This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
I have a page with a link to download PDF file, how can I translate that link?

Solution:
You can translate the original PDF link in the advanced translation editor as explained in the following guide:

My website uses German and English. One page offers to download a PDF file. Of course the german version shall link to the german PDF, the english version to the english one.

I can manage this with WordPress Editor but not with WPML Translation Editor. It does not offer me the path of the PDF for translation.

I created a temporary page for testing: hidden link and tried to do this as described here: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/media-translation/#using-different-images-and-media-across-languages. But when I go to Translation Management and click on the page, no media is shown below. Is there any possibility to solve that?

In fact there seems to be something wrong in general: also the other pages do not show (all) images there and no videos, no PDF docs - see screenshot.

Thanks again
Gaby

Thanks Mohamed, this did help for the PDF. But the link to the image on that page should also be translated. I can't find it in the translation editor, because search for "http" only finds the PDF. I also don't find it in the translation management. So how can I do it?

Hi Gaby,

I'm glad to hear that the issue with PDF files is fixed. For better support, we handle one issue per ticket so I've created a new ticket for the other issue with images.

Kindly mark this ticket as resolved and we will continue the discussion here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-how-to-use-different-images-in-different-languages/

Regards,
Mohamed
