    Thanks in advance

  2. Dear Agnes,

I have a WordPress website that is set up with WP Bakery Page Builder and I am considering buying your plugin. Do you know if the WPML plugin works well with WP Bakery Page Builder?

Thank you very much in advance,

    Annette

  3. I’m working on a site that makes heavy use of ACF Flexible Content field for different page templates. The site has 20+ fields groups that can be used in the Flexible Content field. Also, the ACF Fields are built using the ACF PHP library, not the WP Admin.

Can WPML support ACF Fields defined in PHP? Do I really need to make a copy of each field group per language I need to support or can I just copy the entire page when I want to translate it and fill out those ACF Fields on the new page. That way I have an English, Spanish, French version of page with ACF on each page.

    • >Do I really need to make a copy of each field group per language
Just the opposite. You shouldn’t do that. Please check here: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/
      >or can I just copy the entire page when I want to translate it and fill out those ACF Fields on the new page
Yes, that’s what you should do.
      >Can WPML support ACF Fields defined in PHP?
In most cases yes, but our developer handling WPML/ACF compatibility recalls some cases where users had issues.

  4. Hi, we are a research unit at the University of Aveiro and we want to renew the WPML license that is installed on our website. The problem is that the first year was paid by the developer who built the site and now we have to do it ourselves selves. However, since we are a university, we cannot pay by credit card. Is it possible to pay in another method? is it possible to send us a budget for more than a year (for example, for 3 or 5) ?

    Thanks,
    Gonçalo Gomes

    • Hello Gonçalo,
You can pay with a debit card or PayPal. I am afraid you cannot make advanced payments for more than a year.
Let me know if this works?

  5. Dear sirs

I am building a site which will be a booking platform for activity providers. I am using woocommerce, woocommerce bookings and woocommerce product vendors

I am currently building it in English and will be making it multi lingual so looking at your product.

However my main question is that the product vendors will need to log in and create, or edit their products in other languages that are different to the base language.

Is this possible? Could they write the (in effect translation first) and then we enter the base language afterwards? Also can they see the wordpress dashboard in their language?

    • Yes, the can edit their products in other languages that are different to the base language. Yes, they can choose their backend language.

  6. Hi!

I would like to buy WPML Multilingual CMS, but I need a bill after purchase with my company datas, and VAT number of course. Is it possible?

    Thank you in advance!

  7. Hi, i am not sure if this falls under technical?? I bought WPML (content translation seems to be good), but slight problem.
Background: I bought a theme on themeforest.net, doing what I need. So this is not the normal themes used on wordpress.

Some of my action buttons, eg “read more” or “make appointment” did not get translated (used machine translation). Another issue is that when action buttons where translated, they did not linked to new translated versions/pages (of which these pages were translated, example when clicking from menu).

Also on some pages there were still English paragraphs while most were translated to new language.

Have a problem that not all images appear on the same translated page, eg heading with image, then last 3 images associated with last 3 headings were not included.

Have “slider” build into theme, it translated the word but removed the action buttons (“read more”) and some slider completely removed

My theme had a FAQ pages which had all appropriate FAQs, however, these question did not get translated but the answers did. I have 2 pages that have translations that is not clear (meaning that translated content is correct) but looks like it does not belong on the page.

Some of my columns or not sure if it is widgets is not translated, say for example the left side is fully translated but the right side is not with content on right identical (my requirement) on a few pages.

On my forms (use Contact 7), the consent button with wording was removed on all and layout was changed in some of them (eg, where widget was on right (this was not translated, as above) it is now on left.

Im playing with how to use it still. The above was my first attempt.

      • Hi

Question regarding automatic translation for widget strings.
I have identified the strings i want to translate (automatic), after sending these to translation it does not seem to go to automatic bulk translations. under “Translation jobs” it request to be assigned to a translator (im admin & also translator (my email)), this then gets send to my email, when clicking on taking the job i get send back to my wordpress admin page.

How do I make sure it goes to bulk automatic translations. Other pages previously did.

  8. Hi,

I’m thinking of using WPML for a project using Enfold/Avia Builder, but have a couple of questions:

    1. Can the language switcher be easily (note!) attached as a dropdown to a standard WP main menu item? I want the menu item to be titled simply ‘Language’..and I don’t want the language plugin forcing special words or titles into my menu system.

    2. Does WPML create complete duplicate pages/posts for each language? Or does it hold translations in the database and replace the language ‘on the fly’ ?

    3. Can I give access to a translator to login to the WPML part of my WP install so that they can manage the translation work (without touching anything else!)

    Thank you.
    Dowlass

    • Hello Dowlass,

I’ll try to answer your questions:

      1. You can easily set up a dropdown language switcher with WPML. However, it does not come by default with a “Language” title, thus you may need to customize it in case your Enfold theme does not offer you that option.
      https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/

2.WPML does create an entry for every page and translated post.

      3. Yes, you can set any user of your WordPress site as a translator and authorize him/her only for making translations.
      https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/

You can find more information here:
      https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/enfold/

      Regards,
      Andrés

      • Hi Andres,

        Thanks for reply.

        1. My Enfold theme allows me to make a menu like most WordPress themes! The question, I guess, is whether WPML adds a special ‘switcher’ in the WP menu dialogue, and whether within the menu item ‘switcher’ I can use the word ‘Langauge’ for my menu item?

The best way to see what I want to achieve is to look at this.

        2. OK, so you’re saying that WPML creates an entry in the database for every language? It doesn’t create new ‘pages’? This is important; if it creates new pages then my WP admin becomes very crowded – a 10 page site with three additional languages will become a 40 page site. On the other hand, if WPML is just holding the translation in the database and replacing the English string with a French string, then my WP admin does not become crowded. So which approach does WPML take?

        3. Great!

        Thanks for listening,
        Dowlass

        • 1. You can activate or deactivate our WPML language switcher. However, ours does not offer you the possibility to add a “Languages” menu item by default, you will need to create a custom language switcher in order to achieve that.

          2. Sorry if I was not clear about it, when I mentioned that WPML creates an entry in the database, it means that it creates a new page per language. However, all the pages are going to be separated per language, in that way, your Dashboard will be less crowded.

Let me know if it solves your doubts. 🙂

          Regards,
          Andrés

          • Hi Andres,

Thanks for the answers…. although it’s hard to understand how these things look or are actioned without trying the plugin out for real and seeing the interface.

Does the plugin have a refund period?…. if it doesn’t do what I need in the way I need.

            regards
            Dowlass

            • I totally understand it. Yes, we have a 30 days refund policy, so you can use our product during this time and use the support in case you need some help translating your project.

              Regards,
              Andrés

  9. Hello,
I have a blog in Hebrew wich right now I’m translating to English and in the future, I will translate to Russian.
I have a bit of a bad experience with some other providers, so I have a few questions before buying:
    1. I already translated about 20% of my blog and the multilingual plugin is MultilingualPress, does your Plugin work well with it?
    2. does your plugin basically overwrites all the existing translation, so it needs to be re-input manually into your system, or to go back to an earlier version to restore the material? (it happened with GTranslate)
    3. where is the translation stored: on your hosting service so I lose it if I don’t renew the subscription (Happens with Weglot), or on my server so I have it even if I don’t renew the subscription?
    4. I Have a subscription to Thrive Themes, do you integrate with them?
    Thank you for your answers,
    Ilana

    • Hello Ilana,

I’ll try to answer your questions:

      1. We don’t recommend you to use two or more plugins for the same functionality. Thus, it is likely that you will need to manually migrate your previous translations into our plugin.

2.That’s not the case with our plugin. However, if you modify your original content, you will need to update your translations accordingly.

      3. When you use our Classical Translator Editor, translations are stored in your database. With our Advanced Translator Editor translations occur in our ATE server. However, in both cases, if you don’t renew your subscription you won’t lost your translated content, you just won’t be able to upgrade and receive support.

      4. In the following link, you will be able to find all the themes that have been tested by our compatibility team.
      https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/

      Regards,
      Andrés

      • Thank you for your answer.
        1 more question:
I have a blog about health and nutrition. I don’t have a shop or anything like this, a simple text blog, but with a lot of content that keeps growing.
Which subscription do I need? the 29$ or 79$. I’m not knowledgable enough in computers to understand the difference between the 2.
        Thank you,
        Ilana

        • If you are only planning to translate your blog posts the $29 package should work for your. However, if you are planning to translate your footer, theme options or other plugin functionalities, you will need the $79 package.

I hope it answers your question, Ilana. 🙂
          Andrés

  11. Hello! I have one doubt regarding the number of words per month for automatic translation.
    https://wpml.org/es/documentation-2/traduccion-automatica-para-contenido-de-wordpress-con-wpml/precios-del-servicio-de-traduccion-automatica/
In the previous link talking about the different plans of the plugin, I’ve seen that you have 10000 words per month + 2000 words if you buy the multilingual ms. Does that mean that if I buy that plan I’ll have 12000 words per month?
Also, If I want to translate 1000 words in 4 languages, that is 4000 words?

    Thank you!

  12. Hi Agnes, not a good enough answer. I have had a look at the support forum but cant find what I am looking for or even a descriptive term I could use that will cover my problem.

Each of my paragraphs refer to a different issue.

    Solved FAQs issue.

I have now used the classic translator.
“Some of my action buttons, eg “read more” or “make appointment” did not get translated (used machine translation). Another issue is that when action buttons where translated, they did not linked to new translated versions/pages (of which these pages were translated, example when clicking from menu).” Still not any more clear on why action button not translated. However, I think i need to make sure that I link the action buttons to a translated page. Do I need a duplicate or do I need to change the url to new language??

“Also on some pages there were still English paragraphs while most were translated to new language.” On the classic translator I can see the translated paragraphs. However, now these paragraphs are missing on front end (website).

On my translated home page, there is a whole section missing ” I have 2 pages that have translations that is not clear (meaning that translated content is correct) but looks like it does not belong on the page.” I can however see the translated content in classic translator.

There is a widget missing underneath my map.

Sliders. Still have issue with no action buttons, but now also 2 sliders missing in action on translated page.

Agnes if you can not help with my query can you suggest a term (for each of my queries) to search for help in the support forum or do I have to get a ticket for each or can I submit all together under 1 ticket.

    Regards,

    • What I meant was suggesting opening a ticket on our support forum, not searching the forum. Please log in, then go to this link https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/, put something in the search, click search, and then you will see the “Open a new support ticket” link. One of our supporters will address all your technical issues.

  13. Hi, I need the plugin just for one site, but I have a question, my website works with wp bakery and I have some images with text in the same image. ¿I can translate this items even when the most basic version doesn´t mention this funcionallity?

    Thanks

  14. My (large) company has bought the plugin. I am the developer. But I need access to the account to setup multiple sites with it.

How do I do that? I have a license code.

    • Hello,
to access a WPML account, you need to log in so the person/company who bought WPML subscription needs to share the login and the password with you. Then, you need to go to the Downloads section and download the WPML Multilingual CMS plugin, go to your WordPress site, Plugins -> Add new, install it and activate, next you will see the Commercial tab when you are under Plugins, to go there, you enter your site key and then you will be able to install the rest of WPML plugins from there. I hope it helps.

  15. Good day,
I am just wondering if the languages Birmese and Amharic can also be translated (form English)? Many thanks in advance

  16. Hi,

We have a WP Multisite setup with a woocommerce multistore plugin feeding products across the entire network of sites.

We would like to have translations for our websites and WPML was the plugin that we chose.

    Few questions:

1 – WPML works with Google Translate API (the paid one)?
2 – How many licenses of WPML we need? 1 for each website/domain? Currently we have 4 websites. Does this mean that we need 4 licenses?

    Thanks

    • Hello,
      1. No. Our machine translations use the Azure’s MT engine (you can, of course, use your own translation or do copy-pasting)
      2. With the CMS package you will be able to register 3 sites. You can start with this and then upgrade to the Agency version (you will pay the difference in purchase price).

  17. Is formatting of dates in different languages – i.e. french, german – supported?
It seems to me that english date is applied to french and german….
    Thank you
