  2. Hello,
I am trying to buy the Multilingual CMS but when i chose the Paypal payment there is no option to pay with Paypal, only with credit card.
We don’t use credit cards so how can i proceed with the purchase?

    Kind regards,

    • Hello Nuno,
In order to set up a WPML subscription, PayPal requires a credit card to be added to your PayPal account. This does not mean that you need to pay with the credit card because you can select to pay with your PayPal balance, however, PayPal requires that a credit card is associated in order to make sure that it can follow up with the subscription setup. There is no other way to proceed with the purchase.

  4. Hi,
I are planning a woocommerce multilingual website, and your solution seems perfect for the job. We had a few questions before commiting to it.
First, we like to geofence the website urls to proper language, for example, I would like my customers from Arabic countries to see arabic version of the product.

Second, we need to use different shipment companies for different countries, this includes DHL, UPS, Aramex, and a Turkish shipment company. I would like to know, can I choose to show shipment options and prices based on the language/country. For example US customers should see only UPS, and european customers should see DHL. Is it possible at all?

Lastly, I would like to have a manual price entry based on language, is it doable?

    thanks in advance.

    • Hello,
thank you for your interest in WPML and your questions.
      >we like to geofence the website urls to proper language, for example, I would like my customers from Arabic countries to see arabic version of the product.
WPML provides an option (disabled by default) to redirect the visitor to his/her language according to the language he/she has set in her browser. Please note that this option is not necessarily because your multilingual site will get organic traffic from Google and other search engines directly in the user language.

      >can I choose to show shipment options and prices based on the language/country.
No, this is beyond the scope of WPML.

      > I would like to have a manual price entry based on language, is it doable
      Yes, that’s possible.

    • Hello,
I’m not sure if I understand your question. What do you mean by “WPML strings can be distinguished”. What do you mean by “are the strings in the background”? Please add more details.

The WPML’s String Translation plugin allows you to translate various strings. Also, you can choose the language of the admin user who is currently logged-in so they can see the backend in their language.

  5. Hi! I’m just starting as a web developer and I have 2 questions regarding the agency license:

    – what happens if I give back control to my client over their site and stop renewing the license on my end? Will the site stop working?

    – my old license expired quite a while ago, would I still be entitled to upgrade and pay only the difference?

    Thanks a lot for clarifying!

    Best regards,

    Eva

  6. So im a developer and i was wondering if i bought the licenses for unlimited or 3 websites would i be able to put the verification key to different domains ?

lets say my domain is domain1.com

but as im a developer ill be working on the clients domain. would i be able to install the plugin with my verification key?

    • Hello,
you can use one key for one domain and our system won’t let you use the same key for more than one domain. But you can unregister your domain anytime and register a new one in its place (= generate a new key) and you can do it as many times as you want but with the CMS package you won’t be able to have more than 3 domains registered in the same time.

  7. I have a link for the WMPL as follows, used by my previous provider that built my website:

    https://wpml.org/purchase/?add-to-cart=5513631&token=FvX0miOKyc&client=7f65651a413cf4d36f5e8b4b6b9963d2
Via that link the fee is $39 instead of $79 and is valid for my domain http://www.yolandejimenez.com.

However because of a lot of problems with the updates, we like to built a new website in a subdomain. And when ready, to transfer the subdomain to the http://www.yolandejimenez.com and delete the old website. So the subdomain is used temporarely.
Can I use the license of $39 for http://www.yolandejimenez.com and also for the subdomain at the same time? And how can we arrange that?
Or am I forced to buy a license of $79 ?

    Thanks!
    Kind regards,
    Yolande Jimenez

    • Hello,
for now, users who translated their licenses cannot switch the domain to use the same key but our developers are working on making it possible. It would be ready soon (maybe in a week, don’t know exactly). What you can do now, please use your WPML plugin on your subdomain with registration.

  8. I have a them called Mesmerize, by Extend Themes. They recommend WPML as the WPML plugin. And they also have instructions for how to install.
However, I can’t find WPML in the new plugin area. Only WPML for WooCommerce. I need the CMS plugin
Have you removed it from WordPress Plugin area?

    • Hello Randi,
WPML is a paid plugin. You need to buy it from this site, then go to log into your WPML, go to the Download section, download the plugin and go to your WP site (Plugins -> Add new) and upload it as the zip. You need the “Multilingual CMS” package: https://wpml.org/purchase/

  9. I have bought Multilingual CMS before and I like to buy Multilingual Agency now. What is the price for switching from CMS to Agency?

    • Hello,
our system will calculate the new price according to what you have already paid and the difference between those two packages. Please log in to your WPML account and proceed with the upgrade when being logged in.

  10. Hello,

i am thinking to buy the unlimited license. Before that i would like to confirm if the wpml

plugin is compatible with “Add Category to Pages” plugin.

    Thank you in advance.

    • Hello,
Thank you for your interest in WPML. The “Add Category to Pages” hasn’t been tested by our team and we don’t know how it will work with WPML. We don’t have any customers reporting compatibility issues so there is a good chance it will work fine. You can buy WPML and test it yourself and request a refund in case you are not fully satisfied. You will have 30 days to do so.

  11. I just purchased the Blog package but i couldn’t download the link since all i received in my downloads page is BuddyPress Multilingual. I installed it as a plugin in my CMS and it says in the documentation that I should first download the WPML. Well how can this be done? Is it a rip off? I don’t understand. Please I need assistance right away!

    • Hello Samar,
Thanks for your interest. This is because the 2 transactions failed. We have not charged you for any of them (one is failed and the other pending payment, it will not be charged either). You will need to log in to the account and start the payment again.

      Kind regards,

  12. I cancelled my previous subscription, but cannot buy a new one!!! You again and again are bringing me to old subscription. Please, change that!

  13. Hi,

I’d like to have the language switch display countries instead of languages.
As some countries share the same language and (mostly or completely) identical content, like Germany, Austria and Swiss, I’d like the switch to link to the same content when I switch to one of them.
Is it possible to do that with WPML?
What is especially important to me is, that I don’t need to copy/translate every page in the same language (and then end up with 3x the same page in German, once assigned to Germany, once to Austria and once to Swiss). Can you assign one page or one translation (however WPML thinks/phrases this) to several languages at once?

  14. Hi there, I have a WordPress site operating on a Divi theme. I only have 1 website that needs to be bi-lingual. My questions are:

    – Current website is Dutch and I would like to add English. Does WPML support this?
    – Is it plug&play and can build the site in 2 languages myself?
(I have a plugin for the shop similar to Shopify which already supports multiple languages, so it’s only for the general pages)

I need to keep costs down as we are social enterprise with the aim to showcase the special talents of children with autism. Our profit will go to the Autism fund, so I would like to get the most affordable option which still gives me the functionality I need.

Can you advise me which plan to get and if I can program everything myself (I’m quite handy with WordPress and my theme Divi).

    Best,

    Jantien

    • Hello,
thank you for your interest in WPML.
Yes, you can create a multilingual site in English and Dutch.
      Yes, WPML works with Divi.
I’m not sure what exactly you mean by “plug&play” but if you expect your site to be translated automatically after installing WPML, the answer is no, it won’t happen. You need to translate your content yourself. WPML also provides machine translations if you decide to enable the ATE editor. You can read more about it here .

      >I have a plugin for the shop similar to Shopify
Please check if this plugin has been tested by our Compatibility Team.
      https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/

I’m sorry but we don’t have any special offers/discounts for anyone. If you plan to use WPML with Divi, the Multilingual CMS package is needed.

  15. Hi Agnes,

Me again. Sorry, reached the limit for replies again so I’m opening a new comment.

But to follow up, yes, perhaps you may ask your team if there’s a support-only subscription instead for users like me. After all, when I got this from my developer, I was told that I’ll have lifetime updates and support directly from WPML.

Whilst I understand that I’m just a sub account in his WPML lifetime subscription, it sucks to lose support due to changes in your business practices. I’m fine with paying $39 for a year of support if I have to but I don’t wish to lose my lifetime updates over this.

Will that be possible? Thank you

    • Hello Callie,
I see. So there must have been a misunderstanding then. I had a look both at our announcement post and the documentation about transferring and I didn’t find anything that would mention that. I also checked it here internally and we don’t have plans to offer lifetime updates and paid support. At least not for now. So in your case, the best choice seems to be not to transfer.

      • Hi Agnes,

Please take a look at this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vvAyCg1mLZ6D-ZSIWyrnN8J8LAhDr0zP/view?usp=drivesdk

But seeing that I’m just an End user account holder and not the main license holder, my question now is, how do I get access to support?

“the best choice seems to be not to transfer” doesn’t solve my problem. My problem is, how do I access to support when I need help?

If agreeable by your management, the simplest way is for me to transfer just one domain over but support extends to my other domains as per what I outlined here: https://imgur.com/a/u1zUHG6

I think it’s a fair compromise seeing that WPML still gets paid for support but at the same time, I don’t end up losing lifetime updates for ALL my accounts.

Can you please find out if this is acceptable by your management?

If not, can you suggest a solution that will gain my access to support yet doesn’t require me to give up lifetime updates for all my accounts?

        Thank you

          • Initially, I was able to setup an account on WPML support forum to gain access to support. That was maybe 3-4 years ago?

Then about 1-2 years ago, when I tried to access the technical support forum, I was unable to. At that time, Otto (your colleague) told me that mine is an end user account so in order to get access to technical support, I need to ask my developer (the main license account holder) to reply in the support ticket stating that he gives Otto permission to provide support to my site directly.

            This was the message:
“Yes, Blog license will give you access to the technical forum. It’s in a grey zone, but it will work.

Yes again, each end user ticket that ends up being a technical issue needs the participation of the developer (license owner).”

But it’s very inconvenient and it’s not as though I have technical issues all the time. Just some troubleshooting when updates don’t work properly.

Hence, as an end user (lifetime) account holder, I just wish to get access to technical support easily.

Your team may wish to consider the business model of CodeCanyon. When you buy a plugin on codecanyon, you get lifetime updates and 6 months support. Thereafter, if you wish to extend support, you can buy a 6 to 12 months access to support anytime at a discounted rate (in my experience, it’s usually less than $30 for extension of support).

That way, your existing customers who are lifetime end user account holders like me don’t lose their lifetime updates but get support whenever they need.

At the same time, your team still gets paid for support.

Please let me know if your team is agreeable to a compromise like this. I’ll be waiting here. Thanks Agnes!

            • Thank you Callie, I understand your case.
I’ve passed your message to our management. We’ll keep you posted.

              • Thanks Agnes, I’ll be waiting.

Thank you so much for your help and patience. I really appreciate your understanding and hope your team will be able to come up with a reasonable solution to this problem 🙂

Please please please do remember to keep me updated either via email or by replying to this thread! When do you think you may have an answer? Any time estimate?

                • Hello Callie,
I have an update for you. Our decision is to sell support along with our plugin updates because our data show that any other business model proves to be sustainable for us. So if you paying $59 per year for 3 domains is an option for you, you might consider buying the Multilingual CMS package – you will pay $79 for the first year and $59 for upcoming years.

  16. Hello, I am working on a page that I created two years ago, as a multi-language plugin use Q translater X, now I want to update it to a better plugin. The site has more than 300 posts, therefore I require a language migration process, my question is: with the WPML plugin can I do this language migration, that is, from Qtranlater X to Wpml?

  17. Hi, my previous agency has built this website using WPML plugin. However, when we took the website back, the website can’t be amended and it shows the error “WPML CMS Navigation is enabled but not effective. It requires WPML in order to work.”

Can I check does this means that we have to repurchase the plugin for us to edit the website again?

    • Hello Kellyn,
Yuu require an active subscription in order to receive upjdates. What is the url where WPML is installed?

      Thanks,

  18. Hi there,

It is not a presale question, but do not really now, where to ask it?

I received the last invoice for the regular 1 year license, but there is a kind of mistake, as my business is registered in the UE in order to not pay the intra-Community VAT and you have added to my bill. Although, in others invoice you haven`t. How can I get the particular VAT money back or at least clarify for next invoices. Thanks in advance

  19. Hi
I have a blog and shop in one website Would like to know which plan I need to download as I only need to add one language in total I will have 2 languages ( english and arabic ) . If I download blog plan and later I want to update is it possible?

    • Hello Mina,
To translate your woocommerce site you will need the CMS version. In any case you can upgrade later on for the difference only.

      Kind regards,

    • Hello Cameron,
I am afraid we have stopped supporting non-profits for now. We continue to support the existing ones in our system but we cannot take new ones. You are welcome to buy WPML and try it for 30 days. If it does not suit your needs we will refund you https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

      Hope this helps!

  20. Hello,

I am hoping to add WPML to my site.

My concern is that the site’s theme uses a specific editing plugin called Blueprint.

Do you know if WPML can work with Blueprint?

    Thank you,
    Kira

  21. Hi,

I’m looking to translate my site into German.

I have a different feed from my supplier for the German products with it’s own description.

I would like to know what setup I should use on WP, Woo and WPML so that the products remain different for German customers, but the design remains the same and translation also happens.

    Thanks

        • I apologize for the confusion. 🙂
Yes, WooCommerce Multilingual is a WPML add-on which is needed in order to make your WooCommece shop multilingual. You will also need:
          – WPML
          – WPML Translation Management.
          – WPML String Translation.
          – WPML Media Translation.

  22. Hi,
We are evaluating different translation solutions and I have a question for which I cannot find an answer.
If we use the automatic translation service, how is the billing calculated? Do you count the number of words newly translated each month or the total of translated words even if translated previsouly.
How about if we decide to cancel the subscription? Do we get to keep the translations or are they removed?
    thank you for your answer.

    • Hi Nicolas,
Once a word is translated it remains as part of the translated site, it does not need to be re-translated. If you cancl the subscription you can also keep whatever you have installed/done on your site.

      Kind regards,
