I did everything as told in this forum, but whenever I update WordPress to 6.1 the whole sites starts to break down (hidden areas start to show, some images get small, and a lot more). I contacted Siteground (my hosting), but they also cant help me and they say a lot of others also still have problems. They say we need to wait for WPML to create a new update (I already have the 3.2.3 version and 4.5.12 version).
Do you know when there will be a new update? Or can someone from support maybe enter our site and work on a solution? That would be great.
WPML is becoming a head ache... Had to deactivate/reactivate then register/unregister to get to the updates. Now all the translations are messed up and language switch gone and it seems that wpml is not working. Will have to take yesterdays backup and loose a lot of order statistics. Thanks WPML!
@rashedh-4 the error you are reporting is different to the error we are handling in this thread. Please open a new support thread so that we can give you individual attention about that issue.
You definitely updated to String Translation 3.2.3 and WPML 4.5.12?
If you then receive an error, it must be a different error than that which we are handling in this thread. In which case, please open a new support thread so that we can look into the specifics of your case.
Please share details of the resulting error from your logs if you have them available, thanks.
I'm not sure of the steps you are using, but if you already updated to WP 6.1, be sure to deactivate String Translation before attempting anything else. If needs be, via FTP you can delete the String Translation plugin folder (that doesn't delete any data, just the plugin files).
It should then be safe to use the OTGS Installer: be sure to Check for Updates so that it shows String Translation 3.2.3 is available before attempting to re-install String Translation.
Alternatively, you can download the zip file of String Translation from your accounts page (https://wpml.org/account/downloads/) and manually upload it from the Add New plugins page.
(Note that because of GDPR we cannot email you without permission. If you have previously refused permission for updates and newsletters you can email hello@wpml.org and ask for your email address to be added back to our mailing lists.)
If you did update and you still have errors, these must be different errors than those we are handling in this thread. Please open a new support thread where we can look into the specifics of your issue.
@antoniaa-8 your account has the Multilingual Blog subscription rather than the Multilingual CMS subscription, which does not include String Translation (https://wpml.org/purchase/).
If you do not have the String Translation plugin installed, then you would not be experiencing the error reported in this thread.
If you have some other problems, please open a new support thread where we can investigate, thank you.
@gregord-2 It sounds like you have some problems specific to your site distinct to the error we are handling in this thread.
Could you please open a new support thread describing the issues (we'll probably need access to your site if you can provide credentials) so that we can investigate.
@martinsp-2 if you find problems with your site after successfully updating to the latest plugin versions then can you please open a new support thread so that we can look into the specifics of your case, thank you.
