  1. Hi there, I hope you are well.

Our site will have Eng £ (.co.uk) , Eng € (.ie) Eng $ (.us) Ital (.ie) and Arabic (.ae)

We need to set up multiple prices dependent on currency and geolocation. Is this possible using WPML?

Also, how does the Arabic style as it runs from right to left rather than left to right.

What package would we need Multilingual CMS or Multilingual agency?

    Cheers

    John

P.S Sorry if you have received this already but it doesn’t let you know if it’s been received or not.

  2. Hi dear WPML team!

I want to purchase a year license 99$ but in the checkout process the form is trying to bill me IVA, my company is in Canary Islands and it is charged just the IGIC 7% if your company has residence in Canary, if else, there would not be necessary to bill taxes as the European and Spanish tax laws remarks.

Can you help me with this?

    Best regards

    • Hello Javier,
Yes, are you planning to use this email address for the purchase?
I will create an account for you so that you can purchase VAT-free and email you the credentials.

      Waiting for your reply

  3. Hello,

we stopped working with our developer and he has the account and license key for WPML. WPML doesn’t let me update now, I suppose because I changed the site from www to https. After I update to the new WP version I get an error for the whole site. If I buy a license now, how do I install it, without losing everything?

    Thank you!

    • Hello,
You can buy a new subscription and register the new url. Everything will keep working normally while you do this and you will not lose any WPML settings.

      Kind regards,

    • You don’t need to because your plugins will continue working even if you cancel your subscription but it’s good to keep your plugins updated.

  4. Hi Mercedes, thanks for getting back to me and clarifying. Can you recommend a geolocation plugin to use with WPML please?

    Cheers

    John

  5. I want to purchase the Multilingual CMS. Do I need to pay every year for renewal? If I don’t pay what exactly will I lose?

  6. Hello … I’d like to use WPML for the following scenrio.

Primary WP Site will be under the subdomain – fr.somedomain.com (For french)

We’ll then have 4 further sub domains for the other languages

    es.somedomain.com
    de.somedomain.com
    it.somedomain.com
    gr.somedomain.com

All the content will be managed from the primary domain fr.somedomain.com

Is this possible? if so, which type of WPML Licence will I require.

    Thank you

  7. Hi there –

We had purchased WPML for a client back in 2018. The client used the plugin for a couple of years, but stopping using it as of 2020. We were not aware that we were getting auto-billed (no email was ever sent about this). I logged into my account today and while the original transaction says “pending”, we checked on our credit card bill and we have been getting charged every year since. It seems we were just charged again on November 18. Could we please request a refund for the years we have not been using the plugin (2021 – 2022)? Since I had clicked “cancel” on the transaction in my account, it seems I can not place this ticket in the support forum. Hoping you can help me out.

    Thanks

    • Hello,
when I’m checking your WPML account (using the email address you posted this comment with) I’m getting “This user has no subscriptions for this status.” Did you contact us about you case in some other way?

  8. Hi Agnes,

Earlier today I cancelled the subscription BEFORE placing an actual support ticket. I didn’t realize that I wouldn’t be able to place a support ticket after I cancelled the subscription (knee-jerk reaction after seeing the charge on our billing statement).

    Thanks,
    Sherry

    • Hello,
Thanks for your purchase. I have fixed the address and sent you a password reset link.
Please make sure to check your spam folder and confirm.

If you did not receive it, you can also request a new password here  Lost My Password – WPML

      kind regards,

    • Sure Javier. I have set up the account for you and set you a password reset link.
You can log in and purchase VAT-free at your convenience.

  9. If we transfer a license from a Multilingual CMS plan or an Agency plan to the client for renewal will they still have access to the Automated Translations etc at $39 a year rather than the the lack of Automated Translations, Page Builder support etc?

    • Hi!
Yes, if you transfer the renewal payment to your client from your CMS or Agency subscriptino, they will have exactly the same features as they have now (including automcaitc translation, Page builder support, etc)

      Kind regards,

  10. I need to get the plugin now to translate the site but later on I will need to transfer the site to a different domain, is this going to make a problem with the registration of the plugin?

    Thank you.

    • Hello,
no, it won’t be a problem with the registration because you can register and unregister the site at anytime as many times as you need (as long as your WPML subscription/account is active).

  11. Hello, I have a doubt. My website, the original language is Spanish. I am interested in the automated translation service. The website has about 2,500 pages, and weekly several pages are created, say about 50.

I am interested in translating the website into about 18 languages with this automated translation service. Could you tell me the cost of this? I don’t quite understand the rates.

    Thank you!

    • Hello,
please use the interactive calculator we provide on this page:
      https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing
Click on the How much does automatic translation cost? title in the Frequently Asked Questions section.
The more you translate, the less you pay per translation credits.
Also, because the translation memory is used you don’t pay again for already translated phrases so in practice you will pay even less than the calculator show.
If you have any other questions, please let me know.
If I were you, I would first translate your site to only one language and then would add other languages gradually.
Processing 2500 might take several minutes.

  12. Hello,

I want to purchases the plugin and i have already PayPal account but when i want to pay by clicking PayPal asking for a new bank or credit account. I have already so why is not working ?

My bank account and credit card is connected with my PayPal but is not working is there any other way to pay ?

    • Hello, you can also use your credit card directly. On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.

  13. Please consider you pricing structure for websites like ours that have over 650 pages. It’s quite “insane” to expect $10,000+ in credits to translate our website when there are alternative plugins that will do this for free after paying to subscribe.

Am i missing something or is this really how the plug-in works? It’s a shame, because WPML is our preferred plug-in of choice, but simply infeasible. I was hoping for some sort of “lower quality free auto translate service” or a flat fee $500 CAP per language – considering the fact the API is Pennie’s to translate and WPML makes most the bank from this business model

Can you please clarify if I am correct to conclude that the only way to translate 650+ pages is to purchase credits, and spend $10,000+ lol?

    • Hello,
I wonder… How did you come up with this number/estimate – $10,000 for 650 pages?
Let’s say you have an average of 500 words per page. Then 500×650 pages = 325 000.
So let me put this number into our calculator and I’m getting $257.00 USD (provided I want to translate it to one language) using DeepL or Google Translate. If you decide to go with Microsoft, you will pay $152.00 USD. In practice, you will pay even less because translation memory will be used and you pay only for new phrases.

Please use the calculator we provide on this page:
      https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/
in the How much does automatic translation cost? section of the FAQ part.

Please compare our pricing with https://weglot.com/pricing/
Please note that with WPML you pay only once for already translated content, it doesn’t matter how many times the translated page is viewed, we won’t charge you again because your translations are saved in your database.

      You say:

when there are alternative plugins that will do this for free after paying to subscribe.

Often what looks for free is not. I wonder what are these alternative plugins that allow you to translate for free. We track our competitors are we know we offer competetive prices.

  14. Could you share with me a link where I can check your current Security Policy, please? Do you have WPML’s compliance with SOC 2 or GDPR standards? or something like that?

    Thank in advance

  15. I have upgrade my website to PHP 8.1, WordPress 6.1.1 – no changes to content. Now my website says “There has been a critical error on this website.” My hosting company says it due to WPML ? Is that correct and how do I fix it?

    • Hello, yes, might be. WordPress 6.1 introduced a change that conflicts with older WPML versions. Updating to the recent version of WPML plugins should help. You need to update both the core plugin of WPML and the String Translation plugin:

      • WPML Multilingual CMS – 4.5.14
      • String Translation – 3.2.3
    • Hello,
when you buy the CMS package you will get 12 “slots” to register sites: 3 for production websites and 9 for development websites.
You can use one key only for one site/domain.

But you can delete a key and then generate a new one if needed in its place.

  16. Most of our pages do in fact have more than 500 words, of non similar content. Now that the scan is complete, I see we actually have 2,500+ different pages on our website, we also would like to offer 10+ languages; equalling thousands of dollars undoubtably.

Here is a plugin that translates my website in every single language in less than a day for absolutely free: https://transposh.org/

This is the plugin we are migrating from. Of course, hands down, your plugin has more features in comparison and a better UI – but that is not worth the price jump

Then all of your “competitors” offer a Non-Credit based system. Meaning yes, you pay the $100-$299/yr, but at least you are guaranteed to translate your entire website. This is now what we are forced to migrate to. TranslatePress or MultilingualPress are another 2 examples of much more affordable options.

The pricing structure is sadly biased for small business, for websites as large as ours it becomes 100% unfeasible to translate with your variable credit rate.

It would be amazing if we could work something out internally in comparison to other companies. I understand this is a profitable business model you have created and you are selling convenience, but let me create my own GTranslate API and the translations can bill be directly? There becomes a “point” where a website is so large you are expecting 4 or 5 figures to translate an entire website.

    • Thank you for all the details. Yes, both TranslatePress and MultilingualPress allow you to use Google Translate and DeepL API keys but please note that translating through these APIs is not free. For example, please check this page: https://www.wpautotranslate.com/wordpress-plugin/autotranslate-multilingualpress/ and you will see that it reads: “It has a monthly base rate of € 4.99 per month. It does not offer any free packages. The pay-per-use system is € 20.00 per million characters.” for DeepL and “There is no fixed monthly fee. Offers 500K (500,000) free characters per month. The pay-as-you-go system is $ 20.00 per million characters.” for Google Translate. WPML also uses APIs from these translation engines but we have a special layer built on top of these to handle proper text formatting and internal links translations and the ability to edit these translations through a translation editor. Currently, we don’t have any special offers for clients with large sites but I will pass over this matter to our management. Implementing special pricing for clients with huge websites won’t happen overnight so if you plan to use TranslatePress or MultilingualPress now, you are welcome to do so.
