Hi
I need to do automated translate of e-shop in woo-commerce in 4 lanuages. I estimate that there could be 250 000 words. We need also to translate XML feed.
Does this plugin translate also XML feeds?
Which Pricing package shall we order? Or can we start to use plugin and pay every month according translated words?
But since you will get 90 000 credits for free when buying WPML, it will be less than that.
You don’t need to translate everything at once.
You can add only one language first and see how it goes. Then you can add other languages.
You can also choose “Let me choose what to translate” mode instead of “Translate everything”.
I don’t know much about what you mean by XML feeds but if your site is pulling content from somewhere else (XML feeds), no, you won’t be able to that content I’m afraid.
Hi. I am thinking of buying wpml license to use alongside my bricks builder
When asked on forums, almost everyone told me that they used wpml and it’s very heavy on the website. Almost everyone recommended me to use translatepress because it’s much better than wpml
Can you disprove people on bricks builder forums? Do you have any date to disprove 5ha
That wpml is not heavy on websites compared to translatepress?
?
Hello,
do you mean Bricks from https://bricksbuilder.io/? If so, WPML is not compatible with it. https://wpml.org/theme/bricks/
I don’t have any reports/stats that compare WPML versus Translate Press in terms of performance so I cannot address this topic but WPML is better at managing translations (both automatic and manual) than Translate Press.
Since we are not officially compatible with this plugin and we cannot give any guarantee that it will work. The other user from the support thread I shared in my previous comment was saying that WPML worked with the Product Feed PRO. If you want to give it a try, you can buy WPML keeping our refund policy in mind, which allows you to test WPML for 30 days. You can use our support forum (we also provide the live chat option) during these 30 days.
Hello,
Hi, I am thinking of purchasing a WPML license. Few questions:
1. To confirm, your plugin is compatible with Elementor, as all of the sites (and new pages) use Elementor.
2. Is there any way to choose Which pages I want to be present on the other language menu, which means I might have a page that is in English, but this page is not in another language? Or vise versa, I have pages only in other languages but not in the default language.
3. Do you have a trial version?
Hello,
1. Yes, we are compatible with Elementor.
2. Yes, you can choose which pages to translate and yes, you can also have some pages in the other language without their equivalent pages in the original language. But to make this possible, you cannot use the “Translate everything” mode but “Translate what you choose”.
3. No, we don’t. You can buy WPML keeping our refund policy in mind. It allows you to test WPML for 30 days without any risk.
I realized as I was waiting for my license that I typed an error in my email [email addresses have been removed from this comment]. Kindly correct and issue my license. Thank you.
I can see that the correct email address is used in our system, so I believe this has been sorted out. If needed, you can reset your password: https://wpml.org/account/lost-my-password/
For some reason, I’m not seeing my question here. No problem, here’re is again. The first one is already answered by you, please confirm for the second.
1. Is there an option to translate only specific content? We will be using the plugin to translate only the blog post pages. Our website content is very vast, with 500+ blog posts and 100+ pages, so excluding the URLs option won’t be convenient. If there isn’t such an option, will it be possible via adding some code to the theme’s functions.php file or something?
Answered: Hello, yes, there is. You can select certain pages and posts and apply automatic translation to only these in bulk. When setting up WPML, don’t select “Translate everything” but “Let me choose what to translate”.
2. How does the plugin handle tags like strong, a, etc. inside a sentence? Does it consider it separate from the rest of the sentence or consider the entire sentence while translating?
E.g. “I am writing a letter” should be translated as “I am writing a letter” as a whole instead translating “I am writing” and “a letter” separately. Separate translation causes mistranslation and fragmented sentence structure.
Yes, I couldn’t answer the second question last time because part of it was removed (probably because you used some HTML tags). Now, I see it and I understand your concern and I guess I know what you mean. WPML can translate the sentence fully as longs as it written in one line (not broken down in separate paragraphs) even if you use formatting (bolding underlines etc in a piece of it). Please see my examples here: https://translation-reviewers.otgs.work/user24/about-us/
I don’t know which languages you speak but I translated this post to Polish and German.
As you can see the first senetence was handled correctly even though a piece of this sentanece was bolded.
No, you won’t lose these credits. The 90 000 credits remain. By default, they “sit” on your WPML account but you can use some of them (or all) and assign to your site(s). If you have some of these free credits assigned to your site and you use pay-as-you-go, these free credits will be used first. So if you don’t want to use your free credits at all, simply don’t assign them to your site. Please see how it looks like on my account: https://wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/credits-1.png
We are interested in your services and would like to find out if we can do the following with WPML:
1. Export/import strings and other types of text from our website as programming files (json, xml, csv, html. etc.) so we can send these for professional translation with a translation company of our own chose, and then import the translated files back into the website
2. Translate in context (see the content that we are translating while translating it). If so, can this be done with a translation company of our choice?
3. Keep translation memory of all of our translations for each language and use it in the process of translation
If we choose to work with some of your translation partners:
1. Do they translate in context (see the content that they are translating while translating it)?
2. Do we pay all text as new words or do we get a discount for fuzzy matches (in case there is a translation memory)?
3. What are the average rates of the translation companies per new word?
Your answers to these questions would be much appreciated.
Hello Yanko,
thank you for your interest in WPML. WPML provides different options for handling the translation work. Let me explain these various options when answering your questions.
1. We provide the ability to export and import translations in the XLIFF format. This is the format used by professional translators and their tools. Please check this page to learn more.
2. If someone translates your page using WPML by opening the page in the WPML translation editor, they will see the content of the entire page and this way will understand the context. They can also click “Translate automatically” to seed up the translation and then of cource edit the machine translation if needed https://cdn.wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/wpml-translate-automatically.png
3. Yes, as long as you translate your content on the site and keep the Advanced Translation Editor enabled (the one I showed on my screen), translation memory will be used. But if you are sending your content somewhere else outside your WordPress we cannot control how they use it.
Regarding our translation partner.
1. Yes, they do. But also it depends on the content of your site and what you send to translation. If you send a post or a page, they will see the entire post/page. But if you send individual strings such as “Buy” or “Read more” that are coming from the GUI of your plugins, in this case the context will be unknown.
2. This is the question to the partner you choose. If you translate on your site using WPML editor, translation memeory is used and you don’t need to use new translation credits for phrases that have been already translated.
3. You would need to check with individual service by clicking on the “Get a quote” button https://wpml.org/translation-service/
Please note that you can also add a translator to your WPML website and send the content to translate to them. This is done in WPML’s Translation Management panel and will work after adding these people to your WordPress site with the translator role.
To sum up, WPML provised varioud ways to handle translations. After buying WPML don’t choose “Translate everything” but “Choose what to translate” mode in the WPML wziard and then go to WPML’s Translation Management panel to explore all these options.
1. As several blogs have stated, there is a free version of WPML on wordpress.org. Can you tell me the difference between the free version of WPML and the paid version (in particular the paid version of 99$)
2. You said in a reply to Zuzana that WPML is not compatible with the Product Feed Pro plugin, but then mentioned a thread that had to deal with issues of multiple currencies. 3. Are the prices including VAT/GST/Sales tax, or are they tax free? I am asking this because your company is based in Hong Kong where there are no such taxes.
Hello Thomas,
1. As several blogs have stated, there is a free version of WPML on wordpress.org. Can you tell me the difference between the free version of WPML and the paid version (in particular the paid version of 99$)
We have our WooCommerce MultiLingual module available for free in the Repo https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-multilingual/. It is a restricted version for the WC features. To access all features of our plugin (like integration with other 3rd party plugins), you will need the paid version (CMS for 99$)

I don’t believe we are compatible at all with Product Feed Pro, if this is what Agnes said. But let me double check on this and get back to you.

We have to charge VAT from EU clients. If you are from the EU (I believe you are because of the domain in your email address) and have a valid VAT number, we will not charge you for VAT.

Hello,
Your WPML subscription expired on April 27, 2023. You should still be able to log into your WPML account and assign credits to your site. Please let me know what you mean that you cannot use your credits. What do you do and what message you are getting. Please note that you can still renew your WPML subscription with a discount.
i already pay for Deepl monthly
i understand you need to earn some money but
how can I use my Deepl account to translate my website ?
even with paying you a small fee ?
Hello,
no, I’m sorry but you cannot use your DeepL account to translate your WPML page. WPML uses its own way to connect to DeepL. If you plan to use WPML with DeepL, you can cancel your DeepL subscription.
Hi,
I am thinking of buying the WPML subscription, but I have 2 questions. Correctly I am using Translate Press and my website is o WordPress.
1) If I install WPML will my already texts disappear? I am very worried about my already translated texts.
2) Also, I am using Yoast SEO Premium and I wonder if it is fully compactable with WPML (e.g. if I can write alt texts and meta descriptions of my blog posts)?
Hello,
thank you for your interest in WPML. You cannot use WPML and Translate Press at the same time I’m afraid. Can I ask what is the reason to use WPML is your site is already multilingual? I’m trying to understand your setup and why you would like to use two multilingual plugins. Yes, we are compatible with Yoast. Yes, you will be able to translate alt texts and meta descriptions of your y blog posts.
The main reason for me is that I have a Yoast Premium SEO plugin and there are not all features with Translate Press. For example, I cannot write meta descriptions or key words in translated version of my website.
The 2nd reason is that with Translate Press, I have to translate the text paragraph by paragraph, I cannot copy and paste the whole text in the translated blog post.
Ok, I now understand that 2 plugins cannot work together. Then, my 1st step will be deleting Translate Press and installing WPML and then I will have to add the translated texts?
And you can click the “Translate automatically” button to translate the content automatically (and make edits if needed). When a page opens in this editor you won’t be able to copy paste your translation. If you do need to copy-paste the translation, you will need to swich off the WPML editor and the page will open in the standard WordPress editor.
Hi Thomas – We cannot guarantee that Product Feed Pro is compatible with WPML, as we have not been able to reach the author of the plugin for a compatibility partnership. If you are in contact with them, please have them reach out to us, as our emails have not gone through: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/go-global-program/
For the most up-to-date information on which plugins are compatible with WPML, please see our compatibility directory: https://wpml.org/plugin/
Hi again, you stated that you don’t know if the Product Feed Pro is compatible with WPML, but on the website of Product Feed Pro, they stated that the paid version includes WPML support, including its currency switcher. See link: https://adtribes.io/pro-vs-elite/
Is it possible that they are in fact compatible with WPML, but just without ever setting up some type of agreement with WPML? I just find it strange that they claim they have functions for WPML, but here at WPML they are saying that it might not be compatible.
We don’t have a ‘formal’ partnership. I just discussed this case with our Partnership Manager and he will try to get in touch with the author(s) again. So we might be compatible but we cannot guarantee the compatibility. If you could double-check with the author of the plugin that would help too. You can also buy WPML and test it yourself keeping our refund policy in mind. If we manage to get in touch with the authors, we will cross-test our plugins for compatibility and add the plugin to our Compatibility list but this can take time.
Thomas, our partnership manager reached out to the authors of the Product Feed Pro plugin and they just confirmed that the paid Elite version of their plugin is compatible with WPML. If you have that version feel free to proceed with buying WPML. We will arrange some internal activities to about getting a listing on our site.
We received a report that using your plugins together with (https://wordpress.org/plugins/zettle-pos-integration/) can cause products to be duplicated when synchronized to the Zettle library. We want to test this situation, but we can’t purchase your plugins for this purpose. Would it be possible to share your plugin with us for this testing purpose. The user that reported this to us, has got these plugins in use:
. WooCommerce Multilingual & Multi-Currency 5.1.3
. WPML Media 2.7.2
. WPML Multilingual CMS 4.6.3
. WPML SEO 2.1.0
. WPML String Translation 3.2.5
Hello Joost,
You are welcome to join our GoGlobal program here https://wpml.org/documentation/support/go-global-program/. We will grant you a free subscription for testing purporses and also work with you to achieve full compatibility between our plugins.

Hello Zuzana,
according to our calculator to transla te 250 000 words with DeepL (that provides the best quality) into 4 additional languages you will need to spend about $637.00 USD
https://wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/ate-pricing.png
But since you will get 90 000 credits for free when buying WPML, it will be less than that.

Hi
thak for fast answer. XML feeds: We need to create XML feed in different language for Google Merchant. Will it be possible with this plugin?
Zuzana
How do you create these XML feeds?
with plugin Product feed PRO
Z.
Thank you for providing me with the name of the plugin. We are not compatible and you might run into issues – please check this https://wpml.org/forums/topic/product-feed-pro-for-woocommerce-issue-with-get-product-currency/
We are compatible with this one:

Yes, WPML and its SEO add-on (full name is “WPML SEO”) allow you to translate meta descriptions nad title as explained here: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/using-wordpress-seo-with-wpml/#translate-page-seo-attributes
You mentioned the ability to copy-paste the whole text. Let me explain how it works in WPML. When you translate a page in WPML, the translated page will be opened in the WPML translation editor that looks like this: https://cdn.wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/wpml-yoast-seo-advanced-translation-editor.png
And you can click the “Translate automatically” button to translate the content automatically (and make edits if needed). When a page opens in this editor you won’t be able to copy paste your translation. If you do need to copy-paste the translation, you will need to swich off the WPML editor and the page will open in the standard WordPress editor.
This page explains how to do this:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/#how-to-use-manual-translation
This feature allows you disable the WPML editor for individual pages or for all of your pages.
Yes, you will need to disable Translate Press.
I am building my site now and plan to translate it into French and Arabic myself. Can I add my own translations to this once it is set up?
Hello, yes, you can add your own translations too but in this case, you will need to disable the WPML translation editor as explained on this page: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/#how-to-use-manual-translation
Dear Mercedes,
Can you please get back to me to tell me if WPML is compatible with Product Feed Pro if I only work in euros?
Also, can you tell me some other product feed plugins which are compatible with WPML?
Hi Thomas – We cannot guarantee that Product Feed Pro is compatible with WPML, as we have not been able to reach the author of the plugin for a compatibility partnership. If you are in contact with them, please have them reach out to us, as our emails have not gone through: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/go-global-program/
For the most up-to-date information on which plugins are compatible with WPML, please see our compatibility directory: https://wpml.org/plugin/
Hi, are you a U.S. based company? For my billing department I need a W9 form. If so can you provide?
Thanks,
OnTheGoSystems is incorporated in Hong Kong.
Is this compatible with squarespace websites or only WordPress?
Hello,
thank you for your interest in WPML. WPML is a WordPress plugin. It won’t work with squarespace websites.
Hello,
We received a report that using your plugins together with (https://wordpress.org/plugins/zettle-pos-integration/) can cause products to be duplicated when synchronized to the Zettle library. We want to test this situation, but we can’t purchase your plugins for this purpose. Would it be possible to share your plugin with us for this testing purpose. The user that reported this to us, has got these plugins in use:
