Hello, sites that you register as “development” will have a small banner added to your site’s footer saying that this is a development site. A similar banner will be displayed on your WordPress admin too. We introduced this feature to allow our clients to use WPML on more than 3 websites if they also have staging/testing environments. If you are testing WPML on a copy of your site, feel free to register it as “development” instead of production. With the CMS package, you can register 3 production sites and in addition, 9 sites as development sites. 12 websites in total. You can register and unregister your sites as many times as you want but you cannot get over the limits we have: 3 production sites and 9 development sites at a given time.
Hello,
I’m not sure what you mean by “know the commercials”. Are you asking about the costs of automatic translations? WPML is integrated with the Google Translate engine too (but the DeepL engine is the default one so if you want to use Google Translate you would need to choose the “Pause” option in the WPML wizard, go to WPML > Settings and change the order of DeepL and Google Translate to make Ggoogle Translate appear first) and then Resume your automatic translations. When you buy WPML you will get 90 000 translation credits for free which will allow you to translate 45 000 words. If you need more translation credits, please check the options: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/
WPML can translate from English to German. Please note that only DeepL integration allows you to choose the language tone: Formal versus Informal, which is importnat for the German language.
Good morning, I have just a couple of doubts before purchasing your plugin. The first one is whether the entire site is automatically translated based on the visitor’s default browser language recognition or IP. If I continuously post in my native language, which is Spanish, will the new content be automatically translated? How does the plugin handle the translation and SEO optimization of specific keywords in different languages? How does the plugin ensure that the automatically generated translations are accurate and natural enough to maintain content quality in all languages? Lastly, if I choose Google translation, with just the Google API key, will there be free translations available?
> The first one is whether the entire site is automatically translated based on the visitor’s default browser language recognition or IP.
Your site can be automatically translated but not based on the browser language recognition but based on the language(s) you added when setting up WPML. You can enable the automatic redirection to the user’s language (browser language recognition) too, if needed.
> If I continuously post in my native language, which is Spanish, will the new content be automatically translated?
Yes, if you select the “Translate Everything” mode. If you choose “Let me choose what to translate” you will need to click something to trigger automatic translations when you edit your original content.
> How does the plugin handle the translation and SEO optimization of specific keywords in different languages?
We are compatible with the most popular SEO plugins and you can translate the meta tags and keywords too. For example check Yoast integration: https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/using-wordpress-seo-with-wpml/
> How does the plugin ensure that the automatically generated translations are accurate and natural enough to maintain content quality in all languages?
We use DeepL and Google Translate APIs. DeepL is the default one. You can test the quality of the translation at https://www.deepl.com/translator or https://translate.google.com/ You can manually edit these translations if needed.
> Lastly, if I choose Google translation, with just the Google API key, will there be free translations available?
No. You cannot use the Google API key. We provide internal integration with Google Translate directly through our and Google’s API. When you buy WPML, you will get 90 000 translatoin credits for free which allows you to translate 45 000 words. If you need more translation credits you need to pay for them: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/
Please report this issue on our support forum and if the credits are still available for you in our system they will help you to get them assigned to your new site. https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/
I purchased the plugin, but I didn’t receive any confirmation letter to my Email.
and I tried to reset the password, but also didn’t receive any email.

Hi. I need to translate all the site into Spanish. I use REVO theme. I need to know if the plugins installed with the theme and the widgets can be also translated. Other multilanguage tested do not translate the widgets.
Before buy, I need to know if I will be able to do a full translation. Also, let me know if I need the 39/year or another plan. I have only one site, only one administrator, and only one language (Spanish).
Hoping for your response to close the deal,
best regards, Juan
Hello Juan,
this theme hasn’t been tested by our Compatibility Team and we cannot guarantee that it will work with WPML without issues. You mentioned widgets. Are these Elementor basic widgets or these are some custom widgets created by the authors of the REVO theme? If these are custom REVO theme widgets these might not be recognized by our plugin for automatic translation.
Yes, you can use your credit card. On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.
Hello,
Yes, there is. You can use your card. On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.
Hello,
the text you want to translate is part of your image (picture), you will need to provide a separate image with that text translated and yes, WPML has a way to provide a different image. To do so you will need the Media Translation plugin (it’s included in the CMS package). However, if you want to translate the image caption or the alternative text, you don’t need this plugin, you will be able to translate these texts with the main WPML plugin.
Hello Nick,
you cannot keep your existing translations when you use the WPML plugin. Every multilingual plugin has its own rules and when used together they might conflict.
Yes, you can use your credit card. On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.
If the text is on the image WPML as part of the image, no, WPML cannot create a new image file with a new (translated) text. This needs to be done by a graphic designer.
I use a directory listing theme, users can register on the frontend dashboard and insert data in listings/ads to publish them.
If a user in the frontend dashboard insert individual texts in the title field of the listing/ad or insert individual texts in the description field of a listing/ad, this texts can be translated in some languages in the frontend user dashboard?
Or the theme needed to be prepared for a multilingual user dashboard translation?
I don’t think this is possible with WPML (translating frontend-submitted texts automatically is a challenging task) but please provide us with the name of your theme and we will check if this theme is compatible with WPML and if it is, if it also makes it possible to handle front-end submissions.
One of our faculty members would like to do business with your company but in order to put you in our system as a vendor we need a W9 or W8. Is that something you can provide me?
Hello, please use this form to request the W9 form: https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/ I’m not totally sure if we provide one but the person who will get your email will know. Thank you.
Hi there, I have a couple of questions:
-If I buy a subscription for 99€ it includes 90 000 credits but what if I need more? Can you give me a table where I can see how much it costs to buy 10 000 new credits for example?
– We have a “NEWS” section on the site and we add a new article there every day, so if I understand correctly, every time we add an article I will have to translate it manually or it will translate itself and it will lose credits?
– We have a site that has around 30 subpages is that a problem or can we have as many as we want?
Thank you for your help
Hello Francisco,
thank you for your interest in WPML.
The CMS subscription costs $99 (not 99€), which is around 90€.
If you need more credits you have two options, please check this page for details. There is an interactive calculator in the “Calculate your cost” section. You will pay about $6 for 10,000 if you use the Pay-as-go-go method or you can buy 40,000 credits for $50 if you use the pre-paid credits option.
Regarding translating your news section. It depends on your translation settings what is gonna happen. If you select the “Translate everything” mode, adding new content to your site will trigger automatic translation soon after the post is published. If you select the “Let me choose what to translate” mode nothing will be triggered automatically. You will need to click on something to trigger the automatic translation or translate manually (manual trnslation is also possible).
You can have as many pages as you want.
Hello,
the translation services WPML integrates with provide human-made translations and this kind of translation is the most expensive. You would need to check with the translation sevice of your choice. The fastest way to do this is to click on the “get a quote” button on this page: https://wpml.org/translation-service/
Hi Mercedes,
Thank you for the informations.
We’re using custom theme with ACF(Advanced Custom Field) plugin option, Please let me know if it is compatible with WPML.
Yes, WPML is compatible with ACF. If your customer theme follows the WordPress standards for handling texts (e.g. using gettext functions), it will work with WPML too.
Hi,

Hello Joanna,
I see you are using Elementor and ContactForm 7.
You will need the CMS version
https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/elementor/
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/using-contact-form-7-with-wpml/
3 production sites means you can register up to 3 sites through your account.
Kind regards,

@your comparison table:
polylang increased the prices dramatically, you might want to update your comparison table as it is in your favor a lot.
1 site – 139.00€
3 sites – 269.00€
5 sites – 399.00€
25 sites – 649.00€
How nice of you! Thank you for letting us know. We will update the pricing page.
We need
-Spanish
-Mexican
-French
Unable to find Mexican, How can we translate into Mexican?
Please advice.
Hello Praveen,
You can add Mexican as a custom language. WPML is a language-based plugin and not country-based. You can add Mexican Spanish as a language variant. See here https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/editing-wpmls-languages-table/
Kind regards,
Hello, the official language of Mexico is Spanish, if you want you can add two Spanish languages to WPML, one for Spain and one for Mexico. We call these custom languages, this topic is explained here: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/editing-wpmls-languages-table/#on-this-page
Does it provide automatic Translations for Spanish and French?
Can you provide free demo to check?

Hello Muhammad,
Thanks for your interest.
No, we no longer offer lifetime subscriptinos, I am afraid.

Hello Juan,
this theme hasn’t been tested by our Compatibility Team and we cannot guarantee that it will work with WPML without issues.

If we opt for automatic translation is it one-time or by pageview?
It’s a one-time. If the original content changes, only the pieces/sentences that have changed will be retranslated.
Okay I understand, and if I translate the content myself via WPML without using automatic translation so I don’t need to use credits?
That’s correct. If you translate yourself you can still use the WPML’s translation editor or you can switch it off completely by following these steps: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/
