Hello, I just purchased WPML and downloaded the OTGS installer. I got the key and filled it in. I am now on the page with the checkbox list of plugins I'd like. I am overwhelmed by all the choices, and have no idea which plugins I should and should not get. A couple of facts about my website: -It is a Woocommerce store. It will be multilingual but not multicurrency I have literally no idea wheter I need to download any plugins beside the first two in the list (which are checked by default). Also, will I need to pay for any of the plugins in the list? |

Hi there. You can install the main WPML plugin, WPML String Translation, and WooCommerce Multilingual for now. On this page (https://wpml.org/account/downloads/), if you select "I want to download manually", you will find an icon for a "Documentation" page that you can use to see what each plugin does. Other plugins that you might be interested in are: "Contact Form 7 Multilingual" (if you want to translate the Contact Forms 7 existing form/forms), WPML SEO, and WPML Media. You don't need to pay for them. Anything that you can find available for download under that "Downloads" section that I mentioned, that's included with your current membership. I hope that you will find this information helpful 🙂 Mihai |

question 1 - You told me I should get the "WPML Media" plugin from the downloads page. However, nowhere on the download page is a plugin which is called that. Where can I find that plugin? There is a plugin called "Media translation" on the downloads page. Maybe that is what you are talking about? question 2 - I don't know which translation modus to chose. I want to translate the content automatically (letting WPML's translation program do it), but I want to translate each item 1 by 1 so that I can check each translation first before I move on to the next, and that I need to give approval before WPML translates something. From what I've read, "Translate everything automatically" will literally translate everything, which makes me go through my credits real fast. But the "Translate what you choose" did not have the DeepL, Google Translate, and Microsoft translate modules that were talked about, but instead the list consisted of a bunch of vague translation programs I never heard of. From how I am reading the descriptions, neither "translate everything automatically" nor "Translate what you choose" is exactly what I'm looking for. Please help me out. question 3 - when I was confirgurating, there were recommended 2 plugins to me: 1. Contact form 7 multilingual. 2. WPML SEO. I thought because I have the normal Contact Form 7, they recommended me the multilingual version (they didn't recommend me any other multilingual contactforms), so I downloaded it. However, this got me wondering why they recommended me the WPML SEO plugin. Is it because I have Yoast SEO installed and WPML SEO is compatible with that? question 4 - during the configuration wizard there was the option to get different domain names for different languages. At this point I have no interest in that, but later on that's definitely something I'd want. If I want to switch to that later, is there any way I can do so? I couldn't find it nowhere in the settings and I can't go back to the installation wizard either. |

Hi there and welcome back. I am very happy to help you with these questions 🙂 1. Yes, "Media translation" is the one I was referring to: 2. You can definitely use "Translate what you choose" as that will give you full control. And you can select the translation engine as mentioned here: 3. Yes, that is why you have been recommended "WPML SEO" - because you had Yoast installed already. 4. Yes, you can do that later if you want: The settings can be found in WPML > Languages. Mihai |
