best thing is to buy your product and just try it out. If it is not effective is their a return policy? Thx

        • We are compatible with the Onepress theme (not sure if that the same?), which was tested by our Compatibility Team, which means that yes, in this case, you should be able to translate every piece of your homepage. WPML is also compatible with the new WordPress editor. Yes, you can test it yourself and use our refund policy in case of issues.

  14. Hi,

I intend to buy WPML for three sites, but the question is if I have two WP official and test installations – is this for two sites considered on your terms …?!?

    BR
    Venty

    • Hello, you can count production and test installation as one but our system won’t let you use the same key for both. You will need to register one, update WPML plugins, then deregister it, generate a new one for the other domain. You can still use WPML plugins for your first domain in that case because registration is required only to receive (and do) automatic updates directly from your WP dashboard.

  15. I have purchased the WPML blog type plugin ($29) but would like to upgrade to multilingual cms type ($79). Is an upgrade possible or i have to pay the total amount without credit?

    • Hello,
yes, such an upgrade is possible and our system will calculate the difference only. Just make sure you are logged into your WPML account.

  16. Hi Agnes,

Thanks a lot. I bought it but I am struggling. Could you please help!!??? I am trying to translate all the content on our frontpage customizer. I cannot find any of these anywhere (((((

    • Hello,
thank you for purchasing WPML. Please log into your WPML account and visit our support forum. We also have a live chat available there. One of our technical supporters will help you.
