Hi!
is ther any Multilingual CMS Lifetime option available just for one site? (I mean an option with all the functionalities to be used on 1 site only)
Hi,
We are using WPRentals theme. We need to have our website in english and portuguese (more languages will be added later) but I can’t find a plugin that fit our needs. I have confirmed that it’s compatible with your plugin.
But we already have 30 properties uploaded to our website, and from my understanding WPML will duplicate every property and everything related to the property when I add a new language.
– Will the calendars in both properties (english and translated) synchronize automatically?
– Will the duplication be made manually or automatically?
– How about cities, neighborhoods, categories, slugs, etc…?
– Is it possible to have access do the admin area of the compatibility demo (http://wprentals.compatibility.wpml.org/)? I would like to see how WPML works before purchasing it.
you say:
“WPML will duplicate every property and everything related to the property when I add a new language.”
not really. When you translate a property with WPML you have two options:
1. duplicate
2. create a blank new post
If you choose the latter, you can set it up independently.
Duplication is made automatically meaning an exact copy is created. You can switch a duplicated post to be translated independently anytime so this option is often used to avoid copy/pasting the content that remains the same for both languages or to help translating.
If a theme has been tested by our Compatibility Team it means that you can translate every single element of your site. So you should be able to translate cities, neighborhood, categories, slugs etc.
I’m not sure about the calendar. Let me ask that question to our Compatibility Team developers.
No, it is not possible to access the admins of that site.
The only way to test WPML without any risk is to buy it keeping our refund policy in mind. It lets you test WPML for 30 days.
I have a few more questions. Sorry for the trouble.
– I don’t know if you have worked with the theme WPRentals, but to add properties it needs to be done via front end interface. I guess that to have that property translated to a different language this would need to be done via wp-admin interface. Correct?
– Is it possible for both properties, the original and the translated, to use the same photos?
My last question is regarding the calendar.
– Our properties are synced with an external calendar, coming from bookingsync.
Will this be an issue with the syncing of the internal calendar?
Hello Filipe,
let me consult your questions with the developer who tested this theme for WPML compatibility to provide you with accurate answers. I will keep you posted.
Hi Filipe, to answer your questions:
1. Yes, you translate via the backend.
2. Yes, it is possible for both properties, the original and the translated, to use the same photos.
3. It wasn’t tested by our Compatibility Team so we don’t know.
Hello Agnes,
Thank you for your answers.
WPRentals team have set up a demo website, and I was able to test if the calendar sync between translated properties and with external calendar, and it works.
Thanks for your attention.
Hello,
you can use WPML to build a Arabic /English website but WPML doesn’t translate your content automatically. You need to provide the translation yourself or use one of the professional translation services integrated with WPML. Here’s the list: https://wpml.org/documentation/content-translation/
Hello again Agnes.
Team WPRentals can’t help me with the questions below, so they said to reach out to you guys.
– Does WPML Media plugin only work with new content or will it use the already uploaded photos with the new translated property?
– Can the amenities of the properties be translated?
Is this an independent translation for each property or an overall for the entire theme?
WPML always creates different URLs for different languages. You can choose between having languages in ‘folders’, like (example.com/es/, examples.com/fr/) or in domains (example.es, example.fr).
Hello,
to answer your question, yes, the Multilingual CMS subscription will suffice but please read this doc first to understand how you set up your site to have languages on different domains.
Hi Ries, no need to setup a multisite, so you can skip the doc from your comment entirely. It’s valid only for users who want to use WPML in the WordPress Multisite environment.
Dear Wpml team,
I have an issue i would love to solve. We have a lot of broken link in our support forum that are damaging us on google since they are all wrong. It is also a bad things for you to have error link in your website. Is that possible?

Hi,
We have purchased WPML many years ago and I don’t have to email address of the user who purchased it back then so I can’t submit a ticket.
Anyway, the language switcher on our header is empty ( see: blog.stratasys.com).
How can we fix that? please advise ASAP.
Hello,
please use this form and send us your oder number or your WPML invoice (or anything else that can help us look up your record in our system) along with your new email. Once we are sure that account belongs to you we will update your email and you will be able to access our support forum.
Hello,
please use this form and send us your oder number (or anything else that can help us look up your record in our system) along with your new email so we can revise your email.
I wanted to upgrade from Multilingual Blog plan which expires on 2017-05-30 to Multilingual CMS. Will my expiration date change to one year from purchasing date? It is not too beneficial for me to buy an upgrade for 3 months only. What solution would you offer in this case?
Hi, we are thinking about using WPML (instead of 3 different wordpress installations we have now), but we are using a custom-made theme, and some text elements (e.g. in the header) are changed in the Editor directly in code. Does WPML offer the possibility to translate elements in, for example, the header, or to create individual headers for each language? Also how can I find out if in general our theme would work with WPML?
Thanks.
For sure, both OneHourTranslation and ICanLocalize can help you with translation to Hebrew. Both have full support for both Hebrew language and RTL (right-to-left) text flow. I guess that there are other translation services in our list who can translate to Hebrew, but I’m 100% sure about these two.
Hi, I have taken over the responsibility for a website on which several paid WPML plug-ins are active and running … The problem is that I cannot get hold of the original purchase codes as the previous webmaster has left the country and is not available anymore. Hello,
the owner of a WPML subscription (account) is the person who purchased WPML. Our licensing system allows this person to install and use WPML for all of the sites he/she builds for his/her customers but the formal owner of the WPML account remains the the person who bought WPML from us.
If you need to register WPML anew (registering is needed to get automatic updates directly from your WordPress admin) you need to buy a WPML subscription.
we send a reminder that your WPML will expire twice: a month before and a few days before. If for some reason it didn’t happen, we will extend your subscription for a few more days so you can renew it.
Let me ask our admins to check the status of your WPML account and logs (I assume you bought WPML with the same email you posted this comment with). I will keep you posted.
Hello David,
our logs say that we sent both notifications. The first had been sent around 30 days before your subscription expired (Dec 8, 2016) and the second around three days before it expired (Jan 4, 2017).
We can see that you have already purchased a Blog subscription (Feb 15, 2017).
Hello,
to test WPML you would need to purchase it with our refund policy in mind. It allows you to test WPML for 30 days without any risk and you can even ask technical questions on our support forum during that probation period.
My client needs a multilingual site setting up and they’re not very technically knowledgeable. WPML looks to me like the best option for them.
If I purchase and set up WPML for them I would obviously contact you for support, but would my client also be able to contact you directly for support, or would they have to go through me for it?
Hi Nick,
our licensing system allows you to buy WPML and use it for all your customers’ sites. But to access our support forum you need to be logged in. Only the person who knows the user and the password can log in, which is the person who purchased WPML. So you would need to share your credentials with your customer. I hope it helps.
I am building my own WP theme and website on top of it with Extend studio’s WP Site Designer2. Extend studio told me that they don’t support WPML (yet).
So my question is, when I have created my theme/website and I have uploaded it into WP on the server where my website will be hosted, can I then install WPML and will it integrate with my site?
Hello,
yes, of course, you can add WPML later. Please note that if you theme doesn’t support WPML you still should be able to translate posts, pages, menu, categories. You might have issues with custom elements introduced by this theme and specific for that theme (non-standard once) such as theme options and the like.

The owner of the site will edit the site afterwards.
A question I have is:
When I translated a page or post that includes media (images/movies/etc) in several languages and I need afterwards to update an image on a page/post in all languages, is it possible to change it in 1 language so it makes automatically the change in the ther languages ?
Hello Hugo,
yes, the Media Translation Module (a WPML add-on, included in the Multilingual CMS and in the Multilingual CMS Lifetime subscriptions) allows you to use exact same media files in different languages. Please find our more here: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/media-translation/
Please note that WPML doesn’t translate your content automatically.
Question about this plugin? Does this plugin work ith visual composer also? I mean ill visual composer cause an issue with translation? Also, I have seen people saying that the plugin doesn’t automatically translate the words on the site something about you have to do it?
That’s correct: WPML doesn’t automatically translate. You provide your translations yourself or you can use one of the translation services integrated with WPML: https://wpml.org/documentation/content-translation/
We use a similar (CDN) service on wpml.org and it works. I think that best would be if you could test it yourself on your setup, keeping our refund policy in mind.
Hi,
I have some queries
1. Is this plugin compatible with VS Netflix theme , WPBakery Visual Composer Version 4.12 , and live composer Version 1.2 ?
2. Does it support Khmer language?
3. Can I edit the content for each language I select the website to be translated into?
Hello,
1. This theme wasn’t tested by our Compatibility Team so it’s difficult to say what kind of issues you might have but from what I can see this is not a standard WP theme.
WPML works with the Visual Composer and you can ream more here: https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/visual-composer/
2. You won’t see Khmer on the list of languages that come pre-configured with WPML but you can add it manually – this tutorial will help https://wpml.org/documentation/support/editing-wpmls-languages-table/
3. You mean, you want to translate only some of your pages? If so, it is possible with WPML. Please note that WPML doesn’t translate automatically.
Hello, I’m interested to use your WPML All Import plugin along with WP All Import and Woocommerce. I have setup a scenario where I get 1 xml file automatically exported and uploaded to the server once per day.
Using WP All Import cronjob I will read the xml file and add/delete/update entries in woocommerce products.
Can I use this file (or a 2nd/3rd one) to import the other languages? I will use 3 languages in total.
Will it be an automated job using cronjobs?
Will the WPML plugin auto-create new categories and map them with products?
I am looking to make this site from the existing English version to Spanish and Chinese as well. I have wordfence security installed. Is that compatible with WPML? Also about how long is it going to take for a newbie to do this installation.
Hello Dean,
WPML is easy to configure. You download the plugin, upload it to your WP site and install as any other plugin. Then a WPML wizard will guide you through the process where you pick your primary language (English in your case) and other languages (Spanish and Chinese).
WPML wasn’t tested with the Wordfence security plugin so we don’t know if there are any issues. In case, if doesn’t work as you would expect, you can use our refund policy.

Hi Filipe,
1- Yes, it works with the old content. You can duplicate the old media to all languages. You can read more about the Media Translation plugin here https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/media-translation/
2- You can translate amenities. And it’s not independent for each property. The theme makes them general in the theme options.
Hello, i am interested in buying your plug in. Is it possible to have different URL’s for each language? If yes how is this done in the back end?
Thank you!
Philip
WPML always creates different URLs for different languages. You can choose between having languages in ‘folders’, like (example.com/es/, examples.com/fr/) or in domains (example.es, example.fr).
You only need to create one WordPress site. WPML sets up the language domains or virtual folders. You’ll select it in WPML->Languages. We explain it here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/
Hello Amir,
which plugin do i need to buy if i want to set up languages on different domeins .de . nl .be etc. Just de normal Multilingual CMS plugin?

Hello,
to answer your question, yes, the Multilingual CMS subscription will suffice but please read this doc first to understand how you set up your site to have languages on different domains.
Hi Agnes, nice!
i’m a little bit confused. Do i have to setup a multisite and than follow the steps above? So first thes steps here and then the steps above?
Or are the steps above the only steps to follow when you want the website on different domains?
Thanks

Hi Ries, no need to setup a multisite, so you can skip the doc from your comment entirely. It’s valid only for users who want to use WPML in the WordPress Multisite environment.

We can see that you have already purchased a Blog subscription (Feb 15, 2017).

Yes, I purchased yesterday a Blog Dubscription as patch solution. But I´d rather to have the benefits of my previous package, and pay for the renewal.

Hello,
Is it possible with WPML to have one wordpress installation with 2 domain and 2 languages. For example, my current website is http://www.binkies.be, this is in dutch. I would like to have on the same system: http://www.binkies.fr with a french version. How can I make this happen?
Kind regards,

Yes, it’s possible. You will need to register the two domains and send them to the same WordPress installation. Then, WPML can use them for different languages. See the setup details here:
https://wpml.org/faq/server-setting-for-languages-in-different-domains/

2. You won’t see Khmer on the list of languages that come pre-configured with WPML but you can add it manually – this tutorial will help

Thanks in advance
Hello,
unfortunately cron-base mode is not supported so it won’t work as you expect.
