I am trying to set up MultiCurrency and selected “Exchange Rates Api” as the “Exchange Rates Source”.
I created a free account at https://exchangeratesapi.io/, and entered my API Key in the configuration. I tested the API Key with their endpoint in Postman and it works perfectly.
However, when I try and refresh exchange rates with the plugin config. UI I get the following error:
“error_code: base_currency_access_restricted – error_message: An unexpected error ocurred. [Technical Support: support@apilayer.com] (April 23, 2024 10:54 pm)”
It honestly looks like the plugin isn’t even hitting the correct API given the domain for the Technical Support email… As I mentioned, hitting their API outside of the plugin via Postman works fine.

when you buy WPML, a subscription will be set up for you which will be renewed each year unless you cancel it. You can cancel your subscription at any time (you do so from your WPML account with a few clicks). If you cancel your WPML subscription you can still use WPML plugins but without updates.

This depends on the number of words you want to translate. The CMS subscription includes 90,000 credits for automatic translation but this does’t mean you cannot translate more content after this. If you need more credits you can pay for them and keep translting your site.

You can change the WooCommerce Multilingual plugin name (any name) via ftp and it will disable the plugin and will allow you to log into the site. This issue needs to be investigated on our support. You need to buy the Multilingual CMS plugin. To work with the WPGraphQL plugin you need the String Translation plugin which is available in the Multilingual CMS package (and not available in the Blog package). I see you have an end-user account, which I am afraid cannot be upgraded. In order to buy a CMS subscription you will have to use another email address, since I am afraid you cannot purchase a new CMS subscription using an account where you already have an end-user account.

The problem is that it’s now unclear what happens with the old subscription, can we connect the old subscription (with the old translation data from the first website) with the new subscription without losing data or other problems appearing? Because we have 2 websites, and it’s for sure cheaper to have one 90 Dollar subscription rather than one 90 dollar and one 40 dollar subscription. Or what still remains is, is it possible to buy this kind of subscription (for around 40 dollars) for the other website instead of buying a 90 dollar subscription (in case it’s not possible to connect the 90 dollar with the old 40 dollar subscription), I fear not.

you have the End-user account with automatic renewals and the next renew date is July 4, 2024.
If you don’t do anything it will be renewed automatically on July 4, 2024.
If you would like to switch to the Multilingual CMS subscription (which allows you to use WPML on 3 production websites) you have the following options:
If you would like to keep the same email address:
1. Cancel your existing End-user account/subscription and buy the Multilingual CMS subscription with the same email address. Please note that canceling your subscription will put it into “Pending cancelation” status and the subscription will expire for good on July 4, 2024 in your case. Only after you will be able to purchase the Multilingual CMS package.
2. Switch your existing End-user account to manual renewals and don’t pay for the next year. Your End-user account will expire on July 4, 2024. Then you will be able to the Multilingual CMS subscription with the same email address.
If you want to purchase the Multilingual CMS subscription today (and you cannot wait until July 4, 2024), we can manually cancel your subscription (directly from our system) and soon after you will be able to buy the Multilingual CMS package. Sorry, still there remains another issue: which type of email is required in order to have a business account (business email), because if we now buy a new 99 dollar subscription it seems to be possible with each email address to buy. Doesn’t matter with which type. Which leads again to the problem if it’s possible to connect the old 45 dollar subscription with the new one (if we buy one new for 99 dollar with the same or other email address e.g. [edited], which seems to be possible. so it’s just about the upgrade for which it’s not possible without a business email, whereas still for me it’s unclear, how a business email needs to look like)

I have explained your option in my previous reply. I hope this is clearer now. In my opinion the best option for you is the following:
a) Cancel your existing subscription as soon as possible with our help
b) Buy the Multilingual CMS subscription with the same email
c) Unregister your existing WPML site and register it again (on your WordPress site: Plugins > Add new > Commercial tab)
Unregister and registering the site doesn’t impact your data.
If I (developer) don’t have an active WPML subscription anymore (e.g the 99€ Multilingual CMS one), can I still transfer account renewals to my clients (the €39 one)?

Sites that you register as “development” will have a small banner added to your site’s footer saying that this is a development site. A similar banner will be displayed on your WordPress admin too. We introduced this feature to allow our clients to use WPML on more than 3 websites if they also have staging/testing environments. If you are testing WPML on a copy of your site, feel free to register it as “development” instead of production. With the CMS package, you can register 3 production sites and in addition, 9 sites as development sites. 12 websites in total. You can register and unregister your sites as many times as you want but you cannot get over the limits we have: 3 production sites and 9 development sites at a given time.

I am working on a new website that will be in 3 languages. We are a team and each one of us publishes posts in their own language. I would like to know if wpml enables to do the following:
1. To publish certain posts in French and then translate them in english and spanish with wpml
2. And also publish post directly in English and then translate them in French and spanish with wpml
I hope you understand, I want each member of the team to publish in their native language, which can be French, English, or Spanish, and then translate the post into the other languages.
With WPML, you set the default language of your site and the secondary languages.
Then you can create posts or pages in any of your site’s language and translate them to the other languages.
