  1. Hello! I’m working on translating a website from English to 9 languages using WPML. So far, we translated and reviewed the whole webiste in one language and a few pages in other two languages. However, we need to be able to automatically translate all the future changes on some pages and I understand that the only way to do this is to select the Translate Everything Automatically option. My question is: will this overwrite all the content that’s already translated and reviewed? Thank you!

    • Hello

Please open a Support Ticket for this question as they would need to take a closer look at your content and proposed workflow. In Pre-Sales, we don’t have the tools to best help you to provide the best answer

  2. Hi,

I just purchased and installed WPML, all seems well.

However, as we have a large site, im wondering how the word calculation for PTC works.

As we have a large amount of products, many of them with very similar titles sometimes (iphone 11 case, iphone 12 case etc)

Is every word still counted 1 time? Because this is not the case when hiring a translation agency, and the quote im getting for WPML AI Translation is very high compared to if we would use Chatgpt API or similar

    Best Regards

  3. Our stakeholder is based in Oregon west coast USA. Are they any opportunities for call times more friendly to this time zone?

  4. Hello,

My team is planning to implement an automated and controlled translation workflow using WPML. We have some existing Arabic content on our website, but not for all pages.

Our question is: do we need to delete all existing Arabic content to start fresh with the new workflow, or can we keep the existing translated pages and only use the new translation process for new pages that do not yet have an Arabic version?

We understand that we may need to purchase a subscription to enable this functionality on our end, which is not an issue for us.

    Thank you for your assistance.

    • Hello

Do we need to delete all existing Arabic content to start fresh with the new workflow, or can we keep the existing translated pages and only use the new translation process for new pages that do not yet have an Arabic version?

You can link a page that is a translation of another page using the Connect with translations feature.

      Kind regards

  5. hello.
i just want to join to be a client, there are one question ,
    1. if at the next several year i could not continue my membership ,what about my sites that already translated , it will keep translated or become as before none translated?

2.where are can get the discounted price, some information that wpml give the discounted price for new member.

    thank you so much

  6. My current website kesorn.co.th is built in English. I would like to make the following adjustments:
    1. Default language: Thai (so that when users visit kesorn.co.th, the Thai version is displayed).
    2. Multilingual versions:
    • /en for English content
    • /zh for Chinese content
    3. I don’t want to immediately remove the existing English content. Instead, I’d like to copy the current English pages into the /en path as the foundation for the English version.
    4. Later, I will provide the Thai and Chinese translations to be placed in the default site and in /zh, respectively.

Could you please advise what would be the best way to achieve this?

    • Hello

You are able to achieve what you want however, I am going to encourage you to open a Support Ticket to have a supporter assist you in executing the workflow you would want to do.

It is not clear from your message how much of your site is currently in English. If EVERYTHING is in English but you are considering adding additional target langagues then the GENERAL workflow would be:

      – Install WPML with EN as the language of the existing content
      – Choose URL format of “language per directory”
      – At this point, you can begin translating a basic set of pages (e.g. the home page) to Thai and ZH.
      – At any point after this, you can go and change the default langauge of your site to Thai or ZH

However, if you have some of your content in Thai and some of your content in English in your current untranslated site, I would then

      insist

that you contact support before beginning translation/installation so that they can guide you through the exact steps to do.

      Kind regards

  7. I am planning to handle manual translations for my website and would like clarification regarding the pricing. Since I am not interested in using automatic translation, could you please confirm the costs for the Agency plan when using manual translation only?

    • Hello

The cost of the Agency subscription is as listed on our site: 199 euros

The price of automatic translation credits is APART from the base subscription price.

I hope this clarifies your costs.

      Kind regards

  8. I can´t write a support ticket for pre-sales.

Two invoices charged in my bank account by Paypal payment:
    Invoice OTGS-2816366 (16 July 2025, Item: “1 Site”)
Invoice WPML-17236991 (15 July 2025, Item: “WPML Multilingual Agency for loyal clients”)

I request for a refund of one of them.

    Thanks

    • Hello Edward,
If you are planning to use PTC as a separate tool, you will find all the required information on the following link.
However, if you are considering in having a multilingual website using WPML, you don’t need to do anything, PTC makes part of it and you just need to send your content to translation or this one
      I hope it helps,
      Andrés

  9. Hello Yvette,

I have looked into the “Connect with translations” feature, but I am still not clear on the main issue. As we have lot of pages do we have to manually point the Arabic pages , or is there an automation?

I also have a few other questions regarding this implementation:

1)Since we have a large number of pages, is there an automated way to link the Arabic versions, or does this have to be done manually?

2)Does the WPML translation process automatically create slugs for the translated pages?

3)What is the recommended workflow for sending the translated content to our Arabic users for review before it goes live?

Please answer point by point instead of sharing the links, this would be helpful.

    • Hello

1)Since we have a large number of pages, is there an automated way to link the Arabic versions, or does this have to be done manually?

At the moment, the process is only manual. However, we have had clients ask about doing the linking programatically using our WPML API. Here is an example (not sure if it is visible publicly) : https://wpml.org/forums/topic/connecting-german-and-english-translation-using-the-api/

As a general remark, we recommend connecting the pages either using the following hook :

      https://wpml.org/wpml-hook/wpml_set_element_language_details/
      https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-link-already-translated-pages/

If you are using the REST API, WPML does not provide a direct method for this. However, you can create a custom REST API endpoint that utilizes the
wpml_set_element_language_details hook to set a page as a translation of another. If this is beyond your technical capabilities, you may consider hiring a developer:
      https://wpml.org/contractors/

2)Does the WPML translation process automatically create slugs for the translated pages?

Yes, you can configure the system to generate slugs automatically from the post type title (after the title has been translated)
      Details here: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-page-slugs/

3)What is the recommended workflow for sending the translated content to our Arabic users for review before it goes live?

I am not sure about your exact setup and if “Arabic users” refers to professional translators on your team. However, many clients will use Automatic Translation to create “first-cut” translations that are then later reviewed by professional human translators for fine-tuning. The timing and way they setup this workflow is varied. In general the workflow is:

      • Notifications of Translations available for review are received
      • Translators / reviewers go to WPML → Translations to view the list of translation jobs.
      • Jobs are filtered with status of “Pending review”
      • Translator/Reviewer clicks the “Review” button to open each translation on the site’s front end
      • The translation is reviewed online
      • Translation is accepted/published or corrected.

  10. Hello,
I’m trying to purchase WPML CMS. No matter what I do I get “Your card does not support this type of purchase” or failed transaction on PayPal. I’m able to purchase literally everything else using cards and PayPal. Tried with 3 different cards. Is there another way to pay?

  11. Hey,

How many websites can I use the plugin on? For example, I want to start using it on a stage website and then convert it to a professional website.

Do you have a trial version? And do you offer a refund option if it doesn’t work as well as I expect?

    • Hello

How many websites can I use the plugin on?

The number of active sites (production and development) are listed per subscription type here: https://wpml.org/purchase/

      Blog: 1 production, 3 development
      CMS: 3 production, 9 development
      Agency : unlimited

Do you have a trial version?

Sorry, we do not offer any trials as we offer a very flexible refunds option.

do you offer a refund option if it doesn’t work as well as I expect?

      Yes. Read more here: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds/

      Kind regards

  12. Hello, I know I can use credits to translate my website, but I wonder if you offer any service that would handle the whole translation/setup process (giving you access to the WP dashboard)?

  13. Please does the plugin support automatically language detection, I want those in France when they visit the site the website should appear in french automatically, those in Germany when they open the site the website should open in Dutch automatically, those in India when they open the site the website should open in their language automatically. Please can I achieve this on my website using your plugin, please note, I don’t want language drop-down selection
    Thank you

    • Hello,
Yes, WPML supports automatic language detection (based on the visitor’s browser settings). However, please note that using this feature is not recommended. You can read more about it here.
Multilingual websites don’t need this feature. When your site is available in multiple languages, users will automatically find the correct language version of your pages through Google search.

  14. Hi!
We have website and want to add +10 languages (all pages, posts, menus, Shop widgets, etc.) translations.
We have bought WMP CMS plugin and now what is the best option to faster translate with AI all our content?
We anticipate up to 1 000 000 chars oк 100-150к words.
    1) PTC-and what price per month/year?
    2) DeepL Team- or what price per month/year?
    3) Google AI API?
    Thanks for honest reply advice!
    Mike.

    • Hello,
this calculator will help you estimate the cost.

For example, using PTC you will pay about €1,537.00 for translating 150,000 words into 10 languages.
PTC is the best engine. If you need a more affordable option, you can use DeepL or Google — the cost will be around €887.00.

This is a one-time payment unless you add new content or make updates. In that case, you will only pay for the new or modified sentences.

    • I see you also asked about using Google AI API. I guess you have your own Google AI API key and you would like to enter it. Sorry, but WPML doesn’t work this way, it doesn’t work with individual keys for Google AI API.

  15. Hello, WPML team! How I can contact with manager to discuss details and get help about pricing plan based on my requirments?

  16. Dear WPML Support Team,

I am building a multilingual research website (gdpr-data.ch) using WordPress and considering WPML to manage translations across 10–12 languages. The site links to surveys hosted externally on SurveyPlanet (www.surveyplanet.com).

Could you please clarify the best approach to ensure accurate multilingual integration? Specifically:
    1. Can WPML automatically translate SurveyPlanet survey content, or must we duplicate surveys in SurveyPlanet and link them per language via WPML?
    2. If duplication is needed, can WPML translations (inside WordPress) be used to ensure consistent survey text across languages?
    3. What is the recommended workflow to ensure smooth user experience (e.g., language switcher linking to the correct survey)?

Our priority is accurate translation, GDPR compliance, and consistency across languages. Could you confirm whether our understanding is correct or suggest a better method?

    Thank you for your guidance.

    • Hello

Let me try to answer your questions as you presented them:

      1. Can WPML automatically translate SurveyPlanet survey content, or must we duplicate surveys in SurveyPlanet and link them per language via WPML?

WPML translates content that is stored in a site’s WordPress database. Does SurveyPlanet store it’s survey content in the same WordPress database as your website? If so, then the content would be associated with a custom post type and would be translatable if the system has configured that post type as “translateable”. If SurveyPlanet works with data stored on an offsite platform, then I would expect that you could not translate the survey content unless you replicated it to your WordPress database instance in some way.

      2. If duplication is needed, can WPML translations (inside WordPress) be used to ensure consistent survey text across languages?

If the survey content is stored as a custom post type in WordPress, then yes – WPML translations will translate the existing content and the Translation Management workflow will help you ensure that content and survey forms are consistent across langauges.

      3. What is the recommended workflow to ensure smooth user experience (e.g., language switcher linking to the correct survey)?

I am assuming that the “user” you are referring to is your site visitor that needs to select a survey in their native language and complete it. This implies that you have already solved the issue of storing and synchronising survey content between WordPress and SurveyPlanet and that you have successfully translated the various survey forms into their respective languages. In this case, I would expect that your site’s user experience is monolingual (in the language of their choice) and that the navigation to the relevant surveys section of your site will only present to the user, the surveys that are in their active user-session language.

In other words, the language switcher would normally be used to select the site interface language experience, and the survey listings that they see would present only the corresponding surveys in that langauge.

      4. Our priority is accurate translation, GDPR compliance, and consistency across languages. Could you confirm whether our understanding is correct or suggest a better method?

Translation accuracy will depend on: the machine language translation that you opt to use (or not!), the translation review process, and the general workflow you implement to monitor, correct, and deploy translated surveys. Our plugin gives you the tools to do this.

GDPR compliance is the responsibility of the creator of the surveys. Our plugin is a tool for translation. The various compliance requirements you need to adhere to – much like SEO objectives – are the task of the plugins that dedicate their purpose to those ends. (e.g. https://wpmailsmtp.com/best-gdpr-plugins-for-wordpress/)

      Better Method:

Having an offline platform that holds data is a separate technical challenge preceding transaltion. I would consider, if possible, using a WordPress-based survey plugin if at all possible. Preferably, you would choose one that works well with WPML. Please explore our recommended compatbile plugins here: https://wpml.org/plugin/
The same would be said with regards to GDPR compliance.

Once you have the WordPress based architecture selected, then I would focus on creating a realistic test use case for translation and translation management testing with your desired translation workflow management (e.g. creation, tranlsation, review, updates). This would be true for any translation plugin you select.

Only after being very clear about your data architecture and workflows would I then consider purchasing WPML with the aim of doing a thorough testing. We offer 30-day refund policy so that if you find that our plugin does not fit your needs for any reason, you can receive a refund on your purchase. We know that our plugin might not be the best fit for all use cases.
      https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds/

I hope that I was able to best advise you on the next steps in terms of project definition and management for your translation project.

      Kind regards
