  1. Hello,

Thank you for your response! The theme I’m using is the Homey WordPress theme by Favethemes.

If you could have a look for me and confirm that what I request is possible, that would be great. Additionally, if it’s possible, please confirm which plan of your subscription will be required to be purchased. Thank you!

    • Hello,
We are not compatible with the Homey theme. We are compatible with the Houzez theme by the same authors. For a website with properties you would need the to buy the Multilingual CMS package but if you use the Homey theme you might not be able to translate properties using WPML.

  2. Dear Team,

I have recently acquired WPMP and initiated the process to have our entire website translated automatically. Initially, I utilized the credits that were provided upon purchase. However, I still require an additional 3,324,718 credits to complete the translation of the entire website. I would like to procure these credits in a single transaction to ensure it is included in this quarter’s budget.

Could you kindly provide me with the payment link at your earliest convenience? I am prepared to finalize this transaction today.

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Best regards,

    • Hello,
Thank you for using WPML. You will pay about 950.00 EUR + VAT for 3,324,718 credits with the Pay-as-you-go option. Please check the calculator here. Invoices are issued and your credit card is charged on the 3rd of each month so you would need to way a few days.
If you are interested in paying immediately, you would need to but the so-called Prepaid credits (also explained on this page) but in this case you will pay more (200,000 credits for €180 + VAT).

  3. Hello,

I have an online webstore with local currency in PLN (polish zloty). I want to expand my business and sell not only in Poland. Currency for other countries than Poland will be EUR.

Can I set prices in PLN for customers from Poland and EUR from others, but payment at the checkout will be in local currency (PLN)? I cannot accept payment in other currencies. At the checkout, amount in EUR will be converted in PLN.

    Thank you

    • Hello Max,
What you see on the pricing page is the price for the first year. Renewals are optional and WPML will continue working even if you don’t renew it but in this case you will lose access to updates and our support forum. You will get 25% discount for the next year if you decide to renewal it again.

  4. Hello,

I am developing an e-commerce website using WordPress and its essential plugins. I want to incorporate local languages (Amharic, Oromo, and Gedeo), but these languages are not available in WPML’s list. My friends and I are native speakers of these languages, so we do not need translation support. However, we need a plugin that allows us to create a multilingual website with a language switcher.

Will the custom language editor in WPML enable us to add our local languages, translate pages, themes, and plugins, and create a language switcher?

We are considering purchasing the CMS plan.

    Thank you.

    • Sorry, we have no such plans now. You can reach out to the Homey theme authors and let them know. We know that when our clients are reaching out to the theme authors, this gives the author a better incentive to collaborate with us.

  5. I am considering creating a multi-region / multi-language site and wanted to know if WPML will enable this.
For example, the site will be:

    – Canadian – English
    – Canadian – French
    – Dubai – English
    – Dubai – Arabic

We need a multi-region site because the services provided and how we deliver those services differ by Country.

    Is this possible with WPML?

  6. I have bought the whole bundle on lalicenza.it. I have received the Product key but I cannot log into WPML.org in order to active my account. What have I to do?

    • Hello Martin,
We (wpml.org) are the only legal seller (and producer) of the WPML plugins. You need to purchase from this site.

  7. Is this function available in WPML?

I want to translate my site to 3 languages. LV, SWE, FIN
I have purchased 3 versions of my domains and have them.

Whenever customer searches and goes to my site from Finland, he goes to domain.fi, Sweden = domain.se, Latvia = domain.lv

    Is this possible?

  8. Hi there,

I’m representing a food company in Portugal. At the moment we need to have our website translated in 2 languages (English and Spanish).

We are using Gtranslate for almost a year (with 2 domains: one for the original page and other for Spanish version) but unfortunately their plugin it’s presenting serious issues on our checkout in translated versions. When the client it’s on a translated version he can’t do the payment if 3D secure it’s needed on the card payment.

When the client place the order it just go to the home page and the payment doesn’t finish.

Do you know about some similar issues with your plugin?

    Thank you in advance.

    Frederico

    • Hello,
No, there are no such issues with WPML. I assume you use WooCommerce, is this correct? We have many WooCommerce clients who use WPML successfully. Our refunds policy allows you to buy WPML and test it for 30 days. How about if you check it out? You can also use our support assistance during these 30 days.

  9. I’m trying to use PHP’s opcache.preload but it seems that WPML is using a coding pattern that is incompatible with preloading. Namely Lst.php that seems to instantiate the static class after definition. Looking around, this pattern seems to be the cause (https://stackoverflow.com/a/3312881).

    Example stacktrace:

Fatal error: Uncaught BadMethodCallException: Method includes does not exist. in [truncated]/wp-content/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms/vendor/wpml/collect/src/Illuminate/Support/Traits/Macroable.php:52 Stack trace:

Are there any plans on improving compatibility with opcache.preload approaches?

    • Hello Taavi,
We are always working in order to improve our compatibility with OPcache and other cache systems. Checking our logs, I found a similar report that should have been solved a couple of years ago. If you are already a WPML user and you are still experiencing this error, please start a chat in our assistance channel.
      Regards

    • Hello,
This is a technical question that is posted in the pre-sales section so there is little we can do about it from here. Here, we cannot answer your question if we have any plans on improving compatibility with opcache.preload approache because we don’t know what the issue is about. Also, the https://stackoverflow.com/ entires/comments are from 2010 and 2011. Please do the following:
      1. Log into your WPML account
      2. Go to support: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/
      3. Open a ticket explaining your issue:
      – include your debug information (this will allow us to see the versions of the WPML plugin you use, other plugins you use, your WordPress memory, PHP version etc.)
      – describe your issue and what you do to trigger it
      – select the WPML website on which you are experiencing your issue
and someone from our technical team will look into it.
If you don’t have an active WPML subscription, you would need to purchase it before you open a support ticket. Thank you.

    • Hello Irina,

      Best regards

  10. Hi, dear Agnes Bury!
I have a site, my site is language’s English but I needed to translation to language pashto, and Pashto language is one of the languages of Afghanistan. I followed all the instructions to add the Pashto language, but unfortunately, in the Language mapping, the Portuguese language is written in the end, because in the Language mapping list, the Pashto language is not displayed in the list.

    • Can you please provide me with the link to the website of the theme? I need to make sure which theme we are talking about. Thank you.

  11. Hi,

I have a classified website to publish listings. So users can add in the front-end user dashboard listings. I would like to know how it functions in more detail with the translations.

Is it possible that I can choose in WPML only some fields for automatic translations with auto-pilot?

In the edit listing form in the front-end user dashboard are text fields (strings) for bookable and mandatory services. A user can write there for example bed linen or final cleaning or late turn over of keys, airport pick up, etc.

So to do an automatic translation with autopilot for instant translations, only in this before predefined fields, is that possible? And not to do in other parts of the website translations, is that possible in such a manner?

Thank you for your answer in advance 🙂

    Stefan

    • Hello,
Front-end translation is not supported by WPML. If your users add new listing via the front-end, this won’t trigger automatic translations. Can I have the name of your plugin/theme that handles the listings? I will check if we are compatibility with it (but WPML translates your site on the backend).

  12. I build and manage a website with more than 100,000 products. Up until now, I’ve used TranslatePress as my translation plugin, but I consistently encounter speed issues with it. Essentially, I only want to translate UI elements like menus and buttons, leaving all product data untranslated. This way, I can keep the database light and hope to maintain the same speed across three languages, which is very important. Can I easily exclude HTML classes from translation? Will WPML nevertheless create database tables for product data that I don’t want to be translated and inevitable slow down the website?

Thanks for looking into my questions.

    Johan

    • Hello,
WPML creates new product entires in the database only for the products you translate. WPML allows you to leave your products in the original languages and translate only the menu and buttons etc. However, creating new product translations is not the only thing that will impact your site performance. Best would be to test it out, ideally on a copy of your website. Our refund policy allows you to buy WPML and test it for 30 days for free.

  13. The theme is Listeo. Some people from the FB group said that they use WPML and it functions well. Possibly they use it only for the strings, not for automatic translations. I don´t know.

Say a user in the front-end inserts a text like “final cleaning” in a bookable/mandatory individual text field. And then the admin executes for this field the automatic translation in some languages. And then possibly the admin will manually correct the automatic translation to display it correctly after automatic translation.

And then another user inserts in the bookable/mandatory field the same text “final cleaning”. Now this field content will be displayed in other languages correctly, because before the admin has done the automatic translation or has before manual corrected it?

In reasons that on the website will be published many listings, after publishing from a listings it should be display the translations in the different languages automatically. Generally I need only some fields to be translated, the other content should be translated manually.

    Thank you 🙂

    • Hello,
Thank you for providing the name of the theme. Officially, we are not compatible with this theme, which means that it was never tested by our Compatibility Team and that’s why it’s not appearing on our list of themes compatible with WPML.
I can see that some of our clients who use this theme are reporting issues, here are a few examples:
missing content – Image gallery at the top
Listeo Theme – listing map locations not working on ES

WPML supports translating custom fields (WordPress meta fields) and custom post types and that’s why some of the themes and plugins might work fine with WPML even if not tested/adjusted for compatibility with the theme/plugin author. You would need to check it out yourself.

In reasons that on the website will be published many listings, after publishing from a listings it should be display the translations in the different languages automatically.

WPML allows you to translate your content on the backend, which means that whenever a new item is added by the end user, the admin would need to trigger the translation from within the backend. IT won’t happen automatically. The only exception when such manual intervention is not needed is when you use the so-called “Translate Everything Automatically” mode but we don’t know if this mode will work fine with this theme. The chance it will, is slim. This is a listing theme and our experience shows that listing themes require special adjustments and the cooperation between our Compatibility team and the theme authors.

So, I will assume you will have issues using this theme with WPML but if you want to test it yourself, feel free to do so keeping our 30-day refund policy in mind. I hope this helps.

  14. I have a problem with wpml on my website http://www.wineplease.com The main language of my website is Italian. With WPML I created versions of each page in the following languages: English, German, Spanish, French. On all pages I have activated the “translate separately” option so that each page is separate. To translate a language I enter the page of that language and translate it using the editor. However, on the homepage there is a problem because, despite the various languages being separate, every time I make a change to the Italian version, the English version is immediately reset and everything goes back to Italian, as if the change made in Italian reset the English version. The same problem does not occur on any of the other languages. Do you have any idea what I’m doing wrong? THANK YOU SO MUCH

  15. Hi. I have purchased an Multilingual CMS. If I refund that item then is it possible to use free Standalone Version for multicurrency?

  16. Hello; I want to learn something before I buy WPML. Can I use top-level domains for different countries on a single site without using WP Multisite on my e-commerce site?

Ex; domain.com for the global market, domain.co.uk for the UK market and domain.com.tr for the TR market

Because I don’t want to set up a multisite for this and manage separate sites.

    Thank you.

    • Hello,
Yes, WPML allows you to use different domains for diffrent languages while maintaining only one WordPress site/install.
This page explains how to set this up:

  17. I got one letter wrong in my email and bought wpml. Can you help me change it? Now the wrong email is [email edited] the skin is the correct email [email edited]

    • Hello Giorgi,
I have updated your email address in our system and I triggered password resetting. You should get a new email with new credential. Please check your inbox (or the spam) folder.

  18. Hi

How do I decide whether I should opt for “pay as you go” or “prepaid credits”? The total charges I have to pay are very different even when the total words (225,000) and total credits needed (450,000) are the same for me.

    • Hello,
Thank you for your interest in WPML and your questions. The “Pay as you go” option is cheaper. Indeed, to translate 225 000 words you will need 450 000 credits for which you will pay around €197.00 EUR. To use this option you need to provide your card on your WordPress site (WPML > Translation Management > Tools). You can disconnect your card after your payment is done (pay-as-you-go invoices are issued on the 3rd day of the following month) and assign to your site some of the 90 000 credits you receive when buying the Multilingual CMS package. This way, in case you need some additional credits in the future (say, for some translation updates), you still have a way to use automatic translation when your card is no longer available. Of course, you can keep your card assigned all the time and control the credit usage from within the Tools tab. I hope this helps.

  19. Hi

    Thank you for your response.

Also, will WPML translate the downloadable PDFs (datasheets and other sales collateral) on my website?

Also can I apply WPML to my YouTube channel videos? Or do you have any means to translate subtitles on a video?

    Thank you.

    • Hello,
Thank you for your interest in WPML.
No, WPML cannot translate the text of your PDFs files. What you can do instead is upload a translated version of your PDF and attach it to your page/post translated with WPML.
No, you cannot apply WPML to your YouTube channel videos. Please note that YouTube can automatically generate subtitles for English videos and provide an option to translate these subtitles to other languages. First you need to enable subtitles with the icon at the bottom of your YouTube vide and then click on the settings and go to subtitles.
Please note that WPML can translate only WordPress sites and WordPress content. It’s a plugin for WordPress. YouTube content and the content of PDF are considered external resources.
