  1. I am sorry to post this issue here but I am locked out of my account and I cannot find any other way to reach WPML. Please help! The email linked to this account no longer exists and we did not pay with PayPal. Thank you. Annemieke

    • Hello,
I checked the email you used to post this comment and there is no WPML associated with this email address. But when checking the website you provided it turns out to be registered with an email address that belongs to someone named Chris with the same email domain as the one in your email address. I’m sorry but I cannot share more details because this is private data. You can use that other email to reset your password: https://wpml.org/account/lost-my-password/ Help me know if that helps.

  2. I am sorry to post this issue here but I am locked out of my account and I cannot find any other way to reach WPML. Please help! The email linked to this account no longer exists and we did not pay with PayPal. Thank you. Annemieke. I’d start a chat session or open a ticket but I have to be logged in for that.

    • Your previous comment was awaiting moderation. I have just replied. Indeed the WPML account associated with the email address (of Chris) I mentioned in my previous comment was purchased using the Stripe service (payment by card, not PayPal).

  3. I purchased WPML a few years ago and I only use it on 3 of my 20+ sites. The license I purchase was pricey because it was a lifetime license. Now it says I have ZERO CREDITS! What the hell is that???? My WPML is a lifetime license! Now, I can not use this plugin on my sites because it is forcing me to buy credit otherwise the plugin fails. Before I was able to Register WPML on my site using a Site Key and I was able to login to WPML and add/remote sites from my Site Key list. EXPLAIN what is going on? I do not care if you have change your system since I see also you have a new methodology to upgrade/install using a plugin called “OTGS Installer”, you have to HONOR old customers (5 years customer here) and keep the lifetime feature. Please act as soon as possible as I have these 3 customers and I can not use the plugin because it is failing. Other than that, I have the right for the money I paid to upgrade the WPML plugin as many times I need any time a new upgrade is available. Please help.

    • Hello Victor,
nothing has changed for our Lifetime users. You can still use WPML on an unlimited number of websites. WPML isn’t forcing you to buy credits. Buying credits is optional only to speed up the translation process. Morover, you can disable the advanced translation editor entirely and use WPML “the old” way. To do so please pick any page for editing and then disable the WPML’s editor on the right-hand sidebar at the edit screen as explained here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/#how-to-use-manual-translation.

Before I was able to Register WPML on my site using a Site Key and I was able to login to WPML and add/remote sites from my Site Key list.

That’s still possible. I just tested it. Please log in and check https://wpml.org/account/sites/ If it doesn’t happen/work please open a ticket at our support forum and we will look into it. But I just checked on my account

You don’t need to use the “OTGS Installer” plugin either. You can upload the normal WPML Multilingual CMS plugin and it will work the same (on your WordPress site please go to Plugins > Add new > Commercial tab).

If your plugin is failing we need to understand why. I don’t know what you mean by “failing”. I have checked the recent site you registered and it uses WPML and the site is up and running. If indeed you have issues with WPML on any of your websites, please open a support ticket and our technical experts will help you to solve your issue.

I hope this help. Feel free to ask me any follow-up questions.

  4. Hi Team,
Is there a way we can move data from PolyLang to WPML. Is there an option to have both the plugins in one WordPress account for one website?

    Syed Imaduddin

    • Hello,
Can I ask you for your reason why you are considering quitting Polylang and switching to WPML? I’d like to make sure WPML will meet your requirements.
      You have the following options:
      1. You can use the migration plugin https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/migrate-polylang-wpml/ but this plugin hasn’t been updated for a long time and you would need to test it on a copy of your site.
      2. You can translate your site again using WPML’s automatic translations (we use DeepL and Google Translate)
No, you cannot use both Polylang and WPML.

  5. Hello Support,

I’m considering to buy the Multilingual CMS, I have 2 clients that want to translate their stores. However, I would like to know if I can transfer to each one their licenses afterwards, for the future annual renewal to be managed by them. I’ve read the documentation about this issue (https://wpml.org/purchase/transferring-account-renewals-to-your-clients/) but it’s no clear if a client with a WooCommerce store can have their own license for only 1 domain or if each one needs a Multilingual CMS license.

    Thank you for your help.

    • Hello,
Each of the clients you transfer to needs to pay for the account. This is gonna be the so-called “User account”. In other words, you need to transfer the payment for each of your clients separately. Of course, they can also buy the Multilingual CMS for their own if needed but this option is more expensive. I hope it answers your questions.

    • Yes, each one will pay $39 for the yearly renewal (instead of $99), this site will have all the WPML plugins that support WooCommerce features.

  6. Hi Agnes, this does not help because as I explained (Chris’s email has been edited) is no longer active. Chris left ContextWest years ago. The credit card you are charging is in my name and I am the Operations Manager at ContextWest. Please assist me in accessing the account. Thank you. Annemieke.

    • Now I understand. Let me contact you privately to sort this out. You will see an email from me in a few minutes.

  7. I understand that WPML is the only plugin through which we can connect to an external Translation Management system such as Matecat, XTM etc. We very much wish to stay in that echo system and that is why we wish to consider WPML and convert the content from PolyLang to WPML.

How does the Plugin work, should we only have PolyLang activated in our WordPress instance and call WPML from there?

    Many thanks in advance

  8. My client is a charity providing free legal support to women living in poverty. They originally had plans to translate large portions of their site but to date only have a few pages in Spanish. As the site was launched some years ago the WPML plugins are out of date and I am concerned about potential vulnerabilities. I was wondering if you offer any discounts to charities and what the most cost-effective way for me to subscribe them? Although I am an agency we are no longer taking on projects so a multi-licence is of no use to me. Many thanks.

  9. Hello, we want to purchase WPML to do transition and automatic translation(with Google translator service). However, we don’t use wordpress’ headless Atlas offering. Does WPML work the same with Atlas as it does with the default WordPress instance?

    • Hello Andrew,
WPML is a WordPress plugin and as such only works with WordPress sites.
      Thanks for your interest, though.

      Kind regards,

  10. Hello Mercedes. I very much appreciate your quick reply. I just want to ask two follow up questions to see if there is a way we can work together, we have many WordPress sites(using Atlas) that we would like to purchase your service for.

1.) Have you heard of Atlas or heard of anyone else requesting it with WPML?
2.) Does WPML do the translation BEFORE sending the text content to the WordPress website?

    • Hello Andrew,
      1. No, we haven’t heard about Atlas. As Mercedes explained WPML is a sets of plugins for WordPress sites.
      2. WPML uses Google Translate and DeepL’s API to translate your WordPress site. As a WordPress user, you get the impression it translates directly on your site. It happens when you open your WordPress page/post for editing and click “Translate automatically” button or you can also do it in bulk for multiple pages.

  11. Hi, how do the language credits work? And is the fee monthly or yearly?

My site has over 450,000 words and I’d like a recommendation to be able to translate it into 3 different languages. Thanks

    • Hello Eddy,
we provide two ways for paying for credits:
      1. You buy credits “in advance” and assign them to your site. We also give you 90 000 credits for free (1 word = 2 credits) when you buy WPML.
      2. Pay-as-you-go – here you provide your credit card and pay for the credits used. You will get a monthly invoice for this provided you had something new to translate.
In both cases the translations are permanent, meaning you translate your content only once and you will need more credits only for the sentences that have been changed (updated).
To translate 450,000 words with Pays-as-you-go to 3 other languages you would need to spend $812.00 USD. Please use this calculator:
      https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/#how-automatic-translation-works-lnk
You can read more about the pricing models on that page.

  12. i want to purchase the plugin but do not want to keep the auto renew enabled. i want to renew the plugin manually after a year.. is that possible? the reason being international card payments process is strict in our country and hence we normally keep it turned off

  13. I want to know is it possible to translate my site all teslxt in brazillian Portuguese language?

Also, let me know which plan is better for my single domain website.

    • Hello,
yes, automatic translations are supported for Brazilian Portuguese:
      https://ate.wpml.org/mt_langs
I’m not sure if your whole website will be translated. WPML can translate the content of pages and post automatically but there might be some items on your site (especially coming from 3rd party plugins that you need to translate manually).
If you could share the link to your site and tell me more about the plugins you use, I can provide you with more details.

  14. Hello, I have a wordpress site and I need a plugin to change the language from Bulgarian to Romanian, Greek and English. When I change the language, I want it to change and the price of the one in the country, which package will work for me. Please give me an opinion.

    • Hello,
you mention prices so I think your site represents a WooCommerce store, is this correct? In this case, you will need the CMS package ($99).
Hint: when setting up your WPML site please add only one language at first or select “Translate what you choose” mode and then use the in-bulk translation for the pages and products you want. Many online stores have long policies and terms of use pages and when clients are adding too many languages at once they are surprised that all the free credits (90 000) were used.

  15. We are a community college in Pennsylvania and are interested in purchasing WPML. Being a community college we are tax-exempt, could you please provide me with the procedure to submit our tax-exempt form and purchase your product?
    Thanks

  16. Hi – We are interested in purchasing credits for the translation capabilities for wordpress. As a part of multilingual agency I see 180,000 translation credits. I would like to understand on how we can keep track of this number and what happens if we want to purchase more credits within the year

Can i someone reach out so we can make the appropriate purchases

    Thanks,
    Umashankar

  17. Hello, I am working with a partner who is a paying member for WPML. I don’t have access to their account so I am asking my question here.

I am following your support guide to use automatic translation:
https://ibb.co/QjyPnt1 (image is taking from this URL https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/)

However, when I go to the same screen on my WordPress instance, the red box from the image above is not showing:
    https://ibb.co/9YY4g8K
I don’t have the choice to select:
“How do you want to translate? Translate Automatically”

We need the ability to bulk select and choose “translate automatically” since we have a large amount of pages/posts.
    Can you please help?

  18. Hi,

Can you please guide me, how to setup WPML plugin on localhost with plan ‘Multilingual CMS’ with 3 production and 9 development websites feature.

For staging server i can generate registration key, but for localhost which path is http://localhost/ how can i run it here.
9 development – please elaborate ? does it include localhost also ? If i want install on 3 developers machine locally and one staging server .

    Thanks,
    Aparna

    • Hello,
when you register your WPML site you can select either Development or Production. It can be any site, localhost included. http://localhost/ will work too. The only difference between Development and Production is that sites registered as Development will have a banner added to your site footer indicating this is a Development site. Also on your admin backend you will see a similar notification. You can register and unregister your sites as many times as you want.

  19. Hello,
We’re planning to buy the wpml pro version with 99$.

We are a travel agency in Greece and we have one domain (mideast.gr) and 4 subdomains (e.g. business.mideast.gr).

Is the pro version ok for 4 subdomains and 1 main domain?

    • You need a separate key for each WordPress installation. If you have 4 different WordPress instances on each of your subdomains, you will need 4 keys.

  20. Dear Polylang,

we want to create a user generated content website with multilanguage feature.
When our users will upload their projects to our website like a “Subscriber” in the frontend we want to provide the possibilities of two language post upload.
    This is the site:
    https://epitechture.hu/szakemberek/
    “Szakember” will upload the posts.
This feature isn’t exist now on website.
We want to create with CrocoBlock plugin.
We don’t know how it is possible to create one user gen content in two langauge.
Is it possible with your plugin or not?

    Regards,
    Attila

    • Hello,
we are not Polylang but WPML, I’m not sure if your questions were supposed to be asked here. But let me answer. What you are trying to achieve might not be possible because WPML translates the content that is available on the backend and in your case, it seems to be front-end content. Such solutions in most cases require special handling and the chance it will work is slim I’m afraid.

  21. We have 5 different WordPress installations. 1 for the main domain and 1 for each subdomain, 5 in total.
What do you suggest me to do. Buy 1 blog subscription for each installations or do you suggest me to buy something different, 1 cms and 2 blog for example or 1 agency?

    • The Blog package doesn’t support machine translations at all. You can buy the CMS package and upgrade to the Agency package later for the difference in the purchase price. So I would suggest the CMP package.

  23. Hello, I followed your guide to upgrade to WPML 4.6 so that way we can get the new bulk auto translate feature
    https://ibb.co/51B8gw5

However, we I go to the translation management page and select some pages, there is no option to select language actions at all, it’s a blank area.
Below “2.) Select translation options” is empty. There used to be a list of language options there, but after upgrading to 4.6 it’s empty/blank.
    See image for explanation: https://ibb.co/Fn9HnkJ

Sorry for posting this here in the pre-sales, I don’t have access to the client’s account to ask this in your internal support section. I appreciate your help.

    • Hello Andrew,
I am sorry for this. Please ask your client for their WPML credentials.
I am afraid the technical forum is exclusive to our clients. If you updated to WPML 4.6, it means they have an active subscription and they can access the forum.

      Kind regards,

  24. Hello!

We have a multilingual site where the WPML plugin is currently installed but our subscription isn’t currently active. We’re trying to find out why Google isn’t recognizing our translated pages and we’re curious if we have to have an active license for the hreflang links to work. Since WPML automatically adds that for us, I’m not sure if it will still work if the license for WPML has lapsed. I checked our source code and noticed that the hreflang links are there but they’re not inside the tags even though ‘as early as possible’ is selected in the WPML plugin.

    • Hello Theresa,
thank you for your questions. If you share the link to your website with me I will check its status in our system and can tell you more about it. Even if your site is currently registered with another email address (WPML subscription) you can always unregister it and register again with your account. If your subscription isn’t active you can always renew it by logging into your old WPML account and purchasing WPML again. If you provide me the link to your website I can check the hreflang links. Does you website include the language switcher (best in the header) and/or a sitemap? Both could help Google bots to index your site.
