  1. hola, me gustaría saber si dependiendo de en que país esté la persona, aparezca directamente en ese idioma traducido sin necesidad de que pulse sobre ningun botón para elegirlo, ¿eso es posible? saludos.

  2. Hi, I just wanted to know if the “Multilingual Blog – is gonna work for me”, its for the New Boutique theme from kute, they recomended your plugin, how can I test out without having to buy the blog one or the “Multilingual CMS”.

    Thanks.

  3. I have a question about supported languages, my website is in dutch, can your tool translate it to English?

    • Hello,
using WPML you can create a multilingual website in English and Dutch. By default WPML doesn’t translate anything automatically but you can try out our machine translations if you buy the CMS package, enable our ATE editor (WPML -> Settings), which provides machine translations. We offer 10 000 words per month for free. Our ATE editor uses Azure’s MT engine.

  4. I have a question about supported languages, my website is in dutch, can your tool translate this to English?

  5. After the purchase of wpml translation do i get 10.000 words for free evey month, because that’s what i read, but i want to be confirmed!

  6. Does WPML work on wordpress.com hosted websites?
Are there any restrictions, limitations or requirements?

  7. We have a client who will be purchasing the Multi Lingual Agency plugin, however, will have a large number of words that require automatic translation initially. Potentially 2million plus.

Do they have to pre-purchase credits (words) beforehand or will the amount be deducted from their credit card automatically?

    Many thanks

    • Hello Matt,
thank you for your interest in WPML.
If you want to use our machine translations, you need to enable our ATE editor in WPML settings. We provide 10 000 words for free per month. If you need more words, you need to set up a subscription (and provide your card number) but you won’t be able to buy more than 500,000 words at first. That will be possible after we charge you. Then you can request more words.

      • Thankyou for your reply.

If I can ask one more question. If we purchase the $159 multilingual agency license will that one license cover a WordPress Multisite installation?

For example a primary website which also has 4 or 5 regional sites with their own domains? Or do each of those website require a license?

        Would greatly appreciate your clarification.

        • For your WordPress Multisite installation, if you install/update your plugins on the network level, you will need only one key. The key/registration is required for plugin updates.

    • Hello,
if your site is going to be in languages (English and French), then you need WPML. But if you need your site only in one language (French), then you don’t need WPML. You can try the Loco Translate plugin.

  8. Hello,

I have query about mail, My site in french language then mail send in french language.

We need mail in french language. it possible to translate base on website language – Frontend .

  9. Hello,

I want to build my website in a single language i.e. French. I am NOT looking to build a multilingual site for now. The only language would be French. Also, I want all the emails being sent from the site to be in French language. Please confirm if both the aforesaid points are possible through WPML plugin or not.

    Thank you,
    Shalini

    • Hello,
your previous questions were awaiting moderation. In this case, you don’t need WPML, which is meant for multilingual sites. The Loco Translate plugin should suffice. You can also check with the theme author if all emails are translatable.

  10. I have woocommerce website in which thousands of product created using external third party API using English language. Now i want to translate all contents of product(category name, meta and other information) to Finnish language as my website has primary Finnish language and third party API is not providing content in Finnish.

How WPML can help with above scenario ? Since there are thousands of products and its content, manual translation is not solution to this problem , i need automatic translation. Also i need exact pricing quotation for automatic translation and i need help on how to do that using WPML.

    Thanks

  11. I am wondering if I get multilingual CMS for 79$ can I upgrade later to multilingual agency and pay the difference?

    • Yes, you can and will work exactly as you expect – you won’t need to pay the whole price again but just the difference.

  12. Hello,

We have an e-shop built with woo-commerce with approximately 4000 products and we are looking for an automatic translation plugin with the abillity to change the translation if it is wrong. Which package of your plugin do you recommend?

Also, we use a menu plugin which is generated via javascript and we would like to know if this will cause any problem to the translation or leave the menu content without translation.

    Thank you in advance.

    • If you enable our ATE editor you can use machine translations, which can be later updated manually. We provide 10 000 words per month for free, if you need more, you would need to check our pricing here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/

Please note that you need to pick your products and “send” them to translation (to appear in the ATE) – it won’t happen automatically. The video in this post will help you understand how our ATE works. It doesn’t show products but we support products as well and provide the ability to bulk send products to ATE.

I cannot tell much about your menu plugin. If it’s compatible with WPML it will work, if it’s not on the list I shared, you would need to test it yourself.

      • I can’t understand fully the automatic translating process and the words per month limits. The translation is triggered when the user visits the page? or i translate everything from the beginning? (in that case why is a word limit/month?)

I’m sorry for so many questions but we want to be sure that it’ll fit our needs before buying, because there isn’t any free trial to test it.

        • The translation happens on the backend. Your visitors will see translated pages.
Actually, you can try this out on our demo site for Toolset plugins. Please do the following:
          1. Visit this site:
          https://discover-wp.com/site-types/gyms-and-trainers/
          2. Click Create test site
          3. Choose Multilingual with WPML
          4. Once the copy of the site is ready, please go to WPML -> Settings and enable the ATE editor (How to translate posts and pages -> Use WPML’s Advanced Translation Editor)
          5. Then go to Posts and click on the + icon under the German flag to send one of your posts to translation. It will open in our ATE editor.

      • Hello,

I want to ask some further questions please.
You said that I have to send my product for translation. After the translation is done what is the process? It duplicates the products or keeps translations in memory and load them when the user visits the page/product? Also, will it be different urls for translated products in order to redirect foreign users straight to translated pages (for example via newsletters)?

        Thank you in advance.

        • Yes, each translation is stored as a separate post and the translated version is displayed for the visitors. The translated posts/products will get their own URL which you can share with your users.

          • and what about the product’s data such as categories, tags? the new products will be categorized in the related categories or I will have to re-categorize the new translated products?
I assume that I have to create new translated categories but will the products be stored automatically at them>?

            • Our ATE editor can handle categories as well. As soon as you translate your categories, correct categories will be assigned to relevant products.

  13. I understood that you have free options for non profits. We are a non profit and are already approved by GoogleAdgrants, Canva, Microsoft and our local techsoup providing us with many ICT benefits.

We are a non profit supporting communities all over the world by looking for volunteers to help these communities. We would like to increase our reach to find more volunteers to help more communities.

We are now building a new website in WordPress (coming from Weelbly) and would also like to apply for the non profit status with WPML. How can we do this?

  14. Hi, how are you?
    Could you help me?
We are from a company that work in website development and we want to know if there is some kind of template package that we could use the same plugin in multiple websites?
We want to offer that functionality to our clients.
    Waiting for your answer,

    Best regards,

  15. Thanks for your answer. The subscription is anual or is it perpetual? Waiting for your answer, best regarts.

    • It’s annual. Renewals are optional (required for updates and our support help). Your plugins will continue working even if you don’t renew.

  16. I have received an email that has big bold subject:
Hurry, last chance to renew your WPML account at a 25% discount

When I go to my account to renew there is no discount to be found. Furthermore the only option to renew my subscription is to set up automatic renewals. At full price of course…

Do you care to respond to this?

  17. Hi,

I have an issue with the translated posts. I am translating from English to German, French and Spanish.
Some of the ASCII letters came in a funny way /instead of the letter is “?”/

    Thanks!

    • Hello, could you please log into your WPML account and then open a ticket on our support forum? One of our supporters will look into it.

  18. Hello. My membership expired and I decided to opt out. I tried to delete wpml from my website, but disabling WPML Multilingual CMS breaks my website COMPLETELY. There is no structure, nor in admin area, just lines of links on white background.
I was paying for years, It would be nice to have some help with removing your plugin from my wordpress website.
    Thanks.

  19. Hello, Our company is global and has locations in multiple countries. Our home page has a contact form on it. When translating the home page to different languages would we be able to have different contact forms attached to different translations of that page so that when you are on the German translation page it has a form that sends to the German team? Also same question with our slider. We use revolution slider. Would different translated home pages be able to have different slides?

One last question. the main site is English so all blog posts and pages will be translated from that, however if the French branch wanted to run a sale that is not available for other countries, would they be able to make a blog post or page that is only visible when you are on the French translation page and not the the English native language page.

    Thank you.

      • OK good thank you for the reply. We are currently using WP Forms. Just to be clear I don’t want to just translate them, I want to be able to attach different forms to different translated pages. For example: The native English page will have contact form 123 ( Shortcode [wpforms id=”123″]) but then the German translated page will have form 456 ( Shortcode [wpforms id=”456″]) for its contact form.

I need the contact forms to go to the sales teams of their region not one translated form that sends to multiple different sales teams.

        Thank you.

  20. Hi,
I am interested in using WPML. I have a certain use case which I need to get working. I saw some old forum posts so I guess a lot of people have the same use case.

    1. I want redirect to what was set in the cookie, or if no cookie is set what my preferred browser language is ONLY in the index page.
    2. Second, for any other page (deep links to content pages) I want that there will be no redirect. When I click on http://www.example/de/test I want to see the German page despite my cookie or browser language.

Can you implement that? Will there be a timeline, when this feature is available?

    Best
    Michael

    • Hi Michael,
Our automatic redirect feature redirects to your browser language on your first visit, no matter if it’s the index page or not.
Maybe you can suggest this feature?
      https://wpml.org/suggest-a-new-feature-for-wpml/
Another option would be to create a root page, and with a few lines of PHP you can redirect only from index … it won’t work out of the box but it’s fairly easy to implement.
Remember you can try WPML for 30 days and see how it works for you. We will refund you if not.

      Kind regards,

  21. Hi, I’m trying to purchase WPML but I get this error: An error occurred, please try again or try an alternate form of payment.
As my card details are correct and I have money in my account.
    How can I do?

    • Hi Ignacio,
This error may be your credit card not nauthoprizing this online transaction. You may try to contact them or also trying from a different browser may work. Let me know? I will follow up on your purchase and hel you get it processed correctly.

      Best,

      • Hi Mercedes, thanks for your replay, I got this response from the bank:
“Would you be able to contact that merchant and ask whether or not they process the prepaid cards (cards used by Revolut Business clients)?
From my side it looks like everything is ok with the card.”
