This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

If you switch to using the Advanced Translation Editor for both new and existing translations, any content previously translated using the Classic Translation Editor will remain visible on the frontend. But, it will not be visible in the Advanced Translation Editor.
To make the translations appear in the Advanced Translation Editor, you can use automatic translation or copy-paste your existing translations.

See more about the options you have when switching from the Classic to Advanced Translation Editor.

Hello!

Translations are missing in the backend after switching to Advanced editor (please see the screenshot attached). We can see them in the front end though (please see another screenshot).

How can a get the translations back to the Advanced editor?

Thank you in advance!

Hi,

Thank you for contacting the support.

If you switch to using the Advanced Translation Editor, any content previously translated using the Classic Translation Editor will not be visible in the Advanced Translation Editor. However, they will still be visible on the site’s front-end. See https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/translation-editor-options/ for details.

You can copy and paste the existing translations from your site’s front-end or click the Translate automatically button in the Advanced Translation Editor to easily add translations.

Read more about switching translation editors at https://wpml.org/faq/why-arent-my-translations-showing/.
