Hello. I am engaged in the development of sites and their subsequent updating. I have several projects that have the multisite function enabled in order to be able to create pages in different languages. There is one main version of the site in German and three alternative versions in English, Italian and French. Tell,
can I set up automatic translation of content and publication of articles on alternative versions of the site using your plugin? I would like to use deepl for translation and I have an account on it.
Summary: I want to publish a page on the main version and have content from it automatically translated and published to alternate versions inside a WordPress multisite.
Hello Chandler, thank you for your interest in WPML. WPML won’t help in your case. If you want to use separate subsites of your WordPress Multisite for different languages, please consider the MultilingualPress plugin. WPML can translate automatically using DeepL (but you cannot use your own DeepL account) and works with WP Multisite but each subsite needs to have its own set of languages, which is not what you need.
I have this website and its already working well with the Q-translate plugin but I don’t know how i can easily switch to WPML with no trouble and as import from qtranslate
Looking forward for your response
Hello, I bought WPML Multilingual Agency but now it is expired.
I need renew it but not want to pay 199 dollars, i need discount price of 149 but i can’t do it.
Where i find discount price for year renew?
Hello!
I just checked your account and saw it expired on March 31st. I am afraid the discount is no longer available and you will have to repurchase for the full amount.
Did you not receive our mails with the reminders to renew in time and not lose the discount?
Hello, thank you for letting us know that you didn’t receive our automatic emails. Let us check it in our logs and we will decide what to do next. I’ll keep you posted.
Hello,
Our logs show that we sent you three emails:
1. 30 days before your automatic renewal we sent an email with the following subject: Goa, your WPML account is about to renew on March/31/2022
2. Then 3 days before the actual renewal is processed by our system we sent another email with the following subject: Your WPML account will renew in three days
3. Finally when the actual renewal failed we sent your one more email with the following subject: Goa, your WPML (WordPress Multilingual) renewal failed
In this case, we cannot give you the discount because it’s only for clients who renew WPML without taking a break. You need to pay the full price again.
I have WPML CMS Plan for loyal clients, my card was declined to make auto payment and now my package is expired. how to reactivate the package? i had this package since 2018.
Hello.
I’m checking the documentation regarding the use of WPML with different domains.
I see that it is possible but is not clear for me if the domain can be also from a different hosting company.
I have a domain (.com) and server hosted with Strato.es but because I need to buy the domain .it is needed to be purchased from another hosting company.
On top of that I’m also wondering if the domain is enough (I suppose so because of just redirects) or I need to buy both domain + server.
Hello,
you install WPML only on one server so you don’t need to buy the server/hosting services when you are buying another domain. You can buy this extra domain from another vendor, no problem (the disadvantage of this is that you need to manage them from different places (to point them to the correct server IP)).
Yes, you can translate slugs with the Blog type of account. If you want to get updates (new versions after the first year), you need to renew your WPML subscription after the first year (for 75% of the initial price). If you don’t need updates, you can cancel it after the first year and still use WPML plugins.
Dear WPML team,
we are willing to use this awesome plugin on our new e-commerce project. However we have one question – we plan to integrate a cost calculator plugin: https://stylemixthemes.com/cost-calculator-plugin/ and wondering if WPML will be able to translate it. I mean all the fields, choices, labels, button titles created by using that plugin. Thanks for clarification!
Hello,
thank you for your interest in WPML. Your calculator plugin – is this a WordPress plugin? If so, you can adjust the plugin to make it translation ready and work with WPML. But this might require cooperation with our Compatibility Team. The first step is to join our Go-Global Program: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/go-global-program/
Hi, I purchased CMS version on 2020 and the price was USD79 that time, recently I received an auto renewal email says USD39…
I also checked some faq…it says the renewal price should be 75% of the original price…
So, my question is, is this renewal price USD39 is CMS version?
Because i want to renew it for CMS version, thanks a lot!
Hello Nicole,
I checked your WPML subscription (the one you have associated with the email you sent this comment with) and it’s the End User subscription. It’s not a regular WPML CMS subscription. The so-called “End User” subscription is created when another WPML user transfers their account renewals to another user (you can read more about here: https://wpml.org/purchase/transferring-account-renewals-to-your-clients/). Your renewal price is the one you see when logging into your WPML account. Please let me know what is your goal now. Do you want to keep your existing subscription and only make sure you will pay $39 or you would like to do something else?
Please help me to decide if WPML is suitable for me or not.
Let’s say I have a post in French and English (one post, two language versions).
I need to make it so that there is a single link to the post. And when I go through it, it opens either the English version or the French one, depending on the client`s language (English client – English post, French client – French post. But the link is the same).
Hello,
when you translate a page or a post using WPML, it creates the translation on a separate URL (and this is what Google recommends for creating multilingual sites). For example:
yourdomain.com/about-us (English)
yourdomain.com/fr/a-propos-de-nous (French)
I’m not sure what you mean by “I need to make it so that there is a single link to the post.”
Hello, I am trying to renew my two subsites. I renewed the first, but cannot find how to renew the second.
Here’s the link to renew for the eFusion site: https://wpml.org/end-user-checkout/?

Hello Thomas,
I checked what kind of WPML account you have in our system (registered with the email you posted this comment with). Indeed, you have the so-called End User account. It will expire on August 15, 2023. This kind of account allows you to have only one WPML site registered. Please let me know what is your goal here. What type of account do you want to have and for many sites?
No, you cannot install WPML plugin using composer.js.
If this is a WordPress plugin, that’s good. You can make it WPML ready. This article can be helpful for you: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/achieving-wpml-compatibility-for-your-themes-and-plugins/ You can ask our technical supporters for details if needed when trying to adjust your plugin to be fully compatible with WPML. Please note that depending on the plugin and how it works you might need some custom adjustments to make it 100% ready.
When I have English browser and open a link for French (yourdomain.com/fr/a-propos-de-nous) – will it redirect me to English version of page (yourdomain.com/about-us) (because my default language is English).
Yes, you can turn on redirections in WPML’s settings if needed. If this feature is enabled, WPML will detect the user’s language set in their browser. Please note that this feature is not as important as it seems to be because in most cases the traffic to your site will be from search engines (Google) directly in the user’s language.
The fact is, it is a very important feature for our project 🙂
We plan to place QR codes on objects in offline, which should lead to articles on the website in the default language of the user (or English, if there is no translation of the article).
You have two options here:
a) create QR codes for the URLs to both your original and translated versions
b) create QR codes for the URLs only to your original versions and enable the redirection feature
Hi Agnes,
The 1st year was bought by our developer and we paid USD79 for the plan, before we pay the 2nd year, our developer helped to transfer WPML to me and paid USD39, this year the renewal is also said USD39…
anyway, now i need CMS plan…since the auto renewal will be Sept. 6th, how can i upgrade to CMS plan? thank you.
Hi Nicole,
Agnes has closed for the day. I am afraid this account-type cannot be upgraded. If you need a CMS subscription, you need to let your subscription expire (cancel the renewal payment) and then buy a new CMS for the full amount (99$)
I believe I have been talking with your developer via email about this. Let me contact you via email directly, it will be more straightforward.

Hello,
I’m not sure if you are referring to a regular website that you want to make multilingual or to a WooCommerce store (or both in one).
1) If you want to make your regular site multilingual, the only rediretion WPML provide is detecting the user’s default language set in the user’s browser and redirecting to this language automatically. This feature is turned off by default so you would need to enable it.
2) If you have a WooCommerce store and you use the pro version of this plugin you can set currencies per location: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/multi-currency-support-woocommerce/#currencies-per-location The site visitor can change the lanaguge and currency using switchers (dropdowns) but they can choose only from the ones on the list. It means that you need to provide the specific list of currencies and/or languages in advance.
Can I register websites domain and generate the key dynamically ? If I use the unlimited license and need to generate WPML site key for hundreds of websites, how can I do that without the need to register hundred of domains in my WPML account ? for example some plugins generates only one key that I can use for all websites.
Hello,
no, you won’t lose your prepaid credits. Prepaid credits can stay untouched for as long as you need them if you keep them on their WPML account. If you assign some of them to your site, they will be used first (when you start translating), before the pay-as-you-go credits are used. But you will never lose when signing for the pay-as-you-go. Even if you have your prepaid credits assigned to your site(s), you can always take them back from that site and increase the poll of credits on your WPML account. In other words, your WPML account is the center of managing credits – from there you assign them to different sites.
Hello, I bought the translation plugin for a client, and I made a mistake when entering the email and now it won’t let me change it, nor do I have access to the account to be able to start the plugin in wordpress.
What I can do? I already sent an email in contact, but it won’t let me talk to support directly because it tells me that I haven’t bought the whole plugin.
I have it purchased on the account that I cannot access.
if I use this plug-in to develop a site for a client and purchase it when next year rolls around will the site not work anymore? what if I am not available to Update?
Hello,
WPML, once installed and registered on a site will continue working even if you don’t renew your WPML subscription or you don’t perform any updates (of course we cannot anticipate what happens if one of the future WordPress releases introduces some big changes that might affect WPML and you didn’t update WPML to a new version that supports it). So WPML updates are optional (but recommended because they fix bugs and bring new features). You (or your client) can update WPML on their site as long as your site is registered and the WPML subscription is active. If you cancel your WPML subscription (or it expires itself because you didn’t pay for the next year), you can still use WPML plugins but without updates. You can renew WPML again after a break (say, a few months or even years) but in this case you won’t get the 25% discount we are offering to clients who use WPML continuously. I hope it helps.
Hello,
I checked your site and it’s not registered. It means, that I cannot find the connection between the site and the previous owner. We allow developers to transfer the domain to their clients so that (meaning you) can use WPML independently for a reasonable price but it didn’t happen in your case. If you want to continue using WPML on your site with the recent updates you need to buy it again and register it with your key (generated on your account). You don’t need to reinstall the WPML plugins, these along with yuor existing setup and tranlations will be kept.
HI
I have a real estate website done with WordPress.
It is in English and I want to make it in Thai as well.
Questions are.
1 am I in the good place for this?
2 If I buy the 1st package, can I later switch to the second one? After i asses whether I am happy or not?
Hello Olivier,
thank you for your interest in WPML and your questions.
What plugin or theme have been used to make your WordPress site real estate ready? I’m because to translate real estate properties (and related stuff) your theme/plugin should be compatible with WPML.
In theory, you can buy the Multilingual Blog package first and the upgrade to the Multilingual CMS one (by paying the difference) but please note that both package support slightly different translation modes. If you use the Blog package, you need to translate your site manually and if you don’t have access to machine translations, you cannot use our Advanced Translation Editor either. So upgrading from the Blog to the CMS package means getting used to a slightly different translation flow. Plus, often for translating real estate properties you will need the String Translation plugin which is only available in the CMS package.

Hello,
1. Translating 1 million words will cost around $637.00 USD if you translate your site to 1 language using DeepL or Google Translate. If you use the Microsoft translation engine you will pay $362. Please use our interactive calculator to check it yourself: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/ (How much do credits cost? > Estimate the translation costs for your site using pay-as-you-go +)
2. Invoices are issued and your credit card is charged on the 3rd of each month. Please read more about it here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-invoices/
3. You don’t reallocate credits that have been used. You can move your test site to production by copying the database. Related info: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/using-advanced-translation-editor-when-you-move-or-use-a-copy-of-your-site/ Another way is not to use automatic translation on your site when working on a test site (maybe on a few pages to see how it works).

In my previous reply, I meant that you can use WPML without (not “with”, as I wrote) updates if your WPML subscription is no longer active.
I bought wpml with a https://inewhair.com domain account, but the previous developer left the company and I lost my account.
Is it possible to check the email registered in the account?
Hello,
I checked your site and it’s not registered.
