Hi,
I would like to know if the 2000 credits for translation per month refers to translating the same pages each month or only new content? Also, if one were to cancel, are all those translations lost?
Once your page is translated, you don’t need to translate the same page again because the transactions are saved for good. But of course, you can use 2000 credits both for new pages and for pages that already were translated. No, you won’t lose your translations if you cancel your WPML subscription.
For the translation pricing, is the translation price a one-off? for example, I have a blog of 800 words, I upload it and translate it using GTranslate @ 2 credits per word = 1600 credits. or are the credits used based on the number of words on translated pages that are viewed on the site? i.e. blog of 800 words is viewed 10 times in a month so the cost is 16,000 credits for the month ((800*2)*10)
The translations are saved on your site (and are permanent). So you translate your page once and it doesn’t matter how many times it’s visited, no extra credits will be used. So in practice, you don’t need new credits unless you create new pages.
Hello!
I am working on a website that works with Divi Theme and the client wants to have seperate domains for different languages. I see that WPML supports that and is fully compatible with Divi, unlike another plugin I tried.
My question – is it enough to have the “Multilingual Blog” plan that includes one site if I have to have 3 different domains for the same site? Thanks!
How does the system work in practice when updating existing pages. If I update them on the English version do I need to run the translation for that specific part of the page, the whole page? I’m assuming it won’t automatically update the translated pages with new/amended copy
No, it won’t happen automatically. If your original content changes, you will see a special icon on your site’s backend indicating that this and that page needs to be translated again. You need to click on it and then apply machine translations for the parts that have chnaged. It won’t happen automatically.

Liz, one more thing. What I have described so far is how WPML works now. After 4.5 release you will have an option to translate the whole site automatically and no manual actions will be required (even for updated content). But this is coming, not sure when it will be available but we are finalizing the development.
Hello, I would like to use this plugin on a corporate website with several branches: I have the following questions:
-Will I be able to set auto-detect for languages for example a french country to automatically load french pages?
-Does the plugin allow me to do manual translation and load to the specific page or I will have to start with the Auto machine translation first?
-Can I be able to update my content from time to time in different languages?
-Does the plugin translate URLs, post categories, slugs, and all other parts of WP website?
-Do you have a limit of the number of words to translate or limit to pages
-Do I have to link to an API like weglot? We would like to have a website that does not need to be connected to an external site.
-What happens if I forget to renew my subscription?
I will send over new questions from my team as they come.
Hi,
There are few questions that I need clarity on –
1. Will I be able to set auto-detect for languages for example a french country to automatically load french pages?
2. Can I be able to update my content from time to time in different languages?
3. Do you have a limit of the number of words to translate or limit to pages
4. Most imp is : The meaning of words should not change during translation
5. How many languages are available for the translation?
Hello,
Thank you for your interest in WPML.
1. If you want, you can enable the redirection option (it checks the user’s browser language) but this is not needed because you will get organic traffic from Google directly to subpages (depending on what your users will be looking for)
2. Yes, of course. You can update the content anytime you need.
3. Yes, we have a limit of free words: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/
4. I’m not sure what you mean here. We provide 3 services: https://ate.wpml.org/mt_langs Once you save (approve automatic translation) it won’t change automatically.
5. You can add any language to your site but if you are interested in machine translations here’s the list of languages: https://ate.wpml.org/mt_langs
Thanks for the response. So if I had to translate a site with 15,000 words once off and there are no content changes thereafter, would I only need to pay for the additional credits once? I am confused as to why the billing mentioned per month for the ATE service if it’s not going to be be used monthly.
Hi, could you please contact me via email. Looking for two separate quotes for our website, one for 5 languages and one for 10. Also, what happens when we update the website? Do you also take care of Google Ads translations? Thanks, Clio
Hello!
Thanks for your interest. WPML itself does not offer professional translation services and we cannot offer a quote. Feel free to reach out to any of our integarted translation services about this https://wpml.org/translation-service/
If you click, you can still manually update the translation.
Once you enable the ATE editor that offers machine translations, it will be available for all languages. You cannot say: language X uses ATE and language Y doesn’t use ATE. The only thing you can control is whether to click this “translate automatically” button or not.
Unlimited sites (US$159),
or 3 sites (US$79),
but has a question before go.
Suppose I purchased the paid version on May 13, 2021
and I have installed paid version on 2 of my sites
Later after May14, 2022, i.e. one year after the support period,
without continuing to purchase the renewal at $119,
can I still install the paid version and get paid features on my 3rd site?
Hello,
Later after May14, 2022, you can install WPML plugins on any site (provided you have downloaded WPML plugins and saved them on your hard drive) but you won’t be able to register your site. Registration is required for receiving updates.
We are trying to purchase WPML-CMS plan from India. I couldn’t able to find the credit card option for the payments. It’s heading to PayPal account. Could you please guide us on this.
Hello,
thank you for your interest in WPML. On your checkout page please click “Use a different payment processor” (under Privacy and security) and you will be able to use a card.
You cannot register a new site without an active subscription.
The difference between the CMS and the Agency version is the number of sites you can register.
After the subscription has expired you will be able to keep using the automatic translation subscription, but you may need to pay an extra fee.
Tengo un problema con el plugin, me ha llegado un mensaje diciendo que se han generado unas traducciones que debo pagar, que nunca solicité, ya que mi página ya estaba traduida

am I right that the 2000 free credit per month will become NOT valid?
That is, there will be no free credits for automatic translation?
Hello Timy,
ATE account and WPML accounts work independently, at least for now. So you can cancel your WPML subscription and still use free credits. But as you can read here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/ “This pricing is for websites registered on WPML.org with valid accounts. Sites that are not registered or registered on expired accounts pay an additional $2.98 per month for automatic translation.”
We are currently building a new website in WordPress and we need to show different content for different countries, so if you are in the united states you will see our US sales and phone numbers, and if you are in Australia you will see the Australian contact details.
Our existing wordpress site does this using some custom code, however was looking to streamline this, would your plugin address this need to replace content on the page based on country?
Currently developing the new site in a theme using Elementor.
Hello,
WPML allows you to turn your site into a multilingual one. If your site is supposed to be in two languages: Australian English and American English WPML can help too but you would need to add one additional English language and then translate your content. If most of your pages are the same both in Australian and American English you might want to use the “duplicate” option a lot instead of translating pages. Or you can use the “Translatable – use translation if available or fallback to default language”. Yes, WPML works with Elementor.
When I have my website ready I would need 10-20,000 credits. For maintenance 2,000 is enough, unless you charge for the whole page when only a small change is done.
Kindly let me know whether I can use the 10-20000 for one month only and whether changes can be done at part of the page level.
Hello James,
once your content is translated is saved along with your site and unless you change it again, no new credits will be used. When you change a piece of it (say a few words), you will be charged/credits will be used only for these few words, the rest will remain untouched. Yes, you can set up your account to use 10-20000 for one month and soon after translating it, you can cancel your credits subscriptions. Or you can keep it remembering that unless you change your content and decide to translate it again, no new credits will be used. In other words, it’s safe.

To use WPML with Divi the Blog package won’t suffice. You need the CMS package even if you use it only for 1 site.

Yes, you can.

Hi,
I never used WPML with different domains, for example, mysite.pt, myste.com, mysite.es.
I understand how to configure it at server lever, but can I manage all those URL in a single wordpress dashboard, same way as subfolders?
Thank you.

Support my site has 3 languages:
# English,
# Traditional Chinese (tChi),

The default Language is tChi.
is it possible to set:

-> if yes, how to do so?
This will affect if I would like to purchase the Automatic Function of WPML.
Your Prompt Response Would Be Much Appreciated!
Thanks!

Hello Timy,
by default, WPML doesn’t translate anything automatically. If you want to enable machine translations, you need to enable the ATE editor (you can read more about it here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/) Once your ATE editor is enabled and you start translating your pages, you will see an option to translate your page automatically (that’s the blue button on this screenshot: https://cdn.wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/searching-for-url-in-ate.png. You can click on it but this is optional.
If you click, you can still manually update the translation.
Once you enable the ATE editor that offers machine translations, it will be available for all languages. You cannot say: language X uses ATE and language Y doesn’t use ATE. The only thing you can control is whether to click this “translate automatically” button or not.
Here are the translation services along with languages our ATE editor supports:
