    • Hello, thank you for your interest in WPML. This plugin hasn’t been checked by our Compatibility Team and it’s hard to say whether it will work with WPML or not. You can buy WPML keeping our refund policy in mind and check it yourself and if it doesn’t work, you can ask the authors of the plugin to join our compatibility program: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/go-global-program/

  1. We have a problem when using multi-currency via rest api that it does not automatically calculate shipping methods cost, when sending for example a different currency like LYD instead it only fetches the price with the default currency for my site, which is USD, knowing that the currency changer works fine with products and the rest of the site only This problem now I really need help This is the example: http://ww.example.com/wp-json/wc/v3/shipping/zones/3/methods?lang=en&consumer_key=consumer_key&consumer_secret=consumer_secret&per_page=100&currency=LYD&lang=en

    • Hello,
do you mean that you are using WPML and something doesn’t work as expected? If so, please open a ticket on our support forum: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/ Please note that questions related to custom coding (programming) are out of the scope of our help and we cannot promise that you get the feedback you need.

  2. Pricing for automatic translation…
I have a question based on a doubt that I have not yet clarified.
Translations made above 2,000 free credits are always charged on a monthly basis. That’s how it works?

    Thanks

    Elsa Soares

    • Hello,
yes, but we will charge you only when you apply machine translations for newly added content and for content that was already translated only in case you change something. In practice, this means, that you will need more credits when you translate your site for the first time and then, you will need to use translation credits occasionally only when you add new pages or make edits to existing pages (in this case credits will be used only for the sentences you updated).

  3. Hi, I have had a mistake and I have bought the multilingual Agency, how I have to change it to Multilingual CMS?
    Thanks a lot

    • Hello,
we don’t have an automatic option to downgrade and you would need to let your current subscription expire and acquire the lower plan afterwards.

  4. Hi there

I cannot find the answer :
I have a Multilingual Agency, but I want to downgrade to the Multilingual CMS.
I did not see the opportunity to do that ion the account.

I want to keep my existing websites active with a licence, and I just transferred a website to a client and I want to keep the advantage of having done that.

I just cancelled my renewal payment, I’m not I had to do?

Please help me to do this right.

    Thanks you,

    • Hello, we don’t offer an automatic option to downgrade your account, yes, you need to let your existing account expire (or cancel it) and buy again a cheaper plan.

  5. Hello,

Is there any instructions on how to use GeoTargetingWP with WPML, so I can redirect visitors to a translated version of a page based on IP address?

Also would there be a way to alter elements on the various pages, as well as the language? E.G. for Spain have Spanish photographs as well as languages etc.

    Thank you

  6. Hey Agnes,

    Thanks for the reply.
So once the translations are in place, like in that link you sent, is it then possible to edit the translated pages? The elements of that page, and not just translate it.

When a visitor comes to my site, I need the page translated and also small adjustments to that translated page based on their IP.
So for example for Spanish Visitors, I need the page to be in Spanish but also need to add one or two elements that are specific to my Spanish customers. And then I need to do the same for France, Germany Etc.

    Thanks

  7. Hi, I have acquired and updated a site of a customer which was set up with qtranslate. To let the site work once updated I needed to install qtranslateX and deactivate the original.
Here is my question: the site is in three languages, but effectively the only language used is the italian. The other languages have mostly not translated pages and half translated menus. So my idea is to clean the site and make it only italian, then install WPML and start from zero with english and french translations. Do you think it could be the right procedure to use your qtranslate cleanup plugin to convert the site to single language (italian) and then install WMPL?
What about compatibility with old versions of WP Backery Visual Composer and Revolution Slider plugins?
    Thanks, regards

  8. Hello. Tell me, if I use react on the front-end, and on the back-end of WordPress, can I build a multilingual site using your plugin? Will translations be displayed by API?

  10. HI

I had a license that expired.
Now i have a problem with wpml.
Plugin doesn’t calculate VAT tax on second language , only on primary.

I have found on support forums that i am not the only one with that problem.

    How can i solve this?
Is it possible to get help without buying WPML cms again only to solve the problem?

    Thank you

    • Hi!
I am afraid you cannot receive help from our support team without an active subscription.

  11. Hello,

I currently use SiteGround to create a Staging Environment for my site in order to prevent issues from arising.
When registering WPML, will I have to register it directly onto my live site or is there a way to still go through a staging environment?

    Thanks

  12. Hi, My friend is using your plugin for his English and Arabic website. I want that same but in my case I don’t need /ar for Arabic language. I need /arabic for all Arabic URL’s. Please let me know how can I do that?

    • Hello, what you plan to do is technically possible but we don’t recommend doing it. The language codes WPML uses follow the international standards and help search engines (Google, Bing, etc…) understand that this part of your site is a specific language. Plus, WordPress internally uses this code to fetch translations for the components of the site like plugins, admin, etc… So if you change this code you might experience some side effects in the long perspective. But if you really need to do it, you would need to create a custom language with the arabic URL code and set your translations accordingly.

  13. If I have created animated text for a button for my website (specifically, a lottie (.json file) uploaded using Elementor pro page builder) and I turn it into a button, for example “Home” or “Cart” will the WPML plugin be able to read it and translate it?

    • WPML can parse Elementor’s content/widgets correctly to detect strings of text which you can later translate using the WPML’s translation editor we provide. As long as your custom element follows the same standards as other Elementor’s elements, there shouldn’t be any problems. You can buy WPML and test it yourself keeping our refund policy in mid. It allows you to test WPML for 30 days without any risk.

  14. Pricing for automatic translation for a new website
Is there a form to estimate how much would cost to automatically translate one website for the first time?
I am planning to use your plugin in https://acidta.org to translate the site from Spanish to English, but I´d need an estimate to calculate the total cost of translation.
    Thanks!

  15. Hi – Can you purchase the Blog version and then upgrade for the difference in cost to a more robust version if the the blog version proves to not fill your needs? Thanks >Robert

    • Hello Robert. Yes, you can. You can do this at any time as long as your Blog subscription is active, simply log into your WPML account and you will find relevant options to do so.

  16. Hello WPML team,

It’s disappointing that you are using the outdated practice of linking national flags to languages. Even on your website, you are using a language selector of *national flags* only (not even language names), which is like a textbook example of bad internationalization design…

This topic is covered in many places on the web, for example:
    https://www.w3.org/International/questions/qa-link-lang.en
    https://www.unitedlanguagegroup.com/blog/inside-design-a-language-selector-is-no-place-for-flags

All major tech companies have switched to language selectors that use the *names of the languages written in the respective languages*, which is what should be used by default by your product. Of course, if a users insists on using flags, this could be an option, but there is a clear consensus among UI/UX and i18n specialists that leaving flags away is the better option.

    • Hello Maria,
WPML works exactly as you are describing. We don’t show the flags by default in the language switcher and only language names. But we do provide this option and if someone is willing to they can enable it.

  17. Hi!
I have installed WP multisite to introduce the local story with a crowd map.
I need multi-language translation per subdomain and automatic machine translation per page.

According to your price policy, the limit number of words is there.
How much do I have to pay if the word count exceeds the limit?

    Thanks for your information.
    Best Regards

  18. Hey,

I am looking for the best plugin to translate to Thai. So far the translations have not been very accurate, is there anyway you can show me some examples of the plugin with english to thai translation? As i want to be able to see the plugin in action before I commit to buying. Does this use google translate? If so then this won’t be sufficient as it is not accurate at all. Please get back to me asap.

    Kind regards
    Alex

  21. Pricing for automatic translation…

I have a question based on a doubt on which i am confused.
Translations made above 2,000 free credits are always charged on a monthly basis. But if we don’t require any credit once all credits are used. will it be chargeable on monthly basis ? We only require one time machine translation. Kindly help

    Thanks

    Shanky Aggarwal

    • Hello, so in this case, you won’t be charged anything. You are charged only for exceeding the monthly quota (2000) and translating new sentences or updating existing sentences. Yes, that’s a typical scenario: the vast majority of our clients need more credits only for the first time and then they are fine with the 2000 free credits for small updates.

  22. Hello,

I am using GeoTargeting to redirect visitors to my translated (WPML) URL. I was just wondering…
    1. How can I know my SEO still works for these translated pages, and they show on google search? And how to submit the pages for google indexing.
    2. Test how WPML/GeotargetingWP works with caching? Are there any blogs or articles on this?

    Thanks!

    • Hello John,
      1. You might want to include a site map plus in this article: https://yoast.com/help/submit-sitemap-search-engines/ you will find some hints on how to submit your sitemap to search engines. If you observe any issues with pages not being properly indexed, you can reconsider using automatic redirections. Please note that most of the traffic coming to your site will happen in an organic way directly to pages in the user’s language (the language a user performs the search in). Many people assume that visitors go directly to your site’s main domain, which in reality is not so common. In other words, redirecting the user is not that crucial.
      2. Here are the caching plugins WPML work well with:

  23. hello,

When I upgrade my account types, I only pay the difference. The difference is mean below right?

Price for my account less than a year is $80 ($159 – $79)
Price for my account more than a year is $60 ($119 – $59)

    thank you

    • Yes, when you upgrade our system will calculate the difference between what you already paid and the new package. It will also include VAT if you don’t have EU VAT number.
