Please note that translation memory only works for new jobs while existing jobs are not touched. This means that:
- either you'll have to update all the occurrences of this sentence, manually in ATE.
- or you 'll need to send the existing content for auto-translation again using "Overwrite existing translations" option. Provided that, you have already at-least edited one occurrence manually in ATE and have changed the translation to update the translation memory. Remember, overwriting existing translations via auto-translate, will cost you credits.
2.) Is there simply a manner to do this with a DB query in the backend? Or is this not recommended. If NOT, please walk me through the steps of what you just explained
A) Doing all occurrences manually in ATE -> means edit translations of the content where that text appears one by one, by editing in ATE and change the text accordingly.
--- In the case of #B, make sure to select "Overwrite existing..." option after selecting previously translated content (which you want to send again for the update). Beware, this 'll cost you more credits.
B.) If the new translated text/sentence is saved to "Translation Memory" prior to running the bulk automatic translation... why would this cost more credits?
The "Overwrite existing..." means it 'll translate anew, as name suggests.
While, normally sending the text again for automatic translation like you 've made some changes and just want those to update, costs only the new text (i.e. which isn't in Translation Memory as well).
