Hi there,

I'm using the WordPress theme "Manufacturer" with Elementor and WPML for the translations. There are a couple of theme elements -Service and Timeline, that can't be translated using the WPML translation editor (the corresponding strings are not detected with this editor) and the only way to do it is by going to the translated page and translate these elements using Elementor.

The problem is that, whenever I update the information in these elements in the original language -Spanish in this case, the translations of the elements -English and French, are lost and replaced by the strings in Spanish.

How can this be fixed?

These are the two elements that have this problem:

Thanks in advance.

Hello there,

Welcome to WPML support forum. While one of my teammates takes care of your case I will provide you with the first debugging steps.

Custom Elementor elements (not the ones included in the plugin but those created by themes or other plugins) need to be integrated with WPML.

Here you have information about how to do it:
https://wpml.org/documentation/support/language-configuration-files/how-to-register-page-builder-widgets-for-translation/

Let us know if it helps.

Hi there,

I talked with the theme authors but they haven't been able to assist me yet.

Can you please help me?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I assume these "translations" are not in fact duplicates?
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/displaying-untranslated-content-on-pages-in-secondary-languages/#how-to-convert-a-translation-into-a-duplicate

And you don't have this there?

Apart from that, you can ask them them to join us here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/

Or try translating these pages like this:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

Because theme and plugin developers should do these implementations themselves:
https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/elementor/how-to-add-wpml-support-to-custom-elementor-widgets/
https://wpml.org/documentation/support/translating-elementor-plugin/

There are 1000s of various widgets out there and it would be impossible for WPML support to accommodate, there are themes that come with 30-40 widget alone, that's why we only support default Elementor and Elementor Pro widgets.

Bruno Kos
