How do I make a refund and upgrade to the Agency package? When I click on “Upgrade your account” a window opens with a surcharge.
my first question of June 2, 2023 at 7:44 pm
Hello, what is the amount you see after clicking on the “Upgrade your account” button? The Agency package is more expensive than the CMS package and our system calculates the difference between your existing account and the one you want to upgrade to. You can send us a direct email about your issues: https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/ – it will go directly to the person who can help you upgrade properly.
My site is getting errors at the top like
• Deprecated: The each() function is deprecated. This message will be suppressed on further calls in /home/xxxx/public_html/xxxxx/wp-content/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms/lib/dqml2tree.php on line 475
• Deprecated: Function get_magic_quotes_gpc() is deprecated in /home/xxxx/public_html/xxxxx/wp-content/plugins/wpml-string-translation/inc/functions.php on line 25
1) Are these because the site is running version 3.9.1 of the WPML Multilingual CMS?
2) And secondly, it looks like my WPML account is expired and I am being prompted to purchase an account again for $99. Is this required in order to update to the most recent version of WPML, and are there follow on yearly costs associated with that?
3) And thirdly, I notice that the recommended way to update the plugin on WordPress is to DELETE the old version and upload the new version. However we have put in manual translations for all of our pages. If we delete the plugin, won’t we lose our manual translations?
I am asking here because I don’t want to spend $99++ only to break all of our existing manual translations.
Hello,
WPML 3.9.1 is a very old version and it won’t work properly with the recent WordPress version.
Updating WPML should solve your issues.
Yes, you need to purchase again. We don’t provide updates for free. Renewals are optional but if you decide to renew WPML next year, you will pay $74 for each next year.
You won’t lose your existing translations even if you delete WPML and then install it again. This is because translation are kept in the database and deactivating WPML doesn’t delete translations. But before installing or updating WPML, please open a ticket in our support forum and ask for help. Explain to them what you just wrote to me. Updating from a very old version might be tricky and our technical experts will help you do this properly.
So this order:
1. Buy WPML
2. Log into your wppml.org
3. Go to the support and explain that you want to update https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/
4. Follow the instructions our supporters give you
One more thing, if you already have your existing WPML account, you can log into the account before buying – this way you can keep your old email address.
1) It looks like my WPML account is expired and I am being prompted to purchase an account again for $99. Is this required in order to update to the most recent version of WPML, and are there follow-on yearly costs associated with that? I didn’t even realize that my previous purchase “expired” I thought it was a 1x cost.

Your previous comment was awaiting moderation. I have just replied. Please ream my previous replies. I can see that you still has your old WPML account so best would be to log into this account first and then buy WPML. It will allow you to buy with the old email address.
Current payment method is bound to personal bank credit card which will automatically deduct money from personal credit card.
Can we change to bill and pay method?
That means you send us a bill notice, then we transfer money to you.
Yes, you can change the payment method in your WPML account. You can also switch to manual renewals if needed. Please lot into your wpml.org and on the right-hand side of your account you will see a link to do so.
Yes, you can use your credit card. On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.
Hey, i just want to renew my subscription it was 99 and should be 74 but my subscription expired in Jan and i can afford 99 for now, and can’t reach support to ask them.

I am afraid the discount is no longer available.

My apologies for the rush! I have a plugin key, It’s not working on localhost server, So, I am now totally stuck because of WPML plugins and I would like to update my WordPress with PHP 8.
Can I download and update the plugins from localhost server? If I can, So How to do it? or can you provide the latest plugins?
Yes, you can download all the WPML plugin from your wpml.org account
1. please go to https://wpml.org/account/downloads/
2. Click Download WPML manually to expand this section
3. Pick the plugin(s) you need to download it
4. Go to your WP site, Plugins > Add new and upload the plugin(s) by overriding the existing version
Our client asked us if the package Multilingual CMS is enough for the WPML plugin to work on 2 public pages and 2 internal portals.
Could you help me to answer to that question?
Hello,
the CMS package allows you to use and register WPML plugins on 3 production websites and 6 development websites. Sites marked as development will have a baner in the site footer saying it’s a testing version of WPML. I don’t know what you mean by “internal” portal. WPML plugin work on WordPress sites/installs. If your internal portal runs WordPress, yes can use WPML too. If it turns out that you need to upgrade to the Agency account (which allows you to register an unlimited number of sites), you can do so at anytime by paying the difference.
I’m interested in auto-translations for the site listed. I have a few questions about how the solution works, and credits.
1. What is a credit, is it a single word, letter? I’m trying to gauge what plan I will need, and how often I will need to purchase new credits.
2. The site is a membership site (using Toolset and PMPro) where users create content rich profiles, as new users sign up and create profiles I’d like them to be translated. Can new content be auto-translated, or do I need to log-in and run a translation tool periodically?
Hello!
My Website http://www.sandyalonso.com is written in German, which was a mistake, because the .com-Version should be in English. I would like to have my website in English (.com), German. com/de and Spanish. com/es. What would be the easiest way to do so? Do I have to change all the existing content manually to English before I start? Or is there any way to change the existing German content to a. com/de directory and after that translate the content automatically to my main. com Domain?
Hello,
thank you for your interest in WPML. I understand what you mean. In theory you could do the following
1. install WPML and add English as your secondary language (keep German as your primary language for now),
2. translate your content to English automatically (of course, you will be able to review your automatic translations and make edits if needed)
3. change the primary languages in WPML settings from German to English
this will work, however when you changed the primary language it can impact your German pages (the ones created before WPML) if you start making updates to these pages – depending on the case/your need either German content or English content
Let us test this out to get you properly inform what is gonna to happen. I will get back to you soon with details.
Hello again,
we have tested what might happened in a case like yours and the bottom line is – it will work fine but with the WPML 4.6.4 which we will release any day now. Also, if you would like to edit your German content inside the WordPress edit (after your site is switched to English as your primary language), you will need to do the following:
1. on your WordPress admin, use the top language switcher (added by WPML) and switch to German
2. open your page for editing
I have a wordpress multisite and each site is for a different client. All of them use WPML and some clients asked to enable automatic translations. Can they sign up for pay as you go? All those sites must have separate billing and credits.
Hello Jakub,
yes, they can sign up for pay as you go. As long as your subsites are not cross-connected in WPML terms (please check this page to see what I mean by connected sites), every site will main a separate Pay as You Go account with separate billing and credits. Please try this one on two subsites at first to see how this works and it fits your needs. In case of questions, you can open a follow-up ticket on our support forum.

Hello,
I’d like to have some information before purchasing the WPML plugin:
– if I remove WPML from my website, will the translated content be canceled or will I just lose the possibility to update/modify it?
– if I change website, can I deactivate the license on the old one and activate the same license on the new one? Will the translated content on the old website be canceled?
Hello,
1. To keep your translated content you need to have the WPML plugin installed and active. You can cancel your subscription renewals but you need to keep the plugin.
2. Yes, you can but if you do so, you won’t be able to update WPML plugins on the old website.
Our site is in Canadian French as a default. Can your WPML plugin translate into English automatically, or would I need to set this up as a custom language?
Hello Bruce,
In the following list, you should be able to see which languages are detected for automatic translation. As you can see,
you should be able to translate from Canadian French.
Anyway, in case you need to translate from a custom language, this other link may help as well.

Hello,
if you use the Pay as you Go method, yes, you will receive a monthly invoice.
This is explained here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/
If you want your client to sign up with their own credit card instead yours, they can also do so because the “Pay as you Go” method doesn’t need to use your wpml.org email/credit card.
At the time I use conveythis.com as a translationprogram for my blog http://www.aperitivomat.no. They translate into english and spanish. My blog is getting quite large, and the translations very expensive, so I’m considering changeing to wpml. What will the cost be?
Note that besides the costs for automatic translation, you will have to pay for the WPML subscription. You can see our pricing here https://wpml.org/purchase/
Hi there,
I came here because many ppl and Yoast recommened me to WPML , i feel so regret that i didnt do more research, and purcahsed the wrong plugin from TranslatePress, so much errors, and really really poor support. Luckly i didnt not translate much page with the plugin yet.
So Hopefully god bless me this time.
I have some questions here:
1, I saw WPML has the automatic translation for the website, i already i have a deepl API, so do i need to configuring Deepl manually? and can i re-edit the translated content eftewards?
2, When all the products pages are translated, I will need to use a currency swicher pluging, so can I still be able to change a product with two different prices manually in two different countries. For example in my country Sweden I sell a hand cream for 100 SEK, and now I have a Danish translated version of the same hand cream that I would like to sell it for 170 DDK, this means the Danish price is not followed by currency rate chang, but by me manually decide the price for each country, will this be possible to change?
3, Is there any option for example the ppl in Denmark open our website so the currency under the products will be automaticly changed to their own DDK currency so they can directly add to cart, and without needing of changing the currency manually like in a some kind of dropdown mean or bar, I mean the currency plugin can detect the IP address and showing automaticly the native currency? I wish to not to have a currency bar or dropdown menu, will this be possible to do so?
4, I am using a finished and very well coded theme from Klb theme, will their theme be compatible with WPML and currency plugin?
I hope i do not ask to much, if does pls forgive me,
Really looking forward to your réply.
Hello, thank you for your interest in WPML.
1. WPML is already integrated with DeepL, you don’t provide your own DeepL API key. Yes, you can reedit the automatic translated anytime.
2. Yes, this is supported in the WPML’s extension for WooCommerce stores. This plugin is included in the CMS and Agency packages. You can read more about this here: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/#enabling-multiple-currencies
3. Yes, we have some features supporting this: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/multi-currency-support-woocommerce/#currencies-per-location
4. You can check all themes checked for WPML compatibility here: https://wpml.org/theme/ please type in the name of your theme into the search. Most of the themes work out of the box with WPML, even if they are not included in that table. Only less popular themes with some non-standard features might not work with WPML. If that’s the case, you can request a refund within 30 days after the purchase.
How do I make a refund and upgrade to the Agency package? When I click on “Upgrade your account” a window opens with a surcharge.

We have an agency package with WPML. I need help working out what costs there will be (if any) to translate a large website we are building.
In addition to that, we need to find out what the ongoing costs would be to our end-client, should they take over WPML themselves in future.
Please could someone let me know who to contact to talk about this further?
Thanks.
Hi!
You can estimate your translation costs using our calculator https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/#simulate-your-translation-price
If you transfer the renewal payment to your client it will cost them 39$/year.
More details here https://wpml.org/purchase/transferring-account-renewals-to-your-clients/
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi,
May I know $99 per year is in USD?
Thank you
Hello,
yes, the prices are in USD. For each next year you pay $74. You can cancel anytime.
Good morning!
Please, tell me how to translate completely ARmemeber Plugin?
Thank you very much!
Hello, we are not compatible with the ARMember plugin, you won’t be able to translate it completely.
Hello,
I’d like to have some information before purchasing the WPML plugin:
– if I remove WPML from my website, will the translated content be canceled or will I just lose the possibility to update/modify it?
– if I change website, can I deactivate the license on the old one and activate the same license on the new one? Will the translated content on the old website be canceled?
Thank you for your help.
Hello,
1. To keep your translated content you need to have the WPML plugin installed and active. You can cancel your subscription renewals but you need to keep the plugin.
2. Yes, you can but if you do so, you won’t be able to update WPML plugins on the old website.
Our site is in Canadian French as a default. Can your WPML plugin translate into English automatically, or would I need to set this up as a custom language?

you should be able to translate from Canadian French.

Hi there,
I have been able to work out an estimated cost to charging per word translated. Can I assume the costs we incur will be invoiced to us monthly?
And that if we hand this over to the customer going forward we would put them in touch with you to set up their own account?
Thanks!
Hello,
if you use the Pay as you Go method, yes, you will receive a monthly invoice.
This is explained here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/
If you want your client to sign up with their own credit card instead yours, they can also do so because the “Pay as you Go” method doesn’t need to use your wpml.org email/credit card.
Hi,
At the time I use conveythis.com as a translationprogram for my blog http://www.aperitivomat.no. They translate into english and spanish. My blog is getting quite large, and the translations very expensive, so I’m considering changeing to wpml. What will the cost be?
Hi!
Are you planning to use automatic translation?
If so, you can calculate your costs here https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/#simulate-your-translation-price
Note that besides the costs for automatic translation, you will have to pay for the WPML subscription. You can see our pricing here https://wpml.org/purchase/
Will the plugin stop working if I do not decide to renew after a year?
Hello,
If you don’t renew you will lose updates and support but you will keep the transaltion on your site.

Hi there,
I came here because many ppl and Yoast recommened me to WPML , i feel so regret that i didnt do more research, and purcahsed the wrong plugin from TranslatePress, so much errors, and really really poor support.
Thank you.
