WPML is used to make your site multilingual (abailable in more than one language) and to translate your site to other languages. If your site is already translated I don’t understand why you would still need WPML. I’m trying to uderstand your case better to give you best answers.

yes, it’s possible in WPML because WPML allows you to select the admin language independently from your front-end language. After installing WPML, in your user profile (WordPress profile) you can select the backend language.

WPML translations (yes, these can be DeepL translations if you select this translation engine as your preference) are stored in your WordPress database. This means, that even if you deactivate WPML you will keep them (unless you clear your WP DB or do a full reset of WPML). But we also maintain the so-called translation memory which allows you to use already translated (and edited) texts again without spending translation credits. For this purpose, the translations are also stored in our cloud but this is transparent for WordPress users.

my understanding is that you translated your pages but they are all mixed up in your WordPress (when you go to the Pages section on your WordPress backend). If that’s the case, WPML can help you but you will need to use it in a special way, meaning you need to open your translated pages and assign the language for each of them and link to the original page.
You have two optins: Option 1
If your site is not using WooCommerce or it’s a relatively simple site, with a simple theme and your site doesn’t use many plugins, and you don’t need machine translation, please consider buying the Blog package. Option 2
If you want to buy the CMS package, you will need to choose “Translate some” instead of “Translate everything” when configuring WPML and then, you will need to switch off the WPML’s editor for all your pages (and use the WordPress navite editor for translated pages). Then, again, you would need to open your translated pages and assign the language for each of them and link to the original page.
We will be using country-specific domains for each of our translated websites, but they are already in use. Is it possible to set this up in WPML without impacting these active domains so that we can build them in a staging environment?
Normally it’s not a problem to build a multilingual site in a staging environment at first and then to migrate the site to production but since your plan to use different domains you might consider approaching it differently.
1. First, install WPML on your testing site to see how it works. I wouldn’t choose the “Translate everything” mode but the “Translate some” to prevent using translation credits.
2. Choose languages in directories (instead of the challenging domain mapping) when testing WPML
3. As soon as you feel you know how WPML works, you can proceed with using WPML on your production site
4. Here again, at first you can use subfolders instead of domains and switch to domains later
5. Also you can use the “hide languages” option in WPML language settings that won’t show your translations on the front-end for your site’s visitors until you are 100% sure to go live with those.

Hello, order numbers are consecutive globally. We never tested WPML with Zoho Books so we don’t know how that plays with languages and currencies. All we can say is that both the language and the currency are stored with other standard order meta ‘wpml_language’ and ‘_order_currency’ respectively. If Zoho Books allows to query by order meta, then we should be ok.

Yes, to translate such strings you might need the WPML String translation plugins that are available only in the CMS package. please buy WPML as any other user. Even if your site is already registered and uses a key coming from your former designer it’s not a problem, you can deregister the site and register it again with your own key.
Steps:
1. Buy WPML (the CMS package) https://wpml.org/purchase/
2. Go to your WP site: Plugins > Add new > Commercial sites and unregister WPML
3. Log into your WPML account, go to “Registered sites” section and add your site’s URL to generate a new key.
4. Grab the key and paste it in the panel from point #2

I know what you mean that Weglot counts translated every time someone visits your website. No, WPML doesn’t work like that and it’s one of WPML’s advantages over Weglot. WPML saves their translation in the WordPress database and so when someone visits your site again, the translations are loaded directly from your post/page.
If you don’t want to be surprised on how much you will pay, you have the following options:
1. Instead of signing up for the so-called pay-as-you (where you need to provide your credit card), you can buy credits in advance. We offer two packages: 40 000 credits for $50 and 200 000 credits for $180. You cannot spend more than what you paid for.

You need to apply automatic translations on the backend. Yes, you can select individual pages to be translated automatically too. When you open a page for editing in another language you will see a button that allows you to apply automatic translation. You can translate it manually if you want, you can even turn off WPML translation editor and translate manually in the WordPress editor. You can even edit the machine translations.
I consulted your Dokan and multicurrency questions with our developers from the Compatibility team and we confirm that in general Dokan is considered compatible with WPML, but we don’t have many customers using multicurrency with Dokan and it’s that’s why it was never extensively tested in this area. So we can’t say with certainty that everything will work correctly here.
