  1. We are interested in translating our website to Hebrew. Since Hebrew reads right to left, will this allow for all of the pages’ alignment to also switch and match up in this format? Both reading direction and text alignment will need to be switched.

    • Hello Jaime,
Yes, if your WordPress theme supports the Right to Left (RTL) format, once you activate Hebrew, WPML will display your contents accordingly.
      Regards

  2. Hi Mercedes,

    Thanks for the info.

I’m assuming the WPML version I buy will continue working and I will be able to translate new changes/additions to the original language, even if I don’t renew our subscription once the first year is over. Is that right?

    Awaiting your comments. Thanks!

  3. Hi
I want to buy WPML for translating the site to Chinese automatically. I want to know does it translate the taxi booking form which is integrated in a plugin automatically?
    Thanks

  4. I’m buying this for a client.. but eventually, they will be renewing the subscription themselves. So the question is, can we transfer the ownership after we made the purchase?

Yes, your understanding is correct. You can still use WPML plugins in that case but without updates.

    Thanks, Agnes.
I was told there was a special program/discount for non-profit organizations. What does this mean and what type of documentation do you need to prove my client is a non-profit?

    Awaiting your comments. Thanks!

  6. Sorry,
But there is something I do not understand. I can send you the sceenshots I just made.
I click on the option $79 One year, and then I come to a page that says $99 One year!?
    Please clarify.
    Cheers,

  7. Good Afternoon:

I would be getting WPML for a client who would like to have their site available in both English and Spanish, and I have a few questions.

Is the 90,000 translation credits that comes with the CMS version a one time allotment or does it get “refilled” periodically?

Once the site is initially translated, is the translated content then stored in our local MySQL database?

Are original and translated versions of pages and posts cached when using plugins such as Cache Enabler that use a static page cache?

Can WPML serve translated content automatically by checking a viewer’s browser language?

When translated content is served, is it served directly, or will there be a brief flash of the original language? This is what happens with the Google Language Translator plugin, which apparently translates all content on the fly each time a page or post is served.

I think that’s it for now.

    Thank you!

    Scott

    • Hello Scott,
thank you for your interest in WPML.

      >Is the 90,000 translation credits that comes with the CMS version a one time allotment or does it get “refilled” periodically?
If you renew your WPML subscription after the first year, you will get 60,000 credits again. If you sign up for the so-called “Pay as you go” you can get 2000 credits for free each month. https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/

      >Once the site is initially translated, is the translated content then stored in our local MySQL database?
      Yes, it is.

      >Are original and translated versions of pages and posts cached when using plugins such as Cache Enabler that use a static page cache?
When you translate a page using WPML, a new WordPress post/page is created but in another language. So these are WordPress pages and the same rules apply as to other WordPress pages.

      >Can WPML serve translated content automatically by checking a viewer’s browser language?
You can enable redirection according to the user’s browser language. WPML has this feature but it’s disabled by deafult. It’s enought to make your site multilingual and add the languages switcher. Your site will get organic traffic from Google to pages in the viewer’s language anyway.

      >When translated content is served, is it served directly, or will there be a brief flash of the original language? This is what happens with the Google Language Translator plugin, which apparently translates all content on the fly each time a page or post is served.
As mentioned, WPML creates separate pages with translations.

  8. Hello, I wan’t to make the site multilangual. But i need some rewriterules for the reservation system and in Polylang this doesn’t work. I would like to test your solution and if it works buy the plugin. But first I would like to test on a test site.

    Regards, Bob.

    • Hello Bob,
the only way to test WPML without risking your money is to buy it keeping our refund policy in mind. It allows you to test WPML for 30 days and use our technical support time during that trial period.

  9. I am writing from a nonprofit organization and want to do a purchase and we have a tax exemption form and i saw 50% off for nonprofit organization could someone please help me regarding?

    Thank you,

  10. Hi Agnes:
    .
This post is a follow up to https://wpml.org/purchase/pre-sales-questions/#comment-6004573. The system would not allow me to reply directly to that post of to Agnes’ reply.
    .
Thanks for your reply. Based on that, I do have a couple more questions.
    .
What type of permalink is used for the WPML-created pages/posts? For instance, if the permalink for a page is “…/types-of-braces”, what would the permalink be for the translated page that WPML creates?
    .
If for some reason we tried WPML and decided not to keep it, would the WPML-created pages/posts be removed from the database when the plugin is uninstalled, or would we need to do that manually?
    .
    Thank you!
    .
    Scott

    • DeepL is the best one. And we have some good news. We are going to make it cheaper (starting next week I guess – there is gonna be a blog post about it).

  12. Hello

I want to log in to add a dev domain, but the account is from our old agency and they don’t want to give the login because many clients are under that account.

I do have a license key and the production domain is the one mentioned in the field.

    can someone help me out?

    • Hello Paul,
only the WPML account’s owner can register domains, even the development domains. You can ask them to register the domain for you and send you the key if they don’t want to give your access to their account. Another option is to buy WPML for yourself.

  13. Hello,
We want to set up a multilanguage website. In doing so, we want to work with different domains. So 1 main domain and 6 separate ones (total 7)

example.com (main domain where we work from)
    exmaple.com
    exmaple.fr
    exmaple.it
    exmaple.es
    exmaple.co.uk
    exmaple.de

What package do we need for this? In Multilingual CMS it says 3 production websites, only thing is does this count the aantsal main domains or also the attached domains?

    • In this case (when the domains are meant for separate languages), it counts as only one registration key so the Multilingual CMS package will suffice.

  14. Hi, if I want to make a multilangiage site with different domains instead of subdomains/subfolders. Total 7 different domains (contains 1 main domein). Which package do I need?

  15. Thanks Agnes, but the agency claims that no dev website can be added. We already paid for a license, so I don’t feel we should have to buy again.

If I provide domain name and license key, can we transfer them to a new account?

    • Hello Paul,
      here have the following options:
      1. You can give me the email address that was used when the Agency bought WPML and we will check in our system why they cannot register a development website. If a WPML account (subscription) is active, they should be able to register a new domain as a development website.
      2. I’m not sure what you mean by “transfer them to a new account?” You can give me the domain name and I will check its status in our system but only the WPML account owner can register domains (both as production and development).
Please share me with the following with me: your domain name, the email (or a WPML user) of the person/agency who bought WPML. I will check the status in our system to understand why they cannot register it as a developement domain. Thank you.

    • Hello,
you can use WPML for unlimited time but if you want to have access to updates (new versions) after the first year, you need to renew your WPML subscription after the first year. Actually, it will try to auto-renew itself unless you cancel it manually in the meantime. For the next year, you will pay 75% of the initial price.

  16. hello, i am interested in wpml but i have a few questions, now regarding auto translation into other websites, i have 2 separate websites, one in Arabic http://www.quranation.com (rtl) and one in English http://www.quranomic.com (ltr) , i have no problem translating posts of my known languages myself with google translate (they are non-commercial websites).

my question is what if i would like to translate and expand my websites into other languages i know nothing about it, for example Jewish, french, Italian, Spanish, and i send in my posts to be translated automatically by wpml, how much of assurance do i get that it will be translated the way it should be as the original ? (human and machine error is an always), i mean is there someone proof reading and making sure it makes sense? because i would absolutely be 100 % reliant on wpml to make sense to the readers since i have no knowledge of those languages to be able to review them and check for accuracy.
does my question make any sense?

    • Hello,
thank you for your interest in WPML.
WPML can translate your site using machine translations (you choose from: Microsoft, Google Translate and DeepL – DeepL provides the best quality) and you can always make edits to these translations. Please check this table to see what languages are supported: https://ate.wpml.org/mt_langs
If you don’t know these languages you would need to hire someone to review these machine translations. Here’s the database of translation reviewers: https://wpml.org/translation-reviewer/ who can help. You can see their rate per word.

Currently, there are some limitations with working with reviewers and we are currently improving WPML to be better prepared for working with reviewers:
      – you cannot manually select pages, posts etc that need to be reviewed. So you would need to use the so-called “Translate everything” mode in WPML and it sets all your pages/posts for the review
      – it is not easy calculate the number of words for the pages the reviewer has reviewed so it might be difficult to estimate the cost of the review.

I can see your sites use Divi and WPML works with the Divi page builder/theme. WPML supports RTL too.

The is one thing about yours sites I don’t know: do you want one of these two sites to be a translated version of the other? Or these are two separate (independent) websites? If these are two totally independent websites and you need WPML for each of them, that’s fine. But if you want to “merge” these websites together by using WPML, it will more challenging and I would need to explain your options.

  17. Unable to purchase, since I have issues with PayPal payment processor. Why don’t you offer alternate payment methods.

    • Yes, you can use your credit card. On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.

  18. I don’t see this other button on checkout page – the orange button is there with place order, but there is no button with “use a different payment processor” option. Can you check that once ?

  19. Hi Agnes

Thank you for looking into this. One of these two will be used

    [edited]

The first name will be the account holder.

    Production domain
    [edited]

Dev domain that we want to add
    [edited]

Notice the different domain TLD! Thanks again!

    • Hello Paul,
thank you for the emails and domains. I edited your comment before publishing it to remove the sensitive data.
Your production domain is registered by two WPML users and I think this is causing your problems (it should be registered only once). What’s more interesting none of these users’ emails matches the email you shared with me (as the account holder). I cannot share the full emails with you but one of these addresses belongs to Jesse from “fresh…” agency (nl). And the other to someone from https://royvathorst.nl/

Lessy registered WPML this year, why the other person back in 2021. To solve your problems, please ask the person who has access to WPML account to unregister the site (ask them to do this from their site admin: Plugins > Add new > Commercial tab) and then register it again (this needs to be done on their WPML account under “Register WPML on your sites”). As soon as this is done, they should be able to register the development domain too without any problems.

  20. Hello!
My website translations does not work anymore. I don’t know is it expired or not. In my account there’s message: Your Multilingual CMS account has expired. What is CMS? Sooner was WooCommerce Multilingual. Is this that same plugin? Or it is now: WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency? Why the hech there’s so many WPML plugins? I have 7 your plugins. And where is WooCommece Multilingual?
    Thank you!

    • Hello,
your WPML subscription has expired (November 5, 2021). If you need to use WPML with WooCOmmerce, you need to buy the CMS package. After registering your site again, please go to Plugins > Add new > Commercial tab (on the site that uses WPML) and you will be able to update the plugins from there. You will also see the WooCommece Multilingual plugin on that list. Not all 7 plugins are mandatory. If you want to limit the number of WPML plugins, please open a ticket on our forum (after updating yuor WPML subscription) and one of our supporters will tell you which ones you can remove without any issues.
