We have explained WPML functionality and given it our highest recommendation. Nonetheless he would like to meet you to ask questions. Is there a chance of setting up a meeting?

  6. If I get the WPML CMS account to set up a site for a client and then use the Transfer WPML Renewals to the client will the transferred Renewal still include all of the WPML CMS features (like will they still be able to use the Advanced Translation Editor and the E-Commerce support, etc.)?

    • Hello Jeff,
Yes, exactly. After transferring the renewal link they will get access to exactly the same features as the CMS subscription. Note they will not be able to register any new urls.

  7. Hi,

I have a question about “hide and show” or “conditional visibility”. My site was built with jetengine and elementor.

    1. Is it possible to show a container in English site, but hide this container in Japanese site. if yes, how should I set it up?
    2. For Hyperlink, can i change the links when in different languages sites?

    Thanks

    • Hello

      1. Is it possible to show a container in English site, but hide this container in Japanese site. if yes, how should I set it up?

I understand that you have a page/pages where the content between the original language and the translated language are different.

In this case, we would recommend that you use “Manual” translation for these pages. This allows for independent layouts but still remain linked as translations. Using Automatic Tranlsation assumes that the content between the two layouts is identical.

      More here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

      2. For Hyperlink, can i change the links when in different languages sites?

I am understanding that you would like to have links that point to different sites in each language. In this case, you would translate the links in the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE) or manually to accommodate the different target at the time of translation.

I hope I have understood your questions.

  8. @Yvette

    Thanks for your reply.

    This is a following-up question.

If I use different design for different languages, it works on WordPress Editor only , but not work on elementor, right?

    Thanks

    • Hello

If I use different design for different languages, it works on WordPress Editor only , but not work on elementor, right?

No, it will work on any editor EXCEPT the WPML editors (ATE or CTE). So, to have different layouts using Elementor, you would directly create/translate the target language layouts within the Elementor Editor(s) view. This means you would change your administrative/backend language to access each versino of the editor to edit the appropriate language.

I hope this clarifies the confusion.

  9. Hi,

About “Use Different Designs for Different Languages” , does it work on wordpress editor only , or also work on elementor either?

    Thanks

  10. Hi Mercedes and Yvette,

  11. Hi Yvette,

    Thanks for your reply.

You mean create different templates for different languages, right?

    In my case example:
    Custom Post Type: university
    meta field: intro, fee

there are 3 languages for my site: english, japanese, korean

    questions:
    1. should i create different metafields?
    intro_en, intro_ja,intro_ko

    2. how could I assign each template to post ?
    university_en template to english site,
university_ja template to japanese site ,
    university_ko template to korean site.

or i am doing in a wrong way, could you guide me how to make it happen?

    Thanks a lot

  12. Hi Yvette,

My subscription expired just two days ago, and unfortunately, I no longer have access to support.

If the WPML team is able to assist with my questions, I’d be happy to renew my subscription.

    Thank you!

  13. How does the licensing model work with multisite installs using multiple unique domains?

For example, say we have 1 multisite network with 5 sites, each setup with unique domains (www.site-1.com, http://www.site-2.com, etc.). Each domain would need its own set of translations using nested url paths (www.site-1.com/en, http://www.site-1.com/es, http://www.site-2.com/fr, http://www.site-2.com/de)

Would each individual domain within the multisite count as 1 seat on the license and require the Multilingual Agency tier?

Or would the single network install count as 1 seat on the license and require the Multilingual Blog tier, regardless of the number of unique domains?

    • Hello

In your example, each subsite has it’s own content – correct
      A common setup would be:

      Multisite Network: site1, site2, site3
Each of these sites are independent sites not related to each other.

When WPML is active, you would network instlal and node activate the plugin.
If site1 had languages: en, es, fr
and site2 had languages: en, de

then the URL structure would be:
      http://www.site1.com, http://www.site1.com/es, http://www.site1.com/fr
      http://www.site2.com, http://www.site2.com/de

Each subsite is treated as if it was its own site with an instance of WPML running.

Each individual domain (and their languages) would take one seat on the WPMLCMS subscription. In my example, you would have a subscription with 2 site keys in this case.

Of course there could be other ways of setting it up.

Please read this article carefully to understand what is supported with multisite networks: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/multisite-support/

The important thing is that the only difference between a multisite network and separate hosted sites from our subsciprtion perspective is that the WPML instance is hosted on the same database. Each domain/sub-node on your network still takes one site key.

I hope this answers your quesiton

  14. Has WPML discontinued the renewal discount of 25%? I went today to purchase a CMS license and noticed it says: “The yearly renewals cost €99.00”. I know that previously renewals were €74.00.

  15. Hi Yvette,

Since my account has expired, I no longer have access to the support portal.
Unless I renew first, I’m unable to reach the support team.

There are two ways you could assist me:
    1. Respond to my inquiry through the pre-sale channel, or
    2. Provide temporary access to the support team.

    Thank you

    • Hello

Unless I renew first, I’m unable to reach the support team.
      1. Respond to my inquiry through the pre-sale channel

You are correct in your assessment of the situation. However, I cannot offer support through the PreSales channel. Access to Support is the one of the benefits of maintaining a paid subscription. As I explained before, the kind of questions you are asking are out of the scope of the purpose of Pre-Sales.

      2. Provide temporary access to the support team.

We also do not provide temporary access to the support team as they are assisting paying customers at the moment.

Please consider renewing your subscription to get the support you need. As an alternative, you can find other paid support by contacting a WPML Certified contractor:
      https://wpml.org/contractors/

  16. Hello,

Does your support cover language-related assistance (e.g. translation accuracy, language nuances, or content clarity) in addition to plugin or technical support?

    Thank You

    • Hello

The support forum does not offer language-related translation assistance (unless it is part of of an underlying technical issue). However, we do take all translation quality feedback seriously for our PLC translation engine.

The Support Forum is focused on identifying technical bugs and/or usability issues as well as assisting you in the use of our plugin.

      Kind regards

  17. Hi, Just setting up a multi language ecommerce site for a client. This will be the first time I’ve used a translation plugin. On the landing page their will be images of offers. The images will change but there will be no text change, does WPML re-translate each time an image changes?

How much is extra translation credit?

    Thanks

    • Hello Jane,
Every time you change an image, you will need to refresh your translation in order to make these changes available.
However, depending on how your website is created, it should be done with our WPML Media Translation add-on, and it won’t require translation credits if no text is included.
      I hope it helps.

  18. Good morning,

I was hoping to get ownership of my WPML plugin, it’s currently licensed under M Agency. How can I get started with licensure transfer (without affecting all of my existing translations)?

    Thanks,
    Terry

  19. I’m building a website using the Divi builder. They recommended I use your plug-in to make a multilingual site. Why can’t I see your pricing in US dollars? The language selection dies not have US.

  20. I’m creating one website that I need to translate into two extra languages other than the default. I have someone who can do the translation for me so I don’t need a translation service. The website will have a menu and I will be translating the menu as well. Do I only need the WPML blog version or will I need the WPML CMS version? Thank you in advance.

    • Hello

The translation tools are only one part of the WPML CMS features. If you are using page-builders or have plugin/theme options and/or dynamic texts then you would need to get the CMS subscription.

The website will have a menu and I will be translating the menu as well.

In this case, you would need the String Translation plugin and therefore, the CMS subscription.

  21. I want to translate my website to multible languages, only the thing is that for each website there is a specific TLD and a WordPress installation. Can I do that with WMPL, and if so, is there documentation on how to do it? It seems the plugin is focust on one installation.

  22. Good morning,

I purchased a license, but now need to replace my old agency’s license with mine, without messing up any existing Spanish translated pages.

    How do I do this?

    Sincerely,
    Terry

    • Hello Terry,
In this case, you just need to update the subscription key in the backend of your site. Everything will keep working normally while you do this.
You need to register the site through the new account and use this key to register WPML.

If you need any further help, please contact us on hello@wpml.org directly and we’ll help.
